"Yes, the real tango." Imogene said, as she turned her head to look around. There was only one slight problem. No music. And there would be no way to just randomly get music fit for the tango, but Imogene was sure she could manage without it.
"Okay...just imagine music is playing." For a moment, Imogene thought that they might looked strange to innocent bystanders, but she didn't let it bother her.

"Why?" Drew asked. The person playing their Ipod must have finally realized it was on way too loud, but that didn't mean they had to go without. He dug through his pockets digging out his own MP3. sure he didn't have a traditional tango in it, but he was sure he could find something that could work.

"Well..." Imogene began, thinking of what she was going to say, "Be realistic, now. I don't think people would do the tango to country music, now would they? And I'm sure you don't tango music on that thing, thus my reasoning to imagining music." Imogene spoke confidently, trying to cover up the fact that she was making up words as she went along.
For a moment, Imogene became distracted by him, shuffling through his pocket for something. "What are you doing?" She asked, with a slight confused look on her face.

Drew held up the MP3 for her to see. "My dad rigged it so it can play without batteries," he told her. "I can stick an amplifying charm on it. All we have to do is find something that works. A decent dancer could make anything work as long as it's got the right beat."

Imogene thought for a moment. "Anything with a lively beat to it will work, I guess." Still, she tried thinking of different things that would go hand-in-hand with tango, other than tango music.

Drew flipped through the songs. He too had a mixture of muggle and wizarding bands saved. Every so often he would stop and see if a song would work for him, murmuring the beat he was looking for. slow... slow... quick quick slow...

"I know!" A light bulb had suddenly gone off in Imogene's mind. "How 'bout a slow flamenco song? That should work. Though I doubt you'd listen to that type of music." She said, getting back into her thinking mode. Yet she got nothing. Though, Imogene didn't get too discouraged. They both would just have to compromise if nothing could be done.

Drew gave her a blank stare, stopping in mid-flip. Did she really think he would have a flamenco song saved? When he continued searching, he finally hit upon one that might work... an upbeat song with a somewhat Latin rhythm from the group One-Eyed Newts. With a grin, he placed the device down, hit it with an amplifying spell and faced Imogene, ready posture to begin.

Imogene gave him an uneasy look. Oh just great! Now I shall have to go through with this! She thought, wishing she had just kept her mouth shut. It wasn't that Imogene couldn't do it, but self-consciousness rose up in her. What if she messed up? What would happen? Would she be a laughing stock and make a fool of herself? What if she did fine? There was really no turning back at this point anyway.
Giving out one last confident sigh, she smiled very slightly at him. "Ready?" She asked, a bit in a nervous tone.

"Almost always," Drew answered with a devilish smirk. The challenge of the tango had surprised him. Girls usually (not that he really did stuff like dancing with random girls all that often) tried to trip him up by suggesting the waltz, one of his best. And while Tango wasn't exactly his top dances, he could still do it pretty well.

"Alright then. On the count of three, you make the first move." Imogene said, looking at her feet for a moment. Alright, this is it..."One," Get ready Imogene... "Two..." Think fast! "Three." Imogene, in a sense, braced herself for the gracious moments that awaited her.

"Hoooold on," Drew said before she got too far. "Last I remember, I'm the guy... I do the leading... I decide when we start.... Besides, it's a four count beat. How can we start on a three?" He looked down at her and grinned waiting for the right beat. When he found what he was looking for he counted off softly, "...five, six, seven, eight.." before taking the first step. Sharp but still smooth, he led her around the floor, going easy for himself as much as for her, hoping she didn't end up stepping on his feet. Even the best of dancers managed to do that once in a while.

All Imogene concentrated on was the steps she took with her feet. She tried not thinking it as dancing. More or less, she took it as normal walking. This way, there would be less a chance of her completely falling on her face. That would be very embarrassing.
Those numbers played in her head like a broken record player. Yet she really didn't want to count them out loud, so in a way, she mouthed them silently. Other than that, Imogene wasn't really sure if she should say anything at all. She felt it would be slightly awkward.

Slow, slow, quick-quick It was easy enough for Drew to keep the count straight, having done the steps enough that it was nearly second nature for his feet. He looked at his partner and gave her a sideways smile, finding it funny that her lips moved as she danced.

Eventually, Imogene got used to it. She was actually enjoying it. It was probably just because of the fact that she was dancing, one of great passions and joys in life. Or, it could've been the other option...but Imogene didn't want to go there.
