It was in the hall; whispers of Halloween and all the fun everyone was planning on having. It was in a week, all hallows eve, and Celina wasn't going to be apart of it this year. Last year, she had gone to the Halloween dance with Oliver West, dressing up as a baby unicorn, but this year Celina had too much work to do. She couldn't spare a single second, not with all of the Ancient Runes, History of Magic, and other homework she had to do. She really had bogged herself down it seemed with more courses than her friends, but maybe it was just she cared more about getting top in her class. Not to mention... top in her class meant that she was sure to get some sort of recognization... something finally her father would be proud of.
Sitting at a table in the library, she had taken it over. Papers and books from every single course she was taken was spread in neat and orderly piles, in what seemed to be very designated areas. Everything was organized, and most piles seemed to stack even over the visibility of the Raven girl's head. There was just so much to do, not to mention she was doing work ahead of time as well. There was a essay due in four weeks which she was going to start after doing the next weeks homework. Everything would be done in a neat and orderly fashion, and in the library where it was quiet and not where everyone was talking about having fun or doing halloween stuff.
Please... had no one any academic principle?
Of course, Celina wasn't only doing work, but she was also keeping to herself. It seemed when she didn't, it only backfired. Which was fine in her opinion, just meant that she wasn't working hard enough on something. Right? Celina shook her head as she crossed out some words on the parchment she was working on. Stupid mistakes... all of them.
Sighing, Celina rested the side of her face in her hand, tapping her quill ever so lightly. What did these instructions mean only thirty six inches?! There was no way Celina would get all of what she wanted to say in such a short essay. Frustrated like, she ran her fingers through her hair... these professors were trying to sabotage the students. That's what it was.

It was a strange feeling, not having anything to do. He had double, even triple checked all of his homework. He had checked in with other member of the Quidditch team to see if practice really was later in the evening. He had even gone through the trouble of writing to his parents about how things had been lately.
Connor had the feeling that he was forgetting something, something important. Homework? Once again he checked it, only to discover that everything was fine and ready to be turned in. He didn’t understand, even as he wandered around the Slytherin common in search of someone to hang out with. No one in the common room, no one in the great hall, everyone was either missing in action or studying for something or other.
Working his way up the stairs to the second floor, Connor readjusted the shoulder strap of his black back pack. It contained mostly random items, a couple of notebooks of things he had written down in lessons, some random pencils and a couple of books that he had checked out from the library a while back. He pushed the library door open and slid the books into the drop off with a small smile to the librarian helper who was currently on duty. Despite the rules about being quiet in the library, Connor started whistling a slow tune he had learned from his mother when he was a child.
It was a short, sweet tune, and as he recalled, the lyrics were something about dancing and having fun at a party. Now that he remembered correctly, it had been a weird song. His whistling subsided to the soft sounds of him humming the song instead as he perused the bookshelves in search of something to read. Stopping in front of a shelf of biographies, he spotted one about Merlin and picked it up. Finding the back relatively interesting, Connor flipped it open to a random page and began reading.
He briefly looked up and spotted a comfy looking chair on the other side of the library. His eyes scanned the page for the spot he had just been reading and he began to make his way over. Connor had always heard it wasn’t intelligent to read and walk at the same time, and he supposed that he didn’t believe it until he ran right into a table that someone was sitting at. “ Ah, sorry. “ He said, looking up to the person and preparing himself to launch more apologies at them. His face brightened when he discovered it was Celina. “ Hey, what’s up? “ He asked, pointing to all of the books. A quick scan told him that they were all organized by subject. He was impressed.

