The silence was eerie but at the moment worth it for Derrick. He had slipped into here to avoid the hustle and bustle that was lunch in The Great Hall that afternoon. Sure it was a bit crowded with all the suits of armour surrounding him as he sat on the floor but it was comfortable.....kind of. Stone floors weren't exactly comfortable so he was lying to himself a bit but it was manageable it wasn't as if the floor made it impossible for him to enjoy his meal. If anything it was quite the opposite. Derrick was quite pleased that he had decided for the change that day. Sure it had required a bit of hurrying around on his part to get to the Hall before other students and get his food but he had pulled it off. It paid off for him to he was enjoying the current silence in the room. Of course the suits of armour themselves were an added bonus for him at the moment. Even if someone did stumble into the room it'd be impossible to find him wouldn't it?
Another added bonus was the way the sun shown through the windows at that particular hour. It wasn't as beautiful as the effect that the moon had on them but at the moment it was quite splendid to say the least. They way they glistened and glittered in the sunlight made the small layer of dust that laid on them seem almost nonexistent. It was still there though and while Derrick ate his sandwich in silence he felt himself thinking that maybe he would eat lunch here a little more often. It was so much different then The Great Hall. Not that the Great Hall wasn't beautiful in its own right but he barely ever had a real chance to sit back and admire it when he went there to eat. What with the noise and the flurry of movement at the table unless he stared straight up it was hard not to be distracted. Making a mental note Derrick decided that he should check the hall out on a day when it was vacated and wasn't jam packed with students. It would probably be a nice afternoon but for now it was just he enjoyed the current one.
It was easy seeing as he had found exactly what he was looking for here. After his recent experience with Maddyson he didn't want to talk to people anymore. He was sick of being proven wrong by people when he thought that just maybe he could get along with them. Sure it wasn't the case with all of them Josh and Beau were decent enough but the loud outgoing types he just wasn't meant to be around. It was just his stupid personality and no matter how much he wanted to see or talk to them it was better if he just avoided them which is why he was ducking the Great Hall that afternoon. Sighing Derrick continued to gaze at the surrounding statues and eat the sandwich wondering how long he had been here. At the moment it didn't matter seeing as he had time or at least that was the way that it felt to him. Even when he had to go Derrick wasn't too sure if he would want to although at the moment he was pretty sure that he would. While Derrick might be trying to avoid people he wasn't about to miss class because of it.
Note:He's a tad bit moody. You've been warned.
