It didn't take long for the rag tag group to reach Raynor's office, since there wasn't much stopping them. Of course, Shaw and his little friend had previously left, he knew that, so there never was a threat. Walking into the cluttered windowless office he sighed, another great unfortunate event. He plopped her down on one of the cushioned chairs in front of the desk covered with papers, as her owl hooted lightly. "She'll be fine," he said hoping to relieve the animals concern. He thought of his own owl, and remembered many a day where he had come in beaten and battered seeing the look of concern on his own pet.
This had been a very interesting night, to say the least. Why should he expect anything less from a night at Hogwarts. It had been lucky though, that he had decided to check out the school, what had led him to that he really wasn't sure. Well whatever it was that had contributed to it, it was for the best. If he hadn't been there to save Raynor it would have been left up to the kids, so that was for the best. (no offense).
"Well theres nothing left now, but to wait. Once she wakes up she can tell us what happened, then choose what to do with you lot. I suggest you all get comfortable, it could be a long wait." He smiled walking around the desk and sitting in her chair, he'd at least have some fun with this. "By the way my name is Devin Brady, and I'm an auror for the Ministry of Magic, thats what I was doing in the school."

Drew didn't like this man at all: how he talked down to them like they were idiots, how he threw Raynor over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes, how he plopped her unceremoniously into a chair, and now how he wanted to just sit by and do nothing.
"You could probably be checking the school, or at very least telling one of the other Aurors who are supposedly guarding the castle to do it," Drew answered calmly, first locking the door behind them and then grabbing another cushion and attempting to make the Professor a bit more comfortable. He also checked to make sure that she was still breathing and he could feel a pulse. It was weak, but still there. he used the sleeve of his sweatshirt to try and wipe some of the floor grime off of her face. He knew she would hate looking like such a mess, especially in front of students.
"We could probably try to figure out what she was injected with and see if there's an antidote, try to figure out why Shaw and his partner decided to come and leave this kind of calling card, or maybe see if we can come up with a better plan to keep the school safer in the future."
Nothing to do but wait? The guy was nuts. There was plenty they could be doing and sitting around waiting for her to wake, because Merlin only knew how long that would be, was a total waste of time.
But he man had finally answered Drew's question and the prefect figured the least he could do would be to reciprocate. "Drew Thornton. Sixth year. Ravenclaw." He left off his usual Nice to meet you not even able to manage it for the sake of politeness.

Art groaned but the entire time his wand had been in the general direction of this man, one wrong move and Art would hex him, Art needed him less than he needed Dave Almeida, and that right there meant less than none. He had walked in the office racking his brains for a story story to cover what he had said before, he was the only witness and that presented a problem, once this man heard he was a Slytherin though... that would pose a problem. He was almost not going to introduce himself but no, he would because if he didn't Drew would, besides the fat was in the fire now. "Artemis Tayern, Second Year, Slytherin." he told the auror. Art's wand was still in the general direction of the man, what good was it? well it wasn't very good at all, he was only a second year and this man was an Auror, it would be a pushover for Brady but hey Art wouldn't go down without at least an attempted fight.

It seemed something bad was happening everywhere one could turn their heads. Not only did Shaw get inside the castle but he left just as easily. Dispite the other boys attitudes Hiro found it incredibly lucky that he had come across them. Even though their trip was uneventful if something had happened it was comforting to know there was an auror nearby. Another reason was that if he had been a different auror they more than likely would have overreacted and the boys would either be stuned or have two unconciuce adults on their hands. Wanting to keep things pleasent but too in the moment to remember manners Hiro followed suit.
"Hiro McVeil, Ravenclaw sixth year as well."