Celina thought to herself as she tried to figure out the wording to make her essay shorter, but just as efficient. A yard’s worth of work, and yet it wasn’t enough space. There were always comments on her papers that said something to the extent of 'much to wordy' or 'need to explain more concise and clearly' but Celina had a lot to say. And so, she did so as best as she could. At the moment she was concentrating on writing as small as she possibly could with it still being legible. She sighed frustrated like but continued doing the work, periodically she'd look up and read from the book she was taking notes from.
As the table moved, jarred by some obnoxious person not watching where they were going, Celina's eyes glared before they even looked up. Along her essay was a giant line of ink, and Celina was about to say something very irate. Couldn't they see that someone was actually working there? Finally, her eyes did travel upwards, and instantly she felt bad for glaring or thinking such things. Her face became a slight shade of pink and her body slunk slightly behind her work. "No... it's fine," Celina whispered, barely audible hoping that Connor hadn't caught her slight death glare.
"Oh, you know," Celina said as he pointed at her books and such and she shrugged. "Just getting some work done. I'm having trouble with this essay.... I don't believe the teachers really give us enough room. Thirty six inches..." She shook her head and shrugged. Connor didn't want to hear about her homework troubles, she was sure. "What are you reading?" Celina asked, pointing at the book with her quill that still was in her hand.

Fortunately, Connor had been looking around at Celina's table set up while she sent dagger glares at him. (XD)
His eyes met hers and he grinned slightly, hoping he hadn't disturbed her too much. He hoped Celina wasn't the type of worker who hated to be interupted while working, but then again she probably was. He almost let a sigh escape him but held back for fear of being considered rude. That wouldn't do at all. Connor pulled up a chair and sat down next to Celina, still surveying the table as he did so. He hadn't been invited over, but he hoped she wouldn't mind the company all the same. He gave a small nod of his head when she confirmed that she was getting some work done. He couldn't imagine anyone doing anything else that would involve so much paper, ink, and books in general.
" Thirty six inches? I supposed that depends on the topic. Because if I had to write about trolls for thirty six inches of parchment, I'd think it was way too much. " He said with a smile over to the girl. Connor had just set his book down in a small space on the table when Celina asked about it. " Ah, a biography of Merlin. To be honest it's a bit dull at this point. " He confided with a laugh. Merlin was great, certainly, but reading about the classes he had taken at Hogwarts wasn't all that interesting.
" What've you been up to, Lena? " He asked curiously, deciding to use a shortened version of the girl's name. It was pretty, and Connor liked the sound of it.

(**The writer sighs in relief** ) Celina placed down her quill reluctantly as she could already see the words that she had so nicely in her head start to fade from the distraction. It would take her forever now to completely the essay, but in some small way, she didn't mind as much as she probably would have if it were someone else. Why she didn't mind kind of irritated her, for she knew that feeling... it was the same feeling she had when she started making friends. It was why she had gotten so far off track with her school work to begin with. And now another could stir that in her? How? Celina thought she would have gotten over that... She smiled up at him, and when he took a seat right next to her, she blushed slightly. She was embarrassed about her feelings, concerned he'd pick on her for doing so much work that wasn't even due yet... she just wanted to be sure she had it this time. Failure wasn't an option any more. It couldn't be... "Oh, really?" Celina asked softly when Connor said that he couldn't write thirty six inches on trolls. Without thought, she shrugged and continued to speak barely audibly. "Trolls are fascinating," she said nodding and looking back toward the parchment. "I wish I had to write about them.... they're not to bright, but their bronze and their animal instinct makes them excellent competitors in combat without magic." Shaking her head and then tilting it slightly, her eyes traveled back to Connor and her face lit up slightly. "I hear... that in India, they actually make trolls fight for gallons. The bet on it or something..." she giggled, shrugging. "But, it's just a rumor..." she paused. "So, I'm not sure if it's true or not." She listened contently to what he was reading at that time and nodded her head. Merlin was ok, in Celina's opinion. She would have rather read about Morgan le Fay, but that also could have been the Raven's slightly feminist side of her that she'd never admit to having. "That's awesome," Celina said, turning back to her papers and shuffling them slightly. And then she stopped. Suddenly, and without even meaning to, Celina stopped everything she was doing, froze, and shut her eyes tightly as if trying to chase something away that had scared her stiff. What... what had Connor just called her? Roger Bauber came into her line of sight within her mind just then, his taunts and his shortened names for both Alfonz and she... it was horrible, and she loathed that name. But how to tell Connor without hurting his feelings, Celina didn't know. Opening her eyes, she began to breath again after holding it for a good minute. Slowly, she put down all of what she was doing and looked back toward Connor, her smile only half on her face. "Not much..." she started, folding her hands and placing them in her lap as she turned her body slightly toward Connor. "Connor, I was wondering... it's just that... well, what you just said... I... I'm not really..." she shrugged. She smiled, finding no words would come to help her. Sighing, she shrugged, tried to smile brightly, and rolled her eyes lightly laughing. "Nevermind, it's nothing." She shook her head, figuring that it probably just had been a slip. Connor probably really didn't mean to say it at all... it was just her imagination. "Nothing much more than just doing homework and such... what about you? What have you been up to, my Slytherin friend?" she jested as she questioned him, hoping dearly that the name thing was just, in fact, a slip up.

