Braxton perked up a bit, not much, but still a bit when Ryan jumped in on his behalf. Although he wasn't so sure it that was the smartest thing to do considering Raynor's current mood. Giving Ryan a small glance he just stood there not knowing what to say. Then when Trixi told Raynor not to kick him out he was even more surprised. What happened to the normal 'It wasn't me it was him bit?' Thinking that if they were actually going to be tossed out he ought to ask what she thought they were suppose to do. Did this mean they had a free period to do whatever they wanted? "Umm...if we are infact kicked out what exactly are we suppose to do during the time?" Brax asked still a bit down about it all.

Benji walked into the Defense against the dark arts classroom, hoping to sit with the friends that he had made. As he noticed there was no seats at their table he through his stuff down on the table in front of theirs. He already had his wand and books out, but searched through his bag for his quill and ink. He was disappointed he didn’t get to be included in their conversation, but hoped he wasn’t the last first year in, so someone would end up sitting with them. He stared at the door.
Benji watched the teacher closely. She was sort of quiet, until a fight broke out with a boy and a girl. It seemed as if the boy had been antagonizing her so it was his fault, but Benji didn’t want to point fingers. He watched as the small blonde girl was dragged outside. To Benji’s surprise she didn’t fight or pull away from the lady. “What was all of that about?” Benji said, turning to face Maddy, Jethro, Summer and a girl he didn’t know the name of. “I’m Benji.” He said afterwards facing the girl.

Ryan had glanced over at Trixi after he had said it. He knew that she wouldn't like him taking Braxton's side, but he would have also stuck up for her if there was any prossible way. He couldn't think of an excuse, that Raynor would believe, for her going after Braxton. The only on that had popped into his head was that maybe she could always argue that she tripped, but he didn't know how she would get out of the statement that had followed. He also thought that it was pretty fair of Raynor to kick her out of the class for fighting. He didn't know any teacher that stood for that kind of thing, not even in his many years of muggle schooling. Seeing her glance at him he gave her a apologetic smile and then looked way. He didn't really want her kicked out too, but knew that there was probably no way she would be allowed to stay.
When she told Raynor to let Braxton stay he was amazed. Ryan didn't think that Trixi would ever say anything like that, but apperantly he was wrong. "Just let them both stay." he said pleading.

What was with this kid and getting lost?
Yep, Curtis was lost again and he wasn't even sure if he was on the 4th floor or the 6th. Did he even have classes on the sixth floor? He pondered on the thought for a moment before trudging on. He was going to loose more house points, and he knew it. He was late for Potions as well and had lost points. This was the Devil Woman's (his nickname for her) class.. how would she react to a late student? Maybe she ate first years? Thats probably why there are less second years.... Curtis swallowed hard. Oh now he had to draw that out.
Shrugging it off, the cherub boy turned another corner to watch some kids in his year walk out of a class. His spirits lifted slightly and quickened his pace, nearly tripping into the room. Him and his big feet.
Curtis's cheeks pinkened slightly as he took a seat towards the back, avoiding the Devil Women's eyes.

