Accepted: welcome (back) to the Wizarding World!
Name: Ivy Xin
Gender: Female
Country of Citizenship: Ireland, UK
Age: 20
Former House: Hufflepuff
Physical Character Description: As a famous supermodel of both the wizarding and muggle world, Ivy has an exotic and sweet beauty that one only sees every once in a lifetime. Ivy knows and relishes the fact that women secretly envy her physical beauty. Ivy is “well maintained”, one can say. Her hair varies depending on what the company’s needs and her hairdresser Rico’s mood swings. Usually, she wears it black and dramatically straight with blunt bangs framing her face.
Ivy stands at a tall 5’9”. She loves her height, but has a hard time finding a suitable boy due to her height. She always wears high heels, usually stilettos, and it makes her even taller than she truly is. Her lanky figure is comparable to that of a boy’s (she’s an American size -1), but she has her feminine softness. Ivy’s face and skins seems to have an unearthly glow. Despite her height, her feet are unusually small due to the inheritance of the Xin genes.
Her gorgeous eyes are almond shaped. She has been blessed with beautiful, dark eyelashes which bring more focus to her large, long, slanted eyes. Thanks to colored-contacts, her eyes are the color of amethyst. However, sometimes she’ll wear clear contacts just to switch it up.
Personality Character Description: Ivy likes to think of herself as "mysterious, daring, sophisticated, sexy." Well-- she is definitely sexy-- but she is certainly not mysterious, daring or sophisticated. Instead, Ivy is flamboyant, expressive, and anything but soft-spoken. Her confidence exceeds what is humanly possible. She isn't exactly stupid, but she does lack common sense in dealing with people. She often realizes too late that she has hurt other people emotionally from being self-centered.
Ivy initially appears to be rich, spoiled and irritating, but under all that overwhelming hair, expensive perfume, makeup and fake eyelashes is a sensitive and caring person. Although confident, Ivy knows that there is a lot that she needs to work on. She’s not exactly the next Gilderoy Lockhart, she knows that her mistakes are her own doing and she is trying to clean away the spilled milk.
When Ms. Xin found out that she was a witch, she felt like everything now made sense. She always thought she was more special than her unworthy peers. In a nutshell, she is not a very complex character, she is very simple to understand. Although she is simple, she is still quite unpredictable. How to put it? Hmmm, a wise man once said that "Ivy Xin really is an amazing creature. You can learn all that there is to know about her ways in a month, and yet after a hundred years, she can still surprise you... or annoy the hell out of you".
History: Ivy was born to Lin Xin-Ru (mother) and Xin Li (father) of Nanjing, China on April 18, 1989. However, before the birth of her sibling Ash, they transferred to England: one, because of China's one-child policy; two, because Mr. Xin was offered an executive director job of a large corporation. Ivy's father owns a rather large international financial company that manages businesses world-wide. Being the daughter of the Executive Director, she is extremely spoiled and wealthy. She was extremely young then and remembers very little of what Nanjing was like. Soon after their move to England, Ivy's parents' marriage fell to shambles. The family was torn apart, and unfortunately both Ivy and Ash faced some difficult and confusing times as young toddlers. Ultimately, Xin-Ru and Li decided to file for divorce under irreconcilable differences. It was decided that Ivy, the older daughter, would move to Tinsel, Ireland with her father Li; Ash would reside with Xin-Ru, her mother, in England for the time being.
Years passed, Ivy rarely saw her little sister and mother. Actually, Ivy didn't even regard her mother and sister as family. They were strangers to her and she didn't know them. As a result, she became estranged with her sister and mother until the visits became less frequent and shorter. Ivy wasn't upset or bothered by her lack of relationship with her mother or sister. Her father was all she needed, and he spoiled the girl like crazy. Shortly before her entrance to secondary school, Ivy received a letter accepting her to Hogwarts. She was thrilled with the news, but her father was confused and skeptical. She and her father visited Diagon Alley (their mouths were on the floor the entire time). Both had never seen anything so amazing, exotic and thrilling. Actually, the day she went to Diagon Alley become one of the most precious moments to Ivy. After buying her wand, robes and school materials, she and her father paid a very, very brief visit to her mother and sister living near London.
They decided they would refrain telling Xin-Ru and Ash about Ivy's new school. It wasn't even their business anyway. Eyes filled with tears, she hugged and kissed her beloved father goodbye before getting on the train to Hogwarts, where she would learn about new and different people, places and histories. To her surprise, her sister, Ash, showed up one year. Ash virtually forgot about her older sister, and Ivy couldn't care less. Years at Hogwarts went by, and Ivy struggled through her classes.
In her seventh year, Ivy applied for several modeling agencies. She was accepted to several of them, including a few wizarding ones. After graduating at Hogwarts, Ivy went on to work on her modeling. As a new model, she has struggled a lot and cannot afford to live alone yet. She lives among many of her former classmates at Wendelring.
Now, after hitting it big as a Supermodel in both worlds, she has tired slightly. She is considering taking a break from modeling for a while, and hopes to finally settle down and get married...
Special talents/knacks: Of course, Ivy is invincible. She has no weaknesses except for sports, focusing on academics, procrastination, and being materialistic, self-centered and spoiled. Due to her lanky figure, she has a hard time flying and prefers taxis and planes (she has yet to master apparition). Although she does enjoy watching Quidditch, she feels that the pitch is better off without her.
Ivy's talent is extraordinary; she can recite her ABC's frontward, backwards, sideways and even underwater. She's a remarkable swimmer, but a terrible runner. She can barely run a mile without having to stop to fix her hair or file her nails.
She also had a rather large mole on her face which had to be surgically removed, because doctors thought it was cancerous. She brags about this because she's "just like Enrique Iglesias".
She plays the violin.
Role Playing Example: Ivy walked into the library, and paused in dramatic model poses, to make sure everyone noticed her entrance. Madam Pince glared at her lethally, looking ready to hit her with a ruler. Madam Pince was already annoyed by this strange, eccentric girl.... getting her perfume all over the precious books... Grrrr...Ivy adjusted her bra so that her breasts appeared more pronounced, looking around coolly. "Oh my freakin' God!" Ivy started to b***h. "Where is that goddamned house elf with that freakin' wind machine!" What was she supposed to do without the wind machine blowing wind through her beautiful mane? Was she supposed to settle being just gorgeous instead of breath-taking? No, as long as she was Ivy Xin, she was not going to settle for a less than stellar entrance. There shall be wind, she thought.
On cue, Yanni the House-Elf heaved an oversized fan towards Ivy and Hexa. "Sorry Misses," Yanni apologized. "Yanni is so sorry,"
"It's alright Yanni," she cooed. She turned the wind-machine to on, yet-- it didn't work. "This thing doesn't even work..." She flipped her hair again with the back of her hand. "Don't worry Yanni, you can go back," she nodded. The poor house-elf began to heave the oversized fan away, mumbling apologies.
"Oh well, if that doesn't work then I guess I'll have to use the wind charm," she pointed her wand to herself. "Windex!" she chirped. Her hair began to flutter slightly, and she winked at passing boys, her shirt exposing her navel and red lacy straps of her bra. "Hey sexy... owl me," she said breathlessly as she gave a hearty wink.
Ivy casted a minor heating spell. Suddenly she was perspiring, sweat glistening down her face, making her hair stick to her head. "Accio Coke Bottle." An old-fashioned coke bottle flew to the hand of Ivy, and she uncapped it. She drank it seductively and finished with a loud "Ahhhhh.." Ivy wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, and posed again, this time with the coke bottle.
((BTW: I'm so happy that you've saved my old application. I'm going to work on the sample RP a bit...))
