Red eyed, still limping and still one armed, Xander walked into to his classroom. Today he was starting off with the N.E.W.T. class, but he hadn't got much sleep from working and sending things from place to place. Now his office was sensitive artifact free, but his mind was sleep free as well. He didn't know if he'd last long in class, especially with a painful leg and only one useful arm. Thanks to Thornton, he wouldn't be surprised if no one came into this class or his other classes. A few minutes of wait maybe before he really would leave and go to sleep. He was levitating three crates with him and floating a cup of coffee beside him, Right... I'm not in the mood to be talked back to or the students will see a professor walk out of his own classroom he thought.
Xander put down the cup of coffee on his desk and put the crates down infront of the desk. He didn't even bother to write anything on the board, he'll just wait and drone on to what they would be doing and even maybe let them do it themselves. Xander put down his wand and picked up the cup of coffee, he sipped it and started to wait for his class to come, if there was even a class to come here. He'd loose his job, just because of a stupid shelf of artifacts. No wonder Xander was always failing, he was always a failure to himself and he also felt to be a failure to others.
Xander put down the cup and sighed, he then let his head drop painfully to the desk and he started to think. Think of things worse than what he was experiencing now, but nothing came to mind. Absolutely nothing could be compared to this... or maybe there was, but Xander was too miserable to know it.

Coffee was one of the most useful things to Connor, second to tea of course. It kept him awake and ready, and it took him through his bouts of sleepless nights he had been going through lately. He made his way up to the History of Magic classroom on the first floor after a brief stop at the kitchens to refill his plastic coffee thermos with a nice amount of coffee, milk and sugar. Taking sips from it as he walked up the stairs, Connor could feel a slight buzz starting in his brain and slowly working its way down to the rest of his body. Just enough to keep awake and able to do the lesson, that was what he told himself.
Connor sat himself down in a seat in the middle of the classroom, not noticing Griffiths slumped over on his desk at the moment. Once he did look up at the man finally, though, he quirked his head, wondering what the hell happened to the man. Connor hadn't heard anything of the incident with Drew and Griffiths, so he had no idea what could bring the sorrows of the History professor. " Sir? Are you alright? " He asked, setting his bag down on his desk and walking up towards the front of the room. He leaned against a desk and took another drink from his mug of coffee, wondering if Griffiths even would allow him to have the mug.
If not, he would always dispose of it and get it later.

Celina was next to enter the room, also oblivious to what the History of Magic professor had been doing in his spare time. It worked well, avoiding most as she found the rash on her body was growing increasingly more red, itchy, and all together annoying. There was no time to be sick, for there was too much work to be done, so Celina had taken a pepper-up potion and gone to classes. This morning however, she did something that usually no one would see Celina doing... or rather, wearing... Natural color make up lifted the girls eyes, making them seem brighter, and coverup was evenly spread along the back of her neck where anyone could see where the rash was forming. Most of it was happening on her back, and thanks to her uniform, not much of it could be seen.
She wore a long sleeved shirt, and her uniformed socks that they were supposed to wear, were a pure color of white leggins instead. No one would be able to see any of the rash, and her sniffling and coughing could be mistaken for the common cold. Now Celina just hoped that her make up wasn't too much, but enough to make it seem as if she was healthy and her normal self.
Taking a seat next to Connor as he asked Griffiths if he was alright, Celina said nothing. She just looked and pondered at what was going on with the man in front of the two of them. "He doesn't look too well, does he?" Celina asked in a hushed voice, somewhat nervously. Her voice cracked slightly as her throat burned and she hoped her fever would stay down long enough from the pepper-up potion to last her through the day... Not to mention... to make it through her other classes.