We could probably try to figure out what she was injected with and see if there's an antidote, try to figure out why Shaw and his partner decided to come and leave this kind of calling card, or maybe see if we can come up with a better plan to keep the school safer in the future.
He listened getting comfortable as Drew speak, the boy had fire and he liked that, but little did he know that Devin in fact had an answer to all of his questions. "I will answer all of those for you. I'll start with what was injected. She was injected with the draught of the living dead, it was watered down. That means it was injected with the soul purpose of knocking her out at allowing them a short period of time to leave. How do I know they left, because there was no sign of a return and they would have of course run into you lot if they did. It has no cure, and if she were injected with the full amount she would be in a coma till the day she died as there is no antidote. However she was not, as I found out when I checked her. She should be waking up any minute now and to tell you the truth cleaning her up won't do much good, the potion must be released back out through the mouth. I figured out the potion by the key words the woman used, 'Sleep Tight,' in case you were wondering. Now the rest will have to be discussed when Raynor here wakes up, she will have to explain to why there are no rounds going on, then we can decide what needs to be done."
Shifting Devin stood up again, looking seriously at the group of students in front of him. "It is a pleasure to meet you all, but I have to apoligize. I realize I may not have been the nicest guy straight off the bat, but please don't hold it against me. I'm not really use to having to answer to students. And I won't deny it, me and Raynor aren't the best of friends, but my instincts take over when I see trouble, and seeing her on the ground I knew something had to be done. You weren't making it easy for me, and I know I wasn't making it easy on you, but I was worried about her. Listen, I'll let her tell you the story some other time, but even though I might not like the Deputy Headmistress, I trust her with my life, and I hope she feels the same way."
"Now let me explain something to you lot. Everything that happens in this school revolves around politics, thats why I haven't told anyone else what is going on. As soon as I was sure the Deputy here wasn't in any critical trouble, I knew I should keep my mouth shut. A lot that happens in this building is kept under wraps, that is why I will leave it to her, for when she awakes."

"And you can tell it's the Draught of the Living Dead by a puncture?" Drew asked, knowing at least three other potions that would have the same effect but not as long lasting. "Wow... You are good... And they left the castle, but that doesn't mean they're not on the grounds... or that there aren't more of them on upper levels and such. In fact, the mere fact that no one can apparate onto school grounds, lends reason to belive that they might actually still be on the grounds. And every first year knows the story of Sleeping Beauty and Snow White. They teach it in potions class when they mention the Draught of Living Dead. They just do that kissing stuff becasue it makes a better story, but there actually is an antidote. It's just hard to make, but nothing Hiro and I couldn't handle. If it is Draught of the Living Dead than the only thing holding us back is the fact that it needs to be brewed under a full moon. And the words 'Sleep Tight' could be a euphimism used in conjunction with a number of things from a simple conk on the head to full on death. While I would agree that there is a high probability of it being Draght of the Living Dead, your reasoning behind why it absolutely has to be is a bit faulty."
Drew continued with what he was doing, really not liking the man, especially now that he was talking down to them again. As if Drew wasn't aware that politicts ran everything? His father worked in the political circles for Merlin's sake. Thorne's murder and his own kidnapping was all political. The prefect really didn't need to have it 'explained' to him.
{sorry about the contradiction, but the fairy tales are actually a very common thread in RP Potions classes, not just on this site, but most others that I've been on. Had to use it.}

And though it is obvious that you were not paying attention, I did not learn all of this from a simple glance at the puncture, but by the diagnostic spells I performed. The spells provided me with enough information to figure the potion that was injected. That helped me narrow my search down till everything matched with the Draught of the Living Dead. Now understand, though there may be ways to cure the Draught, it can cause very large health risks to the patient, especially if they were not injected with a large amount. Not to mention that if she had been injected with a full dose, there would be no antidote because there is no single cure."
He sat back down looking at the boy. "Now I understand that you might be a great student, and I admire that, but I suggest you learn to listen and do what your told. I assure you she will wake up momentarially, and if you don't stop questioning me on my every meathod, then you will not be concious for the grand event. And don't take that threat lightely, because I am not Raynor, and I will not tolerate your badgering."
He leaned back into the chair and placed his feet up on the desk.
((If it were any other case, I would just you know pretend that Devin made a mistake. But he doesn't make mistakes when they count, so I had to make my way around it, sorry.))

Art stood when he mentioned that Drew wouldn't be conscious for the 'momentous event' of Raynor's awakening. He didn't take threats from a superior power lightly, and an auror was quite the superior power, so superior in fact Art respected them to a fine pint. Nonetheless Brady would have to take on both him a Drew because though he was a second year and couldn't duel well he would stand by the older boy he deemed 'friend' even if Thornton didn't mimic Artemis's intentions. " Master Brady, If you take Drew out second year or not, I'm not going to take it laying down." He didn't just say this there was a bit of fire, almost like a threat, but it wasn't. It was Art's testament to what he would do should something be tried in this office. He hoped he was right in the assumption Hiro would help him with attacking Brady if and or when Brady did do it.

