The weather was gorgeous, bright, sunny skies, a light, warm breeze, not a cloud in sight. Well, not exactly. In fact the sky was a pale blue, pretty enough to still make her think of someone's eyes when she saw it through one of the windows she passed. The sun wasn't exactly out. And the wind was more than light, rather it almost ripped through the castle and made the worst of howling noises. At least the blonde hoped it was the wind.
Avoiding the paper's office as she knew how much work was piled up for her to look through, not in the mood to practice her wandwork though she knew she should, the Gryffindor instead skipped though the first floor corridor. It was a nice corridor, not far from the Great Hall or Kitchens, yet far enough away from the towers where the wind really whipped through. Yes, indeed it was a nice corridor.
Although she skipped, it wasn't as random as it sounded. No, she skipped because in hand she held a jumprope, one she didn't know had been packed into her trunk. Mot likely by one of her nephews or nieces after they saw the pile of books she had to take to school with her; it would be one of their ideas to let her know she needed to have fun. After searching through the seemingly bottomless trunk for something that would work for the Halloween Ball for she and Jax, she'd found it and decided a break was needed.
Felicity wasn't very good at jumping rope, but she could do basics. Keep the rope swinging while she meandered on through it.
"Bluebells, cockle shells, Eevie, ivy, over; I like coffee, I like tea; I like the boys, and the boys like me," barely getting through those few lines she stumbled on the last of the words. Time to try again.

Noelle found herself walking around once again looking for something to do. Aimlessly walking toward the kitchen or even the great hall, anything in this point. Stepping off the stairs she found a girl she met briefly earlier near the greenhouses, a Gryffindor named, Felicity.
In the gryff's hand she held a jump rope, Noelle liked double dutch and knew a couple of songs herself. Going up to the girl she said "Hi," shyly and asked "Can I join you?" She tried to recall a couple of tunes she learned when she was a kid visiting the states.

"Hello Noelle," she greeted the girl when she'd been greeted. At least she remembered her name, that poor Seanna, it took the longest of times to remember her name, and even then it had to be said in order for her to remember it, and she was even a staff member on the paper. Felicity was not off to a good start with that one, nowheres near one.
"Of course you can join," she grinned at the Ravenclaw. If she'd seen the lion's spectacular display she'd understand a part of the reason she was eager for another. If there was someone else, she would be able to observe and perhaps learn something about skipping rope. Anything to teach her how to do it better than she did.
Handing the rope over, she wondered a bit about a few things. Jumping rope was fun and all, but her mind was just a thrashing-about about the possibilities of magic involved with jumping rope. "Let's see what you got," she challenged teasingly.

Noelle smiled as she was handed the rope, stepping back a few she began her rhyme. "Cinderella, dressed in yellow went upstairs to kiss a 'fella made a mistake and kissed a snake how many doctors did it take..1..2..3..4..5..6- " stopping when her foot got caught she laughed it off and handed the rope back to Felicity. "Take turns? He he I don't know many rhymes..but I do know like three tricks."
Noelle then thought about the time she played with her muggle cousins, then when she also played with her pure blood friends. That was totally different, one with regular tricks and the other with 'magic' she thought as her eyes revealed a glint of what she was thinking, a wand and friend. The fun they would both have, she would suggest it later when she remember her other rhymes or when she thought of a fun spell to do.

Laughing at her new friend, she retook the rope to try again. "Turns it is," she agreed. Too bad she didn't have another rope, that would've been fun, but it was going to be fun anyway. "I know a few fair rhymes, but not any tricks. I can skip back and forth and that's about the end of my ability," the blonde laughed at herself. "Let's try this again."
Starting the rope swinging, she got into rythm right away. "Lemon drops and sugar candy, both of these taste just dandy. Best of all is cherry pop, how many jumps before I stop? 1...2...3...4...5..." It stopped. Felicity moved her arm into the rope accidentally. Giggling, she looked back at Noelle. "Seems not very many, huh?" she asked, answering the question in the rhyme. "Here you go."
Felicity handed it back to her friend.

"Thank You," Noelle let a deep breath out and did a little stretch with her arms. "Ok, let's see this one my muggle friend, Sara taught me. It's involved."
She began to jump as she said "Last night, night before, my boyfriend took me to the candy store..." when she said store she switched the rope from going forward to jumping back wards and continued. "He bought me ice cream, he bought me cake. He brought me home with a belly ache," again she turn almost getting caught as she did and said, "Mama, mama, I feel sick. Call the doctor quick, quick quick!" Every time she said quick she jumped on one foot. "Doctor, Doctor will I die?" She closed her eyes and counted to five. "1...2...3...4...5.." she stopped jump her breath a little ragged.
"Hehe, I haven't done that since I was seven. Surprisingly, I think there's more." Noelle laughed and decided that she was going to stick to easy ones, or take out her wand and have it hold the rope while she jumped.

Felicity stood in awe as she watched the girl. No, that was definitely a bit advanced for her, she could barely skip with the rope swinging forward. How was she supposed to be able to compete with that? She wasn't, not without practice. Sighing to herself, she tried to make a quick count of everything she now had to do. Practice with Drew, find Sammy, work on the paper, work on hers and Jax's Halloween costumes, write to her family, figure out what was going on between she and Drew, study California, study for classes, complete papers, read about squirrels, and now jumproping. She sure had a busy life, but at least if she was ever bored all she had to do was pick something else to do.
"That was really keen," she admitted to the Ravengirl. Indeed it was, and she was a little jealous of the girl, but it was a friendly type of jealous. "You said a friend taught you?" she asked, not bothering with the muggle comment. Muggle or magical, that was really neat what she'd done, at least to the Gryffindor it was. Maybe the girl could teach her?