"Mr. Scobee, unless you wish to join them and loose your house an additional twenty points, I suggest you go sit down." She replied to the boy, however her gaze never left the two now standing at the door.
Ravenclaw was her house, and she wanted to see it win as much as the next Head did. After all, Ravenclaw remained undefeated for a number of years now (though last year did not technically count). Tamis liked to fancy herself that it was because they knew if they didn't behave themselves, she would take any lick of points they got away from them. Being in Ravenclaw did not gain you any leniency with the Deputy. If anything, she held you to higher expectations.
It was for this very reason that she had kicked Braxton out as well. He had continued to antagonize the poor girl, even after she had made it clear she was no longer joking. Not that Raynor ever believed she had. Turner was not an angel herself, but anger to that level had to be proved. And from a Slytherin, well, the behavior was to be expected. But a Ravenclaw was smart enough to know better.
The Professor was, however, pleasantly surprised when the Slytherin girl offered to let Spicer stay. His pleads for his own defense were pleasantly ignored.
"Why do you want me to let his stay, Miss Turner?" She asked the girl thoughtfully. But before the girl could reply, Spicer piped up again. "Turner here would report to Professor Bloxam to inform him she is no longer a Defense Against the Dark Arts student. I am already aware of the information with you, Spicer. What you do beyond that is not my concern. Once the T is in my grade book, I care very little how you spend this time."
Oh yes, they would still be getting a grade as that was required, but a very, very, poor one. A very subtle use of the word would there, as if the fate was still uncertain. But it was very subtle indeed.
There was a moments distraction when one of the other first years slipped passed her small Door Party, tripping as he did so. Raynor might have inquired, but if his ears had turned any more red one might assume he had a health condition. She wasn't out to embarass the boy.

Trixi had been watching Ryan and he smiled at her. Smiled? She was about to be kicked out of a class for the rest of the year and he was smiling. Part of Trixi was hurt. He was really the only person she knew who would actually talk to her and yet he was blaming everything on her and smiling about it. Trixi heard his words of letting them both stay but she wasn't sure if he really meant it.
Trixi's eyes now choose to avoid looking at Ryan, they instead staired at a differently coloured patch on the carpet. They probably would have stayed on it too had the old lady not actually asked her a question. Trixi looked up at the lady. Her voice hadn't sounded exactely mean or accusational. Trixi probably would have replied but then Braxton spoke. Then the ladie replied to him. Trixi didn't know who the man she had to find was, or where she was to find him. She also wasn't happy to hear that she was banned from this class forever. She didn't even know what it was yet,
Trixi's eyes followed the boy who just arrived and walked into the classroom. She would look anywhere but at Ryan right now. It was now that she decided that she was getting kicked out and that she would answer the ladies question and then leave to find this man. Trixi looked up at the woman once more "I don't really want you to let him stay" Trixi said truthfully to the professor "I would love to see him kicked out of the class with me" Her, she was telling the truth. But Trixi's voice dropped a little then and her gaze returned to the floor. "But there isn't any point kicking us both out.. we can't fight if there is only one of us" Trixi's eyes continued looking at the floor. "But everyone likes him better and probably will be happy to be rid of me. You migt as well call that train back to take me home now" Trixi's voice was soft and not very loud, it wouldn't travel far. Trixi had said all she wanted to. She turned away from the woman before turning back for a moment "Where do I find Professor Bloxam?"

"It's alright Ryan," Braxton said not wanting his best mate to be in the same situation he was just for sticking up for him. He actually wanted him to go sit back down so Raven didn't lose anymore points. Then listening to what Raynor was saying he was taken aback. "That ain't fair," Braxton interjected when Raynor said they were going to get a T. Although he knew he might just be ignored again. He had thought she was just talking about he one class, not the entire year. He couldn't believe it, it was Trixi who had tackled him. "You can't kick us out for the whole year. That's just not fair."
As soon as he was done Trixi opened her mouth again. Only this time it wasn't so nice. Oh sure she just wanted him kicked out because she was going to be. The little snake.

Ryan didn't want to lose his house anymore points or get kicked out to. He was on the verge of going to sit down when he heard what she had told Braxton about not being allowed back to the class and recieving a T. Ryan didn't know what a T was but from the look on Brax's face and the reaction Trixi had it must not have been a good grade. He could have deduced that too. Since class really hadn't started so how could they recieve anything but a bad grade. Still he didn't get how she could award them such a lousy grade when she wouldn't let them come to class. That just made absolutely no sense. If she wasn't going to allow them to come then she shouldn't be allowed to determine a grade.
Still standing there looking a bit stunned by everything, he really wanted to say something else but couldn't decide. Would he be mad at himself later for not sticking up for them again or would he be even more mad that he was kicked out because of them. Deciding that it would be best just to return to his seat and let Brax handle it he did just that.

