Mark. Food. Break. Food. Stupid mistakes... Thought, after thought, after thought echoed through her mind as the hall was suddenly filled with a deafening roar, a number of piercing screams (her own included) and the voice of a man many in the wizarding world was long dead. As Robert Shaw's voice filtered over the hall and into her ears, it's mennacing tone chilling her to her very heart she instinctively shrunk herself under the table while tugging on Sarsha's arm lightly but forcefully in the process.
He's here...he can't be here...Hogwarts is safe, this school is safe...I..he...I want... Her thoughts became jumbled and fragmented as she realized she wanted two very simple but currently unreachable things: Mark, and her father. And they were both apparantly, with one certainly very far from her sight and reach. Shaw, the Deva, wands...she didn't know where hers was, couldn't even remember if it was on her or not. Her heart was racing, her mind foggy, right now everything was like a slow-motion blur and all she could do was glance around and hope nothing happened to her...
or anyone else.

As the door exploded and sent bits of wood into the hall, Ryder instinctively jumped to his feet, wand out. His food went flying and drink tipped over, spilling onto the table and one of the professors sitting nearby. He didn't know what was going on, but it was his job to keep these kids safe and he would do it to the best of his abilities. Shaw's words, however, stayed his hand, though he did not lower his wand. Maybe a bad idea, but Ryder could think of nothing else to do. One spell and one of the kids might get it. By Shaw's tone, Ryder could tell it was not a joke. But then, he should have known that the moment the door was blown in.

Maddy took the girls hand and shook it. "Cairi... That's a really pretty name." The young first year smiled nervously, and let go of the girls hand. She was having so much fun, meeting new friends, and seeing her older friends again. Maddy turned to Sally and smiled at her, she seemed like the opposite of Maddyson. For starters, Maddy was really loud and hyper, as Sally was caring and funny. Funny in a good way though... Maddy thought to herself. Sally's brown hair was gorgeous, Maddy wished she was a brunnette. Blondes were always considered the people to be without common sense, but Maddy still liked her hair colour.
Maddy was still 'analysing' Sally, when she saw her fellow first years face bright up. Maddy glanced down at the food and laughed, "Finally. Better make sure I save room, I can't wait for desert." Immediatley, Maddy picked up a slice of pork and placed it on her plate. There was so much food, but there was no need for her to hurry. She poured gravy onto the meat, and cut off a slice. "Well, here goes." Maddy took the first bite into the square of pork sitting upon her fork. "Uhuh... Mhm... Dat's good stoof." The young first year laughed, her mouth still full of meat. And that's when it happened.
Maddyson gasped loudly, when the door was blown apart. "I love watching people do magic, aye?" Maddy whispered to Matty, not knowing the severity of what was happening. But Maddy wasn't born yesterday, when the leader that Maddyson couldn't recognise, as she had never seen him before spoke. Ladies and gentlemen, boys, girls and floating candlesticks alike, if you would kindly remain where you are for the time being put your wands in front of you and give me your attention I have an important announcement to make. Anyone who pulls their wand will condemn those around them to a most unpleasant form of pain.
Oh no... Maddy had heard about a gathering of evil wizards, and she knew that these people must be them. Almost simultaneously as Maddy's realisation, her hand was held by the girl nex to her. She looked up at Matty, the youg blondes eyes full of tears. Her breathing pace increased, and she could feel her heart beating faster. Still looking at Matty, she squeezed the older girls hand, somehow she felt safer in her presence. Then Maddy remembered Sally. "Sal." She whispered, slipping her hand onto the other first years. Even though her eyes had been tearing before, it was now that the young girl broke out into silent sobbing. Her tanned face turned a blotchy red, and she felt cold, tired, scared. "Matty..." Maddy whispered, before leaning back into the girls arms.

Matty glued her eyes to the figures, their faces fuzzy and un-able to recognise whom the others were. But she knew him. The Hufflepuff bit down hard on her lip as she felt the younger girl's hand squeeze her own. Maddy wouldn't have known exactly who this man was, but she may or may not have seen the papers, thus explaining what he had done. And to think she used to be taught by him. One rather brave Professor, or should Matty say ref, questioned the group on why they were here, as another joined his wand motion It was then that the teenager heard Maddyson's soft crying beside herself.
She felt the younger girl's head rest on her arm, her body seeming to hide beside Matty's own. "Maddy, calm down..." the girl whispered, trying to fight back the fear that swelled in her tone. The girl's green eyes watered as she let out a shuddering breath. "We won't let them hurt you..." the girl mustered the words from her heart, desperately hope this was some sort of hoax, but deep down Matty knew that was a lie. Fear swelled greatly through her guy, turning over any other emotions like cement. This was real, and there was no way out. There was nothing that they could do, no one that could save them. The needed a miracle.