Connor took a few moments to just look Celina over. Due to the closeness of how they were sitting he was able to guess that she was rather tired. If anything else she looked overworked and stressed. Over what? Lessons, he supposed that made sense. Connor was usually one to stress over lessons and homework, but he began to wonder if Celina was taking things too seriously. He didn't want to say anything, though, for the Ravenclaw girl had an unknowing way of making him more hesitant of what he should say, and more skeptical about what he thought he could say.
The girl's speach was once again rather soft, causing Connor to tilt his head slightly just to be able to hear what she was saying. It appeared she had either taken his comment seriously or was jesting with him, he hoped for the second. The Slytherin let a soft smile form brightly on his face as Celina told him about betting on troll fights. " Sounds like an interestin' sport to me, rumor or not. " He joked with a light laugh. Really, Connor didn't supposed making trolls fight was humane at all, but trolls probably got into fights on their own. As Celina said, they were really not all that bright at all.
He nodded his head along with Celina's mention of ' that's awesome. ' Connor shrugged his shoulders half heartedly. He peered curiously at her, wondering if she had gotten sick or something. She looked like she was holding her breathe and Connor was relieved to see her breath in once again.
' Connor, I was wondering... ' He turned to face the girl as she had done to face him, waiting for her to go on. ' well, what you just said ' Connor went back a few minutes to remember what he had said. All that could come to mind was asking her what she was up to, among other things. He couldn't recall saying anything even mildly offensive and once again thought of the cautiousness that Celina brought out in him.
His face flashed brief expressions of confusion and slowly turned to realization as he thought of something that might cause Celina to react like that. His face flaired a light red color as he remembered back to the second actual day he had hung out with Celina at the festival. The event, and the unexpected guest, had slipped his mind as he called the Ravenclaw girl the shortened version of her name, the very same name that that man had called her. She shook her head, and Connor did the same, quickly launching into speech. " I didn't realize. Sorry. " He didn't say much about it, but hoped she would understand that he wouldn't call her that name again.
Connor tried desperately to remember that character's name, the one friend of her brother's who they had run into at the music festival. His thoughts, however, were whisked away back to Celina as she smiled at him.
He felt himself ease into the conversation, answering her with a smile. " Ah, nothing of real interest. Homework, quidditch. I actually caught someone sneaking out of the castle the other night. It was actually kind of funny. "

