Having snagged a back corner of the library, a nice cozy corner where she'd dragged some comfortable furniture to one spot, she sat and waited. There was a small table in front of her covered with spare papers, a bottle of ink, a few well-sharpened quills and two cups with filled with ice and two teacups. On the floor beside her, in a small cooler she'd borrowed from the kitchens, were a few bottles of butterbeer. And there was a jug of warm water next to it. In reality, she didn't know what the girl liked to drink and hadn't thought to ask, so she decided to have two choices, she just hoped she liked one or the other.
Having left an over-stuffed chair and a small sofa that had been in the corner to begin with, she sat in another chair. Actually, more sank into the cushions it provided, and thinking of cushions she still had to return that one to the Gryffindor common room, she was actually a bit surprised no one had said anything about it having gone missing.
The owl she had sent was official enough, it had requested the presence of the girl, provided the date and time; Felicity had heard some strange things over the castle, and she wanted the story, and she had agreed to give it to her for the paper. The only other thing she hoped for was to make a good impression, the girl was his friend and she didn't want to mess anything up by way of a third party, hopefully all would go well.

Arianna was a little nervous about the whole thing. Why had she even agreed to this? Maybe a part of her wanted to get the story out so people would stop giving her odd, questioning looks. But a bigger part of her was certain it would create even more questions in people's minds. Questions they might actually voice. Arianna wasn't too sure that would be a good thing, or a bad one. Hopefully it would at least stop the looks.
Stepping into the library with a long-sleeved shirt, long pants, and a cap pulled far over her face, Arianna made her way slowly to the back of the room. Today just didn't seem to be her day. Not only with the worries about this interview, but also because of the annoying itchy patches all over her skin that only seemed to worsen when she took her potions. She hadn't taken them at all today because of the spots all over her body (thus her reason for covering herself completely) and it had helped only slightly. The down side was that her knee was hurting again. Arianna really needed to start taking it easy before she damaged it any further and was stuck with a cane like the librarian.
"Hello? Oh....hi...." Arianna bit her lip as she shuffled into a chair across from Felicity. Even though the letter had come from the Gryffindor, Arianna had somehow gotten it in her head that the girl had set up the interview and that someone else on the paper would be talking to her. She was a little surprised to see the girl and wasn't sure how to react. Last she knew, Felicity was accusing Drew of some pretty hefty falsehoods. Arianna had no clue if they'd worked things out, though. Drew had probably spent more time with the Gryffindor lately than he had with any of his other friends.

"Hi Arianna," she smiled brightly as the girl took a seat across from her. The blond hadn't been certain if she would prefer a chair or the sofa, and had decided to have both as she didn't know how the Ravenclaw's leg was doing; the last time she had really spoken to her she seemed to prefer to stretch her leg out. "Thank you for coming."
It was polite and sincere. Felicity was happy she had decided to comply to give her the story to clear things up, and being that she was the official photographer for the paper, it was even nicer in her opinion so she could feature one of the reporters. Unfortunately with being an official meeting, the Gryffindor wasn't sure how relaxing it was going to be. Of course when she and Celina had done the interview with the professor things had been very professional, but when she'd completed the interview with Tristan it was all very laid back; but this was a different person and each person chose their own way of doing things.
"How are you?" she asked indicating her leg, though she meant her well-being in total. Felicity had of course heard many of the rumors that had been flying around about how she had hurt her leg and whatnot. None of them were very believable though, and this was really the only proper opportunity she had to ask.
Then realizing she hadn't actually offered her a beverage she suddenly took on another uncomfortable air of professionality again. "Would you like something to drink?" she inquired quietly. "I have hot tea, and butter beer if you do. I don't have anything to eat though," she said suddenly concerned that she should have provided something to munch on. That would have made it more comfortable, wouldn't have?

