[ Physical Character Description: ] Nathan is a tall, broad-shouldered man with a fairly large frame and stands around 6'2". He's got the build of an athlete with big, muscular arms, strong shoulders and muscled chest because he's been an athlete all his life. From wizarding Quodpot to Muggle basketball, Nathan has played everything. He likes to work out and keep in shape, so he does it a lot. Nathan has short, dark brown hair with light emerald-coloured eyes. He also has a very boyish, baby-face with a lopsided grin. His skin is also fairly tanned from being born and raised in California. Nathan's a pretty good-looking guy and he knows it, but isn't really one to flaunt that.
Being a big basketball fan all his life, Nathan can usually be found in some kind of basketball gear including shoes and Air Jordan sweatshirts and track pants. He doesn't like having to dress up, but will if he has to. He cleans up pretty well when needed but it isn't one of his favourite things to do. His style is basically casual because he likes working outdoors which often leads to getting rather dirty so he doesn't like looking too fancy. Nathan is really a shy kind of guy and fancy clothing, he thinks, attracts too much attention. As for shoes, basketball style shoes are what can normally be found on his feet. Even the old and tattered ones.
[ Personality Character Description: ] Nathan is a shy guy who doesn't like confrontation. He doesn't like fighting physically, but will defend his closest family and friends if he needs to. He is a loyal guy and while he's pretty forgiving, betrayal is one thing Nathan can't stand and would never forgive. Loyalty is very important to him and has always been an important trait in the Lee family. Nathan is also the kind of guy who doesn't like a biased opinion and likes to learn about people for himself. Rumours and reputations don't really matter to Nathan and he prefers to find out for himself.
In school, Nathan was the "cool" kind of jock teenager. He's a sports guy and was the star of his Quidditch team, which lead to a big ego and him thinking he was just king of the world. However, due to circumstances (which will be explained in his history) Nathan has changed drastically. He had become a quiet guy who likes to keep to himself. He's fun to hang out with and enjoys company, but most of the time, Nathan is alone. He has also become more responsible and basically grew up pretty quickly at an unexpected turn of events. All in all, he's a pretty decent guy. Nathan isn't really anything special, but he's kind and considerate. He likes to help people and he doesn't see the point in being mean to other people.
Nathan is pretty quick-tempered. He gets angry easily, but he's also very forgiving and apologetic and can't really stay mad for long. He may yell and scream and get frustrated at times, but he doesn't like being mad and will have cooled off enough a few minutes later so he can try to fix whatever situation ticked him off.
While sports are his first love, Nathan likes working with his hands and fixing things. He likes the accomplished feeling he gets when he sets his mind to a project and finishes it. As a child, Nathan was always building things and fixing things and playing outside in his mother's garden, when he wasn't playing basketball. He helped his mom in the garden as well, and actually had fun doing it. He didn't care about getting his hands dirty, like most boys, and still doesn't to this day.
[ History: ] Nathan Royal Lee was born on July 25th to fairly rich Muggle parents, Roy (short for Royal) and Kim Lee in Hemet, California. In his day, Nathan's father Royal was a great basketball star and he pushed Nathan from a young age to do the same. Since he was old enough to hold a ball, Nathan developed the same love and passion for the game and played all throughout his years in Muggle school. Nathan was a great player and he knew it. He got a little bit cocky as he got older, but his dad taught him that even though he was great that it shouldn't go to his head. Idolizing every word that came out of Royal's mouth, Nathan listened and tried (unsuccessfully at times) to not be such a hot shot.
As he got older, other things started developing with Nathan. He was making impossible baskets from obscure angles and distances and had people convinced he was cheating somehow. Nathan could explain how he ever managed to sink a basket front center court when the ball had been falling to the ground a good 10 feet from the basket, and then swoop back up. The only thing he had ever done differently was close his eyes and wish the ball had gone in. And then it did. It wasn't until a couple days before his 11th birthday that everything started to make a little more sense. Nathan had been invited to attend The Salem Academy for Wizards and Witches, located in Salem, Massachusetts.
From his very first day, Nathan was good at almost everything. He started to gloat and get cocky again, and without his father's word, it only got worse. As he turned into an adolescent, Nathan thought he was the king of the world and could do anything. He grew more and more popular and had lots of friends because he was the school's star Quodpot player. Girls were starting to notice him as well and he soon started to believe he could have any girl he wanted. Except for one. Nathan noticed one girl who wasn't impressed with the star player reputation and he wanted her to notice him. Nathan started chasing after this girl who, at first, did not enjoy his company in the slightest. It was this girl that would change Nathan back to the nice guy he had been before Quodpot had taken over his life.
