"Miss Evans, ten points to Gryffindor for recalling at least a tidbit of information learned in your first year, very good indeed. However, that is not the full answer either," the Professor responded offering the girl a small smile.
"Say I am walking down an alleyway against my better judgment, and a stranger suddenly comes out of the shadows and raises his wand against me. I whip out my own and shoot a curse at him. Am I therefore using the Dark Arts because I used magic that hurt him? That curse will harm him, so then that must be the Dark Arts according to your definition, right?"
This was actually a first year discussion, but that had been quite a while ago for the second years and they would need the answer of what 'dark magic' is, to answer what a dark creature is.

Carter, who had arrived shortly after Harmony, answered this one the professor's question this time. "You would be using the Dark Arts if you intended to harm the stanger with an evil purpose." Carter was a unsure of his answer, let alone how to make what he was thinking come out of his mouth, but he tried.
He read many books, but that didn't necessarily mean he was ready for this discussion. However, he did enjoy it despite the fact that he was coming up with thoughts of his own on the subject.

Parker was silent, brooding over the topic herself of course. Dark magic... Then when Carter spoke she first noticed him to be in thier grade level. Listening to his point of view it summed up what she was thinking. After him she raised her hand and spoke.
"Professer, does dark magic have to hurt someone? Couldn't it just be something with an 'evil' purpose?"

Deputy Raynor wandered through the isles, eventually coming to a desk in the mist of the second years, of which she sat on top of. No, she was not one for formalities. A stiff classroom made a stiff atmosphere, which was very difficult to learn in and equally likely to have the students fall asleep on you.
"Just an 'evil' purpose, Miss Harrison? Very interesting. Elaborated for us, please."

((Well, that will have to wrap it up folks. For future reference, a dark creature is a creature of magical origins that has the intention to harm or kill without having to use such means for survival. However, wizards sometimes classify a Dark Creature as any magical being that can be a potential threat to the wizarding-race, with survival purposes or not. For that is the nature of human-kind.
The following received credit for Lesson Three:
Parker Harrison Harmony Evans Kyle Thomas Theodora Jenkins Addison Wallace Aston Wallace Carter Bristow ))