"Um...okay," Arianna replied, mistakenly thinking Felicity was asking about her overall well-being. She wasn't quite sure how accurate that assessment really was. Okay meant somewhere between good and bad or could simply be a way to say 'I'm not dead yet.' The Ravenclaw was feeling a bit miserable, but with certain things going on right now, she couldn't be completely down in the dumps.
"I'll take some tea," it was what her mum always gave her when she was feeling down. Perhaps it would help today. Even if it was coming from someone a few years younger and nowhere near the motherly figure Arianna wished she had right now. "I don't know if my stomach could take anything else today, anyway."

Nodding her head slightly, she couldn't help but wonder if the Ravenclaw had meant okay as in 'I'm okay and it's none of your business' though she didn't think so because of the tone she'd used, or if she'd meant okay as in a shrugging off the uneasiness of possible questions. Yes the blond loved to ask questions, but she wasn't about to pester Arianna about what she'd meant when she was going to be pestering her about the issue at hand already.
"Tea it is," she said with a friendly smile. Felicity didn't ask about her stomach, either she wasn't feeling well or she was nervous about the interview. Of course either sounded quite plausible, but she wasn't going to ask. Grabbing the thermos from the floor, she opened it and poured a bit of hot water into each teacup, glad she'd asked for it. Felicity was nervous about the interview herself, afraid she'd botch something up, say the wrong thing, just do anything that would create a bad impression. Pushing a small platter, full of things needed for tea, including an array of tea bags, that had also been sitting on the table she again smiled at Arianna. I really just hope I don't do something wrong.
With Tristan, Felicity had been more relaxed as he was in her House, there was a more comfortable level available, with the professor she had another with her, this was Arianna, Drew's friend. And if she did something to hurt her feelings, she could just see the boy being angry with her all over again, and that was the last thing she wanted.
After the tea was set, she shuffled a few papers together wondering just where to start. There were many question that could be answered, but which was the right one to start with? Perhaps a rather vague question just asking about what had occured? Maybe. "So, Arianna, I've heard a few interesting things, mostly truly unbelievable of course. One thing I've heard was about you tripping over an octopus after falling into a pile of starfish that had been charmed to make those whose eyes fell on them believe they were a large chocolate cake." Another one of Felicity's smiles appeared on her lips, that was one the more far-fetched stories. "Another thing I heard was how an ostrich ran headlong into you, pushing you off of a cliff that had a soft landing of butterscotch pudding below."
Yet again, something that seemed well out of the belief system. "I was wondering if you'd care to put a stop to said rumors and let us all know what actually happened." Maybe a bit naive to believe there had to be something more than what was being told, Felicity almost hoped there was. A story was a story, and while she wasn't one for gossip, this particular thing had caught her ear; why was the girl in a leg brace when she came back to Hogwarts?

Arianna snorted, nearly dropping the cup of hot tea on her lap. She'd heard some wild theories about her that some of her friends had caught whispers of, but none sounded so preposterous as the ones Felicity was now suggesting. Where did people come up with these ridiculous stories? They didn't even make sense. And the one with the ostrich...well, Arianna would have been smart enough to hex the bird before it got close enough to shove her over the cliff.
"Yeah, those are as likely as the one about me fighting over Drew with a bunch of girls," Arianna rolled her eyes. The only reason they'd come up with that one was because she'd been in Cali with the Thorntons when the accident had happened. A few of the more questionable students had even tried to start up a rumor about the two that really shouldn't be heard by anyone. Arianna took care of those ones real quick.
"I really don't know too much," she admitted with a small shrug. She took a sip of her tea then set it back on the table. It was far too warm to drink just yet. "Everything's a little fuzzy, but....I can try."

