January 10th Midday
The sun shown brightly, even though the cold January wind blew through the market place of Diagon Alley. It was a few days before school was to restart, and Celina wasn't prepared. With all that had gone on during the break, she had completely forgotten that she was out of most of her ink, some of her quills had been broken interviewing people and just doing homework assignments in general, and most of her parchment was used, leaving her nothing but scraps. Celina's father wasn't pleased with their daughter's unpreparedness, but Elizabeth Jedynak told him not to mind and that she would take her daughter out to gather the supplies.
And so there they were, Elizabeth Rose Jedynak and Celina Icelyn Jedynak in Flourish and Blotts buying school supplies midyear. Elizabeth wasn't pleased either, but accepted the fact that the increased usage of Celina's materials were because of the paper, and being on the paper was an achievement in and of itself, so she figured that no matter her husband's annoyance, Celina was in the right. As they entered the store with their best robes on, the Jedynak women shook off the snow flakes that had fallen on them and smiled warmly at each other. "Thank you, Ma'ma...and I'm sorry," Celina said softly.
"No, need for your sorry's m'dear," Elizabeth said brushing her daughter's robes off and hugging her. "Now hurry and gather your supplies you need. You know we have that dinner tonight we have to be ready for. Your father won't like it if we dilly dally, now would he?" Celina shook her head knowing her father's temper. And her mother's eyes grew worried at the sight, but said nothing. "Now go on."
Celina walked quickly around the store searching for her supplies that she had written on a piece of blank parchment. "Ink.....quills.....parchment....." she said out loud not really paying attention to her surroundings. She had to gather everything and fast. So around the store she went, and even faster around the isle corners.

Inside Flourish and Blotts was alot warmer than being outside in the cold winter air, and it just so happened that Michael Rolen had another reason for being in the store. His eyes searching the aisles for the books and other supplies that he would be needing for the year, now one might ask why he was looking for books as he had bought all the ones required at the start of the school year but it would seem that due to this being his last year, he wanted to do his best and achieve the grades that he sought after.
So he continued to look through the aisle he was in and found nothing that would help him in that particular aisle so he started to move into the next aisle, not looking where he was going and more at the book that he had picked up a few aisles before.
What a mistake this could be....

Celina sighed as they were all out of anything but the spelling correcting quills that she hated. But as they were the only ones left, she picked a couple of them out to buy. She thought to herself how Brady would be proud and rolled her eyes, giggling to herself. Briskly walking again, she now had to get parchment and ink. That wouldn't be too difficult, or so she hoped. With her mother waiting at the front of the sore, she had no time to waste shopping for her supplies. It was then that she almost passed the ink. Stopping suddenly she picked up a few bottles of the black permanent ink, and continued on her way, still as fast and only paying attention to the shelves and what kinds of parchment there was to pick from.
She sighed not finding anything in the isle she was in, so she quickly turned into the next slamming right into whoever was coming down the same isle. She didn't look at the person, fearing the worst, and the ink in her hands flew as did the quills. Celina covered her face as she didn't want to see where the black ink would land but she hoped dearly it wasn't on her best robes she was dressed in for her dinner that evening. As she heard the three bottles she was carrying smash, she opened her eyes and gasped. "Oh....oh, Merlin.....I'm.....I'm so....so sorry," Celina stumbled over her words not knowing even what to do.

The book that Mike had been reading flew from his hands and down onto the floor, he felt his hand bend back causing a sharp pain to fly through his body, it was only momentarily though as he looked up and saw exactly whom it was that had ran into him.
Celina...
He tried to stifle a small laugh but it came out slightly still, it wasn't meant to be a laugh at her more as a laugh at how that they always seemed to be bumping into each other like this.
"No...it's okay....my fault, and you know what I think.....we really need to stop bumping into each other like this, people might get the wrong idea"
He said to the younger girl as he brushed a hand through his hair, a grin on his lips as he crouched down and picked up his book which had remarkably been able to avoid the ink.

