Keagan had quite a bit of difficulty getting down to the Great Hall from Gryffindor Tower; it seemed to her that there was a group of students on every floor that needed herding down to the mandatory feast being held in the Hall shortly. The Prefect doubted tardiness would sit well with whoever was in charge of the gathering.
She did eventually make it down herself, though, and none to soon, as the Hall was already beginning to fill up quite nicely. Sneaking past the group in the doorway after seeing that Drew seemed to have the safety of the Badger girl covered, Keagan caught Hiro's comment and laughed to herself, deciding that teasing Drew just wasn't in order at the moment. Instead, she made her way over to the Gryffindor table and slid in beside her fellow seventh year, nearly forgetting that he was no longer her Prefect partner.
"Hey bud, how you doing?" She noted that he didn't look too pleased.

"Um... hi" Claire uttered when this other boy greeted her. There were few occations which the firstie had been called 'miss' and that was mostly when she was in trouble, so this kind of address was a bit surprising. Now the boy himself seemed to be a bit familiar and it didn't seem as if he was any older than herself but it was safer not to make any comments about that for the time being.
"Don't think I remember seeing you too much around the school. You a first year?" Claire asked. Perhapes it wasn't too much to start there, at least before the firstie revealed her own name. But the boy seemed harmless enough so Claire didn't worry too much as she brushed some of her black hair from her eyes.

It took a flip of a knut to land her in this joint. Yeah, the other side would have reflected the other consequence of being in the dungeons, hanging out in her dorms until the feast was over. But no-- it was mandatory and because of the knut it was chance. So even the best two out of three wasn't going to save her from the boredom of clapping politely at the new news. At least she was going to score some good food with that.
Getting into the Great Hall, Charlie surveyed the usual people. Yup, they haven't changed in the last two or so weeks. So hadn't she. Despite the internal conflict with her family, she wasn't going to turn emotional over it. She just had to take a different approach and try not to have her brother escape before he inflicted more harm on others.
"Gotta get my grub, gotta get my grub," on her way to the Slytherin table she chanted to herself the alliteration until it became a bit of a song. "Heh--they decked out the tables tonight. Gotta get my grub..."

Jeremy thought he was already late so he ran down from the Common Room to the feast, his tie still clutched in his hand. Tha banner caught his eye but more curious was the group of very large people waiting by the door. Figuring that he wasn't all that late after all seeing that a queue had formed, Jeremy got behind the others and waited to be let in.
Why it was only Ravenclaws in line, he wasn't sure, but he figured this would be a good time to ask for some help. "Can someone help me with my tie?" he asked in a small voice. He never seemed to be able to get that stupid knot right.

” Hey bud, how you doing?"
The approach of his both fellow classmate as well as housemate hadn’t gone completely unnoticed; he just for some reason hadn’t expected her to take a seat by him. Quite an easy thing to assume and while the consequences of assuming are generally quite high, so far these seemed mediocre. Even her question seemed to carry little harm to it, open-ended and answerable as he pleased. Just his type of question indeed!
“Right now? I’m a combination of famished, bored an’ annoyed. An’ the only reason annoyed is in the list is because of those bloody lights on tha’ stupid banner – they’re drivin’ me right bonkers lookin’ at ‘em. There just ain’ anywhere else interesting to look at—staff table’s practically empty, an’ I ain’ the narcissistic type to stare a’ my reflection in an overly shiny plate either.” Corey replied with the slightest of shrugs. One may also argue that he was grumpy, aggravated, or seemed just downright buggered; but this could easily be attributed to typical male hunger, no?
However company was company and while the feast showed no signs of suddenly getting underway, he wouldn’t deny that conversation would help pass the time. “So how were the holidays, merry and jubilant like you’d hoped?”

Drew loosened his hold on the girl but only after he was sure no one else was going to run into him from behind and topple him over. They had seemed to gather quite a group, mostly of Ravenclaws and he heard his cousin's voice towards the back, sure the kid needed help with his tie. At the begining of the school year, Drew had done them all up for him but it was a guarentee that they had been undone by Jeremy's mother over the break. Drew reached back and pulled on the kid to bring him forward, not sure when prefect duties included dressing firsties.
"Just admiring the nifty banner, I guess," Drew answered Hiro, just noticing the sign himself. As he spoke, he did up Jeremy's tie in a proper Windsor which was hard with the kid squirming. "Ticloon went to all this trouble to announce the thing, you think that means she'll finally show up to this one?"

