“Hi there cutie pants.” Cutie pants? Sometimes the nicknames she though of really threw Dante, especially when there were people around that they both knew. He did not show the slight discomfort at the name in any means, he just was not thrilled with it. He could not, what with Tallulah's genuine smile before him. She always seemed to brighten right up when they connected, and it was refreshing every time he saw that smile. He knew full well that by this time next week they would be missing each other. But she seemed just happy that he was there now, and he was happy to get to see her tonight as well. Living in the moment, it was all they could do before the school break.
She offered up a place to sit, and Dante only hesitated a moment. Sitting over at the Slytherin table was something he did not do often. Especially at a festival like this, so he checked around to make sure they were not going to start up any toasts that moment, and then sat next to Tallulah. “How could I pass up such an offer?” He smirked as he sat down, wrapping his arm around her. Dante then gave her a quick kiss and grinned, “so this is what it feels like to sit at the Slytherin table huh?” He commented to both Tallulah and Delilah. “How are you both doing? Looking forward to a break from this place?” Failing to hide his own excitement at the upcoming events, and the seventh year that hung around the corner. He wanted to make sure to not exclude Delilah from the conversation, she was sitting there before he was.

"The Auror Academy?" Drew answered Matty and he felt his face turn red at his assumption. For the past seven years there had only been one Academy and he had gotten to the point of forgetting not everyone thought the same.
"Thanks," he answered Tianne with a wide grin and a playful arm around her neck. It was just so huge that most of the time he wondered if he really could handle it. Even if he didn't fully belive it, it helped a little when people expressed some confidence in him.
"Got any final surprised up your sleeve for us, Drew?" Matty asked and he had to smile back. The best of his plans were the ones no one knew he was behind. That was the best way to stay out of trouble. Heck, only two people had known about the last stunt he pulled and neither of them had been Felicity.
"My sleeves are done hiding stuff," he answered. He had already pulled his final surprise and as he had hoped, no one had figured out he had done it.

Delilah had subconsciously tuned herself out of the conversation. They were a couple, and one - she didn't want to interupt, and two - she didn't want to be a third wheel. If it was anything she was jealous of, it was the fact that everyone she was friends with had a significant other, and she more likely than not, knew the both of them... Well, she was going to miss Hogwarts, but if there was one she wouldn't miss, it'd be all the lovesick couples. She sighed, placing her hands in her lap and fiddling with them, maybe if she had a boy to herself too, then maybe she wouldn't be so bitter towards her friends on the subject.
When she heard her name spoken she looked up, and smiled instantly, she hadn't really heard what Dante said at all, but knew she was begging spoken to when he was looking at her. "Uh... yes..." She said, hoping that would be good enough... She wasn't purposefully ignoring him, or Tal for that matter, but she had totally tuned out... She felt bad, but hoped the conversation would roll on and she could listen from here on out.

Lach was a little suprised when Matty hugged him, they usually weren't that close but he soon got over the inital shock. After last night, the two seemed to be even more closer than ever. It had been a bit embrassing at first but they had both been able to laugh about it afterwoods. The two had stayed up, well past midnight, just talking. Time had slipped away from both of them.
Hugging the girl back, Lach smiled. "So what have I missed, not much I hope" Lach was aware that he had walked in on a conversation the three friends had been having and he didn't want to pry. Still, he didn't want to be left out either. Shoving his hands into his pockets, Lachlan stood casually next to Matty. He was unsure whether they were allowed to sit down at other house's tables. Probably not but it didn't matter anyway. The feast should be beginning soon. The tables would be filled with foods of every kind, plates would be over flowing and stomach's would be full, very soon.
"Mmm" Lach mumbled to himself. "I am so hungry"

