What a day. This was one of her favorite potions to brew, it was so interesting and intriguing, and it did things to a person like nothing else. She was sure her students would appreciate such a potion and looked forward to teaching it to them. This was something they could use later in life depending on where they went into work after leaving Hogwarts, or something they could use on their own should the occasion call for it. Hopefully they'd never have to take such drastic measures, but one never knew.
The one rarer ingredient that was called for by this potion sat on the table, but only enough to make three potions with. This time around her students would be pairing up, save for one who'd be brewing a potion on their own with Tapia's great advisement. She already had pairs made up in her mind as with such a small grouping she thought it best to tear a few apart here and there.
Cleaning out a container, Desideria sat at her desk with a spray bottle of cleaning solution and hummed very off key to herself while she waited for her students. On the board behind her was written:
Sixth Years Diluted Truth Serum D. Tapia

Taking her time to get to the dungeons, Felicity knew there was plenty of time before the lesson actually was to start. Thankfully there hadn't been hardly any homework assigned that day and she was looking forward to having a little freetime, and she hoped maybe she could spend a little time with Drew that night since she'd been bogged down with homework lately, not to mention he was with being in his seventh year. And while the library was nice sometimes, she liked spending time with him outside of it as well.
Entering the class, she smiled at the Professor and tried not to make a face at her musical ear. Even Felicity knew she sang better than that, and the woman was only humming, it made her glad she wasn't head of the Hogwarts choir group (assuming there is one).
"Evening Professor," Felicity called out before taking her seat at one of the two tables that was available.

Connor heaved a great sigh as he entered the potions classroom. He hoped no one heard it, he wouldn't want people to think he detested the class. The opposite was true, of course, but Connor was in a foul mood. He had gotten up late and missed beakfast and was therefor a bitter lad. He had even stopped by the kitchens in between two of his classes and treated himself to a snack. Unfortunately, though, he didn't have much time to eat much of anything before running off to his next lesson.
The day didn't go on much better from there, he tripped on his way up the stairs, broke three quills in a row and was almost late to a meeting he had to attend. It wasn't the Slytherins day and as he sat in his seat, he wasn't sure if it would get worse or better. Potions was a fairly easy subject for him, so that part would be simple. He just hoped nothing bugged him too much. He hated feeling bitter, but Connor's tendency to be optimistic was feeling a bit drained that day. His eyes scanned the room and finally landed on the black board behind Professor Tapia. A diluted truth serum? How interesting.

What a long day this had been, Anna just couldn't wait for it to finish as she walked into the potions classroom more or less ready to attempt whatever the lesson was for today. Taking a quick glance at the board the lioness saw Diluted Truth Serum written. At least today's plans seemed interesting enough to keep the sixth year awake. Then again, after what happened to her back in third year, it was not a smart idea to fall asleep in class. That is unless you really want your transfiguration teacher to melt your desk as an alarm. "Hi Professor" Anna greeted before taking a seat. Hopefully this class will being soon just to get it over with.

Josh straightened out his tie and shirt as he hobble down the corridor. He was trying to fix his uniform and juggle his text book and bag with one hand. The Hufflepuff stumbled over his own feet, managing to hold onto everything, but practically fell into the classroom as he reached the door. His cheeks turn a light shade of pink and he kept his head down, making his way across the room and taking a seat near the back. Josh took out what he'd need for the class and turned his attention to the board, reading what the lesson would be on.