The entire year? Nay, Raynor had never said that, she was not nearly that cruel. Especially not when she believed students were going to need this class, and soon. They could come back when they proved themselves. However, they were eleven, she did not exactly expect them to pick up on her diction. But she was fond of word games.
"It is perfectly within my power, Mr. Spicer."
She talked to him but staring instead at Trixi as she waited for a response to her question. When she finally got one, the barest of smiles tugged that corners of her lips. Honesty. That was a start, and no false attempt at being noble. That was one of the highlights of the Slytherin House, they usually did not have the patience for such false pretenses. A small speech, which got a small grunt from Raynor. At least one person liked her in the room, and it was the person that counted, even if the girl didn't know it. Chances are, Raynor never would let her know it.
And, she had just prove her worth for staying in the class.
"You don't find him, Miss Turner, you take a seat and keep the antics out of my classroom. That is the agreement, break it and you will not enter this room again. If that is clear, go join the rest of your classmates. You as well Spicer, since she vouched for you."
And with that, the Professor turned back to the rest of the class, leaving the two students to their own devices. Had she simply used the Ravenclaw to see how Trixi would react? Possibly, but teachers could not be that conniving, could they?
"As for the rest of you, welcome to Defense Against the Dark Arts. As you may recall, I am Professor Raynor, the Defense instructor here at Hogwarts," she doubted any of them had forgotten it. This is a Defense class. it might some day save your life though I hope it never needs to. This is not some useless trivia class, like History of Magic or Astronomy. You will never touch a book in this room, will never bring one to it, you cannot protect yourself by reading, you protect yourselves by practicing."
Hoped they would never need it was the truth. Though she knew every last one of them would. She saw young and joking faces, but she also saw potential victims if she did not give them the means to protect themselves. Every day the Deva became a more serious threat, and she saw all the more urgency for her topic.
"This might very well be one of your hardest classes. Not because the material is hard, but because it requires you to be serious. We will do a number of practical things in here, some of which are exercises you might enjoy. If you cannot handle them with maturity, I do not want you in this classroom. This means coming to class on time and prepared to work with your wand and to treat everyone in this room with respect. If you cannot handle that, you have every opportunity to do what Miss Turner and Mr. Spicer were just about to. No questions will be asked."
She waited, sincerely seeing if anyone would take her offer and leave the classroom, her peripheral vision particularly focused on a particular Ravenclaw and Slytherin. It was the one warning that she gave to her new group of first years each time she saw them for the first time, and it was the only warning they would ever get for the next seven years.

Braxton didn’t know quite what to say. He thought it was a little hurtful to say that he could only stay because Trixi vouched for him. That part struck him more then anything. Why couldn’t she just say he could stay and leave it at that? What was she playing at? Trixi didn’t really want him to stay. He didn’t even bother saying any before she turned away. What was there left to say?
Walking slowly over to his seat he picked up his bag and set it on the desk and then sat down putting his head in the middle of his bag, but still looking forward as Raynor gave her speech to the rest of the class. His mood only grew worse when Raynor pinned the attention back on him and Trixi again, but he didn’t even react. He just stared blankly ahead, off in a depressed sort of way. Which was kind of sad considering the little guy was always high strung and happy for the most part.

Trixi wasn't quite sure what had happened. One minute she was banned from the lesson for the rest of the year the next she was allowed back into the classroom and told she could stay. Trixi stood there confused for a moment before realising that she needed to go find a seat. She watched Braxton go and sit next to bighead and noted that as one place she wouldn't go sit in a hurry. Trixi's eyes scanned the room she could sit next to Ryan but she was sure he was angry at her. In the end Trixi decided to sit in the same row of chairs as Ryan and Jeremy but 2 or 3 seats away from Ryan.
Trixi took her place at the desk and rested her head in her hand, prooped up by her elbow. She didn't look at Ryan instead she just staired at the front of the room to one of the top corners. Trixi was only half listening to the professor speak, she was still puzzeling about why exactely she was still in this room and what part of what she said allowed her in. She was sure someone else would tease her for not being liked now that she had said it and for wanting to go ohme. Why had she given them mmore ammunition?

