As Lianna slowly filled up her plate with a little bit of everything that looked tasteful (and a few things that didn’t) Seanna’s praise bounded into her ears and well, she wasn’t quite sure just how to take it. Praise for doing something she both knew was wrong and presently regretted? It defied all logic and while she had been about to reply to the Huffle with the very same answer, Sarsha’s ever shy but never the less impeccable appearance made it unnecessary.
She now had time to think about all she’d done, why, and all she’d done without knowing why and it was with her once again lost in her thoughts that her food remained untouched. And then of course with all of these thoughts there was the ever important question of just where Mark D’Angelo had gotten to? It was a question of such dire importance that she took glances around the entire hall except for further down the Hufflepuff table. No doubt wherever he was, he was waiting for her and for this she felt extremely crappy.
Why was it every time there was a feast, she found a way to make it miserable for herself?

Ah the new year, ring it in with bell, a ball, or flashy muggle lights. Ring it in however you please the outcome is always the same. There is always festivity and merriment at the forefront of it all. It just all depended upon what one’s definition of festivity was, and at the moment for one man that definition was formed by one long but simple word: Pandemonium.
Infiltration for the long forthcoming events had been simple enough to obtain and succeeded with minimal consequence. With Raynor and her trouble-senses locked away, and Ticloon nestled ‘safely’ under their protective wing it had taken little effort to trickle in the capable amount of manpower for the night’s objectives. As the mortal group of nineteen strong seemed to slip forth from the crevices and shadows of the Hogwarts corridors one could here the merriment and joy from the other side of the door. They were clad in robes of black, faces obscured by identity concealment masks spawned from the simple genius of the Weasley brothers. You see the Deva could see quite clearly what was before them, while the students would be left to guess at who their precise captors were. Only Robert himself went without such a device, he was quite certain all knew his face already.
It truly was a pity to his mind that such merriment had to be shattered as quick as a mere pane of glass, but it was required nevertheless. Perhaps now the Ministry would realize they were not dealing with mere children who could be pacified with a simple slap on the wrist… No, now they would understand the full sting of the hornets that they so tauntingly provoked at their politically high pleasure.
With a full head count of his ranks obtained and the moment of truth grasped in hand there was a silence of understanding among those gathered. Once through that door there was no going back, and for any to turn back at this now vital juncture the consequence for betrayal would only land then on page three of the Prophet. All were dedicated, reliable, confident and completely well aware of what choice they were making for themselves. Those truths coupled with a flawed building design and an entire force of silvery, metal, blade-wielding support a mere staircase away in reserve left nothing but success for the taking. With a final thought of “what if”, main and courtyard doors secured from within and the dream of misunderstood man flowing through his veins the missionary of a forgotten dream pointed his wand at the pristine oak doors and blew them away with a single word…
“Reducto.”
He allowed gravity not a moment’s hesitation for the splinters and light plume of dust to settle. No from the moment the doors blew apart he was setting forth on the path that was too narrow to turn back, shooting only one greenish blue stunner arcing toward the enchanted ceiling. If all went as planned, Hogwarts would be temporarily his and the wizarding world would be left nothing to do but submit or oppose. The time of Voldemort had done nothing more than set the stage for tonight’s actions; his dreams simply were not meant to be realized by his own eyes.
“Ladies and gentlemen, boys, girls and floating candlesticks alike, if you would kindly remain where you are for the time being put your wands in front of you and give me your attention I have an important announcement to make.” His teal-gray eyes surveyed those before him in a fast and brief sweep while his wand as pointed toward the High Table. “Anyone who pulls their wand will condemn those around them to a most unpleasant form of pain.”
And so the siege of the human mind commenced….

And then the unspeakable happened. Keagan couldn't believe her eyes as her most hated professor, and one of the most hated men in the wizarding world simply strolled into the Great Hall, after blowing the doors to the Great Hall away.
Scared, but not quite out of her wits, Keag refused to give up her wand. Of course, she wouldn't pull it unless it would do somebody in the Great Hall some kind of good, but as a student trained in Defense Against the Dark Arts, she couldn't bring herself to give up her only weapon. Only if someone she trusted suggested it would she. For now, she would behave as if she left it in her dorm, and nobody should be the wiser.
She was a Gryffindor at heart, and perhaps now she would actually live up to the name. Glancing to Corey, she grimaced. Why couldn't her parents worry more and keep her away?

Drew hadn't even gotten an answer when the blast of the door being blown out startled him. Drew cried out in surprise and there was a moment of confusion as the dust cleared and he stood up to see what happened. The man striding through the debris was one he knew very well and hadn't exactly planned on seeing at Hogwarts ever again. Drew sank back in his seat as Shaw spoke, not with a sense of defeat, but in order to give directions.
"Jeremy, I want you and Hannah under the table... now," he said in a low voice as he handed Emerald over to the first year, knowing the strong oak would protect them better than anything else.