In his sixth year, Nathan and this girl, Haley, were starting to get serious. He had gotten over his whole macho thing and Haley had seen past that wall he'd built up and saw the nice, sweet and caring guy that was underneath it all. The student population (and that really was everyone because word traveled fast) was shocked at the new couple, the school's star player and the shy wall-flower girl were now dating. It was like any other teenage crush until their seventh year of school, after they had both turned 17 and decided to promise their love to each other forever. The two of them finally got married. It was another shock to everyone they knew, but because they were both of age, there was nothing anyone could really do.
Finishing school was difficult, being a married couple and having everyone stare at them all the time. To make matters worse, just before graduation, Haley dropped the bomb on Nathan that they would be parents soon. Nathan didn't know what they were going to do. At first, he freaked out and didn't want to be a father, but Haley convinced him that he should stick around and he did. And nine months later, Cooper James Lee came into the world.
Nathan's family supported him and his new family as much as they could before they wanted to teach him some responsibility. Nathan got a job in a bar, trying to support his family, but in the Muggle world. He knew Haley wanted to get back into the wizarding world and so Nathan, wanting to do anything and everything for his wife, started looking for a job somewhere in the wizarding world, as well as an apartment. He was able to get a job in a storein Diagon Alley that worked with plants and seeds. It reminded him of home and being with his mom in the garden like he used to and Nathan loved his job. Everything seemed to be going great for a while until one day while he was at work, his wife and son were in the Muggle world and got into a car accident. Cooper managed to survive but Haley didn't. Nathan was left on his own with his son, and has been for the last couple years. Now that Cooper is older, Nathan wants to get his son more involved in the wizarding world with a job at Hogwarts, doing something he loves. In hopes of trying to get away from everything and start over, England seemed like a far away enough place for a new beginning.
[ Pros and Cons : ] Nathan is a determined kind of guy and likes having hard projects to complete. He feels good when he gets something accomplished, but sometimes he just gets so stubborn that he won't stop until he's finished something. Nathan doesn't like failing and that was one thing his father taught him as well. He taught him to finish what he started and never give up. Nathan doesn't give up ever, even when he knows he should and that there's no way he can do something. He loves to help people, but Nathan spreads himself too thin, trying to help too many people at once and only ends up stressing himself out more than he should. He's a nice guy, be needs to learn to not be so stubborn.
As stated before, Nathan's very quick-tempered and any little thing can set him off if he's in one of his moods. When he's angry, Nathan is not the best person to be around and he's a big jerk for a while. However, being angry is not something that he likes to do and he calms down almost as quickly as he gets worked up. He's always apologizing and while it sounds rehearsed, he always is sorry. He doesn't want to get mad at people, especially his son, and when he does, Nathan always feels horrible about it.
Nathan knows all about reputations and what they can do to a person. He had the reputation of being a jock and a jerk while he was in school until someone saw past it all and saw the guy that was underneath it. He doesn't like judging people based on reputations and rumours about them because he knows that sometimes they aren't right and are just an act. However, sometimes they can be true and Nathan will have to learn the hard way about somebody if he listens to what others say about a certain person. Nathan knows he should at least into consideration what people say, but he doesn't and knows sometimes he should.

Nathan hunched over the grass protruding into the pumpkin patch in the grounds. His grey, grimy old undershirt had the sleeves rolled up as he worked in the dirt, pulling out weeds and planting more seeds in another sections on the garden. The sun was slowly starting to set behind him and the grounds were darkening. Shadows were starting to grow taller and the Forbidden Forest in front of him looked more sinister and foreboding than it did during the day. Cracking twigs and rustling leaves didn't bother Nathan anymore, for he had grown used to the sound after being there a couple days. Magical creatures, no matter how dangerous, fascinated Nathan and he always hoped something would come wandering out of the trees, even though he knew that would never happen. He let his mind wander off for a moment, thinking about what could possibly be lurking just beyond those trees until a voice shattered his concentration.
"Daddy!" yelled his son Cooper from the doorway of the hut that sat in the grounds. Nathan looked up and smiled at him, standing and waving his boy over to his side as he wiped the dirt off his hands and onto his pants. Cooper leapt onto Nathan and he smiled.
"How's my little man?" Nathan asked him. Cooper simply smiled his mischievous smile, meaning there was some sort of mess in the hut that Nathan would have to clean. The grounds keeper rolled his eyes and set Cooper back down.
"Come on, let's go clean it up," he mused.