One thing right after another, and now Celina was running from one class, to the library, to the next class. She’d gotten all of the homework done, that was for certain, but she had been up all night doing this and that for anything else her mind thought that she had to do. There was no time for sleep… sleep was for the weak, and so with the hour or two that she did get before that morning, she continued on through the day and was finding it difficult to do so.
Entering the potions classroom, the potion that they were brewing slightly made Celina nervous. When didn’t the potions make her nervous though? Always fearing being the test subject of one of them, Celina made sure to never allow anyone to handle her food or drinks before she did and so on and so forth. Paranoid? Maybe sleep deprived, but she’d hardly call herself paranoid.
Finding a seat in between her best friend, and Connor, Celina smiled at the both of them, her hair frizzled more than normal and the humming of the professor was scratching at the last brain cells of her brain. She could hardly take it, but she resisted in commenting… her grade, Head Girl, and anything else she ever dreamed about accomplishing depended on her keeping her mouth shut…
Looking at Felicity, she continued to smile, and as she looked over at Connor she did the same, only to realize that he didn’t look… well, pleased to be there or something. “Where’s your smile, Mr. Manning?” Celina whispered playfully, as she tugged gently on the sleeve to his shirt.

Seeing her classroom fill up, Desideria ceased her very off-tune humming and set the container she'd been cleaning aside. "Good evening class," she started jovially. "I 'ope you're all doing well." A standard greeting, but nonetheless sincere. She needed to know her students were feeling up to par, especially for a lesson where they'd be relying on one another to go on with the class. "Today's lesson will be slightly different from the others we've 'ad this year so far. Reason being one of the ingredients I am required to supply for the potion as it's not a standard one in your kits is becoming 'arder to find. Thus, we will be working in pairs today and I will be doing the assigning."
She knew who was comfortable with who, and was glad to note that her students all seemed rather comfortable with one another. It was good.
"Let's see now, Miss. Jedynak and Miss. Becket, please pair. Mr. Manning and Mr. York, if you will please. And Miss. 'Jort, that leaves you with me. Now then, who can tell me about the truth potion? And who can give me the most common name of the strongest truth solution we 'ave?"

Connor turned his head slightly, staring vacantly at the several shelves along the walls of the potions room. Most of it was ingredient, he noticed, but there were other unidentified things in jars as well. He silently wondered what it was. He was unaware of the new arrivals, including Celina, until she spoke to him. Her tone was teasing, and it took a few seconds for Connor to adjust his slight frown to a smile at the girl. He swatted her hand away teasingly as she tugged lightly on his shirt sleeve.
" I scared it off. " He mentioned, feeling a bit better now that Celina was here and they were joking around. A few seconds later, though, Professor Tapia called the class to order and he turned his attention back to the woman at the front of the room. Working in pairs? Connor looked around, thinking that Celina and Felicity would pair up. He glanced at the other people in the class, Anna and.. Josh? He was almost positive that was the Hufflepuff's name. It appeared, though, that Professor Tapia already had groups in mind. He nodded his head slightly, thinking that working with Josh wouldn't be too bad.
Upon hearing the question, Connor answered out loud, " Truth potion, as the name would hint, " He smiled in a somewhat sarcastic manner, " Causes the drinker to tell the truth about whatever they are asked. The strongest kind is called Veritaserum. " He didn't exactly mean to be a know it all, but house points were always appreciated.

The potion seemed like an interesting one, though she was never allowed to help her mum brew it when it was called upon her to do so. Instead she was allowed to watch, but never touch anything that would be used in the truth serum because of the particularness that was needed to properly brew the potion. Though it was her mum that kept her head in potions and made her know the harsh realities of messing them up, she was never allowed to brew harder to make ones in her own home. Watch, but never touch.
This one held a little bit of interest for the girl as she was looking forward to testing it out, just to see what would happen, though she didn't know what kind of question she could possibly want to be asked, there were so many that could be asked, and yet so many that shouldn't be.
And as Tapia started up the class, she listened closely, not sure how she felt about being paired up...and most definitely about being paired with the professor. Why? Why couldn't someone else be paired with the woman? Not that it was such a bad thing as her potion would most certainly turn out correctly, but the fact she wouldn't have minded working with anyone else in the class...well, it just bothered her a bit.
Defeated-like, she wrote down notes of what Connor said, knowing he was right. She knew enough about the potion to know at least that much of it.
