Welcome to Stonehenge Music Festival 2008 – an event that promises to be the best of the century. Over fifty artists are performing in a span of three days, with vendors selling food, beverages, and more. Open to the entire wizarding public, including students, there is sure to be a high turnout. This is a great opportunity for some summer role-playing, and a great way for your characters to interact with those outside his or her normal group of peers.
The administration is open to your questions or concerns regarding the event. Please PM Nick Taylor (sn: nick) and he will be happy to assist you. Below are some frequently asked questions regarding the event, so please check here first.
Q. When and where is the music festival taking place? Where are the stages, food, etc.?
A. I highly recommend viewing this (click) map of Stonehenge, from the Wikimedia project. Note that the actual Stonehenge monument (what you are seeing as the event) will serve as a “commons” area. That is, no stage or vendor stand is actually inside the monument. Everything is in the area immediately surrounding it. The strip of food, beverages, and other vendors are located to the northeast of the monument (nearest #5 on the maps). The stages surround the monument in a circular fashion, in a clockwise direction. Magical sound barriers prevent those listening to the music at stage #1 from hearing noise from other stages and the commons area.
Q. What about the Muggles?!
A. Plenty of security enchantments have been put in place by the Ministry of Magic. If a Muggle approaches the area, he or she will suddenly remember and believe a superstition regarding the loss of limbs after visiting the monument. Additionally, plenty of aurors and obliviators are standing by and ready. Feel free to mention non-played characters in passing or directly in your threads. Ministry of Magic personnel, you are welcome to be “on duty” at the event by performing various MOM tasks. See your section leader or Nick Taylor for more details.
Q. Am I allowed to start threads or just reply to the initial thread already posted?
A. You are welcome to post in the beginning thread the administration has posted. However, you are more than welcome and encouraged to start your own threads in the Stonehenge board. Remember that timestamps are always helpful, but not required. Stonehenge related threads should stay in the Stonehenge board, unless you left the Stonehenge event, in which case the thread would not be Stonehenge related. Normal posting on other, regular boards is, of course, still welcome.
Q. I don’t have anybody to role-play with, what should I do?
A. The great thing about the Stonehenge event is that it’s designed to allow you to role-play with anyone. Hogwarts students, who might otherwise have no reason to role-play with someone who works at Flourish and Blotts now have the perfect opportunity! Start an open thread (as simple as buying a slice of pizza or watching a performance) and there is a good chance someone will take the bait and start role-playing with you.
