((occ: Pretending I was always here since I'm obviously extremely late XD ))
Ash looked around her seeing everyone at least producing wifts of white smoke. She on the other hand had produced nothing. Trying again, Ash dug through her memories to find a happy one. It was extremely hard since her life had been one of those that nothing ever happened in. Her parents were doctors and she was always caught up in studying which drove her crazy and insane. Digging through and finally finding a okay one, although she highly doubted it's be strang enough to produce a patronus. She had gotten Poncho ( her white rat) before her first year at Hogwarts. Her parents just gave her a bundle of cash, not really caring what she bought with it since the whole thing was rather ridiculous to them. She wanted a pet since everyone else seemed to own one that year although she didn't want the over rated owl, nore did she like cats at all. She perfered something small, something she could carry around everywhere with her. A rat was perfect. She had named him Pocko, because it appealed to her when she was eleven. Anyway, back to the patronus. Ash concentrated hard on the memory, trying to remember every detail of her excitement and joy (( although now the rat only slept and bit her hand occasionally)). "Expecto Patronum" she said shyly, hoping not to draw attention to herself and the second failed attempt.
She glared at her wand, usually new spells came easily to her, this was a stubborn one. Aggrivated she set her wand down, and decided to watch the other's instead. Ash wondered whether her slacking would be noticed.

"Ok, happy memory. Which happy memory..." Anna though twirling her wand between her fingers. After trying out the charm a few times, it was getting a bit difficult. And all she managed to produce a small shimmer of sliver. Then she though of her brother in the summer. "Expecto Patronum!" she said again. This time, Anna was a bit more pleased with herself when the shimmer this time became bigger. Did she possibly see some kind of a figure of a head? It was probobly her imagination getting to her. Besides, she really wanted to find out what patronus looked like.

Drew was pleased, but still thought they cold do better. "Come on you guys. This isn't on e of those things where you think tenth-birthday-expecto-patronum," he told them, really wanting them to take the time to flesh out their memories. They'd never get past the misty nothing unless they took the time to focus. "Stop and really think it out for a few minutes. It's not like dementors are bearing down on you right now, so take the time. If it's your birthday, think of what it looked like... who was there... what did you eat... what did you get. Take your time."
"And you..." he said, pointing at Ash. "I know how much you like quiet, but you have to say the spell like you mean it."

She flushed, " I do mean it." Ash wondered why a fifth year was here teaching them anyway. " Not all of us live exciting lives on the edges anyway."
She couldn't see him as a teacher, although Ash knew better than to mouth off. She wasn't even sure if he was trying to be rude anyway. Besides, it was morely her fault for the outcomes of the other night.

Drew knew she hated him. He also had experience with her actually raising her voice. He decided to push. He needed her to say the spell first before strengthening her memory.
"No way. You meant it when you were yelling at me the other night," he told her, knowing he was riling her up. "This is you being scared of a little bit of smoke coming out of your wand. If you want to cast a decent spell, you have to say it like you're telling me to shut up."

She sighed, they both needed to get over that scene in the boy's dormitory. " Alright," she said without retorting. She stood up straighter, trying to think of a good memory, the one about Pocko obviously didn't work at all. Perhaps a vacation? She looked down still thinking. Finally, she brought her head back up, confident that she had it this time. " Expecto Patronum!" It was a louder than it had been before, although nothing happened. Perhaps the memory wasn't strong enough... She blushed in disappointment.

This calm girl standing before him was definitely not the same girl who was ready to burst a blood vessel in the boys dorm. And no, Drew wasn't ready to let it go because that was the girl he needed. She needed to show a little more command and that wasn't going to come from adding more volume. He stood in front of her, just looking down at her, waiting for her to either smack him or try the spell again.

