"Elevens. The....Elevens," Arianna thought maybe Felicity knew that name at least. It had been what the newspapers were calling the group before it got out that they were calling themselves the Deva. Odd that someone involved with a newspaper, even one as small as the school's, wouldn't know that much. Arianna thought everyone did.
Keeping her head covered, Arianna nodded as Felicity repeated the short version of the story. It sounded like she'd got it all. How confusing could it be?
"A friend," she repeated after the Gryffindor had stopped again. Arianna struggled against her instincts to blurt out the name. No matter how terribly hurt she felt, she just couldn't bring herself to say who it was. She would feel like she was stooping to their level to get even. Arianna was better than that. At least, she tried to be.

Elevens? Deva and Elevens? Maybe it was a name for the Elevens she hadn't yet heard, it was plausible. And everything made a bit more sense, somewhat. But that left more questions. What were they doing in the U.S. and why were they after her? What information did she know that could be useful to them? Or perhaps like with Drew, or at least what he had told her, someone was withholding information about something that they were trying to extract from the girl and so they were just torturing her for the fun of it? Still left too many questions.
"A friend," she repeated after the girl. No, she wasn't going to ask for the name of said friend, but why? "Have you talked to this friend since?" It seemed highly unlikely with the way she was talking about it, but one never knew unless they asked. "Or rather, have you talked to anyone about this?"
That was a good question. Who else knew of this friend?

Arianna's head moved slightly; a nod that was slow and inhibited by her arms and the table it lay upon. She HAD talked to her friend. Many times, even, since the beginning of school. And that is what made it all the more worse. All the conversations they'd had, even talking about that particular incident over the summer, and not a word had been spoken about the other girl's involvement. She went on as though she hadn't been there, as though the whole story was new to her, and faked (for that was what Arianna thought it was now) her concern. Of course, she had acted a bit odd as Arianna retold what she could remember...maybe the Ravenclaw should have known then that something was wrong.
"I couldn't remember faces, though," she explained, daring to lift her head again. Her face was red and splotched, eyes bloodshot and filled with tears. The table beneath her was also splashed with salty water, collecting in small puddles laying between the girl's arms. "They gave me something....something that made me dizzy. Like when you're drunk. I couldn't remember much when they asked me about it, but I'm sure I saw her there. I'm positive she was there."
She said it with a finality that said that was that. No questions asked, Arianna knew who had made it all possible.

All right, the nodding girl was saying she'd talked to her friend, which was good, wasn't it? Unless this particular thing wasn't discussed, or it had been and had gone unresolved. And when she finally explained, Felicity had to comment to herself that if dizziness came when one was drunk, she would have to be sure not to get drunk. Dizziness and she didn't mesh well. However, if she was dizzy from something given to her, how sure could she really be that it was her friend? Then again, it was her friend and she should know whether or not said friend had been there.
"Do you know why?" The answer was most likely no, or maybe it was a possibly. Either way, until she talked to her friend completely, things wouldn't be much better.

Arianna shook her head again. How was she supposed to know why Krissy was there? Arianna had thought they were friends. Not just friends, best-friends. The kind that are practically joined at the hip. So close, some might ask if they were twins if it weren't for the fact that they were clearly not born from the same parents. No one knew the girl like Krissy did. Not even Drew. Mostly because there were certain things Arianna just couldn't talk to the boy about. With Krissy, though, anything was open for discussion. They rarely fought, even if they stood on opposite sides of a debate, and almost always knew what the other was thinking. Arianna couldn't have a closer friend amongst all the girls in the school and that was why she felt so sick to think Krissy would do this to her; to have someone who knew you inside, someone you'd do anything for, and she had literally thrown Arianna to the wolves. Not just thrown her to them, but stood there and watched. Arianna couldn't think of anything worse you could do to someone whom you claimed to care about.
