"Well I'm willing to go beyond the call of duty, but this I can't say I'm too sure about this." He paused, his monotoned speech growing silent. The gaze growing more distant, as the pain grew more prominent. He remembered the day clearly. A bright and sunny day, an occurance which at the time was so rare you had a better chance of finding a bag of galleons on an empty street. It had been a great day, the war seemed like it was coming to a close, and he was still living on the words his fiance had told him only the day before, she was pregnant!
He couldn't wait to see her, to hold her them. Even though it was only a few weeks in, he couldn't be more excited. But then it struck him. He returned to the headquarters, Number 12 Grimmuld Place, which his fiance had been staying at with Molly Weasley. Except when he walked in he felt the somber mood hit him. Something was wrong and he knew it. A tear stricken Mrs. Weasley had greeted him at the door of the kitchen. She told him the news that would stick with him for the rest of his life. A family had been attacked by Death Eaters and the Order had gone to help out, only very few people were around. She had gone with them, and had been too slow... too slow to avoid the killing curse that struck her in the chest killing her and his unborn child.
"No," he said in nothing but a whisper, "I think I shouldn't... I think its about time I retire." The worlds left his mouth as he sat in a trance, not even realizing what he had said.

It seemed like Raynor and Brady were having a two way conversation so Drew decided to start one of his own. "You in?" he murmured low so that only Hiro standing next to him could hear. It sounded like Brady was out and Drew couldn't help but feel glad for that. They didn't need him anyway.
The needed people like Hiro though, who was a master planner and with is sharp ears was best defensive dueler he knew. Drew was confident about his own place in what Raynor had been planning, but the Ravenclaw knew that they would only be stronger with Hiro on their side.

Drew made it sound so easy, two words. Now Hiro knew he didn't need to tell Drew this wasn't a game, Drew knew that better than Hiro did. But to jump in too hastily could cause some serious damage; this wasn't like a school club that you could just stop attending if you didn't like it. This was, like they had said, a war and there was considerable loses that could come from that. It could even get to the point where death might be welcomed. Hiro was no fighter, he had tricks up his sleeves but when it came down to it he wasn't sure how long he could hold someone off. And to join a group whose purpose was to fight the Deva it might not be a very wise choice.
On the other hand what choice did he have he had already heard too much to just be let off so easily. If he said no professor Raynor and Drew would be on him all the time, not to mention the auror's watchful eyes following him everywhere. Curse Raynor for putting him into this situation, he should have left with Artemis. Ignorance is bliss as they say.
But then another thought came to him. He was already in on it long before this night, if he should curse anyone it should be Shaw. Shaw was the one who pulled him in, back when Drew was kidnapped. The Deva had struck him a number of blows, Drew's abduction, Charlie's freedom, professor Raynor's nerves all were tied to that despicable organization.
"Yeah." He muttered back. It was true he didn't have a choice he knew what had to be done to protect the one's he cared most about.

As long as she didn't concentrate on any one particular object, the room stood still. But her stomach was still doing enough flips to wish she hadn't turned down those flasks. What she saw, however, calmed her rising anxiety a pinch. The distinct shadow in the murky surface of her foe glass was beginning to dissolve once more, so Shaw was at least off the school grounds. The sneakoscopes were silent, which meant that there was no foul play within a fifteen foot radius of the office. While Dark Detectors could be flawed, Raynor held a good deal of faith in hers. None of them had been cheap. She better trust their ability to work and they better live up to her trust.
Hiro seemed uneasy, but a whispered conversation was in place between the two Ravenclaws. It had been a dirty trick to pull on the Ravenclaw boy, she knew, but there really had not been a choice. Those two sixth years had been tied at the hip since their first year. Raynor would know; the resulting headache from such a union kicked like two teams of draft horses. But as close as the two were... questions would eventually arise. This just cut them off at the knees.
Leaving Hiro to Drew, Tamis frowned as she considered Brady. The man looked as if someone had stunned him square in the heart; not a pleasant experience as the Deputy knew. But for someone whom had supportively been a part of a secret organization long before this, she doubted her words would have effected him that --
"No. I think I shouldn't... I think its about time I retire."
Not delivered with Brady's usual vigor at all. And while concentrating on the man gave her double vision of his face, what she could make out of it was troubled. She needed another adult. If there was any way to convince him...
"Mr. Thornton," she said, drawing her gaze back to the duo. "Can you explain a few things to Mr. McVeil on the way back up to your dormitories? Your classmates will be rising in a few hours. I want both of you back in bed before they notice you were gone."
And that would give her time to talk to the auror alone before the Slytherin lad reappeared.
(( horribly put together, apologies ))

Drew nodded in response, not sure why Raynor insisted on convincing the man, but respecting her judgement enough not to fight it. On the other hand, he really didn't want to miss anything.
"We can walk Art back to his dorm when he comes..." Drew offered, figuring the kid would be back soon enough. He also figured he'd better offer his opinion on the little kid. "I don't trust him with this. He's in too deep with... other things." Drew didn't want to mention Reina by name, not having any proof that she was involved with the Deva, but the way the girl opperated, if anyone could be, Devil Queen was a prime candidate.

By the sounds of it Drew wasn't the one being recruited. The way she spoke Drew had known about this and was already a member. Of course why shouldn't he be? He had more right than most to be a member in a group that fight against the Deva. The way Drew mentioned 'other things' had a rather nasty thought to it, he was far too young to be a Deva, what would they want with a kid? This expanded on to who could have wanted him. Hiro hadn't thought of Deva being inside the castle, even after Shaw had revealed himself as one. He wasn't in the castle...most of the time.

The blonde snake sprinted up the stairs, he knew how this stuff worked, it kinda sucked really. He knew while he was gone they would be talking 'adult stuff' so he tried to give them as little time as possible. Naturally once he reached the seventh floor he found the elf, he was sure an odd one, but at least he knew about them from all the time he spent in the kitchens. After delivering the message in rapid speech punctuated by breaths the elf bowed low in the usual fashion muttering 'At once young master' but Artemis was already tearing down the stairs, he knew things were happening and he wanted IN. He passed up the stairs for railings and before he knew it he was finally in the second floor hall. Slowing down to catch his breath he forced himself to breath slowly and deeply before his hand rapped on the door once more.