Connor tilted his head, looking at the man still. He noticed his arm was bandaged up and he didn't look that well in general. With no immediate response from the grown man in front of him, Connor turned to catch a glance of the person now entering the room. His previously slightly worried expression changed into a happier one as he saw Celina walk into the room and take the seat next to him. He didn't notice anything new or different about her appearance and let his gaze turn back to Griffiths. Maybe he was dead. Connor thought it jokingly, but still. He knew things like that had happened before, at Hogwarts and even at the Ministry. He shook his head, knowing that the man was alive and kicking, probably just feeling under the weather.
He turned back to Celina as she spoke to him, her voice quiet and hushed. ' He doesn't look too well, does he? ' Connor shook his head, answering just as quietly as to not disturb the man. " Not really. Think he's alright? " He asked, wondering if they should be too concerned. All else failed they could always run down to the infirmary and get a nurse to come check up on Griffiths.

Nothing said about anything, Celina breathed a bit easier as she noticed that Connor's focus was on the man up front. Hers was too at that moment, wondering if they should maybe be ducking under their desks just in case he sat up real quick and fired off something from his wand at them. Thinking that thought, she gulped slightly, and moved herself a bit closer to Connor that she already was, her fingers slightly latching onto the sleeve of his uniform. "I'm not sure..." Celina answered the Slytherin in her hushed tone. If she suggested they duck under their desks, would Connor think her silly? Celina didn't know but at the same time, she didn't want the professor to be all of a sudden startled if they were there and then all of a sudden were not.
"Maybe, he's ok... I mean, it's Professor Griffiths... right?" she leaned her cheek up against Connor's shoulder, slightly worried that she should have been ducking in cover. Celina only hoped it wouldn't come to that.

Drew had passed the History OWL, was confident that he would pass the damn NEWT with flying colors, and while he didn't need to take the class, he saw absolutely no reason to attend. He had missed a few lessons, simply because Griffiths had held them in the office and Drew had obviously not been invited. Drew had kept up on his own and now that class was back in the classroom, Drew was stitting in.
He strode in purposefully, nodding and smiling crookedly at Celina and Connor who were huddled together and whispering worriedly. He chose not to interupt them and went straight to the back of the room, taking a seat and pulling his books and notes out of his backpack. He slipped his glasses on and quietly started reading over some of his more recent notes. If Griffiths wanted him out of the class, he'd have to physically remove him.

Why was she even going to the class? The reason was solely because her dad had written her telling her shew as to continue all of her classes after she finally admitted to them she was no longer attending History of Magic, but she wouldn't tell them why. The response was that she was to continue attending lessons, the problem was she didn't want to be in that man's office ever again after her last detention with him, and she refused to go to his class while he held it in there.
However, today she was attending the lesson. Knowing Celina, Connor, and Drew would all be there, she was sure nothing too bad would happen. After all, all three of them were really good in wand classes, so things should be all right. Three skilled wizards against a professor? They should be all right.
Before entering the room, Felicity peeked around the room, looking to see who was in all ready. It didn't surprise her to see the three students she liked a whole lot in there, and while she was a little torn between sitting with who, she decided to take a seat with Drew. He was after all, not only her boyfriend and someone she cherished a lot, but he was sitting by himself instead of with her friends. And Celina and Connor had gotten awfully close lately, so she figured they wouldn't mind if Felicity went to sit with the Ravenboy.
While Drew was bent over his papers, reading away, the blonde quickly strode over to him and slipped her arms around his neck briefly, trying to gain some sort of confidence about being in the classroom, before sliding into the seat to his right. Seeing his glasses on his face made her smile, as she liked him wearing them, especially because she liked their first conversation they'd had when he was wearing them, when he was teasing her about his grandmum.
"Hi," she drawled quietly, hoping not to disturb their professor.

"Hey you," Drew answered back, looking up at her and breaking into a wide grin. He wasn't too surprised to see her there, having spoken to her about it and basically coming to the decision to rejoin the class with her help. Along with everything else, there was no way he wanted her in the same room as that man without him there.
He wasn't going to spend too much time talking to the pretty Gryffindor, not about to give Griffiths any reason to point blame in their direction. Drew would speak up if he felt something was wrong, but he wasn't about to let the man speak up against him.
With a crooked grin, he pushed his notes towards Felicity, letting her read them as well. If Griffiths got mad at them for studying before class, then it was just proof the man had gone off the deep end.

