"Trust me, I'm a big bully," he told her with a sigh, "I just happen to like you. So you haven't been subjected to my horrible ways just yet." Finn smiled his lopsided smile again and chortled to himself.
As Keagan stuck her tongue out again, Finn made a grab for it, with no intention of actually getting it. He chuckled and looked away from her again, watching where he was going. They had come to a set of stairs again, and if he was watching her instead of where his feet were, Finn knew he'd end up face-first on the hard steps. It wouldn't be the first time.

"I suppose I should feel honored that you like me, then, huh?" she inquired with a joking wink, unaware of how that wink could be taken for more than she intended it to be.
Jerking back away from Finn's lunge for her tongue, Keagan quirked an eyebrow up at him. "You're silly," she stated as she stepped lightly onto the first step.

Finn chuckled at her response, more of a nervous chuckle than a real one and his eyes widened slightly as he saw her wink. No, he told himself firmly, mustn't read too much into it. It was friendly. That's all. The more Finn convinced himself of it, the sadder it made him so he allowed himself a tiny, pathetic, smidgen of hope that it could mean something else. Maybe.
"Am I really?" Finn asked, nonchalantly, "Well, go me then. You're quite silly yourself." Finn nodded as he spoke, saying it like it was a compliment. In his book, it was. Finn tried to be funny and silly, and sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. Apparently, it was working right now, so he decided to keep it up.
"So," he began, strolling up the steps, "How did you become a prefect? Did they just ask you, or did you have to apply, or what?"

"Yes, you are really very silly. And thank you." Keagan took it as a compliment as well.
"How did I become a prefect...Hm..." the Gryffindor started, pondering it for a moment. "Well...Gryffindor approached determining prefects a bit differently than the other houses did. I guess you could say that they left us to our own devices. We held elections for prefects." She nodded, a bit proud of the democratic way in which Gryffindor had decided their leadership.
"To tell the truth, though, I was voted third...but then I replaced a prefect who transferred out of Hogwarts. Come to think of it, the old prefect is currently here at Hogwarts. She just graduated and she's assisting the teachers or something like that for a few weeks."
The joys of rambling.

Finn nodded as he listened to Keagan, impressed slightly by her story. He clapped as she finished her little tale and grinned at her. "That sounds wicked," he told her truthfully, "Congratulations." He was interested about the old student coming back to help out some of the professors. Finn thought he might like to do that after he graduated from Hogwarts. He'd thought about being a professor, but that actually meant he had to work hard and do well in all his classes for that dream to come true.
"I may need to talk to this old prefect," Finn told Keagan, "I'd like to do something like that after school. Maybe come back and help. Sounds wicked." Finn kept on up the stairs carefully so he wouldn't trip. He cursed himself for being so easily distracted by Keagan because he looked at her again, only for a moment and slipped on the next step. As he imagined before, Finn fell face first onto the step, but luckily he didn't smash his face in completely. Only a little.
Groaning and rolling over, Finn blinked a few times, pushing back the tears. He wasn't crying, his eyes just started to water because he had hurt his nose. It began to trickle blood down slightly, and he felt at it with his finger. "Dab it, dot agaid!" Finn said angrily, his speech somewhat impaired by the new injury.

"Her names Shay Loire if you wanted to find her around here before the end of term. I'm not sure if she's really liking the idea of staying on as a professor or not."
And then...Finn fell. Again. "Oh!" Keagan yelped. Again. It was almost like Deja Vu. As Finn rolled, Keagan spotted the trickle of blood along his lip, trailing from Finn's nose. This couldn't be good.
"Ouch," she stated as she knelt beside his sprawled form, for even if she herself was not injured, that nose thing definitely looked painful. Somewhat panicked, Keagan did the first thing that came to mind - conjure something to stop the blood. In this case, it was a dark blue handkerchief. Handing it to Finn, she stroked his hair back with her right hand and took a slightly closer look at the injury. "That doesn't look good."
((Heh, I broke my nose once.))

