Accepted! Welcome to Hogwarts!
[ Full Character Name: ] Abigail Marie Scott
[ Character Gender: ] Female
[ Country of Citizenship: ] England
[ Physical Character Description: ] Abby is by no means a plain or average looking girl. She's a tiny little thing, standing only at 5'3" and weighing just over 100 lbs. She's got a slender body and a tiny frame, but she's far from fragile. Abby's small frame and figure give off the impression that she's a lot younger than she actually is, which often leads to her being underestimated as well. However, that is the exact opposite of how Abby actually is. She is also a very pretty young girl, and she knows it. Abby has always been a pretty girl, even from a young age. She has soft features with chocolate brown eyes, flecked with gold. She's got a cute little button nose that looks quite adorable when she scrunches it up. Abby's long, dark, hair falls well past her shoulders and is often curled, unless she is lazy (which is often) and she leaves it straight.
Abby's dressing style is fairly normal for a teenage girl. Having been raised in a Muggle home, she knows how to dress to blend in with that crowd, as well as a wizarding crowd. Abby prefers fitted clothes rather than baggy. When not in school uniform, Abby lives in jeans and fitted tees. She doesn't ever dress up, per say, or be too fancy but she likes to be casual and comfortable. However, unlike most young girls, when it does come to dressing up, Abby is the last one that will enjoy it. She hates having to be fancy and proper and would much prefer a pair of pants to a skirt. That includes the school uniforms.
When it comes to shoes, Abby is particularly fussy. Big, clunky boots are just not her style. Big, skinny Stiletto heels aren't her style either. Comfortable slip-on flats or classic Chuck Taylor Converse high tops are Abby shoe-of-choice and hates having to wear anything else. She has plenty of pairs of shoes that she takes with her when she travels, ranging in patters from skulls and crossbones to multi-coloured hearts and flowers on the flats, while she has a pair on Converse in every colour ever made. Often, she mixes up her pairs of shoes and rarely has two on that are the same colour or same pattern.
[ Personality Character Description: ] Abby is a fairly simple girl who doesn't like conflict. She's not a huge drama queen, but she is a teenage girl and knows that deal with other girls her own age will cause drama itself. However, Abby is a non-violent person and if trouble finds her, she always has trouble dealing with it. When trying to please everyone in the situation, Abby often gets herself into even more trouble. In order to avoid conflict, Abby has been a fairly non-social kind of girl. She likes having friends and hanging out with people, but Abby's really not much of a people person all the time.
While Abby tends to stray from the company of others, when she is around people, she's very friendly. She's a fun kind of girl and likes to laugh. Abby laughs easily and if you can make her laugh, you'll be on her good side. Abby hasn't always been friendly, however. When starting at Hogwarts, Abby wasn't very friendly and that was when the non-social attitude started. But since the end of this past school year (the one ending now) Abby has been more social and friendly with her classmates and peers. Also, Abby can be a little flirtatious. She's naturally flirty and bubbly around her friends and just enjoys life. She has changed a lot since starting at Hogwarts so many years ago and it a lot more open.
But not that open. Abby doesn't like to talk about herself or her family. She doesn't trust easily and is way too hard on herself. When praise is given to her, Abby really doesn't like seeing it. She doesn't think too highly of herself, not for any particular reason, other than she just doesn't. Abby is definitely not conceited at all and it's not that she doesn't appreciate people telling her if she's done something well, she just doesn't like it. She gets very shy when people do that and blushes really easily, which is a major pet peeve of hers.
Abby can also be incredibly stubborn at times. She doesn't ask for help and rarely accepts it. She's determined to do things on her own, and once she's rejected help from somebody, she doesn't change her mind. Really, she knows she can't do everything on her own, but refuses to admit that. She doesn't like being helped and that's probably never going to change.