Xander didn't look up when he heard people come in, he just stayed in his positioin. Then he heard Connor's question and wanted to raise his head, but found he couldn't. Unless he wanted to tire himself further, he didn't dare do anything. But then he heard Celina say something, and he just had to try. He slowly raised his head up and his red eyes stared up at his two students, "Goodmorning, you two... I'm just not feeling like myself today, I'll have to..." but his words were cut off as a sudden wave of pain from his arm and leg sent him lying on the floor. "Oh, d***it. It's not supposed to act this way." he muttered, trying to get up. But the pain was increasing and Xander was finding it hard to move, he's had these wounds before, but none of them got worse. It must have been the added physical stress on him, it was probably taking a very downhill turn. Xander finally stood up with a lot of effort, but he had to grab on to Connor's shoulder to steady himself. He even ignored the fact that Drew and Felicity were there, he was sick enough not to be angry or even to try being angry. "Class.... today, you all will be learning the methods of the Romans in combat. Sadly, I'm not in shape to do the demonstrations, so I think Connor." he looked at Connor, "You'll be able to tell them what I've told you guys in my office, and there are tomes in every crate along with the artifacts. Pick an artifact and a tome about it. Research about it and tell me about them" he said. Then Xander walked back to his desk and finally released Connor's shoulder, he then sat down and took a sip of his coffee. "Don't spill coffee on those tomes, Connor." he added, putting on the best smile he can give, though it was a pained one. ((P.S. Artiofacts include the staff, the swords, the shields, and some other things. You can invent your artifacts, just be sure to have details with it. ))

Drew held no sympathy for the man who, crippled by his own family heirlooms, still thought the school would be a safe place to store them. In the Ravenclaw's mind, the jackass who believed himself to be a professor got exactly what had been coming to him. The man was an idiot who obviously didn't know what kinds of things he was playing with. And then having the nerve to lecture Drew on how they weren't dark items? That had been almost laughable.
The lesson appeared to be starting and it was clear that Griffiths wasn't going to even pretend to teach it. What else was new? Jeremy had already told him what went on in the younger classes. Drew was pretty sure that Griffiths had gotten rid of the dangerous stuff, but the Ravenclaw wasn't taking any chances. He took his notes back and scribbled quickly in letters, large enough for Felicity to see them clearly.
Don't touch the artifacts. The tomes should be ok.
Tilting the paper so she could see it, Drew pulled his wand and placed it readily available on his desk. If it was necessary to protect his classmates from this man's continued stupidity, Drew wouldn't hesitate to do so.

' Maybe, he's ok... I mean, it's Professor Griffiths... right? ' Connor nodded his head, thinking that the man would probably get up soon. His free hand moved to rest on Celina's back in a reassuring manner as she moved a little closer to him, her cheek resting onto his shoulder. He nodded his greeting to the two other students as they entered the room with a small smile. " I'm sure he'll be... " He trailed off, seeing Professor Griffiths look up and greet them. He smiled slightly, still wondering what the hell had happened to the man in the first place. " G'morning. " He said in return, as as Griffiths made to stand just ended up on the floor, Connor moved away from Celina, towards the front of the room to help him.
He was still indifferent to the man, but when he was lying on the floor, he looked quite pitiful. Just as the sixth year was about to help him up he saw the man standing, holding onto his soulder for support. He nodded his head as he listened to the instructions for the day, confirming that he would tell Felicity and Drew about the study session / lesson if they wanted to know about it. He felt relieved as the man released his shoulder and stumbled back to his desk, at least they knew he wouldn't be falling over again.
Connor was on his way back to his desk when he heard Griffiths address him once again. He nodded, " Yeah, I'll be careful Professor. " He said with a light smile. He wouldn't want to ruin any of the artifacts, whatever they were. He sat down back into his seat and turned to Celina. " Have anything in mind? " He asked with a look over to the crates, figuring they could maybe work together.