"Eh, by dose broke the fall this tibe," he told her, chuckling softly. He took the handkerchief and held it under his nose as the blood started to trickle more and eventually became almost a steady flow. However, Finn felt himself freeze up again as Keagan stroked back his hair and leaned down. Finn just looked up at her, his eyes locking onto the girl's. He gulped slightly but fought the urge.
Clearing his throat, Finn tried to speak again. "Really, it's dot dat bad," he said to her, trying to sit up. He felt slightly dizzy again, but he forced himself up and he made his eyes look away from her. His cheeks turned a vibrant shade of pink again and he wanted very much to just disappear. Not again...

"I wish some less vulnerable part would've broke that fall. Like your non-dominant hand," Keagan replied sullenly. Keagan felt Finn's body go rigid under her touch once again as she held his hair back. Somehow, her eyes found his also, and until he moved to get up, Keagan's were locked on his as well. How strange, it seemed to Keag as she pulled her hand back, that they had just shared a moment.
Sitting back on her haunches, Keagan moved away as Finn forced himself up, trying to compose herself a bit. Of course, blushing didn't help, and Keagan doubted that her sunburn would fully hide this one.
"Are you sure?" she asked. "You don't think it's broken, do you?"

"Oh, it probubly is," Finn replied, glancing at her sideways and scoffing at himself, wishing he wasn't such an idiot. Why was it so impossibly for this boy to simply put one foot in front of the other, carry a normal conversation and not go completely rigid everyone one, particular girl touched him? Well, the answer was obvious, but it was making it known that was the tricky part. Using the railing of the stairs, Finn pulled himself up into a standing, but wobbly, position. He was too damn proud to just sit there for a moment let the nausea that had decided to take over just pass. No, he was determined to get back to the Common Room, where he could lock himself in the bathroom and curse himself silly. Why, why, why?! Finn asked himself, why can't you function? And WHY can't you just TELL HER!! Finn had yelled it so loud in his head that for a moment, he was sure Keagan could hear it. But then again, he realized just how crazy that actually sounded. "Let's just go," he told her again, starting up the stairs, wobbling slightly, but keeping his balance. ( i g2g. i'll be around tomorrow though. Good night XD)

"Are you sure you should be...?" Keagan began to ask, but noticing the look of determination on Finn's face, she shut her yap quickly. If he thought he was good to go, then Keagan reckoned there wasn't much she could do about it.
The Gryffindor winced as she watched Finn wobble on his feet as he walked up the staircase. Keag placed her palm on the back of the shoulder nearest her, knowing full well (this time) what Finn's reaction would most likely be; she was going to do all she could to keep him from falling yet again.

Finn took the handkerchief away for a moment to examine the damage as best as he could. The blood started the pour the second he took it away, so he just held it there again, sighing deeply and somewhat angrily. As he took another step, he felt Keagan's hand on his back. Now, he couldn't quite be sure if it was real, or all in his head, but suddenly his nose didn't hurt so much now that Keagan's hand was there. He tried to smile and sniffled slightly, but that took away the short-lived relief of pain.
"Oh, Jebus," Finn muttered, stopping again and slinking back down to the stair, "Oh it hurts. It hurts somethin' fierce."

As Finn sank back onto the stairs, Keagan stumbled. However, she managed to turn so that she took the blunt of the fall on her...rump. Somehow she kept from saying "Ow;" she knew that the slight pain she currently felt was nothing compared to the pain of Finn's nose.
"Something fierce?" she asked rhetorically, an incredibly concerned look on her face. "Maybe I should take you over to the Hospital Wing. Or get Kellen to have a look."

The blue handkerchief had now gone a purple colour, the blood soaking it thoroughly. Finn looked at Keagan as she mentioned going up to the Hospital Wing. He really had no desire to go there at this time of night, and he knew of a spell that could fix him anyways. He was positive it would work. Well, almost positive.
"Isn't dere some spell do fix this?" the speech-impaired Finn asked, "Episkey or somethig like dat?"

"Scourgify," Keagan muttered softly, aiming her wand at the handkerchief.
"I...don't remember," she replied with a pained expression. She cursed herself for not being better at Charms. "Should I...try it?"

"Bight as well," Finn replied with a small shrug. He didn't really think there was anything she could do to make it hurt more than it already did, it was at least worth a try. Finn braced himself for whatever Keagan was going to do and closed his eyes. "Just do it," he told her, taking the handkerchief away.
Finn trusted Keagan. He was pretty sure she could do it and even if it didn't work, he wouldn't hold it against her.
