January 14th, 9am (Hufflepuff table)
The position under the table that Seanna had held since being back from the entrance hall was getting beyond uncomfortable. The blond sixth year had tried to sleep, tried to get some rest, but she had too many thoughts running through her mind and she couldn't control the endless traffic of what could go wrong circling around in her brain.
Sitting up a bit too fast, Seanna hit her head on the table and let out a small groan. This was just to much. Now she had to deal with the pain on her forehead as well the traffic in her brain. Rubbing her hand on her forehead, Seanna gingerly got up and pulled herself from underneath the table to the upside of the table, finally sitting on one of the Huffle chairs.
They were still there, all the faceless people were still there. Seanna sighed, she had finally come to terms that they were going to be there and she had decided that she wasn't going to be scared of them anymore. Brown eyes finding the one near the Huffle table, the girl gave it a smile before finding some water and drinking that. The sixth year figured the water was safer than drinking the Pumpkin juice that had been left overnight.
Seanna sighed again, putting her glass down and letting her head drop onto her arms that were curled up on the table. Maybe this position might be better to sleep in than an uncomfortable position under the table. Not that she probably would sleep, but if she could only just close her eyes for a minute and rest for awhile. Then she might be able to sort through all the traffic in her brain.

Sleep? Maybe a little. His eyes were shut as his head lie on the table and his body had gone numb. Alexander wouldn't have called that sleeping, but it was close. And unfortunately, a lot lighter than he would have liked it to have been. A bump on the table, shaking everything woke him suddenly as his head popped up and he was looking around, waiting for whatever that had awaken him to hurt someone or something. But nothing happened.
A few seats down he found that one of his house mates was rising from underneath the table. Maybe he should have tried to sleep on the floor after Lianna and Krissy were all set the night before, but he hadn't and for that he didn't sleep well at all. Seanna put her head down on her arms and tried to rest again. Alexander moved down a few seats next to her, gently nudging her elbow and giving a slight laugh...
"Were you the one who made the table shake?" he asked her jokingly.

"Table shake?" Seanna asked, knowing just whose voice that was that had asked something about the table shaking. How could she not know that voice? Apart from Mike and Pat, he was the only other boy in Hufflepuff she talked to. Well, truth be told it was only that one time and the blond probably wouldn't forget the way they had meant, either. It was a rather smelly moment.
Bringing her head up from the table, resigning herself to the fact that she was never going to get any sleep, Seanna rubbed at the spot on her head where she had banged her head. "Oh" Suddenly Seanna knew what Alexander was going on about. "Yeah, it was me. I hit my head when I sat up and forgot I was underneath the table" It hadn't helped that she had grown somewhat over the break, now she reached 6ft instead of the 5ft and 9" she was before break. The prefect really understood how the younger years were feeling being stuck under the table. It was the most uncomfortable place to be.
"How's the other end of the Hufflepuff table holding up?" Seanna inquired, wondering just exactly how Krissy and Mike were holding up down there. The blond had decided to stay put for the meantime up her end of the Huffle table, she could keep an eye on the Deva member that was guarding the table and who Seanna could now see fully instead of just their feet. However, she was dying to know just how the other Huffle's were doing and yes, she was even concerned for Mike.

(So...so sorry ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) ) "Is your head alright?" Alexander said thinking that it must have been, for his friend didn't look to hurt. Alexander looked down the table at the other side. Just the night beore Krissy and him had spoke, and for who she was, she was exactly as she probably should be. it was Lianna that Alexander was mostly worried about, but even then the Head Girl seemed to have her comforted more than he ever could have. "It seems that most people are hanging in there in their own way....Lianna's not doing too well, though Krissy was comforting her well enough it seemed. How's this end of the table? Hanging in there?" he asked her back not knowing what else to really say. There were Deva infultrating their school and everytime Alexander turned around, Krissy was doing something unnecessary, and it had only just begun he feared. "It's gonna be a long day..." he sighed.

Seanna gave Alexander a small smile. "Head's okay, it's just the thoughts running around inside them that are giving me the biggest headache" Seanna frowned when she heard of Lianna. The girl knew the younger girl wasn't doing too well and she herself probably didn't do that much good comforting her, the panic had set in really well the night before and she had been trying to control that and at the same time keep her younger years safe.
"Krissy's okay? Matty and Mike as well?" Seanna questioned of Alexander. The blond head girl hadn't talked to any of them and seeing as how Alexander had said Krissy had been comforting Lianna, she had figured the boy had least seen her friend and the other Huffles. If she could, Seanna would gather all of them in a big hug just to know that they were okay.
"Sarsha's scared, but that's to be expected" Seanna informed Alexander of the younger huffle under the table. "I'm not doing exactly okay... I'm only hanging in there" Seanna finished off. It was only a day that had been gone since the Deva had took control and it was only now that she had come to terms that everything was changing.
"That's for sure" The blond head dropped and brown eyes turned to her lap. The nights and days were going to continue being long as long as the Deva were around.

