Accepted! Welcome to Hogwarts!
[ Full Character Name: ] Bronwyn Merica Price
[ Character Gender: ] Female
[ Country of Citizenship: ] Wales, UK
[ Physical Character Description: ] Bron has light sea green with a deep sea blue ring around the iris which is very prominent when you look deep into her eyes. Her red hair is wavy, thick and long enough to sit in the nape of her neck. Bron is 5 foot 7 with long legs that make her look particularly tall but she is by no means out of proportion for this tall girl. Her pale complexion emphasises the redness of her hair that was inherited from her mother, like the red hair. She has a radiant smile that is always on her face except when she is daydreaming, then she has a far off stare and vacant expression.
She takes great pride in the way she looks and always keeps herself well groomed, like keeping her nails well shaped and clean. Her hair generally does what it wants, splaying in all directions or simply hanging around her round face, and to her mind, serves for no other purpose but to sit on her head and keep it warm. Bron would say she’s stylish but unconventionally so. Always in bright colours. She likes jeans because they are comfortable and she always spices the look up by wearing a funky belt, bright top and shiny shoes. When she’s not trying to impress anyone, her well worn red All Stars go with anything else she may feel like wearing. Hoodies and spagetti strap tops go with jeans, with that trendy sling rack sack Bron carries around with her everywhere.
[ Personality Character Description: ] Bronwyn is strong willed and hard headed. She likes things to go her way and will actively pursue the matter till it does go her way. This comes in handy in classes. Her loud and often boisterous nature also helps her to interject herself into any conversation she feels she needs to be in. Laughter is always present where Bron is and it is always loud and gleeful. She is always smiling because, though she may be naive in thinking like this, she sees no fault in the world, to her it is beautiful every day. Proud and stubborn at times, Bron struggles to admit when she has done something wrong but her good friend, her conscious, always gets the better of her in the end.
People may experience Bron as being over bearing at times, her vociferous and seemingly pretensions nature stemming from her number one philosophy in life: never take anything too seriously, especially yourself. She is giving of her time and expects nothing in return for it. Easy going but fiercely loyal, Bron can always be counted on to stand up for what is right even if she is standing alone. She is enthusiastic about everything and rarely hesitates when a volunteer is asked for and does it with a smile. Quick to laugh, quick to forgive, quick to trust is how Bron is described best.
Bronwyn likes food very much, but exercise keeps her thin, healthy and happy. Reading is a great pass time for her too and she can be seen reading in her free time. She also likes drawing, though thinks she isn’t any good at it (when in actual fact she is, that’s just typical artist syndrome). Friends are very important to her too, both making new once and hanging out with old ones. She dislikes fighting (unless it’s with food and in the Great Hall) intensely. Many of the people she knows fight over petty things and it is a pet hate of hers. It is futile, destructive and prohibiting. Rivalries too are just as fruitless and pointless in Bron’s books. People who feel that they need to deface things, too, get the frown and cold shoulder. It you are feeling that creative, why not just ask her for some paper and a pencil?
Bronwyn fancies herself an artist, drawing and the occational paintings are her forte and she, when not reading or hanging out with her friends (but sometimes even then), can be seen sitting in a random spot with her sketch pad on her knees and her pencil in hand. She always has something to draw with on her person, like the pencil she uses to put her hair up with sometimes. Prepared from anything to do with drawing is what Bron is always.
[ History: ] Mr Angor Demitri Price is the wizard in the Price family. He works for the Ministry in the Department of International Magical Cooperation and that is how he met Isolde Cogsworth, Bronwyn’s mother. She is British by birth but moved to Norway when her parents moved there when she was three. Angor was sight seeing while he had the chance to one afternoon and went to the Henie-Onstad Art Centre. Isolde was showing her grandmother (of far too many years to count) around the Art Centre and they happened to be looking at the same Knut Rumohr painting. Dearest grandmamma said something embarrassing and that got the two young people laughing and their affections ignited.
It took a few years before Angor could pluck up the courage to ask Isolde to marry him but on the third anniversary (of dating, while they were in Italy) he did it and they were married the next spring. They bought an apartment in London and a house in Holyhead Island in Wales. The apartment for Angor while he worked and the house for Isolde because that was where her parents had lived.
Terrwyn (pronounced Ter-wAIn, meaning brave as she is) was the first child born a year after Angor and Isolde’s marriage. She got Angor’s dark eyes and dark hair. Una was born two years later with Isolde’s red hair but with Isolde’s dearest grandmama’s blue eyes. A quiet beauty with a fiery temper. Then came Bronwyn (pronounced Bron-wIN) three years later as their seven-year anniversary gift, with her mother’s features and build too. When Bronwyn was born, her two sisters, Terrwyn and Una were so fascinated with this tiny creature (for Bron was a tiny baby, only just passing the three pound mark) with fire red hair that their mother brought home on day. The three have always been close and with Terr’s sense of adventure, Una’s cunning and Bron’s imagination the three played different games to normal girls. They played spacemen, Indians, cowboys, quidditch and all manner of high-speed, exciting games that they could devise.