Swallowing she decided to try again. In her mind, she picture herself with a red cape tied around her neck, standing on a tall mountain, proudly and boldly, ready to face any battle. She said to herself, that she wouldn't give up! No, she could take this spell! Like all the rest that she had mastered. The picture erased from her mind as it was a little to corny for her to bear. She had done fifth year stuff before, this patronum was fourth year stuff, she could handle it. Don't give up! Jai-yo! Jai-yo!(( Chinese term for you can do it!Pin might be incorrect XD )) she took a deep breath and stepped forward, cheesily. Ash wasn't aware at the moment that there was others around, obviously. She thought of even a stronger happy memory. She was just about four or five years old and nobody liked her in her neighbohood, the other kids bullied her and left her out of everything. One day, she was crying in the corner as they said she couldn't join them in their game. A boy that looked a little older than she was offered to play with her. BUT NO! It was a trick! They took her hat she was wearing and threw it in the nearby pond. By this time she was angry and sad.
" It's okay." said a voice behind her. It was a girl, her face was blurry as Ash couldn't remember her well. She held out her hand to Ash and embraced her as she cried. That was all she could remember although that girl had been her first friend. She had shown Ash the first act of kindness.
" Expecto Patronum!" she said once more, wishing this wouldn't fail again. She looked worried as she didn't see anything at first although then, from the tip of her wand produced a small, small wisp of white smoke. It rose in the air and vanished within a few seconds. Ash stood there, not knowing whether to think it was good or bad...

Talia watched as everyone else went, and was sure she'd have to go some time or later, but she didn't want to... She'd rather have more time to focus on a memory, which she still couldn't think of... on her own time, on her own terms... and definetly not in front of everyone. She couldn't believe that everyone had gotten as far as Drew had said they were going to get, but she knew she wouldn't get that far... she couldn't press herself to do it. Defense against anything wasn't her strong point.

Drew smiled as Ash finally got a bit of mist to escape the tip of her wand. "Not bad," he told her, losing the menacing tone and backing off. She'd probably do a lot better without him messing with her anymore.

((occ: When does this class end, or did it end already?x.x ))
She smirked. This was disappointing. She couldn't cast a wisp of smoke from her wand, the one she had just produced was hardly anything... Ash didn't understand, spells usually came easy for her. Although on the other hand that was in Charms, not Defense Against the Dark Arts. That was her worst subject after all, well, next to Astronomy that is.
Suddenly, she noticed that she didn't even know this kid's name. She had yelled at him and they had insulted eachother and such although... Ash glanced up at him, " Um, I never caught your name, I'm Ash, unless you already know that is, not that you would but-" she stopped herself when she noticed she was blabbering on about nothing again.

{It ends around July 31 } "Drew Thornton. Nice to meet you Ash," he answered, widening his smile towards her a bit and offering his hand. No, this was definitely not the same girl from the dorms that night. He had a feeling he'd like this version better. "Keep practicing. You'll get it."

Lauren watched everyone swishing their wands around and saying those words. She grinned, picking up her wand carelessly. She knew it took a powerful wizard to conjur up a Corporeal Patronus, and even Lauren would need practice, but obviously she needed to think of a memory first. She dug into the depths of her memory, trying ever so hard to find a memory.
"Expecto Pratonum," she said with feeling. Once she had a memory planted in her mind, she spoke these words. Suddenly a mist shot out from her wand. It was a surprsingly large mist, but a mist nonetheless. On her second and third thry the same thing happened. On her fourth attempt she thought she saw something, inside the mist, that is. A figure of some sort was coming out. But just as quickly as it appeared, it vanished.
Perhaps it was just her imagination. Come Stone, think.

((occ: THIS LESSON??))
She took his hand, More practise? Eh, I hate Defense Against the Dark Arts.... She sighed lightly, to herself. " I don't know if I can think of any more memories." she said running her fingers through her hair in that I'm-stressed sort of way. She wasn't graded on how well her Patronus come out, was she?

{RP time, aprox. one hour. IRL, lessons run for one month. That means we have about 15-30 minutes RP time left ;D }
"So just work on making this one stronger," Drew answered back with a shrug. When he had first gotten his Corporeal Patronus, it had taken him a full ten minutes to get that memory strong enough. "Don't rush it. It'll come."
