[ Physical Character Description: ] Delilah is a pretty looking girl. Not terribly stunning, but not horrible to look at either. With black curly long hair, and eyes too green to look natural, she stands at the short height of exactly 5'0. Most would say she looks like a porcelain doll. She hates knowing that that's what she really does look like, and tends to straighten her hair when there's time. Magic does wonders for her in this department. She has small doll-like lips, and big, big eyes. And to top it off, the doll-like button nose to go with the whole ensemble. Delilah dresses in jeans mostly, black sneakers, and her hair down. Her favorite accessory is her diamond earrings, a present from her mother before she went to Hogwarts. She can't stand her eyes most days. They get terribly dry for absolutely no reason, and it's hard to convince others that she really isn't crying. She has fair skin, which irritates quite easily. With a keen sense of smell, she knows whats what. She has tiny feet, and has to get her shoes from the kid section, which is both annoying, and embarassing. In Summer, her complection receives freckles, not just on her face, but everywhere that the sun may hit. Once again, annoying, and embarassing. Everything about her is tiny, hands, nose, feet, everything. One would mistake her for a thirteen year old when really, she is in fact, sixteen.
[ Personality Character Description: ] Delilah doesn't have many friends. Well, she did, until she moved a year ago. She really does try to be friendly and look out for others, but with everyone thinking their life is terrible, it's hard to lift peoples' spirits. She's pretty well given up on others, but is willing to give people a shot if they don't seem too dreary. She's fairly clever when it comes to school, but her real talent lies in her people skills. Her weakness, some would say, is that she cares too much. She can be stubborn sometimes, but at the same time, knows when to lay down her pride. She'll only break rules when there's a greater good that needs to be achieved. She has a very non-procrastination attitude. A good friend, loyal, trustworthy, and true, she wants to help anyone she can.
[ History: ] Delilah was born on October 17, 1992, to Patricia and Darwin Morine. An only child, she was spoiled beyond belief by everyone in the family. Right from the start, she was surrounded by wizards and witches a like. As a small child, she sneezed and caused quite a disturbance. This was magic in the making. Growing up, she's only ever known magic. It's greatness... and it's awfulness.
Her parents often spoke of the famous Harry Potter and Voldemort incident, and always warned her not to make friends with the wrong sort. That never stopped her from wanting to be-friend everyone though, and this caused some heart ache on her part. It's hard to be-friend people who turn their backs on you, or worse yet, stab you in the back. This hurt and betrayal has made her bitter at times, and have a hardened heart. But when someone really does ask for forgiveness and a second (sometimes third) chance, she's more than willing to offer it. No matter what, she's always willing to see the better in people, and truly believe that they've changed and now want to be her friend. She never forgets the wrongs that are done to her, and she easily holds grudges. And never lets go.
She's never been through anything life threatening, or terribly hard, but she has heard of the struggles of others, and she tries to help them out. She often wonders whether this is a good thing or not, seeing as if nothing bad has happened to her, it's only a matter of time before something sinister comes along, and her problems only ten-fold. Sure she's had her struggles, her peer-pressures, but she's always looking up, and can only hope that once something huge and terrible happens to her, she has the same attitude, and can get through it with her head held high, and smile on her face.
Her parents are quite proud of her, but think she can work on that sarcasm of hers... She can't wait to start the new year at Hogwarts, and hopes to become one of the professors... right here at Hogwarts.
[ Pros and Cons : ] Her friendliness. A friend to the friendless, and willing to help any soul in need, this is one of Delilah's good points. Although some may argue it is a weakness, she can't help herself, it's in her to help others, and make friends of everyone.
Her enthusiasm. She always likes to see the glass half full, and put her best foot forward. To go into every situation with a smile on her face, and the ultimate goal in mind. She does this mainly to get others involved, and happy to be doing any task, or going through any situation.
Her laugh. Now this may sound odd, but she has this laugh where she snorts, just like a pig. This gets everyone else laughing as well. While some might think it's cute, and laugh with her, others often laugh at her. She can be sensitive to this, but for the most part, she doesn't mind her laugh, and is happy that it can brighten peoples' day.
Her sarcasm. Although she's usually in a good mood, she isn't always, and when this happens, she replies with sarcasm, and mocking tones. She feels bad afterwords, knowing she could've been a whole lot nicer than she was, but this side of her rarely comes out.
She's a pureblood. This doesn't mean she's evil or anything, her mother was in Hufflepuff while her father was in Slytherin. An odd pair, but her father wasn't snippy or vile like most other Slytherins. In her mind, Pureblood, was merely the state her origin is in, it shouldn't have to define who she is. This is only a weakness, because she attracts evil people to her, because they know she's Pureblooded, and because she can be sarcastic and mean at times, she makes friend with, 'the wrong sort'.
Her sensitivity. Although she's an optimist, she spends a lot of nights crying, and wondering if she's going to be alone forever in this world. She gets hurt easily by comments, and takes practically everything to heart. She's learning to not do so, and take things in stride, but this is a process she has not yet mastered.
[Role Playing Example:] "Good bye mum," Delilah said, hugging her mom, and turned to her father, "bye dad, write soon will you?" She asked, a smile spread across her face. They both smiled back at her as she boarded the train, off to her next year at Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
She walked down the aisle, looking for an empty compartment to sit in, hoping for a quick nap. She knew that sleeping made everything go by faster, and just wanted to get to the school already. Sometimes it was nice to be blissfully unaware of what was going on around her. Delilah finally found a vacant spot and sat down. Before she could even decide to close her eyes, another girl stepped into the compartment with her. She was a couple years younger than Delilah, and looked really really unhappy to be here.
"Hello." Delilah said, smiling warmly. The other girl raised an eyebrow at her, and looked out the window, completely ignoring her. Delilah was not impressed with that response. She sighed and looked out the compartment door, at the other students passing by. She could feel the train moving, and let herself get into it's rhythm, and fell asleep.
"Whats all the noise about...?" She could feel herself asking. Her voice sounded groggy and tired. "Hush up over there." She heard a feminine voice answer. She forced her eyes open a bit more and saw the girl that was there earlier, with two other students, another girl, and a boy. They seemed to be planning and scheming. Delilah rolled her eyes, and looked out the window. "Do you have a problem or something?" The boy asked. Delilah turned and glared at him, "Perhaps you should learn to respect those in higher grades than you." She said, her voice coming off cold and harsh. The younger students didn't speak a word after that. Actually, they left the compartment completely, leaving Delilah alone, and still tired.
She felt bad for a moment or two... Then decided that those youngsters weren't even worth her time. She thought of possibly going back to sleep, but there was no room for that... the train had arrived.
