The week was flying by, but there was always enough time for the lesson of potions, though there wasn't always enough time for the lesson to finish up itself. Actually, this lesson was a really quick one, a welcome back and have a short lesson greeting from Desideria, however, the woman was assigning a rather large essay at the end of the period. Ah well, it was life. A shorter lesson would mean they could have the time required to put towards a little research before the homework was due at their next lesson. With the winter months arriving, Desideria had decided once more to show her students how to brew the pepper-up potion properly so they could fix themselves up and stop bugging the poor nurse of the school for such things. It really was an easy potion and something they would need to know on their own so they didn't have to constantly appear at St. Mungos or some other place for such a simple potion. On the board behind the woman was written: Welcome! Sixth Years Lesson 1 Pepper-Up Potion D. Tapia
Desideria was seated on the floor, playing with a random cat she hadn't seen before. Whether it was a student's or a professor's she was unaware, but there it was.

Unlike some people, Tianne was really happy to be back at school. Although she loved her family more than words could say, she felt somewhat empty without the reassurance of being able to use magic, as well as the smiling faces of her best friends. She missed having her friends just around the corner, a mere shout away.
Sure, she had caught up with a few people during her summer, Matty, Jason and of course, Guy, being the stand outs. That was the only thing that she wasn't liking about school, her former seventh years having left the building. She couldn't believe that she only had two more years, but the girl was just looking forward to being able to do magic outside of school.
Getting up extra early to take herself to Potions class on time like she had for the rest of her life, Tianne dressed herself in her robes and pinned her shiny prefect badge onto the chest of the black and blue clothing. Walking at a fast pace down to the dungeons from her common room, Tianne entered the classroom to see her professor sitting on the floor. The girl gave a light chuckle, before wandering over to Professor Tapia, who was now apparently playing with a kitten. Who's kitten, Tianne didn't know, but it was cute.
"Hey, Professor."

"Arrrrgh" Lach groaned rolling over in bed. The holidays were over and Lachlan was having trouble adjusting to the strict school schedule. The boy didn't have a clue what time it was but he sure didn't feel like getting up and tramping off to a class. It just wasn't fair. The holidays had gone way too fast. Rubbing his eyes, Lachlan began to finally wake up. He was just going to have to get up whether he liked it or not. He couldn't afford to be late for classes this year, especially not now that he was a prefect. It would set a bad example and Lach didn't want his badge taken off him. The shock of receiving the letter still hadn't worn off and the boy really did like the look of his shiny new badge on his black robes.
Chucking on his semi-clean robes and pinning his badge on carefully, Lach grabbed his books and headed out of the Hufflepuff Common Room. Flicking his just got out of bed hair out of his eyes, Lach began to think seriously. He couldn't remember what class he had now. "Potions or ......" Lach let his voice trail off, he couldn't think of what else he might have. 'Oh well potions it is' Lach thought to himself, heading off in the direction of his classroom.
The first thing Lach noticed when he entered his class was that his teacher was sitting on the floor playing with a cat. 'Strange' Lach thought to himself, a little taken back. The second was Tianne, his best friend whom he had run into in the holidays. Instead of taking a seat at the back as he usually would, Lach walked up towards the front of the room and stood casually beside Tianne.
"Professor" Lach said with a nod before turning to the girl "Hey Tianne, how was the rest of your holidays?"

How much of a close call this subject had been. Alright, so the fact of the matter was that Matilda did pass the subject - with an A, but it ultimately wasn't enough to get her into the NEWTs course she needed. And my, oh my, how stressing that had been for the girl. It had caused her not to celebrate over all her passing marks over the holidays, but moreso fret over the fact that she wasn't going to be able to make the Stand 'E' mark she needed in her NEWTs, to which she needed to take the upcoming Potions course. However, once the teen had arrived back at school, all had been sorted out when she had approached her Head of House.
Professor Tapia, in Matilda's mind, was a very fair and admirable women. Not only did she manage their house with that of a caring adult, but also a professional teacher but now she had given the girl the chance to redeem herself. Matty was to participate in the sixth year NEWT class, but she would require to volunteer as a student aid for a younger year, too. Not only that, but it was obvious that the teenager would need to put aside some extra time to wards Potions. Matty was confident she could so do, and so that was settled. Problem semi-solved.
So walking into the dungeons classroom this morning, in her clean pressed robes, and shiny Quidditch Badge for the second year running, the girl smiled at her Head of House, her house mate, and her best friend. "Hey, everyone." she spoke brightly, joining the group of three at the font of the room, where it seemed their professor was playing with rather adorable cat. She had missed out on any previous conversation before hand, so the girl merely looked about. "Nice bed hair, Lach." she mumbled playfully, before heading to the middle and grabbing a seat for herself.