This was a vacation. At least-- according to the attendance records in St. Mungos. Yet it wasn't a cakewalk. Sienna knew this the minute she had placed the mask on her face and her face became nothing; her world, though changing everyday, would become just a bit more interesting than usual.
That day, she had woken up, got dressed, watered her plant, ate, read a bit of a book... and then went on to infiltrate Hogwarts to take them by storm. Everything was the norm until the obvious end fact, and it just overstepped the alibi of hers-- her, Sienna London, would be in Spain exploring the historical parts.
However, in a way, she left Sienna London there. And from then on, she spawned a new identity, grown and raised by her openness for new tactics on getting this message across. From the rest of it, she was happy to take the backseat in the definitive mission. Sienna hardly saw herself as a leader, and taking back her role of the follower gave her a clearer mind for what was ahead of her.
As of now? What was ahead of her was a table full of Gryffindors, taking on the faces of confusion, horror, and disbelief. Underneath her mask, she let a smile creep in. The last time she had made her way into the Great Hall was in her second year before her mother took her away from the school. Normally that would have been a memory to shy away from, but Sienna took this in stride. This was... how would you explain it?... a sincere thank you to Hogwarts.
And that would start with the wand that she had pointed to the students.

The students slowly but surely gathered in the hall, as was to be expected. Finally when all the staff managed to find its way to the hall, much slower than the students the feast began. Devin's first feast since leaving in his seventh year. He gathered his food quietly, not speaking to anyone, not that he really had anyone to speak to. Looking down at his food he decided it was time to eat. So without a sound he picked up his knife and fork, only after placing his napkin on his lap, and dove in, well as much diving in as Brady could do.
It wasn't really until the imploding doors that Devin really noticed the knot in his stomach, one which had been there since entering the room. To tell the truth the attack was to be expected. The Headmistress hardly left her office from what Brady heard, and she hadn't even come to hire him... it had been Raynor. Plus the fact that she was now out of the picture added more reason for the Deva to attack. So really when one took the time to think about it this was a long way coming. It was as if time had been working in slow motion, and when everything settled, not a flinch had come out of Devin Brady.
Slowly and calmy the auror... or ex-auror if you will placed down his untensils, chewed and swallowed his food, and took to his feet. The chair made a good amount of noise as it slowly, but surely slid out from behind him. He drew no wand, but instead slowly walked all the way across the back of the table, which was basically the entire table. At every person standing with wand drawn he would stop, and whisper, "Do what he says and put your wand down," pausing only to add, "For the safety of the children." Again he would slowly, but surely make his way from behind the table till he finally found himself face to face with Robert Shaw, well there was enough distance between them.
The calmness of the man was really extrodinary. He was not only known for quickly getting angry, it had in fact lost him a job, but this time it wouldn't happen. He would be calm and clear headed. He stared the man clearly in the eyes, but didn't make an advance to attack, no instead there was something in his eyes... Respect. This man had out done them all, out witted them, and had taken Hogwarts. He had outsmarted, Raynor, and outsmarted him. He might not like him, but he had surely won his respect.
"Robert Shaw, the most wanted man in England, I would place you under arrest, but I no longer have that power. Instead I'm going to have to agree with Mr. Embers. What is it that you want?"

One by one the professors seemed to be trying to take control but Drew knew it wouldn't happen. None of the men now standing had had the business end of Shaw's wand pointed at them. Drew had and he knew the man would have no problem cursing them just for a laugh. Or heck, why not any of the hundreds of kids who sat between the Deva and the head table?
"Down... now..." Drew hissed at Jeremy, this time pushing him under the table and hoping he took Hannah along with him.

All Shari could think...no fathom...was the single thought: WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON? I'm going to die aren't I? She burst into tears. She was next to in consolable as she crumbled to the floor. First Didi dying on that spike in India, then this? She bawled. Crashing to the floor, Shari seemed to drift out of time into some place else. Minutes seemed like hours, hours like days, seconds like years of her life ticking away. Somehow, she managed to crawl to the wall. Would they actually kill her? Did she had a chance?