Bron’s first sign of magic came early, at age four, when her sisters and she were playing hide and go seek in Mr Jenckins fields of orange trees next door. She was the seeker (very apt by the by) and it was getting dark. She was becoming scared and her sisters (who were watching her the whole time and thinking the situation very amusing) were nowhere to be seen. She became increasingly scared as the sun set. Suddenly out of nowhere came a light and it gave Bron such a fright that she blew it up. Mr Jenckins, being a muggle, blamed it on the oil inside the lamp catching fire but Terr and Una (who came running as the lamp flamed on, on the floor) knew better.
And that, they thought, was enough children to last them a life time but seven years after Bronwyn’s birth Isolde fell pregnant with Fern. She has blond hair and blue eyes which made Angor question Isolde’s fidelity however on better inspection she had Angor’s dark hair and Isolde’s red in single threads mixed in with her strawberry blond threads and it would take more then that to break Angor and Isolde apart.
While Mr Price worked, Mrs Price was left at home and took it upon herself to give the girls the education they needed before going to Hogwarts. She, being a patient but stern woman, did the job well and instilled a hunger in her daughters to learn as much as they possibly could. One-on-one lessons were just as normal as joined classes for the three girls so while one was busy the other two would play with the other children in the area. The Price children were liked a great deal by all the community for their wonderful games and their politeness to adults.
Soon, however, Terrwyn got her letter from Hogwarts and was off, leaving Una and Bronwyn with quiet little Fern. They didn’t mind her much but she just didn’t have what Terrwyn did. So Fern became more quiet and withdrawn and Una and Bronwyn became closer (though the years between them were great). And then Una got her letter and was gone for most of the year too. Bronwyn, being the thrill-seeking adventurer she was, got Fern out of her books and outside with her and the other children as much as they could. This made Fern more outgoing and it showed Bron that all you needed to do was show a little love, a little caring and you’ll get that and more in return.
Four years later, Bron’s letter came and she and Fern and their mother jumped around their living room for an hour, playing their music loudly and laughing. Now it was her turn to leave and she couldn’t be more excited. She flet a pang of regret for leaving Fern behind and sadness that she wouldn’t be seeing her for a long time but with her sister as excited as she was about her going to Hogwarts she couldn’t feel bad for long.
[ Pros and Cons : ] Bron is a fierce friends (as mentioned before) and friends is what she does best. She thrives on others’ joy and prosperities and is genuine about that joy. Brutal honesty is her strength. She is not afraid to tell the truth, even if it hurts. Rather truth then ignorance. She loves to laugh and be with others who do too. She attacks her school work like she does her food, with much determination and concentration. However, Bron’s wide imagination can and does take her down dark and misleading paths so far from the truth that she believes that they may occur. This can get her in a tizzy and flat spin for no reason and she may loose sleep over it, draining her of her happiness like she is sharing a bunk with a Dementor. Boys are another weakness. She likes then just the same as any girl and is competitive and aggressive at times about that topic. She can seem insensitive at times and this is understandable for Bron does not see the world as we do. For her it’s all about what she can draw next, who can she befriend, how can she help and that is a good thing.
[Role Playing Example:] Bron left the common room very quickly, sketch pad under her arm. She had been staring out the window, day dreaming as usual, when she had spotted something extraordinary. As fast as she could, with fiery determination, she ran down the many flights of stairs and out of the Entrance Hall, into the grounds. She had to make it in time to see the spectacle, if only a glimpse, that would be enough. She hurried towards the lake, already preparing herself, resting the edge of her sketch pad on her stomach and holding her pencil in hand. When she arrived at the Lake, she frantically gazed across it to where she gauged it had been and there it was.
A unicorn. It was young, she realised by it’s silver hue that she had not seen from the high window she had been staring out of and it’s short stumpy horn. Quickly and quietly she sat where she was, sending shore towards it. Bron’s face tightened in anxious anticipation that was almost painful as the sound carried. But the unicorn seemed not to hear it. She looked long and hard at the beautiful creature, then with light easy strokes began to draw it’s outline.
It posed very nicely for her, she decided, a large smile on her face. It stood with it’s hind quarters hidden behind a tree as it ate the fresher green grass beyond the safety of the tree line. A brave fellow, she thought, as she shaded his underbelly, his legs. There was suddenly a shriek of laughter behind Bronwyn. The unicorn looked up, then was gone. Bron turned to see two fourth years rolling around on the grass behind her and tickling each other. She laughed at them and turned back to her drawing, filling in the final details. At least I got to see it, she thought as she added a few fanciful details that had not been there but that were her signature, like the three butterflies in the bottom corner and the sun in the top.
