It seemed like Autumn was a time of change for Hogwarts. Not only were the leaves moving from their standard green color to the oranges and reds of Fall, the atmosphere felt different as well. Ellie didn't know if she liked it at first, the change that was. It was new, so it took a while to understand and therefor accept. The people seemed different, felt different even. She couldn't put her finger on it.
It was then that Ellie decided to do something surprisingly out of character, she decided not to dwell on it. Instead she made the decision to spend the day outdoors, another thing that was out of character for her. She preferred to be inside reading or hanging out with friends, being out and about had always been her brothers thing. She appreciated nature and all, but usually liked to appreciate from afar rather than up close. Today was a day of new things apparently. The girl donned a faded pair of blue jeans as well as a light gray blouse with a pink undershirt. She predicted there might be mud as well so she slipped on a pair of old sneakers just in case. She felt out of place once she was outside, walking towards one of the benches. She didn't have anything to do in mind and she supposed that was the issue.
Usually she needed a plan, and now... well she would have to do without for at least an hour or so while she enjoyed the outside. She could make it... she hoped.

Cooper wasn't a big fan of the fall. He didn't like it when it got colder and he certainly didn't like it when his dad made him put on a jacket and his hat. The hat he didn't mind so much but the jacket, he hated. The first thing Cooper did when he reached the courtyard was take it off and leave it on a bench. He ran to the corner of the courtyard where he kept his basketball and carried it back to the makeshift net hooked onto the wall. Cooper dribbled the ball a couple times, tossing it over his shoulder into the net. He continued shooting hoops until he realized he wasn't alone.
Turning around, Cooper noticed a girl in the courtyard. He slipped his basketball under his arm and he walked toward the older girl. He was a little shy, not sure if he should walk right up to her but he was already right behind her. Cooper caught up to her and walked by her side. He looked up at her, noticing she looked a little sad. "Hi," he called up to her.

Ellie barely heard the sounds of small feet beside her when she heard a greeting directed at her. She first looked directly to her right and upon finding no one there, she looked to her left. A slightly confused look crossed the girl's face and in a last ditch effort to find the source of the ' hi ' she looked down. Her lips lifted into a smile at the sight of a young child walking next to her. She had no idea who he was, or if he even belonged in the courtyard apparently alone.
" Hi there. I'm Ellie, what's your name? " He was quite frankly adorable in every sense of the word and the Ravenclaw felt as though her mood was lifted already. She slowed her pace slightly as she walked, trying to make it easier for the little boy to keep up. El glanced around, wondering if his parents would magically appear from behind a tree and claim him. When that didn't happen she looked back down to her potential young friend, curious if he wanted to play basketball or something.

"I'm Super Cooper," he told Ellie, looking up at her with a smile. He tugged his cape out from under his heavy sweater to show her. The red fabric unraveling itself and flapped behind him as he walked next to her. Cooper liked making friends with the students at the school, but he didn't really like meeting the older students. They were the ones that left sooner and Cooper didn't like it when people left. He'd already had an important person in his life leave him forever and it made him sad. But he didn't think Ellie was too old, so maybe they could be friends.
"What house are you in?" Cooper asked his new friend, wondering if she was in the same house as some of the people he knew. Maybe she knew Drew too and that would make Cooper happy. He missed his basketball friend.

Ellie's mouth twitched up into an even bigger smile as the boy's voice reached her ears and said that his name was Super Cooper. She watched as he exposed his cape and let it fall behind him. " Wow, you must be a super hero then. I'm just Ellie, but it's nice to meet you Super Cooper. " She curiously wondered if he went around introducing himself like that to all of the Hogwarts students. He appeared to be old enough to be left to his own devices while playing outside, so it would make sense if he befriended a couple of students. El slid her hands into her pockets as she walked slowly, keeping an eye on ' Super ' Cooper as she did so.
" I'm in Ravenclaw house. What house do you want to be in when you're older? " She didn't really know if the boy would end up attending Hogwarts, but it only made sense that if he were to be here then he would attend school once he was old enough... Which reminded her... " Are your parents around somewhere? "

"It's nice to meet you too, Just Ellie," he answered cheekily with a little giggle. His eyes lit up when he heard that the girl was in Ravenclaw; almost everybody he knew was in or had been in Ravenclaw. But then again, he really only knew Drew, Allegra and Brittany. Brittany had been the Gryffindor exception. When she asked what house he wanted to be in, Cooper surprisingly didn't know. He never really thought about school and all that important stuff. His mind never really traveled past the next meal time.
"I don't know," he answered truthfully, "I think I wanna be in Ravenclaw. Or in Gryffindor, 'cause they're red. I like red. My cape is red." He smiled up at her with his explanation. "I don't think I wanna be in the house with the snake. I don't like those dungeons, I got lost in them." The little boy frowned, remembering when he had been trailing his dad around them and had wandered off the wrong way. His dad had found him and carried him around the rest of the day so he wouldn't wander again.
"My Daddy is here somewhere," he told her, glancing out into the grounds at the hut in the distance, "He's looks after the plants and stuff."

(CRASH!!!! ;D)
Jason walked down the stair case that lead to the entry way of the school. It was a fairy nice fall day, so Jason figured since he was all caught up on his home work he would go out and enjoy the day. When he got to the bottom of the steps he saw a small ball, he walked over and picked it up then looked at it for a moment and tossed it form hand to hand for a second then smiled "this must belong to Lee's kid" he said to himself. He walked out into the courtyard and caught sight of Ellie and Cooper. He leaned up against a pillar and watched for a moment. When Jason herd Cooper call her "Just Ellie" He could not help but laugh a little. Jason had seen the little boy around school, and once talked to him when he was with Drew last year, but other than that he he didn't really know the boy.

' It's nice to meet you too, Just Ellie. ' While the girl hadn't meant for Cooper to take her name literally, she did like the sound of it. Plus hearing it in the boy's small voice made her giggle softly, a carefree smile gracing her features soon after. " Oh, yes, that is a very nice cape you have. Did you make it yourself? " While Ellie hadn't ever had a cape, she could definitely admire the one Cooper wore round his neck. He was a superhero and after all, most superheros had a cape of some sort. It was very fitting for the young boy.
" Oh, I see... well don't worry too much about the dungeons. It gets easier to not get lost once you know them a bit better. " She nodded encouragingly as she brushed her hair out of her eyes and looked back to where the old makeshift basketball hoop was. " Want to play some basketball? "