Gently placing some of her hair behind her ear, she continued to smile at her friend, though her eyes seemed to be getting heavy doing so. She was wasting time, and when she wasn’t working her body thought that it meant that that was time to eat or sleep. In this case, sleep was evidently what her body needed, but she tried to keep herself steady as Connor spoke about the trolls and how it’d be an interesting sport. She giggled, and shrugged, not knowing if she would be to into watching a couple of brutes fighting but figured that it may be interesting if anything at all. “Yea, maybe. I though about doing a report about it for History of Magic or something for extra credit. Griffiths seems to like crazy stuff like that.” Celina nodded, taking her quill and writing that down so that she wouldn’t forget; gently, and without thinking she bit her lip as she wrote.
When Connor understood what she meant, she was kind of relieved but at the same time she felt guilty for it seemed that Connor really had meant to say the name. “I’m sorry… it’s just… you see that man, he’s an awful brute,” she tried to explain, and yet looked back to the piles of paper she had strewed all over the place. “He used to be nice… but, then just wasn’t one day. I don’t know. Alfonz said he was jealous or something.” Celina remembered the day all too clearly that Alfonz told her most things, but it had all been so long ago. Anymore they avoided Roger Bauber. It just was easier that way.
Looking back to Connor, she still flashed him an encouraging smile and when they moved on to another topic, she was glad that he took and continued on. “Did you?” Celina asked when Connor said that he had caught someone sneaking out of the castle. “Why were they doing that?” she asked curiously, slightly giggling. “And what did you do?” Leaning on the table, she rested her chin in her hand as she looked at Connor intently. After everything that had happened that term so far, she couldn’t get over how glad she was that they still spoke and such. Celina wouldn’t know what to do if she had ever made it so they’d never do so… course then again, she always did have her harp…

Connor's shoulders lifted lightly into a small shrug as she mentioned something about extra credit. The thoughts of saying something ran through his mind and he wondered if he should. Celina seemed to be working herself down rather harshly these days. Once she was done writing, his hand reached instinctively for hers and he gave it a light squeeze. A smile returned to his face as he said, " You should take a break, you look tired. " He let his hand linger on hers for several seconds. Connor didn't want to worry the girl, but he did think she could use a good break. Or a nap.
Connor didn't feel as if he had anything to add in about what Professor Gritffiths did and did not like. He was still getting used to being on the man's good side and was trying not to be anything other than that. But as Celina said, the man probably would enjoy something like that.
The Slytherin listened careful to what Celina was saying about.. whoever the man had been. Bauber, that was it. His first name escaped Connor's memory, but he remembered the man's last name as Celina spoke of him. She wasn't too fond of him, Connor could easily tell, and although the reasons weren't exactly obvious until she explained them, he did his best to understand. " Yeh, s'all right. Don't worry about it. " He said, withdrawing his hand from hers now. " Doesn't exactly sound like good company. " His tone was sympathetic as he spoke.
As the discussion moved to a lighter and more huimorous topic, Connor grinned slightly at the memory. " Apparently, a fifth year Ravenclaw girl just decided to get out of the Common room, and castle, mind you, after curfew. " His face was animated as he continued telling Celina the story. " So I walked with her back to the castle, lectured her a bit about curfew and all as we went. But by then I was hungry, so we went off to the kitchens. Got to talking and all. " He said, his smile still plastered nicely on his face as he looked back to Celina.

The quill had hardly hit the table as she put it down before Connor’s hand was on top of her own and squeezing it gently. She looked up at him with wonder of what it was about and saw on his face something that she couldn’t quite place. Concern? Perhaps, and with the statements he said next it only went to further prove her assumptions. “I know. I will…” she nodded as enthusiastically as she could, but at the same time she knew that she wasn’t telling the full truth. He probably meant that she should take a break then, but what she meant was that after everything was done there would be plenty of time to rest. But his face told her that he was worried enough, and Celina didn’t want Connor to worry over her. “Promise.” She said as she lightly giggled.
Taking his hand back, Celina smiled at Connor slightly as he seemed to again understand everything she was saying. “No, he’s one of those people that take stuff from others, or make up awful things about then to try and tarnish their reputations…” Celina trailed off as she thought about all Roger had said about the Jedynak siblings. They were awful things that weren’t ever true to hurt Alfonz. Stupid stuff, all of it was.
“That’s crazy. But it’s good that you caught her, Connor,” Celina said encouragingly. “After all, she could have gotten hurt or someone mean could have found her.” Of course, the fact that he didn’t send the girl back straight away to the dorms irked Celina a bit, for that was apart of his job, was it not? But she didn’t say anything more about it, knowing that it wasn’t her place. She hadn’t gotten Prefect, and therefore, had no right to say anything about it. Not to mention, his smile, Celina found, made it seem not as bad as it really was. He was happy, proud of himself, and Celina should have been too, or so she thought.
Yawning slightly, Celina covered her mouth with one of her hands and shook her head. “Oh, pardon…” she said, not explaining the yawn. She wasn’t tired. Celina wouldn’t allow herself to be as such. “So, what are your plans for the rest of the day?” she asked Connor after her yawn.