Timidly smiling back at Drew when she saw the grin on his face, she quietly and quickly scooted her chair a little closer to Drew's desk, but not too much, so she could look off his notes with him. While since the horrible class she hadn't spent too much time studying for History of Magic, she did try a little here and there when Drew was studying for the class, but not too much and she was grateful that he was willing to share a little with her.
Reading off his notes was easy as she'd come accustomed to his scrawl, liking his handwriting quite a bit, especially the letters he'd written her over summer when they weren't allowed to see one another for that horribly long week. It was just one more thing to add to her list of things she liked about him; his handwriting.
When Griffiths started the class, Felicity quickly moved her chair back in its proper place, but didn't lift her eyes to look at the man. He was horrid and the three reasons she was in the class again were her dad, Drew, and Celina. Her dad ordered, Drew talked to her, and Felicity felt Celina needed her, even if it wasn't true. What would Felicity do? Set the man's chair on fire? Actually, that didn't sound like a horrible idea...
But when the man told Connor to basically run the class, Felicity's eyes bugged out at her desk. Why was he telling a student to teach his lesson? If he wasn't feeling well he shouldn't be holding class! Not telling a student to teach the lesson, the students weren't being paid to do that.
Huffing at her desk, she only glanced up at Drew when she noticed his notes had moved away from her briefly, and then she read what he wrote. Raising an eyebrow at him, she was slightly confused about what he meant, but if he said not to touch the things, she wouldn't.

Sophia stumbled into the classroom noisily, a bag in each arm. "I'm soooo sorry! I didn't mean to be..." She looked around the room. She was very confused. The professor was not teaching, there were Roman artifacts in front of the classroom, and it seemed like everyone had paired up already. It figures. Sophia thought glumly. She took a seat in the back and dropped her bags as quietly as possible. Her usual black and white houndstooth purse sat on the floor and her other bag, filled with books, lay next to it. She got out a roll of parchment and her quill and began to look around to see what others were doing. She hadn't a clue what was going on.

Xander looked at the student, he would teach, but his students on the past lesson already know this. "Connor, Celina. You two can continue what we did in my office, those are the same artifacts. I won't bother teach those who wouldn't even move from their seat, take an artifact and a book about it, research and write." he said, looking straight at Drew and Felicity, before looking at Connor and Celina. Maybe Annemarie was right, he did need the hospital wing. But past experiences there as well as some stupid reminders kept him back, it was hard for the man to go there.
His thoughts were drifting off somewhere before he heard someone come in, in a very loud way. He looked towards the door and saw a student, he nodded at her apology, but she stopped short. He didn't quite know this student though, but he just said "Ms... please pick up an artifact on one of the crate and take a book about that artifact, I'm not feeling well right now so just revising from my last lesson would be good. If you have any difficulties, just ask me or those two." he pointed at Connor and Celina, then he took his mug of coffee and finished it. He vanished it with his wand and then leaned back on his chair.

Drew had no idea what Griffiths was trying to say. All he knew was the man said he wasn't going to bother teaching certain people. Drew wasn't surprised in the least. The man was the laziest excuse for a professor and from what Drew did understand, the class would be doing exactly what he had been doing for History class over the last few months: read a book and figure it out for yourself.
"I'll get us a couple of books," he whispered to Felicity, still not about to touch any of the man's artifacts. He grabbed his wand as he moved to the front of the room, just in case it was needed, and took two volumes. Without even looking at the man, he returned to his seat and placed one book in front of Felicity, offering her a small smile. They had no real directions other than to research the artifacts he had in the front of the room. Drew figured he and felicity could do that without the dang thing ssitting on their desk.