Elizabeth was not in a good mood. Not at all. Not that anyone would be able to tell a difference from her usual demeaner. She never looked to be in a good mood. Usually she looked grumpy. Today, though, she looked angry and on the verge of tears. It was a good thing she was back at shool again. She didn't want to deal with her siblings or her parents or...or her...dad. At least that's what the man who'd stopped by on Christmas Eve had been claiming. Elizabeth hadn't allowed him to say much on that visit, though, and promptly slammed the door in his face. He had stopped by again, dressed in his odd outfit of a nightgown under a bright green suit coat and gator slip-ons, right before the girl had to leave for school, giving his blessing that she might do well. Of course her brother and sisters had to make the trip to the station a bit of a nightmare. Taunting her that they had been right all along and that they would tell her dad of their unexpected visitor. Her mum had sat in drivers seat, mearly ignoring the kids behind her. Yes, it was best to pretend nothing had happened in her oppinion. It didn't matter that the whole situation made Elizabeth feel even more lonely and unimportant to the family. She would shove it all away now, knowing no one would listen or even care, and go back to her usual self. That's how she had to do it at home and she would do it here, too.
"Get out of the way," Elizabeth barked at the crowd gathered around the doorway. Big kids, little kids, it didn't matter. She shoved her way through them anyway, paying no mind to any who might've fallen, and made her way to the Hufflepuff table where she sat down as far away from everyone as she possibly could.

Es didn't really want to go because she wasn't hungry, you see. Her stomach was in knots, but the good kind, she thought. All because of two boys that were very close and very dear to her. The first, was Brandon her boyfriend, of whom she loved so much. The chemistry they had could probably burn the whole place down. And second, Dean one of her best friends, whom she thought she had lost forever. And then thought she would stay forever mad at him. But neither were true. She just couldn't stay mad at him, it was impossible. She ached for him too much.
So the happy feelings inside of her were staying for the moment and provided her with plenty of energy but no feelings of hunger or pain. Infact, she had stubbed her toe earlier and although it throbbed for awhile, she felt no pain. It was wonderful, like she was floating on air. So Es finally made it down to the mandatory Feast and sat down naturally next to Nic, the place where she felt the most comfortable. Besides when Brandon or Dean were there, that is. But, neither of them were there. A little discouraging, but she didn't care.
She grinned wildly, brushing some black hair out of her blue eyes.
"Hey Nic, how's it goin'?"

"Hey easy, there's plenty of food for everyone." Hiro called to an impatient student who shoved past the four ravens in an unpleasant manner. "Another banner? What's this one say some attempt to cheer people into a school spirit? My guess is probably not, she's not exactly one for big events."
The return from winter break was never a big event in the past years but this year there was a feast that was going to be as grand as the start of the year feast. Even though Hiro didn't read the daily prophet he did know the rumors that spread from the papers of the few students who stayed. The world was falling apart and this feast was supposed to keep up the moral of the students. Times were bad and Hiro knew it.

Her first feast. Larissa was so excited to be here tonight, as it would be the first feast she would be attending at her new home. She hadn't really had a holiday, becuase she hadn't been here before hand, but the weeks leading up to her coming to Hogwarts, was extremely fun. She had met one person, Jethro, but not at this school. To tell you the truth, Larissa had (and quite literally) bumped into the boy during the yule festivities. She didn't know that they were on, but they were fun nonetheless. Larissa could only hope Jethro was here again tonight, for moral support.
Tonight was the night she had been looking forward to, so she hadn't even touched her robes, not even taking them out of the bag they had come in. She wanted to look perfect, as she would be meeting a heck of a lot of people tonight. Larissa had spent ages plaiting her hair into two braids, and scrubbing at her face to get the dirt and ink marks off. You see, Larissa was a messy first year, a typically messy first year. Instead of playing with dolls, she'd play in the mud, and get dirty.
Bounding into the Great Hall, Larissa's jaw dropped in awe. Of course, she'd been in here before, but it hadn't been decorated the same. In fact, she had seen it during daylight, but in the night it looked so much better. The stars on the sky mesmorised the girl, she couldn't imagine them to be any better. The young girl skipped to her table, not yet recognising anyone, but still smiling just as bright. She found her way to two Gryffindors, both a lot older than she was. "Hello! I'm Larissa. I'm new." She said, with a proud smile on her face. Suddenly, Larissa wished she hadn't said anything. The girl, well she looked nice and happy, but the boy was a different story.