Be happy she was here? Yes, that was definitely a temporary solution he supposed -- although the appearance of food was a much greater one at the moment. As he glanced around them while simultaniously filling his plate in the process, Corey noted that the Gryffindor table had filled up quite nicely over the course of multiple minutes. The seventh year nodded in acknowledgement toward the those around just as the hall was filled with both a rather loud bang and a chillingly familiar voice.
The end result when all settled, the school would find the Head Boy off the bench, on his back and now wearing the food which his stomach so longingly desired. And all he could say after this long moment of oddness was "What the bloody 'ell is he doing here...?" Was he the Head Boy, yes. Confused and in shock, defintiely. In a position to properly react and do anything, no. Why? Simple, his wand was in his dorm, he didn't need it for dinner...
What a time to be wrong....and..covered in mashed potato.

Mick's comment only served to make Fyona's blush return, but she said nothing. Instead she hung her head a little and let go of the mirror that was tucked safely away in her pocket.
"I wish I knew what was going on... most of the staff is gone...." Fyona brought her head up and looked over at the staff table again. It still lacked the teachers that taught them from day to day when classes were in session. "Yeah that is a bit disturbing isn't it?" She had noticed it early and was bit worried about it, but just figured that they would all arrive later or something. To keep herself distracted....and to keep Mick from making anymore comments, she looked at all the other people coming in and greeting each other. That was until the food appeared on the table. She barely heard the chime over the noise, all she saw was food. Her smile returned and she began grabbing at random items on the table, piling her plate high. "Oh thank Merlin, finally some food!" Despite her new riveted attention on the food, she remained aware that she was surrounded by other people and ate her first collection of food civilly. Unlike some of the other students around her who ate like they haven't had a scrap to eat in days.
She was in mid bite of some steaming dumplings when the doors blew apart. Surprised would be an understatement. She wasn't necessarily scared as she listened to him speak. Just more in shock of having the infamous Shaw standing there before after seeing countless pictures of him in the papers. Her mouth hung open and the food fell with small soft "plops" unto the table. The hand holding the fork still poised in the air. She was too surprised to do anything at the moment. Even blink, let alone do everything the man was saying. At least for now he had her attention.

Charlie remained fixated on her two targets, keeping her facade of oblivion like as she should. Obviously she had done this again and again, and to the same people, so she was used to listening to the announcements while she did her usual deal with annoying her friends. Rather automatically she had her wand on the table, tapping its stem until she heard seventeen words spoken by a true man of terror.
Her eyes shot up to meet with likes of one Mr. Robert Shaw. What the h-- "--ell is he doing here?!?" Her exclamations didn't extend the Great Hall, not if there was anticipated screaming. Merlin, she wanted to scream herself. Instead, her breathing first went out and then back in, coming in the heaviest and quickest form. Her tapping had stopped and instead she grasped the handle of her wand again, finding that she wanted the most security that she could.
"He's out to kill us," she murmured more quietly to herself.

As the doors blasted open, Celina still had her head under the table looking for her cat. Her ears rung, as she screamed and put her arms over her head. What was going on? Screams were heard around her, and still Emerald was missing. Slowly, after the debris had cleared, and silence was heard a bit, Celina rose her head. A familiar voice started to tell them what to do, and Celina's eyes only grew wide with complete and utter horror. Robert Shaw, one of their old professor's and known Deva, or at least that's what the papers said.
Celina's skin crawled as she looked right at the man and the entering....and the faceless people? Celina looked frantically at the staff table, back to the.....other people, and then for any way to hide, only realizing her cat was still missing. Slowly she looked under the table again....Emerald? Where had she gone....
Celina wouldn't know what to do if Emerald was hurt....what if she had been caught in the explosion?

Behind Shaw, he walked steady and tall. He was there for a purpose. One that both men saw differently, but at the same time the outcome was the same. Those who were pure would overcome the weak and ambitionless. Or so was discussed between Shaw and Jedynak. Or so was discussed.
However, all couldn’t be accomplished at once. One step at a time was pertinent to the execution of what their goals were and that’s exactly what he was doing with Shaw at that moment. But at that same time, with all he had thought about since his first meeting with Shaw, that was not the only reason he had agreed to infiltrate Hogwarts.
As Jedynak looked around, he took into consideration all he saw. Faces after faces of horrified, shocked, hate purged, and worried expressions filled his eye sockets, not that anyone could see them though. Covered by a mask of what seemed to be flawless skin, his eyes and facial features were supposed to be. He was too recognizable to be there unguarded, especially with who his eyes now laid on at that very moment.
He had read the articles of the news papers and had felt the hate rise beneath his ribcage even then. That damn auror from Diagon Alley was sitting there, his expression nothing but disgusting to Jedynak. He was one of the reasons why he agreed. Devin Brady was one of the reasons why Alfonz couldn’t say no. But he wasn’t the only reason. After his failed attempts at getting someone to protect her from the inside, he decided finally that it was his time to take charge and do the job himself.
Celina could be seen from where he stood. She had turned and her face was filled with as much horror as any one else’s. A pang in his heart for scaring her only made Alfonz more alert. He was her big brother, the one that was supposed to protect her, and all he had done since break was hurt her time and time again. Well, not this time. He would find a way to protect her from those “friends” of hers, and he would find a way to show her to the path the people that stood with him fought for. Alfonz looked away from her and with the hand that didn’t hold his wand out at his side, he played with the turquoise ribbon he knew that Celina knew all too well. But that was for another time.
He recognized other faces as well. Students he had met in the past that had either failed him by not accomplishing their duties, such as that Amberli Mortimer, and Drew Thornton. Both in his mind were horrible examples of pure. Maybe not in Shaw’s definition, but surely Alfonz’.
So, there he stood, slightly behind Robert Shaw in all his glory. Alfonz wasn’t there for the glory, or the campaign to get the Deva known, and Shaw knew this. He was there for himself, but in helping the Deva, not only did he become one, but he would ultimately get toward the same goal. A purer tomorrow for the children of today. Celina was one such child that needed help to build a purer and brighter future. And as her older brother, Alfonz Jedynak was about to help her more than he ever thought he could.

