April 12 5:50am
It was another night of restless unfulfilled sleep for Dante, and the migraine was the perfect example of just how bad a rest he had gotten. His thoughts clouded by the sharp pain that felt like it was just behind his eyes made walking around and getting ready for the day somewhat hard. Thankfully it was Sunday so he did not have to worry about any classes.
So today he wore a simple t-shirt and pair of khaki shorts, with his favorite sandals that were probably a little to worn out to wear regularly. The night before had been full of unwelcome thoughts, reoccurring nightmares and a late start to the night. Everything put together in such a way had caused this pain for the Ravenclaw, as he walked toward breakfast he realized just how early it was in the morning.
The food would be fresh, that was for sure, and the likelihood of a loud crowd was diminished. Something Dante was happy to realize, the sound of chaos brought by a group would no interfere with his ability to think. As it was now in getting to the great hall he avoided the windows on the path. Their light caused his sensitive forehead enough pain that he actually whimpered in the discomfort of the situation.
Closing his right eye and tilting his head to the side as he did it. He didn't care if anyone was even around to hear his minor cry of pain, it was light anyway. Though from that point on he did walk with his right eye closed, as for some reason still unknown to him it did suppress the pain just a bit. He walked that way for some time, with no improvement as he continued. He figured as he woke up the pain would go away, but found that the factor of being awake had very little to do with the migraine.
As he entered the Great Hall he scanned it with his one open eye and found the silence to be rather welcome. The light in the room was a little brighter than Dante really wanted, but he dropped his chin a little bit to avoid at least a little of the light. A clear morning sky was seen above, and he really wanted very little to do with it. He made his way to a usual spot at the usual table, and grabbed a piece of the fresh slices of toast that were sitting in the middle of the table.
Dante felt like toast was a pretty safe thing to eat this morning, just in case there was something worse than a migraine coming for the day. He did not think that was the case though, the pain was one he was almost use to. And so he poured out a cup of apple juice and set it next to his plate and proceeded to butter the toast. Once that task was finished he normally would have taken a bite.
But the migraine interfered and after setting the knife down, Dante rested his hand on the edge of the table. Then, to rest his head and get out of the light of the room he placed his forehead on top of the hand. It was a comfortable position, out of the light, eyes closed he could relax. Now if only he could look up to get some toast in his system the day would start getting a bit better...

6:05am
For a Sunday it was early, yet the Great Hall was still lit up and pleasant as always. Celina felt different… from the day she turned seventeen, there was an aura about her that was different, a bit lighter, and a bit more… free. Of course, why, Celina could only keep to herself but it wasn’t only she who noticed the changes. There was a green eyed wonder who’d follow her around could tell that there was something released from the young woman’s being… but, not completely.
One foot in front of the other, Celina tried not to clomp too much, her black flip flops hitting the stone floor, her precious pets purrs loudly heard by anyone she walked by. As it turned out though, there wasn’t really anyone in the Great Hall at this hour on a Sunday, of course, anyone that Celina associated with usually. However, there was someone there that Celina didn’t associate with… she turned her face away from the Raven boy, not wanting to acknowledge him, and at the pretty empty table she sat a few seats down from him on the opposite side.
Why bother him, after all? Not only was Celina not so sure about the boy all together, him and his Italian accent… but now he was joining the quidditch team? If anything, Celina could tell that that was a bad choice on Jax’s part. Celina shook her head to herself, trying not to glance over at the boy as much as she found herself doing. Of course… he looked uncomfortable to say the least and it sparked Celina’s curiosity… what was wrong with him?
Walking around, under the table and through the legs of an unsuspecting male, Emerald could always find a free meal when she looked hard enough. The human sat at Celina’s table, smelled differently than most of the guys Emerald had met during her years in the house, but it wasn’t a bad scent either. Her long, black tail, wound itself around the boy’s legs as she began to rub her body up against him. Mewing softy, she turned her head to stare with her gorgeous green eyes up at the boy, asking for some of the sausage that she cold smell on the table… she didn’t care if he had any, or if he didn’t… all she wanted was a piece of whatever there was.
It didn’t echo, but it was enough to know what was going on. Celina stared hard at the plate she’d made for herself and froze… what did she do? Did she call over to her pet to bring her away from wherever she was mewing? Or did she just leave it be? For now, Celina said nothing and decided to leave it be. Emerald would find her way over to her, as she tended to do usually, any ways… but she only hoped that she wasn’t anywhere unwelcomed… slowly, Celina’s dark orbs moved in the direction of Emerald’s mews…
…in the direction of the unpleasant looking Raven boy, Dante Vroom.