"Bloody hell..." Jethro mumbled to himself, fiddling with the collar on his robes. "It'll do..." the rather tall Gryffindor boy finally said, pushing back his fringe and stepping out of his dorm and making his way to the Great Hall. This would be one of the first feats Jethro had. Sure, there was the beginning of year feast, and that had been amazing. It was there that Jet had been applauded greatly for becoming a Gryffindor, that pride still swelled within the young boy. The first year had experienced a great Holiday.
The boy had been able to spend a good amount of time with his family, and especially Craig. He went to the Yule Festive and met up with some friends, as well as meet a new friend, Larissa. She was a nice, funny and cool girl, his age and coincidently enough, in his house as well. A new friend was making up for an old one at the moment, as sadly enough Jethro Stevens hadn't seen Summer around lately, and this both made his heart drop and his face flush at the same time. It was an interesting mix of feelings for the boy of such a young as as eleven.
For now however, the boy tried to tame his hair that was sticking up all over the place. His robes were rather neat, more than usual, placed straight and no creases were on them. The Gryffindor made his way into the hall, walking with his head tited back in able to admire the gorgeous decorations (and an uncanny banner) standing along the ceiling of Hogwarts' Great Hall. Jet didn't take much notice of the absences of the Staff Table, he continued to look around for now. A smile graced his face, however, as the boy spotted his table, filling up with his own house mates. Jethro sped up his pace a little, hurrying over to where Larissa sat, opposite Keagan and Corey. "Hey Liss." he said with a while, taking a seat next to his friend. "Hey Keagan, Hey Corey." he said with a smile, being able to remember the name of the older girl from Tristan mentioning her, and Corey was the Head Boy, so he had to know that. "How were the rest of your Holidays?" the young boy added, turning to face Rissa with a smile.

Maddy was so excited to be back at Hogwarts. She loved seeing her family, but this was better. Hogwarts was like the big family she always wanted, sometimes tow siblings weren't enough. Maddy had planned on returning to the school earlier, but the pressure to spend time with Eryn and Jordyn was too much on the youngest girl, she had given in. But her cruise was awesome, and so was the Yule festival, so at least she had fun. But all the time Maddy was waiting to come back to hogwarts, to see Matty, for some gossip about what she had seen over the holidays, to see Krissy, for a hug, and Mike, also for some gossiping. During her adventures, Maddy had bought a couple of presents for some of her Huffles. A small badger toy and a postcard from France, were the perfect present for her friends. As the young girl entered the great hall, she opened her mouth in awe. It looked absolutely perfect tonight, as it did whenever there was feast. But no matter hom many times she entered the hall, it always had the same effect. Maddy, dressed in her black school robes skipped her way happily down to where she noticed Seanna. "Seanna!" Maddy ran to the girl and sat down beside her. "I just wanted to say Hi. Oh, sorry." She said, knowing that she had interrupted something. "I'll be right back..." She said, almost disregarding her whole last sentence. To tell you the truth, part of what had just happened was why Maddy was skipping away, as she was embarassed from interrupting something, but it was mostly for a different reason. "MATTY!" The first year yelled, running up to Matty Wentworth, a fourth year Hufflepuff. Maddy wraped her arms around the girl, in a tight hug. After letting go of the older girl, Maddy brushed her hair out of face, and in her normally cute voice said, "Hiya Leto." Matty grinned at her boyfriend, before turning around slightly as Alexander arrived on the scene. "Hey Alex." she said with a small nod towards the boy. It was then in no time, that the Fourth year's name was bellowed from the table, and the small girl called Maddyson Cross ran to Matty. No sooner had the older girl realised what was going to happen, the smaller girl's arms were flung around Matty, pulling her into a tight hug. Matty grinned and giggled a bit, already having to have let go of her boyfriend's hands and grab a hold of the younger girl. Maddy was like a little sister to herself, and she was simply so cute. "Hey lil' one." the girl said in a sweet tone, looking down to the younger student before letting go as well. Matty then stifled a laugh when she merely said hello to Leto. Gorgeous kid. It was then that Krissy arrived, looking rather neat and tidier than usual. Matty grinned and managed a small wave to her friend. "Hey Krissy." she said, knocking back the idea to say anything about Leto, as Matty could clearly read the look on the older students face. The Fourth year eyed Seanna suspiciously with a questioning grin, and turned back to the little one in front of herself. "If you go grab a seat I'll meetcha there in a sec," the girl said politely to her friend, mainly suggesting it than anything, as Maddy seemed eager to talk to Matty. "I'll talk to you a bit later, Leto?" she said with a smile, placing another small kiss on her boyfriend's cheek. "Have a good feast." Matty said with a small wink, turning and taking a seat at her own house table a couple of places away from the newer-looking girl. "Hey. 'Re you new?" Matty asked the girl with a smile. She looked about her age, although the Hufflepuff hadn't really seen her in her own year. Proves that you couldn't know about everyone in your house, but there wasn't a better time than a feast, right?