No, the one she added didn't sound likely either. Of course, they were the more far fetched ones; had Arianna said she'd been fighting the girls off of Drew, that would've made much more sense, but not fighting them over him. The rumors that had seemed much more likely, were still unbelievable in many cases. Something about being conned into an eleven's plan had been one, it had been added that she was conned willingly into it. That bit had been told by someone who had done it in passing, and Felicity had managed to set her robes on fire as she briskly walked past her.
The blond didn't have right to set them straight as she didn't know what had happened, but she did have right to cause a bit of mayhem if someone said something that put the Eagle in any sort of bad light. No, she wasn't about to tell her that she'd done it, but it was fun to think about as she sat across from her.
"I'm willing to take anything you have to say," she assured her. The Gryffindor wasn't about to press her luck any further, so added: "On record or off. You tell me what you want, I'll mark it down and we can go over my notes afterwards if you'd like and I'll scratch off anything that you don't want in the paper, even if it's everything." That was her promise, not only to the girl but to everyone she interviewed. If they didn't want something in the paper, she wouldn't put it in there. "So whenever you're ready, go ahead. I'll reserve all questions for after you've finished."
It seemed to work that way well enough. With an interest piece, let the person tell their story, then ask questions.

"I guess I'll start at the beginning then," Arianna lifted her tea to check it and took another small sip before setting it down. "Anything goes...I suppose..." Of course, Arianna could just not say aloud those things she wished not to be placed in the paper.
The Ravenclaw shuffled a bit in her seat, trying to get comfortable. She wished she could cross her legs, but it never quite worked. It always left her even more uncomfortable and with plenty of funky marks no matter which way she did it.
"I was visiting the Thorntons, but I'm sure everyone knows that already," Arianna rolled her eyes slightly. Just that sentence reminded her of the stupid rumors. "Drew and I decided to go for a drive up the coast. We were supposed to go to up to our Grandmother's house for tea in the afternoon anyway, but we left several hours early so we could catch some waves and get our ice cream to celebrate. I think we might've got halfway there when this car comes smashing into my side of the Mustang."
The girl stopped for a moment as images of the accident passed through her mind, still as fresh as they had been in the days after. Arianna still, to this day, couldn't believe she was still alive.

Pulling her ink, quill, and papers toward her, she tried not to notice the fidgeting girl. Maybe she really was just nervous about the whole thing. Perhaps the blond shouldn't have contacted her about it, but it had just seemed to gain so much interest. Just the fact that people had started spreading rumors called to the fact that they all wanted to know the real story; at least in the Gryffindor's mind that's what it meant.
Immediately, she began jotting down notes in her curly script, only to stop just as quickly as she had started. Arianna had visited the Thornton's? Not everyone knew that, she surely hadn't known. Shaking it off, she picked back up where she had left off only to stop once more. Our Grandmother's house? Were she and the Ravenboy related? Felicity didn't think they were; so how did that work? Once more, she just let it pass, she'd ask about it later. Catching waves meant surfing, she had learned that from reading one of the books the blond had picked out of the library at one time or other. At least it had made sense, along with driving up a coast. Of course, thinking about this made her realize she'd have to explain what it did mean to the public when she published the story...that was going to be interesting to do.
And a mustang? She'd have to ask for the model afterwards too. However, that thought stopped there when it finally clicked what the girl had said. A car accident? Her brown eyes widened slightly as she looked up at the blue-eyed girl. Obviously both passengers were all right, other than a few mishaps, but a car accident? Gulping slightly, she wasn't sure what to say. Car accidents, cars in general were not usually something she liked to think about; thankfully at least both of the Ravenclaws had pulled through.
Trying not to let thoughts take her mind as she didn't want to think about her brother since she was in the middle of a professional meeting, she shook her head slowly to shake said thoughts. Taking a moment to let them filter out, she looked back to the girl and gave an encouraging nod to let her know she'd gotten it all written down and could continue if she so chose too.

