Vanessa peeked around the corner of the hallway, not exactly sure what she was expecting to pop out from the other side, but it was pretty evident that there could have been something. Nothing was there, and Vanessa felt her heart beat start up again. She sighed, her bag over her shoulder as she went down the hall, walking ever so slowly, as she was never invited. She never even made an appointment and she knew she probably should have, but she had forgotten. It wasn't normal for her to be forgetting so much, but indeed she was....maybe she should go to the nurse?
As she found herself standing in front of her potions professor's office door, her legs quaked a bit. Her professor seemed really nice and such, and she knit! That was amazing in and of itself, but there was still some reason that Vanessa had just been really weary of those she came into contact with of the older generations. There was something missing....a reason why she was unsure of them. But as with many other things in her life at that moment, she couldn't remember for the life of her.
Lifting her small hand, she rapped on the door with her knuckles three times, hoping that her professor would be around. "Professor Tapia?" Vanessa cooed outside the door with her bag falling off her shoulder slightly. Shouldn't have packed so much yarn, she had thought to herself the whole journey down to the dungeon area, but she had and the bag was just a bit heavy from it. She sighed, wondering if she should knock again, so she did.

Moving about the room almost in a frenzy, though not quite, Desideria watered her plants. Tons and tons of plants, everywhere to be seen. Green here, some spotted white and yellow there, every available spot held a plant that could be used at a later time in a potion. Each plant had its purpose, each potion had its. It was a never-ending cycle.
When the knock came on her door, she had a start and nearly tumbled over off of the stool she was using to reach a plant on a high shelf. The muggle way of taking care of plants pleased the plump woman more than the wizarding way as it offered a closeness the end of a wand could not supply.
"Come in deary," she called out, hopping down from the balancing act everything had become. A knock on the door could be for a number of reasons, problems with the potions homeork, problems in general, or perhaps a just a note about something she missed. It could be anything.

"Can't you stay awake?" Is what Vanessa heard through the door, and she was quite confused on that note. Staying awake wasn't the problem, it was remembering, but that wasn't why she found herself that day at the door of Professor Tapia that afternoon. It was her knitting she was more there for, and not only that, but she was there to sit and chat with the woman. At least, Vanessa now knew she was there. Unfortunately, if she was asking about her staying awake...did that mean she could go in? Vanessa pondered it for a few minutes.
Deciding to knock on the door again, Vanessa lifted her hand and rapped with her knuckles on the door. "Ma'am, I didn't quite hear you....sleeping you say?" Vanessa yelled through the door just enough for one to hear through the door someone speaking, not neccessarily for one to hear exactly what she was saying...though it was possible. Vanassa stood there and waited agian. She didn't want to just barge in if she really wasn't invited.

When the door didn't open, the woman shook it off, perhaps it was only a student playing around to see if she was in her room. Back in her day, if they needed something from one of the professor's offices, it was something she and her friends did, knock to see if the room was occupied, and if not they would go in and grab what was required. Desideria knew enough to lock her door though, she wasn't going to have things taken from her room.
Just as she returned to her plant she heard yet again another knock and a muffled voice. What was that being said? Something about I think I need to cheer you...sneezing today? Well that didn't make a bit of sense, none at all. Just what was this person talking about?
"I said come in deary!" the woman shouted a bit louder. If she had her wand on her instead of leaving it on her desk, she would've opened the blasted thing.

Vanessa listened close to the door this time, hoping that her hearing wasn't going along with her mind. I said come in deary! Yes, that time she had heard correctly as Vanessa gently placed her hand on the door of the potions professor's office. She went to turn it, but it didn't move. Locked? Was it really? Vanessa cocked her head and looked a bit at a loss. She tried to turn it again and this time, still nothing. "Oh, dear," she said out loud to herself.
Looking at the door for a moment longer, Vanessa sighed. Saying through the door, a bit louder than she had before, "I can't come in, for it is lock...and I have no key." Maybe the door was just stuck. Or maybe Vanessa just wasn't doing very well that day. Either way she thought of the matter, she felt very foolish indeed.

Well this was rather unintentionally annoying. Desideria wasn't finished with what she was doing and she thought maybe her mind left her. Someone said something, but still no one was entering. Perhaps Peeves was up to playing tricks if the old thing was still around. Desideria hadn't run into the blasted thing and hoped if he still occupied Hogwarts, she wouldn't.
The watering can was still about half full and with this particular plant you had to water a little at a time, but she didn't want to leave and return, leave and return. It was so much easier to just stay standing on her stool and water bit by bit.
There was a rattling of the door handle, and she couldn't believe the student didn't just enter. Then she heard the voice again. I can't come first, it's socked...and I've no glee. What was with this person on the other side of her door? Sputtering nonesense. Really now.
Getting down off her chair, she was very frustrated and threw the door open out of anger. How hard was it to just open the darn thing? Alright, it didn't open easily. Actually, it didn't open at all. Why wouldn't it open?
Tugging and pulling on the door, she felt very foolish when she remembered she didn't take off the charm she'd put on it when she'd gone up to the staff room earlier. How foolish of her indeed.
"One moment deary," she called out, fetching her wand. Casting the spell, she then threw it open. "I'm very sorry about that deary. I didn't realize there was a charm on it."

As the door flew open and the professor apologized, Vanessa stood in the doorway a bit stunned at how fast it had flung open. She shook a bit where she stood, and sheepishly smiled. "I....I...I'm sorry, Professor. Is this a bad time?" the girl asked already back from the door as she was to quietly make her retreat. If the woman was busy than there was no way she was about to bother her, especially to do something like knitting. As much as Vanessa loved to knit, she really didn't want it to be just a bothersome request of the professor to enjoy the afternoon knitting with her.
Such a silly girl, Vanessa was. Vanessa shook her head internally, knowing that she should have owled or made an appointment.