Larissa sat quietly, hoping that she hadn't, for the second time, interrupted a conversation. Although the Great Hall was beautifully decorated, she couldn't help but feel cold in such a large area. Larissa shivered and looked down to the empty plates before her. "When do they fill 'em up?" The overly hungry first year asked, unable to stay quiet for more than a moment. "Like, is the food really nice? Or is it like, camp food stuff?" Larissa was scared that the food wouldn't be so nice, but at least she could owl home asking for some food. Larissa reached up to brush her fringe out of her face, as she recognised a familar boy.
Instead of running up to greet the boy, Larissa stayed put. She didn't want to seeem weird infornt of the head boy and prefect, she'd much rather he came to her. What if he hadn't counted her as a good friend as she had for him? Maybe the boy had other friends, maybe he only hang out with her so he didn't look like a "loner". Larissa's insecurities left when the boy looked at her. "Phew." Larissa was relieved for him to be coming towards her. Maybe they would be good friends after all. "Heya Jetty." Larissa paused while he greeted the other two. Keagan... Corey... Larissa aquitted their names to her memory and faced Jethro once again. "They were fantastic! How were yours?"

[If any staff member could please delete that, I'd really appreciate it. Sorry, the system logged me out ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png) ] Sally crept slowly into the hall, once again her terrible nerves kicking in. The Great Hall was starting to get crowed with students and she felt shy in front of all them. She was also tired from the trip, and all the adventures she had had over the break. She had spent most of her time, catching up with her horse Two Socks, and riding on the trails that surrounded their property. And of course she had spent some time with her family, and she enjoyed it but she was also glad to be to able to see her other family, Hogwarts. Sally breathed in a deep sigh and admired the Hall. The decorations looked spectacular. She walked quickly over to the Hufflepuff table, noticing a few faces she had seen previously in the common room. She couldn't wait to see her friends again. Sally had missed them over the holidays. Looking around Sally spotted one of them. Maddy, a very energetic bubblely girl, much the opposite of Sally. Still, the girls had gotten on very well on their first encounter and had been friends ever since. Sally was about to go over and see her, but Maddy was with another girl. Sally didn't know the other Huffle very well so she decided to stay where she was and hope Maddy noticed her. Maddy felt nervous when she realised that Matty had been holding hands with Leto. The young first year had probably interrupted something, why was she doing that so much? Maddy smiled and blushed, it was too late to worry about that. "What were you two doing? Smooching, I guess." Maddy joked around. As a first year she had a very brief knowledge of love, and she didn't understand the bits that she did know. But that was yet another thing that didn't really bother the girl, as she would find that out sooner rather than later. Matty, in Maddyson's opinion, was exactly what a big sister should be. Nice, caring, and pretty. Eryn was almost exactly the same age as her, and the two didn't act superior to one another. But still, there was no "big sister" of the two, and Jordyn, was a boy. Big brother were a heck of a lot different than sisters, mostly because of their rough nature. But tht didn't mean that Maddy didn;t like hers, she just wished she had a sister too. Following Matty's orders as if she were a drill sargent or something, Maddy said, "Okies. Bye bye Leto. Have a fun feast." Maddy wasn't sure whether Matty was just trying o get rid of her, but she didn't care all the same. "SALLY!" When Maddy turned around to take a seat on the hufflepuff table, when she noticed her fellow hufflepuff first year. "Sally! Over here!" Maddy ran over to the girl and sat down opposite her. "Hey Sal! How was your holiday?" The young blonde questioned. "I hope they were good, I know mine were. Oh. Come and sit over here with me!" Without waiting for a reply, Maddy rose and skipped over to where Matty was sitting talking to a girl. "Hiya, I'm Maddy." She said to the girl. Maddy smiled happily, looking around at some of the faces sitting at their own house table.

"What's this I hear about you smooching with my brother"
Mike said with a huge grin on his face as he walked past Matty after throwing his brother a wink. He had walked in just as Maddy had mentioned smooching and any fool could put two and two together and realise that she had in fact been talking about Matty and Leto, the two which at the moment seemed inseparable.
But yet Mike was happy, for the both of them as he knew what Matty had been through over the last few months and he also knew that Leto would look after her. It was evident already that the two shared a bond that was surprisingly strong, but Mike guessed that was because of the fact that Leto had already met Matty's father.
"Hey there Maddy"
He shot a grin in the younger girl's direction and waved to her.