Arianna took a moment to get her mind back in the present. She hadn't really thought about the accident since that day Corey had found her in the towers. Sometimes she had nightmares, but she only shoved them aside and went back to sleep, thinking of happier thoughts before drifting off again. She would do so now if she didn't have the interview going on, but then she would lose her train of thought. It took her longer than usual to calm herself down and when she did, she took a noticeably deep breath before letting it back out again.
"I...don't really know what happened next," the girl admitted, giving Felicity an apologetic smile though she knew it wasn't her place to give one. None of it was her fault, but she couldn't help feeling like the newspaper would want more than she could give. "I just remember laying there and reaching out to see if Drew was still there....I couldn't look and see where he was because it hurt too much to move. The police and paramedics came then and took care of Drew, but for some reason they just...didn't notice me. I could hear them talking right over me, but...they didn't do anything...."
Arianna paused again. She reached out and lifted her tea cup to her lips once again, even though she really wasn't thirsty. She was waiting for an interruption, questions, anything to give her more time before she ventured into that part of the memory she fought to forget.

Not speaking, she tried not to think about how uncomfortable she must have been making the Eagle. Maybe it hadn't been a good idea to bring the story out, but it had just seemed so interesting, and it really was. A car accident. With all of the rumors, people were going to think it was a bit of a disappointment, but really it wasn't. Something so easy, so normal, and yet it had affected her until that moment, and still was. It was strange, but there had to be good reason why. There must have been more.
Furrowing her eyebrows slightly, she wondered what Arianna meant. How did she not know what happened next, had she gone unconcious? Her explanation was painful, not being able to turn to see that someone she was with was there. Had David and Ruth gone through that as well? Fighting back the thoughts, she made herself focus. This accident was not even close to relating to that one. She had to seperate her thoughts. They did not coincide, that one happened years earlier, this one happened only months before.
"That's really weird," she interrupted, noticing the pause. It was a good time for one, it meant she'd be able to get rid of thoughts. "And you have no idea whatsoever why you weren't noticed?" Felicity knew enough about the emergency squads, they wouldn't leave someone behind, no matter the circumstances. Why had they gotten Drew, but not the girl in front of her? Well, it was obvious someone had gotten her, but if not the same crew...then who?
Something was wrong with the picture that was painted in the girl's mind. There were missing pieces, why and who.

Arianna shook her head. Though, it wasn't quite true that she didn't know. They were wizards who had taken her. Of course they'd used some sort of confundus charm or some other spell to confuse the stupid muggles. Arianna usually tried not to think such rude thoughts about muggles, she cared about them as she would any human, but that day....that day, she'd wished her body hadn't been broken so she could smack a few of them around, screaming 'HERE I AM! CAN'T YOU SEE ME?' Even now she kept wondering if one of them could have realized what was going on and fought against the charm.
"They....did something to the police," she replied, her voice sounding distant now. Arianna wasn't really looking at Felicity now, but staring off into nothing, just to the left of the Gryffindor's shoulder. "And the paramedics and...everyone else....Next thing I know, someone's pulling me from the car, but she wasn't very gentle...not the way you're supposed to. She didn't even care if she hurt me more than I already was. And she puts me in the ambulance and I don't know what she's saying to me, but none of it feels right and I know something bad is going to happen, but I can't do anything. The only thing the woman said that I even understood was 'we've got a friend waiting for you' and then......"
Arianna halted suddenly. Something like a rock hit the bottom of her stomach as she slowly remembered the face of that 'friend.' A friend who was now acting as though nothing unusual had happened over the summer. Someone she'd trusted with everything and would do anything for. Arianna felt betrayed and angry. She couldn't believe this could happen.
"I...I'm sorry, I shouldn't....I can't do this right now," Arianna muttered, pushing herself up from her chair. She was in such a hurry, she knocked her cup of tea over. "Such a klutz." She tried to hastily clear it up with her wand, keeping her head down to hide the tears threatening. So much for a clean getaway.