Smiling towards Drew as he explained the Auror Academy, Tianne was slightly relieved. She had just assumed that that was what he had been talking about, she referred to it as the Academy when she was talking about career choices to her parents, and she had just presumed that Drew would want to be an Auror. She already knew that he was great at that kind of stuff, and well, Tianne had just guessed. Laughing, Tianne poked at Drew's sleeve, at the mention of his 'surprises'. "So, ending on a sensible note?" She grinned jokingly, hoping the boy didn't get offended.
Grinning at Lachlan as he eagerly joined them, Tianne poked her tongue. "If it isn't the boy who cheated." She said, tilting her head on the side questioningly, a smirk upon her face. She was referring to the soccer game that the two had played. Tianne was only joking, she just hoped that the boy realized that.
"Nope, I guess everything is just starting." She nodded, this time turning her gaze to the doors and the many people that were making their way through them. A lot of people had sorrowful looks, but there was a selected few that were as excited as Tianne now was. "Me too!" She said, bringing her thoughts back to the food, replying back to Lachlan's want for food.

"Alright, come on, Coop," Nathan beckoned to his son as they walked to the Great Hall. The little boy toddled along behind him, looking around at the castle. A few older students rushed past them, looking over their shoulders at the little boy who didn't belong. Nathan was sure Cooper hadn't met every student there, but had discovered he was certainly making his rounds. Nathan had been wary about letting the boy go off on his own, but somehow Cooper had always managed to find a student who he could tag along with.
"We're sitting up at the front, alright? But if you ask nicely and Professor Raynor says it's okay, you might be able to sit with the students," Nathan offered to his son, his hand resting on the boy's back as he led him through the crowd.

"Aw, alright," Cooper answered, feeling defeated. He figured he wouldn't be allowed to sit with the students and he'd be stuck in there in front of everybody. For a boy as shy as he was, sitting at the front didn't seem all that appealing. He walked in front of his dad, feeling his hands guiding him safely through the sea of black robes. Cooper couldn't see where he was going at all until the broke through and walked up the aisle to the head table.
But on the way, Cooper spotted a friend. Sitting at the Slytherin table, he saw the girl he'd met the day he explored the secret passage. Cooper wriggled free of his dad's hands and ran up behind Lu. "Hi Lu!" Cooper greeted her happily, tapping her lightly on the shoulder.

And who were these good friends? Were any of them girlfriends? Chris realised he was still shaking Luke's hand. He also realised his mouth was quite dry, and gulping scented air, he managed to say 'Yeah - I'm Chris... Nagle, first year... I mean....' He felt so embarrassed. Ah! Chris. And the boy was a first year. Luke felt his heart skip a little, then pang uncomfortably. A first year. The age difference was enormous! There wasn't any good reason for two people - two boys no less - to come together against those sorts of odds. That age difference was titanic! But when did that ever stop anyone? It was a barrier, yes, a barrier... not a blockade. Like water, when things got in the way, sometimes they were just weak enough to be overlooked. Luke saw Chris get a little distant. 'Chris? Thats a real strong name, lad.' Luke smiled and thumped Chris on the back, playfully. He'd give anything to have Chris look into his eyes again. To look into those clear young eyes.... Luke was touched by the boy's courage. He wondered whether Chris knew what this was, what the consequences were. It certainly wasn't easy being a wizard in a world of Muggles; being this couldn't be too difficult. But they were very different feelings. One meant you could excuse the "defect" by virtue of bloodlines... that maybe, somewhere along the line, there was someone quite like you. The other, though, was different. No one could quite relate to that deep sense of isolation, of being the only one. 'So tell me, Chris lad, what you're plans are for the holidays? Got anything big planned with your family, eh?' Luke wanted, if nothing else, for Chris to know that he was there to be trusted. If it ever came down to just that. And as always, deep down inside, part of Luke wanted more.