Deryn hadn't quiet made it to the Gryffindor table yet before the door was blasted into nothing. It was the noise than anything that made her scream and she whipped around, just in time to see a terrifying sight in front of her. Frozen on the spot, the Gryffindor just stood there, wondering what would happen to her because she was still standing. Even though her legs wanted to move in that ugly grey skirt she just had to wear this evening, they didn't want to run. They couldn't run. She was stuck on the spot, ready to be picked off if someone wanted to.

The blast of the door was enough to scare anyone and the screams that echoed in the hall didn't help, but having Drew tell him to get under the table really REALLY scared him. Jeremy knew who this man was. That was Shaw. Even when his mother tired to keep it from him, he had seen the pictures in the paper. Shaw was Deva and from what he got out of it, the Deva wasn't too fond of Mudbloods... which he was.
He clutched onto the cat despite her squirming. He didn't want her hurt anymore than he wanted himself hurt, and he slunk down in his seat, but didn't go all the way under.
"H...he said to r.. remain where we a... are..." he whispered back, pretty sure he would take any chance he could to hide. But right now, it looked like they were watching.

"Stay low. Stay close," Drew said in a low voice, not taking his eyes off of Shaw as he put his wand on the table. The kid was right. They'd probably all stay a lot safer if they did what was asked. No, not the bravest of options, but it was defintiely the smartest.
He gasped a little as another figure came in behind Shaw and the build of the man might have struck him as familiar if it hadn't been distracted by the fact that the man had no face.

Matty had simply been sitting there the entire time. She had chit-chatted with the new girl, and two the first ears for a bit. Upon the food arriving, the Fourth year had tucked in, and grabbed a bit of the food she liked. Not and then the girl would glance up to the staff table and see if the Headmistress or the Deputy had arrived yet, but no such thing had happened. It was then, that Hogwarts had a turn for the worse. The doors of wood split apart, splinters flying in most directions, dust, covering some. Then there he was. Shaw. Yes, Matty had been taught by him, and heard of the things he had done, but never would this event had crept into the girl's mind.
Almost choking on the food in her mouth, the girl swallowed whatever food was left in her mouth, as her face began to turn white with fear. Ladies and gentlemen, boys, girls and floating candlesticks alike, if you would kindly remain where you are for the time being put your wands in front of you and give me your attention I have an important announcement to make. which was then followed by Anyone who pulls their wand will condemn those around them to a most unpleasant form of pain.. The Fourth year glanced to the two first years on her side, and then to Mike on her other side.
The teen managed to fumble her hand down to her side, holding onto the younger one's hand. She knew that Maddy was going to be as scared, if not more, than herself, and would need comfort. The girl held her breath, knowing her wand was still hidden in her robes, and it wasn't going to move form there yet. If she wasn't taking it out, it wasn't doing anything, and Matty would be damned if she was going to give up her only source of protection yet. The Fourth year stole her nervous glance to Krissy, then to Seanna, and finally to Mike. How could this have happened?
Why?

Allegra had been about to answer Chad with a flirty and hopefully witty retort but what came out was a scream as the door exploded. The voice that came through the settling debris was one that was quite familiar and she cried out again as Shaw came in followed by a number of faceless wizards as if her voice alone could summon help.
"Oh, dear Merlin..." she gasped, clutching onto the table as her eyes fixed themselves on the Ravenclaws.

Chad's head snapped to the side as he heard an explosion and the door blew off. Without thinking, he stood up and drew his wand until he heard someone telling them all not to. Chad lowered it, stuffing it back into his pocket quickly so it wouldn't be noticed by Shaw, but he didn't stand down. "What do you want?" Chad yelled, regretting it a second later, knowing something bad was coming his way.