"Hey, it's alright..." Alexander said as he placed on Seanna's arm and rubbed it a little. "I'm sure every thing's going to be fine. Krissy's, well...being herself, so you know she's doing well. Mike and Matty seemed alright last time I saw them, of course by that I mean as alright as any of us are." Alexander looked at Seanna and tried to give a comforting smile. Not that it would help much but he had to do something.
Taking his hand away, and placing it on the table, his smile faded as he looked out at the scene. People were trying to sleep, though it didn't look to promising for anyone, even the professors looked off. Alexander wondered how long this could really go on for, though. What were the Deva even after? Alexander scratched behind his ear, as he did it made him realize that he hadn't even taken a shower in more than twelve hours or so, and it was disgusting. Not to mention, his face was going to break out if he didn't use his products, and his teeth, he was sure, would rot out of his head if they weren't brushed soon.
Alexander tried to calm himself. He didn't want to look like the biggest fool, he doubted anyone else was worried so much about themselves as they were the others around them so he played it off as he was. "It's going to be alright....a few more hours and I'm sure we'll be free again. I mean, how long could this possibly go on for..." Alexander trailed off and chuckled nervously...yea, how long could this really go on for?

(I know. I'm sorry ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) ) Seanna was glad to hear that the other Huffle's were doing okay. Especially Krissy and Matty. It was more them she was more concerned about than Mike, as much as she did like Mike, Krissy had a tendency for finding trouble and acting on that trouble and she worried about Matty because well, Matty was still considered to be one of her younger Huffle's she had to protect and she knew Mike was old enough and big enough to look after himself. Had to protect. The girl hadn't done a very good job and she knew it. Instead of protecting, she panicked, which was one of her downfalls in a emergency and she knew she probably scared the younger Huffles than protecting them and making them feel safe. Some prefect she was. Seanna bit her lip and she took a few deep breaths, feeling that panicky emotion starting up again. "Everything's not fine. Everything's changed. Nothing is going to be the same anymore. It's not going to be all right and we're never going to be free again" Seanna stopped and continued to look down at her hands, peering at her nails in which she could see dirt building up in them. Not that she cared. Even her nails were changing and she was powerless to stop that from happening as well.

"Woah...it's ok..." Alexander whispered to Seanna, covering her hands within his own. He squeezed them gently, and looked at Seanna, hoping her face would look towards him. "It's going to be alright....yes, it may change...but we have to survive this. We'll be fine....I promise..." Alexander's promise was as full as he could make it. He wasn't about to let anything happen to any of his friends. He'd keep them safe...even if he had to put himself in the way of any curse or hex that came their way.
Putting his arm around Seanna's upper back and resting it on her shoulder, he pulled her into himself and held her for a bit hoping that she didn't feel uncomfortable, but at the same time he wanted her to feel safe. "It's going to be just fine..." he cooed to her softly. "How was your break?" Maybe switching the topic of conversation would work?...

Without realizing she was doing it, Seanna let Alexander pull her into him and she rested her head on his shoulder, still looking down at her hands which had the dirty nails that was now covered with his hands in which Seanna squeezed them back. Promising that things would be all right wouldn't change her own thoughts and Seanna had never held highly of promises, someone was always bound to break them in the end.
"My break sucked" Seanna said simply and it had, but knowing that Alexander had meant well, but a change of conversation wasn't going to help in this situation when she wanted to talk about the current situation, but she didn't want to be the one pretending that everything was going to be okay, when she knew that it wasn't.
Finally, her brown eyes tore themselves away from the hands and she finally managed to look at Alexander. Seanna didn't need to be mollycoddled-- though being in Alexander's arms was nice-- she didn't need the truth to be stretched because it might make her feel better, she just wanted someone to talk to, to stop her from panicking again. "How do you know, though? How do you know that everything is going to be all right and fine? We can say that, but we don't know... " Seanna trailed off, brown eyes returning to the hands and she gave them another squeeze.

Seanna's hands and body were warm at least, which to Alexander meant that she at least was keeping herself going. Though, he feared that a fever might have been setting in for his friend, but he said nothing about it. He didn't want her to worry about anything more, especially if a cold might have been getting to her. He took one of his hands and brushed some of the hair out of her face, and smiled. "Because, I have faith that things work out in the end, and no matter what happens...good prevails. Even if it seems to be in the smallest of ways, and bad things are happening...people with light in their goals and achievments will win out," Alexander whispered to his friend.
Alexander thought of his parents and how they had met. It was a story that he treasured every time they told it to him. His mother hit by a car in a country that she didn't even belong to, the man in a suit that came to her bedside to set everything right again, and eventually love blooming and winning over all that had happened. "Everything happens for a reason, Seanna...it really does." His hand that was around her body brought her in closer in a friendly hug, and a warm smile crossed his face as he tried not to think about how disgusting he must have been or how many days it had been since either of the two of them took a shower. At least it's not owl dung... he thought to himself.
"Plus...how are we supposed to meet up in the owlery again if this doesn't end?" he asked jestfully, but softly as he gave his friend a wink while he continued smiling.