"Well I don't know," Lily said, answering Kyle. He was a nice kid. "I have been away, studying at a -" The explosion of the door interrupted Lily's speaking as it held her attention. What was going on? Why had the door exploded? Last time she checked, that wasn't a normal Hogwarts occurrence. And then there was a guy, whom she vaguely recognized, ordering them to lay their wands before them and that anyone who drew their wands would mean death to the people around them.
Lily thought briefly about the wand in her pocket. She hadn't had a chance to unpack yet and she always kept her wand on her when traveling, so she still had it with her. One small lucky thing. She felt like banging her head on the wooden oak table, except that she knew she had to stay calm. Why did she pick now to come back? Why didn't this kind of news reach them in Germany? At least the defense against the dark arts class there had been rigorous and she wasn't going to be afraid to put up a fight. Not that she would have been at any rate. She wasn't going to surrender her wand, no matter who told her to, because, as she knew, so very, very well. She would need that wand, more than almost anything else.
She glanced up at the professors with their wands drawn. She was going to remain as calm as possible and hoped her face showed it. They ought to put their wands away. One person did not attack Hogwarts; groups of people attacked Hogwarts and they were no match without a plan. She was going to need to talk with some of her other house mates, Drew and Hiro among them, and Allegra if she could manage. They were going to need a plan, but right now, safety was key.
She looked then at Kyle. He was so young, only twelve. She couldn't let anything happen to him. She had to protect him, no matter what the cost to herself. He should not be facing this event that would potentially traumatize him for life. "Kyle, listen to me." She whispered, her voice low and urgent as she turned towards him. "Do not do anything other than what they say; use the brains I know you have as a Ravenclaw." That was supposed to be a message that he would keep his wand if he had it, because, of course, any wands they could commender from whatever sources would be helpful. "Stay where you are, but if I tell you to do something, do it all right?" Lily didn't want to tell him to go under the table; she was hesitant to go against that much more visible part of the order, but she would push him under the table if necessary. She itched to draw her wand, but knew she had to stay calmer than that. She clenched her fork hard in her wand hand, because it prevented her from going after her wand.

Maddy attempted to take a deep breathe in and out. But by this time, her sobbing was rapidly increasing, from a simple hiccup, to who knows what. Maddy could only hope that they didn't pick her out of the crowd for making noise, or anything. Maddy's head was resting against Matty's arm, and her hand holding the older girls. Maddy reached her head up to the older girls ear. "What about Bindi? I don't want her to get hurt at all." The young blondes head fell back down to the level it was before. "I'm sorry Matty." Maddyson felt as if she were going to faint, as she was both physically and emotionally exhausted. Why did this have to happen, especially when Maddy was a near defenceless, vulnerable, naive first year?"
Again Maddy took a deep breath in and out. This actually did make the first forget some of her worries, and feel calm, happy, but only until she remembered what was going on. She looked at Mike and Krissy, wondering how they were feeling, whether they were too scared, and then at Cairi. This was one of her first days, Maddy didn't know if it was her first day or not, but she knew that the girl must be freaking out. The young blonde didn't know why there was one man without a mask, and the others were concealed. Maybe he was the leader of the 'gang' Maddy didn't know.

Looking under the table, Celina searched dearly for her cat, Emerald. On the bridge of panic, she listened and noticed as Drew told his younger cousin to get down on the ground. Looking toward the three, Hannah included, she saw it. A tail, and then the rest of Emerald's black body squirming in the boy's arms. She meowed and freaked out a bit. Moving down the table near the three where there was space, she made her way to the ravens hopefully not being noticed by any of the faceless. Though, noticing that Brady had left the staff table and was now acting as a distraction, she would have applauded his bravery if she wasn't still pissed at him. As she neared Drew, Celina briefly glanced at Drew, worry flooded her eyes for everything that was going on. She then looked under the table back to Jeremy and Emerald.
"It's alright, Em..." she cooed lightly. Slowly the cat began to settle and purr within the boy's arms. "Can you hold on to her for a bit, Jeremy? I...I...she'll need someone strong to protect her. She'll be calm....promise," Celina tried to smile, but as she thought about her cat becoming hurt at all a tear welled in her eye and fell to the ground.
She returned to the table again about to speak to Drew, but had nothing to say. Well, almost nothing....looking at the table, and staring at all the food that no one had any ambition to eat, she quietly said, only briefly exhaling as she nervously held her breath....."What's going on?"