[ History: ] Abigail Maire Scott was born on February 26th to Muggle parents, Charlotte and Keith Scott. Her father was a bartender, who had a younger sister he helped out because she had a baby at a young age. Abby never really knew her cousin Lucas Smith when she was little and lost contact with him completely when their common thread was killed in a car accident. The young girl grew up in a small house with just her mum in a small town called Colchester, just outside the busy city of London. She lost her dad at a young age, so she really doesn't remember him very much, nor does she remember her cousin. Abby's mum was fairly overprotective of her while growing up but other than that, Abby had a regular childhood. It wasn't until she was almost 10 years old that the weird things started happening.
At first, it wasn't anything substantial or worth another thought. Little things like misplaced items appearing when Abby took a moment to really concentrate on where she thought the last place was that she put it. Her mum hadn't noticed anything weird either until one day when the two of them were searching for lost keys and they zoomed out of their lost place and into Abby's hand. Shocked, the two of them weren't quite sure what to make of it. For a while, they ignored it and avoided talking about it for a couple months until another strange happening when Abby came home angry from school and cause the mug in her mum's hand to explode. It was then that they had to come up with some reason or excuse for why this had happened.
Nearing her 11th birthday, Abby received a letter inviting her to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She didn't know what to do with it, but something told her she needed to contact her cousin. Abby wasn't sure why, but she felt like she needed to talk to him. Low and behold, he turned out to be magical too and Abby was told by his mum that he was already off at magic school. Telling her own mum this, it was decided that Abby was to attend Hogwarts. Following her 11th birthday, Abby made the journey to Scotland to attend the school and has been there ever since.
For most of her time at the school, Abby was too shy to really get to know anyone and really flew under the radar. She was a wall-flower, simply because she knew some of the perspective of wizarding folk on Muggleborns and wished to stay out of it. However, hearing that her cousin was now attending the school, Abby tried to make it a point of being a little more social, in hopes of coming across him in the busy shuffle of life at Hogwarts.
[ Pros and Cons : ] Abby is a really sweet girl and when it comes to her friends, she'd do almost anything for them. She's always there when she's needed for a talk or a shoulder to cry on, but often its not reciprocated. Because she's so nice and too nice to call people out on it, she often gets walked on and used, simply because she's always willing to help. Abby tries to spread herself too thin and most of the time it just ends up worse for her. She worries too much as it is, and when a friend is in trouble, she worries even more. If more than one friend is in trouble, Abby's pretty much screwed.
Being quiet has its advantages. When Abby wants to go unnoticed, she can. During the Deva invasion, quiet was good and was probably what saved Abby from really getting into some trouble that day. Unfortunately for her, she doesn't really speak up when she needs to. Abby prefers to be quiet all the time, but that means she gets over-looked and usually ignored. Its not until she makes a big fuss that people really see her, which only ever gets her in trouble for causing a ruckus.
"Determination" and "stubbornness" are two incredibly different things. Yes, Abby is determined to do her best and come out on top without and shortcuts, but it also leads to her being incredibly hard-headed and stubborn. She doesn't let people in and she doesn't let them help, which is not only bad for her, its bad for her friends that want to be there. Abby knows how stubborn she is, but will never try to fix it. Which is just another fine example of her hard-headed ways. Often, she knows that she cannot solve a problem, but tries anyways. And when she fails, she starts getting down on herself about what she could have done differently or if there was something she could have tried.
[Role Playing Example:] "No, Mother. I can do it myself, for the thousandth time," Abby called over her shoulder, her head buried in her closet. Nearly toppling forward, Abby continued to rummage around in the pockets of all her pants, looking for those darn keys she knew she left somewhere. Usually, they were in a pocket somewhere and this girl was determined to find them. Burying herself even more, Abby ripped apart her closet, desperate to locate the troubling item before her mum did. Frustrated, Abby swore under her breath, into the soft fabric of her clothes which muffled the unlady-like words even more. Finally, she hauled herself out of the closet and looked around, seeing her mum standing behind her. She looked just as frazzled as Abby,
"I wish they would just...fly out of wherever they're hiding!" Abby grumbled, motioning with her hand as she said "fly." It was just at that moment that a soft tinkling noise was heard and a set of keys flew out of nowhere, landing in Abby's outstretched hand. Her eyes looked up slowly to her mother before going back down to her hand.
"Whoa."