No one could quite relate to that deep sense of isolation, of being the only one. 'So tell me, Chris lad, what you're plans are for the holidays? Got anything big planned with your family, eh?' Chris smiled a little at the compliment. He wasn't given much chance to look up at Luke before he felt the Badger's hand thump him on the back a few times. It was a strong thump, though Chris guessed it wasn't meant to hurt. And yet he couldn't help it. He slipped off the bench against his will and nearly landed on his bottom! He reached out for stability. Brushing himself off, Chris laughed a silent laugh as he slid back on the bench. Maybe klutziness was in the family? Well Caleb had it for sure. When asked if he had anything big planned for the summer, Chris could only shake his head. 'Not really.' Then he thought a little more. 'My stepbrother, Philippe, just got married so maybe we'll be going to France to meet his wife.' Chris wanted so greatly to look up at Luke, but some warning in his heart told him not to. To get hooked on something that wasn't acceptable, that would be pretty devastating. So he kept staring ahead, at the floor. It was better. 'And yourself?' Chris asked. 'Have you got any big plans for the holidays?' 'Luke...' He liked the sound of the name as it rolled off his tongue. It was like some top secret password to someplace very exclusive -- someplace that only select persons could go to. He kept saying the name over and over in his head. Luke, Luke, Luke...

Luke liked hearing Chris say his name. It was an otherwise plain name, but when Chris said it... well it felt special - meaningful. And so did Luke. But he couldn't gage whether or not he actually meant something to the boy.
'You have a stepbrother in France?' Luke asked, curious to know more now that Chris had mentioned family. Did he have a large family? A small one? Were they all related by blood? Were none of them related by blood? Family ties always intrigued Luke. How any number of persons could be tossed together, like pieces of lettuce in a salad bowl, and then expect to call one another brothers and sisters - or perhaps stepbrothers and stepsister - was a bond that never really seemed to be too strong. It held more like sewing thread than sturdy mountain climbing rope.
'Well I have plans, just not big ones.' He said in response to Chris' query. 'I was planning on going to that summer camp they sent out invites for. The one in Wales...' He looked down at Chris. 'I don't suppose you got one, did you?'
'Chris....' He wasn't mocking, but mimicking the boy. Perhaps there was more of an understanding between them if Luke was playful. And what if Chris had gotten an invitation to the camp and was, in fact, planning on going? Would he have been shy about it and not included the camp in his summer considerations... or was this suspected trip to France in place of the camp? Luke hoped that Chris would go to the camp. Things might get underway if he did!

Yeah, I have a brother - correction, stepbrother - in France, Chris thought. He rarely got to see Phil though.
"Well, yeah. Phil is always in France, and I'm always in England so we don't really see one another. It helps the whole, stepbrother issue." The stepbrother issue... hehe yeah. Phil was NEVER around. He had his stupid Quidditch practises and whatnot. It was stupid, honestly. "I'm his family... I mean, We're his family, and he doesn't really seem to care that we're in one place he's not." Chris hadn't meant to say that out loud. Some things just slipped. But Luke probably wouldn't notice. Would he?
"So, no big plans?" Chris said.
"I was planning on going to that summer camp they sent out invites for. The one in Wales... I don't suppose you got one, did you?"
"Actually, yeah I did." Chris felt his heart stop almost. "And until you spoke of it, I had forgotten... yeah, I'm going too." Chris adjusted his grip on the bench, inching his hand closer to Luke's. He wasn't really sure why he did that, but it felt like the right thing to have done. He blushed. Anyhow -

'No way? You're going!' Luke nearly shouted. He hadn't quite realised how silent it had gotten around the hall, and surely his exclamations were heard (if not by everyone) by most there. He looked around, somewhat embarassed at his outburst, but it seemed that no one else wanted to pay heed to it, so he turned back to Chris, smiling.
'That's grand, I mean, thats just brilliant - great!' He was so excited that not only was Chris going, but he was also someone that Luke knew and could, therefore, converse with, spend more time getting to know and all that. Oh this was going to be one marvelous summer, right?
Out of the corner of his eye, like a subtle offering of something - an alliance of a sort? - Luke caught Chris' hand move closer to him. It was a temptation to just reach out an touch it... no other motive clear or present in Luke's mind... but just to touch his hand. Muggles had something they called electricity. It was used similarly to candles and lanterns in this world, and like candles, this thing called electricity had the power to burn one; it also had the power to excite in little shockwaves through the body. When this happened, one felt their skin prickle in a half-discomforting, half-energising way. Their hair would stand up a little, they'd feel goosebumps, their hearts would beat a little faster. When you pass your hand through a candle with an open flame, you don't feel that way; one mostly feels like they've burned themselves (and this is primarily true).
Right now, though he'd never felt it personally, Luke could imagine what it felt like to have little shockwaves of electricity shooting up through him. Wanting to touch Chris' hand sparked this. But he couldn't, could he? What if someone saw?