"They?" she asked, though she didn't think she'd been heard by the girl as she went off on a small explanation. It didn't make sense, who would have done something, who was she, and who was the friend? The Gryffindor hadn't written anymore down, she was more concerned about the girl across from her, especially when she stood to make a hasty escape. Shaking her head, she wasn't in the least disappointed, but she was concerned.
"Arianna?" she spoke cautiously. The paper, now splattered with tea, and quill were laying on the table, nothing having been written in the past few moments, as she stood to stop the ebony-haired girl from leaving. While she may not have been ready to give the story, that was different, but she shouldn't run away from talking about it. Felicity didn't really know the Ravengirl, but she didn't want her to go running out either. What did that say about so many things? They'd all be negative.
"There's no reason to apologize, I shouldn't have asked you to do this. I just thought, with so much interest about why you appeared at Hogwarts with a brace, it'd be something to put a stop to the rumors; that it might have been helpful." The brown-eyed girl wasn't really sure what to say. She wanted to apologize for requesting her to do the interview, but to also let the girl know she would be willing to listen if she needed someone to talk to, but she didn't know if the girl would be willing to take her up on her offer. It was obvious the girl wasn't really all right, but what could Felicity do about it? Not much, or at least she didn't think she could. Taking a deep breath, she let it out slowly.
"I know you don't know me very well, but if you want to talk, off the record, I'll listen." It was really all she could offer at the moment.

"Just....just say that the Deva....used someone I know to....to....ask questions," Arianna responded hastily, her mind flying as she tried to get something out for Felicity to use but not give away just who that person was. She had agreed to this; thought she was ready for this, but with the memory returning as suddenly as it had, Arianna had to question herself about it. She was clearly a mess and ready to cry over the whole ordeal yet again. "And that...that the reason....the reason I'm wearing the brace is because....because my knee was shattered in the accident and...and the Deva's so-called assistance and keeping me from getting help right away only made it worse."
Now that she'd gotten that much out, Arianna turned to leave again, but found herself to weary to even move. She instead plopped back into her chair, arms folded upon the table with her head buried on them. The girl gave herself a few moments to get a hold of herself, taking a few extra deep breaths, before sitting back up, eyes red with a few spare tears escaping.
"It was....one of my best friends," Arianna took another deep shaky breath. She could hardly look up at Felicity, thinking it easier to keep from totally breaking down. Let the girl question who the 'friend' was. Arianna wasn't going to say. It would cause upheaval in the school if she did. "Someone I would trust with my life....is working for the Deva."

"Deva?" she asked, trying to remember if she'd heard of something called Deva before. Nothing came to mind. Then something about using someone? Deva assistance? The Ravenclaw wasn't making much sense to the lion as she knitted her eyebrows, trying her best to keep up with her, but was failing miserably. It sounded like Deva was some sort of code, or name of people, who used people and stopped people from getting assistance. Perhaps it was some sort of American organization, maybe they were like those lawyers her dad had told her about that chased ambulances. It was possible, but it still didn't sound right.
One of the Eagle's friends was working with the lawyer chasers? It really made no sense at all to the blond. Felicity wasn't good in these situations, she didn't like not knowing what people were talking about, or what to do for teary-eyed people. She was glad Arianna hadn't left, but she really was confusing her. And after her talk with Drew, she wanted to try her best to not get frustrated with being confused with anyone, especially him or any of his friends.
Standing, she shifted herself around so she was sitting on the table edge in front of the girl, article long forgotten at this point. "All right, I'm afraid I'm not following very well," she began a bit timidly. "You and Drew went for a drive, then there was an accident." Yes, she understood that part perfectly clear. "The paramedics arrived and didn't pull you out of the car, but they did Drew. Then someone pulled you out, but not like they should." Perhaps for some strange reason the girl had been left behind and someone who had been driving through stopped to check out the accent, noticed her, then pulled her out. But that didn't make sense. The police would have still been there, and she said she'd been placed into an ambulance.
"Then someone told you they had a friend waiting for you; and it was someone you know." Merlin the girl was lost. To a point she understood, then she was just lost. Why would there be a lawyer organization called Deva who chased ambulances? And why would they help the girl out of the car, and then tell her her friend was waiting for her?
Maybe Deva wasn't a lawyer organization, but another type of organization. But what kind of organization, and how would they know of any of Arianna's friends? Especially since Felicity was pretty sure the girl didn't live in the U.S.A. After all, she said she had been visiting Drew, and she didn't have the same kind of accident he did, hers was different.