"Hehe, it's funny cause my magical friends can't do it but the others can, that's what I've noticed one day, Oh! And that magic and can really destroy a jumprope." She smiled and felt her legs weaken.
"Yeah, my friend Helena taught me, would you like to learn? It doesn't take that long, good thing you already no how to jump." She chuckled, that's why her other friends got frustrated, they keep tripping.

Raising an eyebrow out of curiosity, she wondered what Noelle had meant by magic could destroy a jump rope. Of course, many people knew Felicity could destroy almost anything with magic, but she hadn't planned on pulling her wand out on the thing, and exactly what had the Ravengirl done that allowed her knowledge to know what magic could do to a harmless jump rope, then again, Felicity could guess.
Nodding, she smiled at her friend. If she was willing to teach, the blonde was willing to learn. Letting a giggle escape her lips she knew it was probably a good thing she could jump, otherwise she would've looked pretty silly with the rope. On the other hand, it could have provided for quite a funny story. "If you want to show me how, I'd love to learn."

"Ok this will be interesting, once again." She smiled at the other girl, I can only hope she doesn't have a temper...like Julie..arghh that was a bad day." Noelle remembered that day all to well, she was set off to teach her first pupil, Julie had never seen a jump rope and didn't blend well with the manuel type of things. While she was teaching her her foot repeatedly kept getting stuck, so after about fifty tries, she stopped walked away and came back with her wand. She tried to stop Julie but with that girls short temper..hehe yea right...she stepped back and there goes her fun." Groaning at the memory she returned to her friend, with a polite smile.
"Let's try the hop..you can bounce on one foot right?" Noelle showed her what she meant. Knowing she probably looked ridiculous just hopping with out the jump rope she knew the simple move would need to be combined with the rope, which was sometimes confusing.

Laughing, she balanced herself very well on one foot and began to hop. Yes, she could actually do that, surprisingly. Then again, she had good balance, she just liked to fall over at random periods when the need called for it. Stopping, she switched over to the other foot and began hopping on that one, just in case the need called for it at some point. Hopping was a check. a Both girls could hop quite well, in fact they looked like they were creating a newer version of the bunny hop itself.
"Looks like that's yes," she grinned. Definitely off to a good start, or off to the right foot, or maybe the left foot, either way it was good. "What's next?"

They hopped quite well, and reminded her of a dance she saw once with this culture from the Americas. "Well, next stepped or well..Jump..is to incorporate it with the jump rope." It took a few tries but the big part of it was to keep balance, "Try to maintain your balance," she said, hoping it would be helpful.
"Then if you can do that, it will look a bit like this," she showed her the moved with ease and stopped knowing that she would probably lose balance and embrassess herself. "After this I'll show you a cool move, you can do it that I know."

"I think I might be able to do that," she smiled. Taking the rope, she skipped a bit to get the rope moving, then switched over to the hop, only to catch the rope on her foot and nearly fall forwards. "Maybe I should try again."
Once more, the rope swinging good, she switched to hopping on one foot. This time it worked, at least until she put a stop to it, knowing that if she tried any longer she'd lose her balance and topple over. So, practicing it was. She'd practice more later, now was time to see what the Ravengirl had to show her. Smiling, she handed the rope back over. "So what cool move do you know?"

"Well I don't know if it's all that cool but I like it." She was ready and exicted to show off a bit, taking a deep breath in she got ready. She did two jumps and then crossed her arms, which in turn crossed the rope. Her body went through the opening in the 'X' it made and then she turned it back to normal and repeated the action. Sometimes she wouldn't make it and just look werid attempting, but luckily for her it didn't happen this time.
"I think you could do that." She smiled at Felicity knowing that since she got the hopping move with ease, she could probably get this with one or two tries. At least she keeps trying. Noelle thought, happy to note it and return to the lesson. "All you have to do is cross your arms when you pull the rope over your head, like your hugging yourself. You go through the circle you make and then when you pull it back around you put your arms back to normal."

Hugging and unhugging? Sounded simple enough. And Noelle had made it seem pretty simple by both the way she explained it and demonstrated. All right, her turn. Taking the rope back, she got it swinging a bit. When she pulled the rope over her head, she crossed her arms, only to feel the rope clunk down on the top of her blonde head. At least it hadn't hurt.
Laughing, she smiled sheepishly at the other girl. Time to try again. Getting the rope going once more, she crossed her arms, and surprisingly didn't feel it fall on top of her. However, she did feel it when she fell face forward after having caught her feet in the contraption. Sitting up, she gently rubbed at her freckled nose, feeling the smallest of pains from having made contact with the floor.
Letting her brown eyes travel up, she smiled again at the Ravenclaw. "I think I'm going to have to practice a bit more with that one." Once more, she crossed and uncrossed her arms, successfully. But that was before she had the rope going, just trying to get a feel for it. Time to try a third time. Rope going, she managed it, barely, but she had. The rope had gone over her head, under her feet, and back over her without fail. It wasn't as hard as it seemed, yet.