If not for the sharp pain in his head the resting spot he had found on his hand would have been a great place to fall asleep. He could not tell how long he had been sitting like that, but he knew it had to be several minutes, though it felt like far longer. His free hand waved in front of him in an attempt to blindly find the toast he had just made.
Once he found it he brought it to his mouth and shoved a section in. Gravity was working against him as a dusting of crumbs fell to the floor. Not that he cared about such things right now. His eyes were not even open to witness them fall. Of course, had they been open he might have noticed the black ball of fur walk past him the first time. Or even catch the hint of a shadow from it's owner.
He became very much aware that the cat existed when it brushed up against his leg. His first reaction was to jump, it was not what he expected to happen at all. Contact with his leg brought his eyes open, searching for what was making the strange feeling on his leg. The reaction almost caused him to kick forward, and whatever it was would likely have been thrown out from the table, or be tossed straight at the flat bottom of the table.
Thankfully hesitation and a “mew” prevented him from doing just that. It was a cat? He finally locked his eyes onto it, yep it was a little cat with big green eyes that were staring at him. He could easily figure out what it wanted, and he was not going to give it anything from the table. In part, it was not his cat to feed, but at the same time he was somewhat unable to raise his head to survey the table for something for the creature. “What is it little thing” he whispered to the cat, “can't you see I am in no mood to deal with you?” His face wrinkled in pain after he finished the thought. He quickly put the toast that was still in his hand back onto the table. Tilting his head side to side he attempted to find a sweat spot that would relieve the pain if only a little. But such a spot was not easily found, and in his frustration the hand that had set the toast down clenched into a fist.
Head still twisting back and forth the fist raised in the air and came crashing down onto the table, barely missing his plate though he would not have known it. The pain in the hand was not even noticeable though as the his threshold was tested. His eyes closed again and he winced exhaling in yet another small whimper.

Emerald sniffed the air again, the sausage filling all of her senses and making every taste bud in her mouth scream for even just a bit of that delectable breakfast food. Of course, none of the crumbs that fell toward the floor that she inhaled were any bit of the meat she wanted, and so she mewed again, continuing her rubbing up against the boys leg. It wasn’t until she felt the slight pressure of the legs against her body as the person came to notice that she was in fact there, that Emerald became a bit more hesitant herself.
She froze, not knowing what to do, and she looked toward the legs of her human, wondering if she should be taking coverage near Celina, but then, nothing happened. The boy looked down at Emerald, and the black cat’s large eyes only became larger as she tried to plead for even a tiny morsel of the sausage that she could predominately smell. He didn’t sound at all like what others usually sounded like when they saw her… he was almost stern with her in his whisper, and Emerald pouted in the only way a cat could; she laid down at his feet, her backside still arched, her tail winding it’s way around the boy’s leg. He wasn’t going to give her anything…. What a foul sport…. Emerald seemed to think to herself.
Celina heard the mews and looked under the table to where she heard Emerald, still noticing that she was located near Dante’s feet. Unable to hear his whisper, Celina’s eye brows furrowed and she crossed her arms. It’s not like she could really say anything to the boy, after all, the cat really wasn’t supposed to be in the Great Hall. “Don’t mind her much….” Celina tried to say as nicely as she could, her soft tone only portraying her wonder about the boy in general.
Again, she noticed he didn’t look well, but it wasn’t until she tried to take a bite of her own food and heard his whimper that she finally sighed. It wasn’t nice to not help someone, especially someone from her own house… “Are you alright, Dante?” Celina asked.

He was so focused on emptying his thoughts and finding relief in his head that Dante almost missed a voice ask a question. Was he okay? Probably, it might even depend on who was asking. So he raised his head from his hand scanning to the side in order to put a face to the voice. It sounded familiar enough. But when he found the face and the name finally came to him Dante had no clue how to react. He completely missed her first statement, and had to set his forehead back on his hand before speaking to her.
Again his eyes were closed and he thought of an answer. “I'm fine except for a monster of a headache,” he said a bit loud to make sure his odd angle did not interfere with her ability to hear him. His eyes opened again to find the cat, it was probably Celina's. That realization made him more determined in his not feeding it. Pleading eyes only worked if he looked at them, and he felt bombarded on multiple fronts because of this. Best to confront the one that understands what he was saying...hopefully. So he shifted, raising his forehead off his hand and replaced it with his chin. His eyes went to Celina, “Your cat?” He was not in the best mood, and Celina was not highest on his ”be nice” list. Why that was the case was beyond him, she was stand-offish all the time without much of a reason. In his mind she disliked him, and so he avoided her.
“If it is yours, you might consider feeding it.” His voice flat and a little quieter than normal, “or else it will go around bothering others.” His head tilted to the side and his expression went to a pout, almost mimicking the cat. “Might even starve the poor thing.” Sarcastic? Very, but he was indifferent to it. Judging his past experience the girl was likely to look away in a huff. Hopefully taking the pest with her. Any other day he would welcome the cat. But between his clouded mind and Celina there was no space for pleasantry.