Drew really didn't care what the man spouted off, especially when it was clear he didn't know what he was talking about? Had he really implied that Raynor would take Drew's lip? No, she wouldn't have, but she wouldn't have brushed him off like an idiot school boy either.
He did take Artie's comeback seriously though. The guy had gumption, but Drew wasn't about to let the Slytherin be hurt in the name of defending him. "Back off Art," Drew told him. "Be cool."
He turned back to Raynor, wondering first, if Brady was right and second if he was, how diluted the posion had been. Drew happened to be deathly allergic to one of the key ingredients and wasn't sure if Raynor did get rid of it "back out through the mouth" how that would affect him.
And yeah, despite Brady's insistence that there was nothing to be done (the man was infuriating, sitting there with his feet up as if he was watching the Super Bowl at home), Drew knew of one thing that sure couldn't hurt. He summoned the Deputy's waste basket and placed it near by. He didn't expect her to hit it, but that didn't mean it wouldn't be handy.

Hiro put his hand on the young boy's shoulder. Drew knew that Hiro always had his back but the Slytherin might not have known how well Drew and Hiro were as a pair. They were so connected that Hiro even knew why Drew told Artemis to back down, though it wasn't the same reason as him at least neither of them were encouraging him to fight.
"Easy everyone, let's all just take a step back." Hiro said calmly. "What would professor Raynor think if she woke up to everyone fighting?"
Hiro had never been a fighter, he was a planner. Though he could hold his own in a duel he really only had one side of fighting down, the defense part. From the small pouch of instant darkness powder he kept under the knot of his blindfold (to level the playing field) since operation CHAOS to the attempts of placing defensive charms on his prefect badge (which unknown to him at the time has an anti-charm field) Hiro was always trying to find a way to avoid a fight or use trickery instead of offensive spells.

((Apologies on length. Fingers got going and couldn't stop them >.< ))
About half an hour later, as if cued by Hiro's words...
Voices. Why were there voices?
The question floated aimlessly across the void of consciousness as she slowly came back to it. Everything felt groggy, as if the world was tangible, but kept slipping through her fingers. Up, yes, she needed to go up. That sounded like the right thing to do. So she pushed against the barrier she had been shoving against for hours… days… it was difficult to tell. To her surprise, it gave this time. Slowly and carefully, she ventured upward…
… And moaned as she became aware of her body. Her neck pulsed as if someone had used her jugular for a punching bag. Her ribcage throbbed as if a muggle linebacker had tackled her torso. There was a foul aftertaste festering in her mouth and her lims felt like they were infused with lead.
Nevertheless, she forced her eyes open and waited for her office to focus. Her office? Memory rushed back in scattered fragments that failed to match up enough to put the puzzle back together; entrance hall, Shaw, being grabbed from behind, and then nothing. Shaw, where was he? He had bee here, was he still?. Why was she not dead and by every right she should have been. The coward had done something, but where was he? He could be sitting bedside, well, chair-side, manner for all she knew.
Cursing inventively, Tamis bolted up and sank back down as the room lurched dangerously. When her head cleared enough to chance peeling her eyelids back again, she took in her environment; slower. Her office; its familiarity was comforting. Locked door, old auror habits had her automatically checking the exits. Sneakoscopes, foe glass, Andrew Thornton, books on the Dark Arts and their Defense, Aramis on his perch, and then things got unusual; Artemis Tayern, Hiro McVeil, and Devin Brady – sitting behind her desk with his boots contaminating it.
The last one she stared at for a long time as if making sure her eyes weren’t deceiving her. A slow blink seemed to determine that they were not, for it preceded a groan.
“Dear Merlin, I’m in hell.” No other explanation if that auror was here, making himself at home behind her desk. That would have to change.
Opening her mouth to form corporeal words, as it turned out, was a mistake. Her stomach convulsed, an uneasy sensation consumed her lungs, and she managed to get her head over the armchair before promptly losing the contents of her stomach. There was a bucket already set up, she hoped she had judged distance correctly.
The pain in her jugular and the symptoms she was currently experiencing added against the small, yet sufficient, knowledge she had gained through her time as a healer, and then with potions as an auror, she had an inkling of an idea of what was causing this reaction.
“Potion,” she shuddered when she was able, “lethal potion, but not enough to kill -- ” she was cut off by a gag. “Bucket?” she asked meekly, not meeting any eyes, but reached down to get it herself. There was not much she could do magically at the current, but she had enough for one good show; just enough. And that was only because all the objects in the room were hers. Silently, she vanished both her desk and its chair simultaneously. At least she would have that much revenge – given the current situation.
Not for the first time since waking, she wished for a much emptier room. There were two main ways for something invasive to leave the body, neither one was pleasant, and both were rather embarrassing. This was the least embarrassing method, but it did effectively destroy her image with the three students present.

