[ Full Character Name: ]Eric Loren Rensten II
[ Character Gender: ] Male
[Character Age:]20
[ Occupation Requesting: ]Spellcrafter
[ Country of Citizenship: ]UK
[ Physical Character Description: ]One of the main things that makes Eric stand out from the crowd is the simple fact of his height. Since he was small, one could always tell he was his father's son because of it. Now, at 20, Eric stands at a healthy 6'4". What few friends he has, he towers over, and seeing over a crowd is no problem for him. As far as his skin goes, the parts that actually do touch sun are fairly fair. However, in the shade under his clothes, he is almost transluscently pale. Eric has been told that he has the worst farmers tan in history. His gait is never the same. Because of his extreme self-consiousness, the way that he walks constantly changes to fit whatever his idea of 'cool' or 'attractive' is at the moment. Despite that fact, his face is almost always relaxed and carefree. His bright blue eyes do nothing but add to that effect, often a twinkle of mischief can be seen, and occasionally child-like wonder when he has discovered something new.
[ Personality Character Description: ] It is truly his face that betrays Eric's nature. He is a carefree person, and doesn't let the small stuff bother him. To most of the people he meets, he is as giving as anyone. Eric is always the one to please. On the flip side, Eric is an intellectual, and as an intellectual, those with which he cannot hold conversation with irritate him. The majority of those people rarely notice it, if ever, because he does a good job putting up the facade of interest. The unknown has always interested him, and he can be found a lot of the time tinkering with either muggle objects, or simply poking things with his wand until something interesting happens. Truth be told, he is a bit too trusting and has been taken advantage of in the past, but to those that do get close and don't screw him over he is a loyal, caring friend.
[ History: ] The Rensten family is a pureblood family to the core. The exception being Eric Rensten I, who fell in love with a muggle girl from his hometown. That girl was Kathryn Tate, and the two had one child. He was named after his father. Eric grew up as any normal wizarding child would, beside the fact that his mother insisted upon him attending Muggle school until the age of seven, when he was brought out for being too unruly with his budding magical powers.
During Lord Voldemort's second rise, his family fled the country to Germany. They returned, of course, after the battle of Hogwarts, and resumed, as best they could, their normal lives.
At the age of 11 he was enrolled in Hogwarts. With little studying, he made his way to his fifth year, where he really buckled down and got serious about his magical education. He scored E's and O's in all of his OWLs, and he went on to perform exceptionally well on his NEWTS, as well.
After school, Eric took a small hiatus from, essentially, everything, and took to travelling the world. Upon his return, he was introduced to Garm Iblis, an older gentleman who took an interest in Eric. As it turned out, the man dabbled in spellcrafting. He had close ties to the Ministry, getting his spells approved for safety by the ministry and preparing them for public release.
Iblis took Eric under his wing to become his protege. And with a new partner to work with, he set off on his new career. However, it wasn't all glitz and glamour as he expected it to be, and now maintains several odd-jobs just to make ends meet. Yet, he loves what he does, and has no problem with work.
[ Pros and Cons : ] Eric is quite a loveable character. He always strives to make those around him comfortable and happy. Eric is the one who will give his chair up, so another can sit comfortably. However, this is also his achilles heal, and has been used as a doormat before. He is accomodating, but also has the problem of saying no.
Eric is quite intelligent, to say the least. He is always looking for a new problem to solve or a new book to crack open. He is always on one or another intellectual exploit, and it has led him to open his mind to most subjects.
His most exceptional characteristic is that he is loyal. He would take a killing curse gladly for any of his friends. He considers friends better than family(because family has to love you).
On the other side of the coin, he does have his moments where he will be irrationally moody. He doesn't go off on people, he just lets it be known that he should not be spoken to under any circumstances. Also, with his problem of saying no comes small bursts of anger from nowhere. For instance, if a small thing bothers him, he lets it boil up until one day, at the drop of a hat, he either lays down the law, or gets a little violent, even.

[Writing/Role Playing Example:] On a spring day where the wind was blowing an inviting breeze through the windows, anyone who was anyone would be outside. Not Eric though, Garm was making him finish up the proposal to the ministry on a, perhaps, more useful and effective cleaning spell that the old go-to of scourgify. He sighed as he looked out the small window in his workspace. He didn't want to get on Garm's badside though, he had a notorious temper when it came to work not getting done. As Eric sat there, staring out the window onto the street, flexing his overworked hand, he decided to break the rules and go out, just for a little bit.
He hurried down the cramped staircase and just as he was reaching the bottom, his heart stopped. There was Garm, just getting in.
"Where do you think you're going?" The man spoke, eyeing him.
"Just to get some water," Replied Eric, shifting his eyes. Even without his gift of legilimensy, Garm would know he was lying.
"I said I wanted the Ministry proposal done tonight," Asserted Garm, raising his voice.
Eric sighed and lifted his hand to count off, "Number one: The ministry won't be expecting that until next week. Number two: I needed a break. And Number three: How do you expect me to stay in on a day like this?"
"You will have plenty of time to chase the ladies when you finish later today," He retorted as if that was all that was to be said and with a roll of the eyes, Eric returned upstairs to finish.