He belived her of course, her words sliding over him easily. He smiled, glad he had decided to say something. Connor found himself wishing that he didn't have to over think everything, it was bothersome as well as tiring. ' Promise. '
" Good, then. And that man sounds like an arse, but you don't have to worry about him showing up here. " He wasn't all for the use of profanity, but really the man sounded like a creep. Plus, from what Connor had seen of him, he was. But as he had said, it was highly doubtable that Bauber would be able to just show up at Hogwarts. Connor was willing to bet on it that the older Jedynak sibling would object to it as much as the younger one, if all Celina was saying was true, which he assumed it was.
Connor tapped his fingers lightly on the table as he mentioned to Celina something about the other night. " Actually she did hurt herself. Tripped over some roots and hurt her wrist. Another reason to go to the kitchens, for some ice. It wasn't too bad, so it didn't make sense to go down to the infirmary just for a little bust up. " In the end, though, the girl's wrist had turned out all right. Connor remembered some of their discussions and smiled lightly. " Talked about you a little. " He mentioned this in a very nonchalance and casual way. His comment was meant to be taken lightly, and as he said teasingly, he hoped Celina would take it that way.
Seeing Celina yawn made Connor feel like he had to yawn, but he stifled the urge with a small smile when she asked what his plans were for the rest of the day. " Hanging out with you? " He suggested to her. If she didn't want to, that was alright, but Connor was rather bored, and a real live companion was better than Merlin in his opinion.

Celina nodded as Connor said what Roger Bauber sounded like to him in agreement. He was an arse, there was no other word around it in Celina's mind. The man was a nuisance and a hazard to other's health, not to mention his own. Celina never saw him sober, and since he had gone to Durmstrang with her brother, Celina never saw him employed or on top of anything. Celina could only begin to wonder what had happened to Anastasia, but shook the thoughts away. "Yes, he's not a nice person at all." But Celina smiled as Conner said that she had not anything to worry about him showing up at Hogwarts. That she believed with all of her heart. Alfonz would never have allowed such things, and if it ever did happen, Celina was sure that she could take comfort in her friends to help her avoid the man. That was for sure. "I'm not worried," Celina said reassuringly. "Plus, if he ever did, I have Alfonz and you... along with Drew and Felicity. So..." she shrugged and giggled lightly.
Ah, that makes more sense... Celina said to herself, glad she hadn't said anything to Connor about taking the girls down to the kitchen with her. She was silly to think that Connor wouldn't be doing his job properly, for he had never proven otherwise... well, Celina didn't like to remember bad things any ways. But hearing that the girl had hurt her wrist was more reasonable and Celina nodded her head, looking interested within the conversation the entire time. "Oh, well then it was really good that you found her," Celina said. "I'm sure you helped her all.... wait, I came up in..." Celina blushed slightly as she turned her face to the side. "Who was the girl, again?" she laughed almost afraid of what could have been said. Why would he be talking about her, was all that Celina could wonder, not to mention she hoped it was all good, for she didn't think she'd offended anyone as of late. Again, she laughed lightly.
Celina looked back at the table of work and bit her bottom lip nervously. Did she have enough time to hang out with Connor? She really wanted to, but she didn't know. There was so much that could be done, so much that she really needed to get done. "Oh, yea?" she asked softly. Celina was tired, and her brain was a bit fried on the edges... "Did you have anything particular you wanted to do?" she grinned, turning her body completely toward the Slytherin Prefect and leaning against the back of her chair, her head resting on her arm. Maybe a few hours wouldn't kill her... but it all depended on what he wanted to do. Celina didn't want to fall asleep on him accidentally... that wouldn't have been nice at all.