Her blond hair must've felt dirty. Laying on the floor and the table it's self had turned it too a musty blond and Seanna sighed again, thinking wistfully of her once brown hair, but thinking her once brown hair really didn't matter at this point in time. Nothing mattered anymore. Maybe it was the over tiredness she was feeling, but Seanna was ready to give in. Give in to the dark and let them win.
Allowing herself to remember that time, Seanna had to let out a small giggle. The girl could see that day when her and Alexander had first met officially as clear as it was yesterday. "We could always re-create it here. Though, I haven't got my wand to wash you off this time. We'd have to go with the water or the pumpkin juice" Seanna added, as she thought of that time, she remembered how much she was missing Percy and her thoughts turned dark once more.
Oh, she knew everything happened for a reason. It was one motto she did believe in, but what was the reason for this? and her own light of goodness was failing, she could feel it. "What happens if there's not enough good to prevail, though?" Seanna asked, her brown eyes again watching the hands in her lap. The blond knew Alexander meant well, but her fears and insecurities were coming to a head and she had no way to stop them.

"'Tis true, we could," Alexander laughed as Seanna spoke about recreating the experience. He really had no intentions of any sort, but if it helped to keep her minds off of things, Alexander found himself almost wishing he could do anything for his friend. No, they weren't that close, but he hated to see anyone in a state of suffering that had been nice or had shown him some sort of kindness. Seanna had done that, and so he didn't mind helping her out. Unfortunately, he asked her another question that only one's faith in what good was could help them out there.
"And what if there is? Trust me...it doesn't seem as if they are out to hurt....I mean, Shaw's stopped his men a couple of times already from being foolish...I think we have an advantage and he knows it....this is why he doesn't do anything. He fears our numbers....I'm sure of it." Alexander tried to reassure Seanna, but at the same time...he too wondered if that was the only thing that was keeping Shaw from killing or hurting someone.

Trust him? Seanna had a hard time trusting anybody. There were only a few people she trusted and she had doubt's even about them sometimes. "It's an advantage, but not much of a one. They're still more powerful than us and Shaw's probably the most powerful one out of all of them. Then there's the thing that other students could be giving in as well" If she could feel like this, Seanna was sure there were other's like her that were giving into the dark.
"I don't want to feel this way, Alexander. I don't like feeling that the situation is hopeless and there's no way out of it. But there's nothing else to make me think that this situation is hopeless. Utterly hopeless. They have the power, not us" Seanna nodded her head emphatically, knowing her statement held some sort of truth. Besides, they were students and the other's were adults. There was the added advantage right there.
Seanna held onto Alexander's hand tightly, not really wanting to let go out of it. The hand felt strong, most likely dirty, but his hand felt strong nonetheless and Seanna needed to feel that there was something that was strong, even it was just a hand. Especially since she herself felt anything but.

As Seanna spoke, and hung tightly to Alexander's hand, he could feel her pain. He too was worried, but he also knew that by giving in to those who were in the wrong, they were giving all the power in the world to these people. It was as if they were the jury in a courtroom, and if they started to give in to what the plantiff was saying and doing, than the defendants would lose the case. In this circumstance, for all of the younger students sakes, teh defendants couldn't lose, for those were them. They were the defendants, defending all that was righteous and good. Alexander felt like doing something rash, but he calmed his mind. There'd be a time for that, but right now, where he sat was where he was needed.
"Hush, now a bit..." he cooed into his friend's ear. "What power they have is what they are given when we let in to the darkness and the fear. We have to stay strong, and by keeping our bonds strong, we are winning. Don't worry...if we keep our houses strong and together, then we'll win..." Alexander trailed off, but still believed everything he was telling her. And then another thought came to his mind.
"Have I ever told you, Seanna, what my father does for a living?" he started.

Alexander's words were true enough, and Seanna knew it. The only thing that remained was, that she was giving into the darkness. Maybe not the fear, no one had permission to make her feel scared besides herself. It was the darkness that was taking over her. The feeling you get when everything is wrong and there was nothing you could do to ever make it right again... that was the kind of darkness Seanna was feeling. The girl was feeling like she had failed, somehow, even though she knew there was nothing she could do.
Alexander started talking to her again and as much as she felt she was being mollycoddled again, his words were having some effect on her. Worrying was one of her favorite sports to do, along with panicking and those two things combined together for Seanna was like a ticking time bomb waiting to happen. Alexander's words were calming her down just a little bit.
Brown eyes looking up at Alexander, she slowly shook her head when he asked her if she had been told what his Father did. "No, I don't think you have ever told me what he does for a living... what does he do?" Seanna asked quietly and genuinely interested in what Alexander's Father did do for a living. Maybe it would be better to have a change of conversation.