It was odd to her as well. They always did seem to find each other at the strangest places, though they always seemed to work out so wonderfully. Celina smiled shyly, though, annoyed a bit at herself at the ink that she'd now have to pay for but get no used out of not to mention as she looked up, two out of her three quills had also gotten stuck in shelves higher than she could reach.
As she stretched herself to try and get her quills she listened to Mike and giggled a little. "Wrong idea? I don't quite understand," her voice soft as always, and her chocolate eyes met his and rolled. What in the world was that Huffle talking about. They just had some of the....best or worst, depending on the situation.....timing. "Yes, but if we keep bumping into each other, we'll always know that we have a friend that is never far to find. Right?" Celina was rambling in her nervousness, and as she reached to grab the quill, she finally decided that it was no use. She just couldn't reach it. Pushing back some of her long black hair, she looked innocently at her taller friend. "Do you think you can reach that?" She said, pointing up to the quills and smiling.

Those eyes, why were they so intriguing.....was it just because of the deep brown colour or was it something else, maybe it was the secrets that they no doubt held behind them but why would he care for them, Celina and he were friends and nothing more as it was his decision to not get involved with any girls for the rest of the year.....in a romantic capacity that was anyway.
"That's a good thing I suppose, at least we will always have someone there when we need them"
He said flashing her a smile as he reached up and grabbed hold of the two quills and pulled them down from on top of the shelves and handed them back to Celina, before looking at the ink on the ground
"Don't worry about that....i'll pay for it"

"Oh, no....no, I can't let you do that," Celina argued with Mike. He wasn't paying for something she should have been more careful with. It was always like that. She messed up, and somehow she had to pay for it. Celina wasn't used to others paying for her mistakes in any way, and wasn't about to now. "Please....I got it," she said nodding her head reassuringly at the older boy.
Taking back her quills she looked at them and smiled. The tips were fine, as was the feathers in general. She sighed in relief at the luck of that. Sure the ink had broke, but at lease the quills didn't as well. They were a bit more expensive and her mother would surely be even more upset than what she would be from the ink.
As she looked around, a store clerk looked at the both of them and shook his head. Taking out his wand he cleaned the mess up and handed Celina a piece of paper. "That's the bill for the three bottles," he said, and walked away.
"Oh....they're very efficient here," even though Celina wasn't a bit pleased with herself, at least she could admire the functionality of the store. Looking back at Mike, she smiled warmly again, "Thank you, though."

"At least let me buy you some new bottles, because as far as I see it I was as much to blame as you were if not more to blame"
He said before he picked up 6 bottles from a small stand near the end of the aisle and smiled at Celina, she might of been able to argue the fact that he shouldn't be paying for the broken bottles but he wouldn't let her argue about him buying her some new ones.
"And no arguments about this either, i'm buying you these and you have no say in the matter"
He said shooting a sly wink at the girl as he led her over towards the next aisle and grabbed a few more books before heading for the parchment section.
"So.....how have you been?"

Celina reluctantly agreed even though, Mike's logic to her was totally flawed. If she had been watching where she had been going, she would have seen him long before running into him. Or so she thought, at least. But as she opened her mouth to say another word in retort, he had already picked up the bottles. The shy girl just sighed and turned her head away from him. "Fine, but watch it, kind sir. You're not a Prefect here...." she trailed off smiling as she spoke about his orders.
Celina giggled walking along side Mike as they turned into the next isle. Of course it would have to be the parchment isle she was looking for. What a pain that was to find after the fact. Celina sighed a little to herself again.
"I've been alright," Celina lied smiling hoping that her sadness wouldn't show through. What could she say to that? Her brother had turned into their father, their father was sick so was more easily irritated than usual, the start of the break went off with a bang with a bar fight including the Thorntons. No, there was no easy answer to that question but to lie, though, when had Celina ever been completely truthful to anyone about breaks or homelife?
"How have you been, Mike? Oh! I mentioned you to my brother like you wanted..." Celina smiled but trailed off a bit. She'd forgotten that that had happened during the night of the bar fight. Well, at least she hadn't lied this time.