' Yes, he's not a nice person at all. ' Connor nodded his head slowly to show his agreement on the matter. While he had never actually met Bauber other than the... encounter at the music festival, Connor was quick to believe what she said of him. Even at the festival he had seemed drunk or disoriented, something that the Slytherin thought to be rather stupid. His slight frown at the topic of Bauber turned into a small grin as Celina mentioned that if anything did happen, she had people there for her. Felicity, Drew, her brother, and namely... him. Connor felt good knowing that Celina could depend on him.
Plus, if anything were to happen he felt sure that Alfonz would be there. He hadn't met the man yet, but from the way Celina talked about him he sounded like a good guy. Tough around the edges, maybe, but not too bad overall. " So you should be covered. " He didn't want the Ravenclaw girl to have to worry about things like that, especially when they were so unlikely.
The blush that was quick to rise to Celina's face brought a soft smile to the Slytherin's face as he turned slightly to look at her. ' Who was the girl, again? ' His answer came quickly, he wasn't sure if Celina knew the girl, though. " Autumn... Mcloughlin or something like that. " He paused a few seconds before going on somewhat boldly. " We were talking about... people we liked and stuff. She's a real nice girl, a year younger than us. " While his last few comments were both true, he said them more so that if what he had said previously was awkward, that it wouldn't just hang there in the air between them. That would be rather suffocating.
The idea of going outside sounded rather nice to Connor, and he wanted to see if Celina was up for it. " How does a walk around the lake sound? One time around, I promise. " He said, trying his best to make it sound interesting enough to get her away from her work for a while and spending some time with him.

Celina cocked her head to the side just slightly and smiled warmly. “Yes, I’ve never doubted that I wasn’t in one way or another.” And for the most part her statement was true. When it came to her brother being around, she’d always have someone to protect her. Her friends on the other hand seemed to depend on the situation, but she knew that if Bauber ever came around Drew and Connor and Alfonz would probably be on the same side for once. Not to mention, Drew would probably flip at another [fine choice of a professor. Celina thought sarcastically to herself at that and giggle slightly.
Hearing the girl’s name that Connor had found out on the grounds, Celina’s smile faded just slightly as she start to think really hard about who the girl could have been. That must have been the reason why she didn’t get prefect. She didn’t really know anyone, even from her own house. She sighed, disappointed in herself, and her smile faded even further. She should have known the girl… or at least the name. “Maybe I’d know her by face…” she said out loud reassuringly, trying yet again to return the smile to her face as she looked back at Connor. It was there, but only just barely.
We were talking about... people we liked and stuff.
With all of her thoughts jumbling around in Celina’s head, she almost missed Connor telling her exactly what he had been talking about with the other Raven girl in the kitchens. However, she didn’t miss it, and another blush rose to the sixteen year old’s face as she turned away and laughed slightly. “Oh, were you now…” she jested lightly, her voice never rising from its usual pitch. Glancing from the side of her eyes as she just barely looked back at Connor, she smiled sweetly as if trying to be innocent and naive. She knew exactly what Connor was talking about, for they had discussed it before… it was just time and busy schedules that had prevented either one of them to really doing anything about the feelings both had for one another. “Then how did my name come up?” Celina jested, giggling slightly as she again looked to the side, her dark hair covering her face slightly.
“A walk around the lake…umm,” it wasn’t that Celina didn’t want to do it, for she did very much, but it was just the idea of what had happened the last time the two tried to walk around the lake. She had left crying, and Connor had been annoyed. Celina felt really bad about the incident, and since it had happened it was dropped. Some things were better left untouched than ever brought back up again. Celina knew that that was hardly healthy, but it was just the way things were. “Will we make it even one time around?” Celina asked, her voice was even softer than normal for she hated asking. It was doing exactly what she had told herself she wouldn’t do, brining up a past event that did not need to be revisited. And yet, the lake was where everything had gone down… and Celina wasn’t sure if it still wouldn’t if they visited the very spot where they first admitted that they liked each other.