Jet managed a smile to Summer, and then leaned back in his chair. Ouch... The Gryffindor boy watched as that Trixi girl, his mate Brax, and other kid got involved with something including the Deputy. His blue eyes glanced over what was happening, managing not to say anything to the others, but catching Benji walk in some time or another. Finally however Professor Raynor spoke, explaining the circumstances of her class. The first year boy took in every word she said, despite the fact that he could probably fall asleep at any stage of this day.
Jethro smiled softly again, looking towards Summer, then Sally, then Maddy and finally, back to his Professor. Maybe this class wouldn't be so bad now that things were getting on track.

Ryan was sitting over by Jeremy when Raynor said that Braxton and Trixi could stay. He had given up on trying to convince her to let them and just wanted to not be involved. He thought that it was interesting the Raynor listened to Trixi but didn't listen to Braxton or him when they were talking. He thought that she should of at least listened to the ravenclaws as well. What didn't she think that they were important to listen to. Appearently not. It was odd that she was so short with Brax and actually being half nice to Trixi. In his opinion it should have been the other way around, but once again he stayed out of it. Though he still wondered why Trixi would have to report to a man named Bloxam and Brax wouldn't. That was a bit odd. Had he remembered or knew that there was different heads of houses it might have clicked with him, but it didn't.
Watching as Braxton took a seat back next to Hannah he frowned at the down look on his face. He knew that he wasn't happy just by his demener, but who could blame him. Ryan wouldn't be happy either if it were him in Braxton's position. Giving him a half smile, not daring to go and sit by him and interrupt the class, he turned his attention to Trixi who had decided to sit several seats away from him. Yep, she was mad at him. That was for sure, but he didn't know how to set things right so he gave her a half smile and turned his attention back to the front of the class, hardly even catching what Raynor was saying. It was more just back ground noise, though, he was pretty good at listening and thinking about other things at the same time.

Trying to draw as little attention to his movements as possible he carefully slipped his book back into his bag. He hoped the teacher hadn’t noticed when he had it out on the desk or that he had dog-eared some of the pages he had found interesting or thought that might be useful in class. He shifted uncomfortably in his seat as the teacher went on talking. When she said the part about being able to walk out of the class no questions ask for a moment he toyed with the idea of getting up and leaving. Just standing up, slowly putting his things back in his bag and then giving the teacher a big friendly smile as he walked out the door. But then again he doubted he could get back into the class. He quickly dismissed the idea, he knew he would never have actually done it anyway, this class was to important.

Harper made sure that she had her wand, completely sure. Actually, she had checked her pocket for the dang thing so many times that she couldn't even count them out on her hands or feet. A long, drawn out sigh escaped the young Ravenclaw's lips as she made her way down the hallway of the second floor. She knew that Raynor's classroom was somewhere around here- it had to be. Raynor was her head of house and teacher- Harper had done nothing bad to get on the professors side, except lose ten points for being late in Potions and now- late for her very own lesson.
As Harper reached the door, she heard the familiar voice of the short professor, introducing their lesson, and saying that they wouldn't need a book. Good- because Harper did not bring one. How prepared she was. She chewed on her lip as she stood in the doorway and looked at all of the students that were nestled in their little chairs, staring up at the teacher. She noticed a familiar head of hair- how she always noticed Curtis, and decided to take a seat beside him- since she hadn't met many other first years and didn't see Milo anywhere. Sitting down, Harper placed her wand in front of her, so she knew that she would have it. The young girl made as little noise as possible, but turned to smile at Curtis before looking back up at her short head of house.