Allegra wasn't a big fan of going to school feasts since she had finished school. She couldn't sit with the students anymore and felt out of place at the staff table. This year, the feast was even harder for her to attend... it would be her last with her little brother.
Of course, Drew was far from being little anymore. The scrawny little kid who had annoyed her for years had grown up considerably and now resembled a man more than a boy. It was kind of scary to think about. He would go off, put himself in danger to fight for the things he thought were right, and she would stay at the castle where she felt safe and at home.
She had once been much braver, determined to give Hogwarts a go instead of going to school back home in California. It had been Drew who had fought the move and now he was going to travel all over the place. She knew what it was. She wasn't ready to be a grown up quite yet.
Which probably accounted for the attitude she got from the rest of the staff. They treated her like a young girl because she really didn't want to be an adult yet. With Drew leaving school, she realized she needed to grow up too.
Striding up the center isle to the head table, she poked her brother in the back as she passed him. It wasn't exactly an act of the maturity she had decided to embrace, but under the circumstances it was unavoidable. Drew was still her brother after all.
She took her seat at the mostly empty table, smiling pleasantly at her fellow coworkers. At the moment it was just Nathan who she might talk too, and she wondered where Super Cooper was at the moment.

Cameron had wondered down to the great hall. She sighed softly as her life here went by so fast. She couldn't even remember about half of the time she was here. She stayed sick with some unknown disease that took its time to heal over. Cameron hated that. She bit her lip coming down from the stairs. She swiftly walked toward the doors before pausing. Cameron hardly knew anyone anymore. It sucked so bad for her. She sucked in her lower lip to keep from crying. She refrained from actually heading to the door. She paced in front of the statues before her feet began to move unwillingly to the Great Hall. Cameron walked in, seeing familiar faces, but she didn't stop to talk to one of them.
She sat down at the table with her head down, feeling uneasy. Sick actually. A wave of nervousness washed over her. She closed her eyes hoping it would pass so she wouldn't have to get up and run out like an idiot. She bit her lip as she opened her eyes. Cam kept her eyes to the table. She didn't want to make a big scene out of herself.
Raising her head just a little bit, she peered out nervously at all the students. For a graduate, she acted like an extremley nervous first year. Calm yourself Cam, Jeez! Cameron thought to herself. She saw all the familiar faces, some glanced at her, but none the less, the probably didn't remember her for nothing. Cameron gave a small shrug at the thought and continued to peer around at all the kids while she sat alone at a table.

"Huh?" Lach said suddenly startled from his thoughts. He had been so focused on...food... that he didn't even realise he had spoken out loud. Laughing awkwardly, Lach turned to face Tianne, the girl who had just spoken to him. "Everytime I see you Tianne, your always eating, I didn't think it was possible for you to not be hungry" The boy was joking and from his past experiences with Tianne, he was was pretty sure she'd see it as a laugh as well.
Grinning goofily at his own joke, Lach suddenly realised why he had been so eager to talk to Tianne. He had something he really wanted to ask her but this was one thing he wasn't sure about. He didn't know how Tianne was going to react to his question. The thought had been on the boy's mind for quite awhile. Turning a light shade of pink, Lach suddenly realised he should just spit it out. ''Hey Tianne, are you busy these holidays, i mean if you are its ok but well, I.... I just wanted to know if you'd like to catch up sometime... maybe?"
