Unlike a vast majority of the students at Hogwarts, Jeremy Adams actually could admit to enjoying mornings. That is, as long as the boy had gotten a sufficient amount of sleep the night previous. As he always had a Durmstrang, the teenager woke up with an hour or more to spare before Lessons began. He showered, and dressed in the first layers of his uniform; shoes, long pants, white long sleeved shirt complete with rolled sleeves to his elbow and school tie done up loosely for the moment. Jez roughly dried his hair with a towel, before dumping it in the dirty laundry basket. As he excited the common room, heading down the various stair cases to the Great Hall, the boy absently played with the leather bracelet on his wrist. He'd had it for Merlin Knows how long, and it was the sole thing that never left his person, ever.
Finally, after making a few wrong turns, the new Gryffindor boy found himself standing at the entrance of the Great Hall. Everyone that was already seated seemed to be comfortable in their surroundings - if only Jeremy felt the same way. He felt like their eyes were burrowing into his tall figure, judging and observing him from every angle possible. He felt like a sore thumb, sticking out among a handful of perfectly crafted fingers. With a gentle sigh, the teen made his way to the table he recognized as the Gryffindor's. The students all sat in small groups, two or more, chatting about this and that, exchanging letters, or passing each other plates of food.
He sighed again, dropping into a spare seat around the end, and pulling a plate forward, before stacking on a couple of pancakes and syrup, before shoving a mouthful in and chewing to occupy himself. Merlin, he was such a n00b.

Sitting with a small group of students, ones she hardly spoke to, but still liked all the same, Felicity's eyes wandered around the room, hoping to catch Celina or Dante soon. Unfortunately, it seemed her hopes were failing fast, neither face were appearing, and the group she'd been sitting with her becoming annoyed at her antics of ignoring them. And thought Felicity couldn't blame them, she hardly noticed their impatience with her, instead more focused on what was going on around them than that of the conversation at hand. Honestly, she liked listening, really, but just wanted to talk with others, not the same old same old. And when her small group started to disperse, Felicity hardly noticed, eyes still trained on the Ravenclaw table, empty of her closest friends.
After a while, and still no appearance, Felicity shifted her focus back to the still empty plate before her, and the appearance of another not far from where she sat. The blonde didn't recognize his face, which she found slightly startling considering he looked old enough to be in her year and she knew most of those there. Maybe he was new? Or perhaps he was a person who blended in very well?
Either way, her interests were piqued.
Carefully sliding down the bench, closer to the boy, she tried to be inconspicuous about settling in right beside him. An empty plate was before her, and though she looked long and hard at his breakfast, she couldn't bring hunger to her stomach.
"That's a boring choice," she started out plainly, glancing up to a hopeful response, a slight smirk in place. The teasing was evident on her tone, and she hoped he'd understand she wasn't meaning any harm. But really, he hadn't decorated his cakes, and made no funny faces, or anything.

"That's a boring choice,"
Jeremy half expected to turn, and see a ghost seated besides him. He hadn't even noticed the shift in positions, the observation of him, nothing of the sorts. However, the sudden voice had startled him slightly. His eyes flew up from his plate, his head jerking to the side where the voice came from. There, sat a girl about his age. She was small in thin in size, but not overly. Her blond, with a skin tone to match. He didn't recognize her face, nor her voice, which didn't pose as a surprise. To be honest - Jez didn't really know all that many people his age here.
It took the teenager to register the smirk on her face, and the teasing tone she had used with him, to realize that she had only been mucking around. A quickly, a flood of relief washed over his body. Already, he felt relaxed, knowing that like him, this girl must have certain traits that made her somehow able to relate to his personality. After all, they were both Gryffindors, right? So there was no harm done. It didn't take more than another second for him to glance down at her plate, a reply already in mind.
"And your choice looks even more so boring." he stated with a teasing grin, feeling pleased with himself at his choice of words, instead of just blushing and denying it, like he might have done so in the past. There was just a vibe about the girl that made Jeremy comfortable. "What kind of a breakfast is that, sparrow farts? My pancakes rock that on the 'boring' scale any day." he added, before cutting off another bit of cake, putting it in his mouth, and chewing triumphantly, smiling close-mouthed through his bites.

The surprise attack had worked, and the best part was the boy had taken it nicely. And even better, a challenge had been posed, whether he knew it or not, now she had every right to rock his cakes right back to the bottom of the scale. Giggling at his ending of his remark, she knew she had to be careful of her choice, making sure to make the most appetizing meal available of the many choices presented to her.
"Oh? Honestly, I haven't even begun, I was just checking out the competition." Smiling slyly at the boy, she reached for a pancake, careful to not take more than she knew she'd eat. Piling them on her place, she reached for a bit of sausage and egg and make a nice little smiling face on her plate, adding homefries where hair would be placed on a human head, and starting combing some essentials (ketchup and syrup) over the creation, giving it all much needed texture, face cream, and hair gel.
"Now see, this is a breakfast," she grinning as she showed off her small creation before taking a bit and dipping it here and there, sure to dig up some of all before taking her first bite with a smug smile in place. Nope, she wasn't letting him win this one too easily. Of course, the choices could've been better, but what was the fun in limitless choices? Really, all she had to do was beat him out, everyone else was a piece of cake, right?