Becca had been finding the whole evening rather odd. No speeches, no welcome, no announcements, just the food. She wasn't sure why she had left her animals for this, but seeing that she was there, she had decided she might as well eat her meal.
When the doors shattered, she looked up curiously, thinking the noise reminded her of the stampeding erumpents she had seen on safari once. Curious creatures actually and she knew that the men drawing their wands were doing so pointlessly. Mere spells couldn't harm an erumpent.
The good thing was that the creatures apparently had shattered the door but then not entered because when she looked up to warn the children to get out of the herd's way all she saw was Professsor Shaw. Now this was even more curious. She could have sworn he had been fired.

He watched as some of the members decided to pick a table to stand at to guard and decided to do the same. Jedynak knew exactly what table he wanted to point his wand at, not to mention make sure everyone was doing according to what they should have been. Being that Shaw had given clear orders it was time to make his move, or so it would have if Alfonz didn't notice the particular man he was glaring at just moments before. Was he really approaching them? No, had he really said what he just said?
It Jedynak could laugh, he would have died doing so. This man was even more ridiculous than he had been in Diagon Alley, and without his wand, he was one hundred times more vulnerable. It took every ounce of effort for Alfonz not to just raise his wand at the man and knock him flat on his ass. If Celina wasn't there, he could have done so without even much thought about it. But, she was, and he still had to make her realize what was right and what wasn't. Not to mention, Alfonz had no idea how much Brady had actually gotten to his younger sister being at the school.
But still, Alfonz couldn't believe the nerve that Devin Brady had. It must have been something that they had taught at auror school. Either that or he figured that they just sucked out Brady's common sense. And had he really just said that...it was almost too much for the older Jedynak, and his patience was already growing thin with the man. Just seeing him was enough to fire him up, and now he had to go and play hero. Alfonz moved to Shaw's side, nothing he would have done normally being as though Shaw was in charge of the opperation, but Alfonz wanted Brady. Not now, but if it happened or if someone decided to be smart, Alfonz Jedynak wanted him and he wanted Shaw to know it.
He crossed his arms and a cheekbone rose because of the growing smirk on Jedynak's face. The Ravenclaw table could wait a few moments. From where he stood, he had full view of the hero, and he wanted to make sure he was put back in his place....in the seat where he was foolish to ever leave from.

The small Gryffindor grinned at Larissa as she spoke to him. "The rest of mine was pretty good, I hung out with my family for Christmas." he said with a small shrug, before looking up and down the table. "Oh, Hey Felicity!" he said with a grin, feeling bad for not seeing her in the first place. The First year then smiled at Keagan as she returned to hello to him. The boy tapped his fingers on the table, as a mean of entertainment, and various other Gryffindor's arrived. Some he knew, others he didn't. Soon after the boy began to think of something else he might of been able to say to Larissa, the food appeared. Wonder smells filled his nose, and all sorta of delicious foods spread out along the table. Immediately, the Gryffindor boy placed a chicken leg on his plate, followed by a potato and some other stuff that looked good. Jet chopped off a small piece of the potato, and popped it into his mouth. The taste was great, as was everything that Hogwarts provided for them.
Then it happened. The doors. The dust. The wood. The gasps and cries of fear. All followed by a cold, hard voice that stuck in Jethro's throat. His blue eyes glanced over to Keagan and Corey, filled with pure fear. The small kid listened to what the man was saying, having absolutely no clue who he was or what he was doing here. One thing was for sure, that kid knew he wasn't suppose to be in Hogwarts. Obviously he wasn't welcome here. The boy shakily reached into his pocket, and fumbled out his wand sliding it into the table under the curve of his plate. Yes, that boy was terrified, and yes, he had no idea what to do. But at heart, that boy was a Gryffindor, and he wasn't about to risk it.
Jethro took a deep breath in, and that action steadily his pumping heart down a notch. He didn't know how Larissa would be taking this, she wouldn't have a clue, alike him, and it was even worse considering this was her first feast. "Felicity..." the boy almost silently said, wondering if he had managed to catch her at a time if she would notice the boy. Merlin, help them.

It seemed like forever but the tears finally stopped coming. Shari felt numb. She had cried harder than she could remember ever crying in her life. There were others crying too so she didn't feel so ashamed of herself. She still couldn't shake the feeling of shock, but now it was replaced with nothingness. Maybe it would be better to be quiet, not draw attention to herself. She'd need to try to get somewhere that felt safe, and it might be prudent to try to think through all this confusion. Where did she feel most safe? Obviously in her room. From the looks of it, though, getting out of here wouldn't be easy at all and she was still too scared to be daring. She was over by the Slytherin table, for whatever reason, and she thought crawling back to the Ravenclaw table might help. She began to move without really willing herself to, as if on a cloud, as if not here.