Devin sat back and watched as the children began to threaten him. He tried to be fair didn't he. They wouldn't listen that wasn't his fault, so he wouldn't blame himself. He had gone so far as to apoligize for his attitude. Ignoring his will to try and end the conflict, he looked towards the wall. It was then that he heard the noise of Raynor's waking. She was up and not pleased. However it wasn't until the support underneath him vanished. His back slammed onto the floor as he let out a grunt of pain.
Rising back to his feet he gave her a death glare. "So much for appreciation. I'm just glad to see some of us never grow up." he made his way for the door, as he felt the pressure building up in his head. He had went out of his way to help this woman, to keep this from the Ministry, and thats how he had been repaid. He almost wished that it had been something more painful, or at least that it hadn't been these kids who had found her, but the whole school. That would show her.

Drew had been hovering most of the time she had been out, taking only a few moments to pace the room and relieve (or maybe add to?) some of the anxiety he felt. As soon as Raynor started stiring, showing signs that she was coming out of it, the prefect stepped back, highly doubting that the first thing she would want to see would be his face.
She was groggy and obviously out of it, but still sharp enough to make her thoughts known about the man in the room. Drew didn't say anything, but smirked at the disappearance of the furniture. Still managed after all that... one point Raynor...

The waste basket as it turned out, became her new best friend. She was able to dilute her attention from it enough to hear a satisfying “thud” as Brady landed on the graciously carpeted floor. An angry intake of breath and he stalked off in her peripheral vision. That was dandy; simply peachy. The man had the gall to put his muddy boots on important papers and official documents and she was the childish one here. He also seemed as prone to melodramatic reactions as he had been in school. If anything, the man was too hung up on those events. You would think he had been the one ratted on and therefore spent a good part of his school years with McGonagall breathing down his neck… and the woman hadn’t even been her Head of House.
As soon as the furnishings vanish, she regretted doing it. The room was either spinning or she was. She wasn’t sure which would have been better, and so shoved the dilemma surrounding the observation out of her head. However, watching the colors of the office swirl around her was not helping the condition of her stomach. Not helping at all.
“I'm appreciation glad to some of us never grow up." The words floated choppily at the edge of her brain. What? Had that even been what had been said to her? Well, that just didn’t make any sense at all… did it? She frowned, having successfully confused herself. Shaw. Yes. Shaw. Now that did not make sense. Here she was arguing with an auror when Fiona, at least, needed to be informed. Right? A queasy feeling pulled her stomach down to her feet. Oh dear, that wasn’t good. Now she knew why she didn’t drink alcohol. Naturally, the one time she did, Shaw shoved a potion into her system directly after. Bad combination. Not to mention a sadistic form of karma.
Wait, wait, was Brady trying to leave? That wasn’t good. She forced her brain back to his comment …. He had said it, right? Oh, who cares?
“And apparently some of us never got over that prick complex,” she retorted when her tongue decided to work again and she was able to keep her head out of the bucket. Though it still came out in a slur, even to her ears. “Attend and report, Auror.” She was quite proud of herself, managing to state that phrase coherently. It was a common one, used formally to inquire an auror on information he had gathered. Also, it served as a reminder that there were things above their personal feud at hand here. Oh yes, very proud of herself.
Another frown as she focused her double vision on two Hiro McVeils and Artemis Tayerns … and, three smirking Drews. That better have been her diluted vision. Otherwise she had woken up to a sick and twisted alternate reality. It was a lucky thing indeed that her wits had not fully come back yet, or she would have had many questions to ask about those three being out of bed.
She looked down at her feet and the bunny slippers winked back up a her. Oh Dear Merlin, she was not still wearing those…

Art heard Drew tell him to back off along with Hiro so he relaxed more but stood just the same, Art jumped slightly when the professor had stirred, he wanted to do everything he could for her, she was a good person and a very good teacher. He had turned on his heels when she had stirred but no more than ninety degrees he dared not let Brady have his back, he would never expose his back except to known friends, and to corpses. "Are you ok Professor?" Artemis Asked Raynor his eyes on her though he saw Brady in his periphrial vision. A moment later after a wise crack or two Brady fell from his perch to the carpet the desk also vanishing, this movement caused Art to react quickly he brought his wand up while spinning to Brady his wand at the ready, he didn't know exactly what was happening but if Professor Raynor was such an important person to be attacked Art would do what he could for her. Brady stood to leave and Art kept him in full vivion at all times, he didn't like Brady, not to mention he was in a tight spot, he was up after hours and was the sole witness to what had happened to Professor Raynor but luckily that story hadn't leaked from his mouth except for one detail. the thing was though the sound of Raynor's vomiting didn't upset him the Stench soon reached his nose which protested very quickly, causign his stomach to do flips which made a soft groan come from his person.