"Yeah....I haven't been too bad at all, just been busy with family stuff and what not really.....especially seen as though my brother has hit that age and is dating now"
He said with a slight chuckle as he started to look through the various types of parchment scrolls and started to wonder why they had so many different types, because in the end did it really matter what parchment they used while they were at school. It might mean something once they were out of school but at the moment it didn't really phase him too much.
He grabbed a few handfuls of scrolls and piled them into his basket, not really caring if he had picked up too many, as it was always better to have left overs than to fall up short.

Dating age? "Is there such a thing?" Celina asked out loud and giggled. She must not have reached that age yet, or someone would have informed her of such a thing. She looked at Mike and smiled. "I didn't know you had a brother? Another Rolen....that has to be an adventure in and of itself," Celina jested and gave a shy, but at the same time sly smirk.
As Michael picked out his parchement and Celina checked over the prices and the differnt types. Ah, there it is, She said to herself as she picked out one of the thicker types of parchement and smiled again to herself. "What kind did you get? Is it thin or thick?" she asked Mike, totally refrencing the parchment she now held in her hand.

Mike laughed back at her comment about there being such an age and noted her shy but still sly smirk before opening his mouth to speak again.
"Of course theres an age.....he's only a year younger than you and yeah he's dating Matty Wentworth now, which is kind of a conflict of interests for me seen as though over the last four years Matty has been like a little sister to me, and of course she will still be for many years to come"
Then for some reason their chat changed topics to what sort of parchment they used Strange..... Mike had never really worried about it before, he generally just used what he normally used, but now that he thought about it....which in itself was strange, he would be using the thin as he knew that Krissy's parchment always had seemed to be a bit thicker than his own.
"Thin.....like I always do....not that I really thought about it too much in the past, I just used what I picked up and have used it since"
He said with a light shrug

"I like it thick, so that when I write it doesn't go through," Celina shrugged, not knowing exactly why it matter or why she had even brought it up to begin with. She smiled and held hers under her arm. " I tend to push down harder than I should I guess."
As she thought about what he said about his brother and Matty a bright smile crossed Celina's feature's revealing her small dimple on her left cheek. "I know Matty! She's such a sweet girl," Celina was glad with her knowledge of her classmates. It was a secret she would keep, but before her mother had told her to make friends, she probably wouldn't have been caught dead talking to anyone. It would have gotten in the way of her school work, and her dreams of getting an honor of somesort. Though, now that Celina was happier knowing her classmates, she found herself becoming a bit overwhelmed.
Celina sighed and smiled though, she wouldn't have it any other way. "Well, isn't it good that you see her already as a sister than?" she giggled thinking about the 'what if's' to a future she wouldn't jynx by saying out loud. However, she did find it somewhat humurous. "So, then...if there's an age though, what is it?" Celina was curious. She hadn't read an age in the books she read about crushes, love, and what went with it when doing research to for Felicity.

"She is, but still....she's like a little sister to me"
He said with a playful grin on his lips which just stayed there when he caught exactly what Celina had meant by her last comment, it was a nice thought though even if they were a long, long time away from that not to mention they still had hardships to go through and they were still only young in their relationship.
"I don't think there is an exact age per say, but more the age or time where one feels comfortable enough around a person to consider dating them"

Celina saw as Mike caught on to what she was trying to allude to. She giggled again and started to walk away toward another isle. Had she gotten everything she came for? Looking around, she remembered she couldn't leave until Mike did because he was buying her the ink bottles that she so clumsily dropped. She sighed a bit annoyed wishing he wouldn't do such a thing, but she figured she really had no choice in the matter.
"So," Celina said as she looked around the two of them. "Did you come here by yourself?" Elizabeth looked around a bit, ever so often looking at the clock that was on the wall of the shop. What was taking Celina so long to acquire her materials? She was becoming more and more anxious by the second, but she calmed herself. Celina wasn't one to not have a good reason to dilly dally, Elizabeth just wished it wasn't now.