Connor smiled his small smile at Celina as she told him that she knew she was covered. It was good that she knew that she had people she could rely on. Connor actually felt proud that he could be counted among the group that she could depended on. " Good. " Was all he said though.
Connor flipped his hair out of his eyes as he noticed the Ravenclaw girl looking a little down about not remembering Autumn. He wasn't surprised, though, as the younger student was new and had only been at the school for a short time. ' Maybe I'd know her by face... ' He lifted his shoulders in a small shrug as he answered, " Maybe. She's only been here a week or so. Didn't exactly know the grounds were off limits after curfew. " He said, laughing softly at the memory. Overall, though, it hadn't been too bad.
Her look of innonence was played off well, and Connor was tempted to say that he thought it was cute. He didn't, though, feeling his stomach flip slightly as Celina asked how her name had come up in the conversation. " Oh, just talking about her parents getting together, oddly enough. " It had been random, now that he thought about it. " I guess they were in Ravenclaw and Slytherin, and I made mention of how the girl I like was in Ravenclaw. Nice topic of discussion with a stranger, really. " He said, making a mockery of his own conversation with Autumn. Connor was making fun of himself mostly, sending a smile at Celina.
As the topic of them going out around the lake and hanging out, Connor sensed her apprehension of doing so. He hoped she would. ' Will we make it even one time around? ' Connor's hand reached for hers, giving it a light squeeze once more but leaving it on hers as he spoke. " Yes. I promise. Maybe even twice if you're up for it. I might talk your ear off though. " He said, his voice as soft as hers as he spoke in a soothing and jesting manner.

Only a week or so. The fact that the girl had not been there long lifted a weight off of the Raven girl’s shoulders that Connor probably had no idea was there, or that he had even helped lift. Silently, Celina was grateful for it, and grateful for the fact that she wasn’t completely blind and unobservant. “Oh, only a week? Then maybe that’s it.” Celina said, smiling a little brighter and wishing Connor had told her such things sooner. It wasn’t as if he had any clue though, but Celina found it tiring to keep feeling ill and then better about things her and Connor spoke of… but that was probably, mostly her fault any ways.
Of course, as their conversation continued, the explanation of how her name came up wasn’t exactly what she was thinking would when she asked her question but it was a nice story any ways. Her mother was a Hufflepuff, and her father went to Durmstrang so it really didn’t fit to include any of it, but Celina nodded all the same as Connor spoke, blushing slightly as he was saying how the girl he liked was in Ravenclaw and he too, was a Slytherin. Celina giggled as she felt as though her stomach would never stop flipping, or the heat to her face would ever stop rising as Connor continuously said it. It was like he was trying to make sure she’d never forget…
Celina looked back at her work, not really wanting to see Connor’s expression if he were to get mad with her by brining up indirectly a topic that didn’t need to be remembered. It was a bad day that was it. Things had happened since then that had been better, of course, but still it lingered… at least in Celina’s mind it did.
A gentle squeeze and Celina was brought out of her thoughts and her eyes glanced and lingered on the hand that squeezed her own. She genuinely smiled as she looked back to Connor, slowly turning her hand so that her fingers could intertwine with his, and gently, she returned the squeeze.
Yes. I promise. Maybe even twice if you're up for it. I might talk your ear off though.
“I’m up for it, and I don’t mind if you talk,” Celina giggled lightly. She liked to listen to Connor speak of all that was going on with him, all of his ideas and thoughts. It interested Celina, especially when she too could enjoy whatever he spoke about, almost as if experiencing it through him. “I like it when you talk,” she laughed again, but turned her head back to all of her work.
“I have to put all of my stuff back in my room though,” she whispered looking back at Connor. “You could come with when I do it quickly if you’d like…” she shrugged. “It’s up to you,” said lastly as she smiled.
