It was a miserable spring day outside and while Drew could have probably taken advantage of the rain to gather worms or lightning or something, he had decided what he really wanted to do was do some cooking. He wasn't sure what quite yet, but that hardly mattered.
He peered through the door, growling at the rush of house elves that ran up bearing treats. He didn't have anything against them, but they were kind of annoying when he wanted use of the kitchen. A few of them backed off, but most of them stayed until Drew literally put his foot down. "Can I just be left alone for a couple of hours?" he asked them, stamping in an attempt to shoo them off.
When most of the elves had scattered, he turned to look over his shoulder at his companion. "You set?"

"You know they'll still be hanging around 'just in case'," Arianna commented, following in after Drew, a ball of black fur darting in with her. She was rather glad for this. It had been forever since she'd really hung out with Drew and after the whole thing with the pendent...yeah, she needed something fun to do.
"I just hope Juni doesn't get in the way," she shook her head at the cat as it hurried after the elves. He was probably the only one in the room who didn't mind being waited on by the creatures. Arianna couldn't help feeling that his whole reason for coming was to watch over her, though. Even if he spent most of his time down here getting pampered.

Jynx didn’t really see the point in going outside on such a crummy day so he decided to make his way down to the kitchens for a bite to eat and when he arrived a very odd situation greeted him. For some reason it seemed that Drew wanted the elves to bugger off for a few. Entering furthe into the kitchen he stopped a couple of feet from the two Ravens. Curious as to why this may be he asked with a smile, “So what are you two up to?”

"Good, because I think the first thing I'm going to need is a GREAT BIG SALMON," Drew announced. he wasn't sure what he was going to do with the salmon, but he was in the mood for fish. And cake. And potatoes.
"Maybe Juni can keep them busy while we do our stuff," he told Ari, pulling his Ipod out of his pocket and setting it up on the counter as one of the Huffles came in. What was the kid's name? Crash? Dunk? "Not sure yet," he answered the kid with a shrug and he looked over at Ari to see if she had any ideas.

"I could do with some rice krispie treats," Arianna replied, paying no mind to the newcomer. She wasn't sure they'd have the ingredients for the sweets, though. Not everyone liked to keep American foods on their shelves so rice krispies and marshmallows might not be one of those items found at a British store.
That didn't keep the girl from wanting them, though.

"Welcom to Kitchen Stadium where invincible men of culinary skills face off for the title of Iron Chef," Drew intoned just as the house elves placed the requested items on the table. "Today's theme is SALMON AND RICE KRISPIE CEREAL!"
"You in?" he asked, turing ot Huffleboy-with-the-funny-name to see if he was playing. They could do a three way no problem.

It seemed they would have to order another salmon. Juni had followed after the elves and Arianna had to grab him before he pounced onto the fish.
"Should we try for Rice Krispie-encrusted salmon?" Arianna quetioned with a grin as she scratched the cat behind his ears then turned to ask if there was more fish just for Juni. She wasn't honestly thinking of trying it, but now wondered if it would taste any good. Heck, they used those wheat flake cereals for stuff like that, didn't they? Why not try something with rice cereals?

"You aren't supposed to be telling the other Iron Chefs what you're going to do!" Drew scolded and he mentioned to the house elves that they'd need four fishes, one for each chef and one for Juni.
It was actually a pretty good idea, cereal covered fish fillets. He was sorry he hadn't thought of it first.

Jynx just smiled as Drew announced that he wanted salmon and Ari rice crispy treats. Those seemed like quite the opposite things but he guessed it worked. He didn’t really like rice crispy treats himself, which was odd considering he liked the ingredients by themselves just not combined.
“Sure. Why not,” Jynx said with a smile. He knew that he had played against the two Ravens in Quidditch and only knew there names because of Jack being a Ravenclaw and his mention of them every now and then. However he wasn’t to sure if they knew his name or not and debated on whether or not to tell them. Deciding that it didn’t matter one way or the other he decided he would just go ahead and tell them. If they already knew it that was fine, but if not then they would at least for the moment. “Just in case you didn’t know I am Jynx by the way,” Jynx said with a smile over to the two Ravens.
Jynx wasn’t sure what he would make with such a combination, but he was willing to try. He watched as the house elves scampered off and returned with four fishes. Thanking the house elf he took his fish and placed it on the counter.

"Yeah, you're on the Huffle team," Drew answered, smi9ling as if he had known the kid's name all along. Of course, maybe the boy had introduced himself becaus he didn't know their names... something Drew was sorry he hadn't thought of first as well.
"Drew Thornton... and this is Arianna... and Juniper," Drew told him, motioning first to his Ravensister and then the cat. "So you got any ideas?" he asked, figuring this was an informal game so maybe they could share.

Arianna's hand flew to her mouth as Drew exclaimed that she wasn't supposed to give away her ideas. She hadn't caught that bit about it being a competition. Don't ask me why. She just didn't. As she thought about it, though, it just might be fun to test out the krispie-encrusted fish.
"We'll need herbs...anything you've got," Arianna told the elves as they hurried off for the ingredients. "And maybe some butter....and...oh, I dunno what else goes well with fish!'

Jynx nodded with a smile in recognition as Drew introduced everyone. “Umm...Salmon and rice crispy cereal huh? Well I am not really sure those two go together, but I guess you could use them in some sort of a oriental type salad or something. They are always throwing crispy noodles and stuff and fish into salad.” Jynx said shrugging and thinking to himself that he remembered such a salad at one of his favorite restaurants back home. “Or try and make two complimentary dishes without combining the two.” he added almost as an after thought.
Hearing Ari tell the elves that she would need more spices. He quickly added, “And if you would bring me ginger, brown sugar, soy sauce, honey, garlic and salad why your at it that would be great.

Drew smiled at the ideas jynx threw out. "I mean, the cereal is just really rice, right?" he added, thinking he could do the two dish thing easily. He turned to shout after the elves as well. "A dozen eggs, sugar, flour, oil and milk." He wasn't sure he'd need all of that, but it would be good to have some of the basics around.

"Throwing 'crispy noodles' on a salad doesn't make it Oriental," Arianna rolled her eyes at Jynx's comment. It was like when they pour tobbasco sauce on a taco and call it Mexican. She knew it was an American thing to do such things, but did they do that in Scotland, too?
"And I think the cereal might work," she continued, letting Juni go as the elves returned with the fish. "Just need to find the right mix of ingredients to get it right."

"But it could be an interesting garnish thing," Drew pointed out, knowing she was right, but not wanting the Huffle to think he had a crappy idea.
"Maybe a stuffing kind of thing for me..." he mused, pulling a fillet knife and carefully taking the skin off of the fish. "onion, mushroom, celery, sausuge... and brie..." he told the house elves. They were actually coming in quite handy as sous chefs.
