New students.
He loved it. New students to teach. However, today they were not going to be taught anything, but they were going to do something introductial today. They were going to see a glimpse of what they were going to be taught throughout this year and it was going to be rather fun actually. He loved teaching first years and teaching them something rather exciting was the fun part as well.
He walked towards the board and wrote:
He was ready. He sat down at his desk and waited for the first years.

Kopo checked, double checked, and rechecked her stuff before she eventually abandoned her food and left the Great Hall. She was two excited to get to her class and start learning about magic to eat. She had skimmed through the required books and most of it made all of no sense but she got some of it. Hopefully she would be good at Charms - it sounded like a fun class and she would hate to have that ruined by her inability to preform well. Pausing just a short moment before entering she opened the door and stepped inside. First one. Well at least she got to pick her seat, the only problem was that the classroom was not arranged like a normal one.
She smiled politely at the professor and with a little nod she greeted, "Hello, Professor." Then her eyes slipped towards the bored and she read it. Following instructions she was towards the back of the room directly in front of the professors desk. She pulled out her books and set them in front of her and waited for the others to arrive.

Chris yawned and stretched. He pulled on his robes... the clean edition (unlike those he'd worn through the swamp and into the great hall for the sorting feast)... and looked at the clock in the Gryffindor Common Room. "Bloody 'ell!" Charms class, first class of the term and he was already in danger of getting there late! He chose to forgo breakfast, he'd eat a large lunch later, and head straight for the classroom instead. People had always told him that he'd learn a lot on the first day, and Chris had always thought that would pertain to classes - so after he got lost on the stairs for the third time (all little glitches that were easily remedied, mind you) it came clearer to him exactly how much he'd be learning this first day of the term. His tie wasn't on correctly, he looked disheveled, but he marched into the classroom with an excuse on his lips - only to find that he was among the only student in the classroom. "Profess-" he stopped, noticing the chairs were arranged differently, oddly. "Professor... good morning." He said, cracking a sly smile toward the Prof. Noticing the other student, Chris tried to hide a wink from the Professor, hoping it worked. He, boldly, took up the seat nearest the girl, and waited for some moments, as she did also. It was in those few moments that Chris realized something fatally different from his desk and hers - aside from the tidiness of the occupier. "Bloody 'ell," he exclaimed, mostly to himself as he realized he had none of his books with him! It was most definitely going to be a long day.

Little did Chris know, but Izzy had been following him for the last five minutes. She had always been a late riser, and this morning had been no exception. Lucky for her, it appeared that her fellow Gryffindor had been running late as well, so she was able to follow him out of the portrait hole and down to the fifth floor where the Charms Classroom was located. Of course it had taken a while for him to find the classroom, but that was to be expected, as he was just a first year and was therefore unfamiliar with the castle. Had Izzy tried to find the classroom on her own, she probably would've had just as much trouble as Chris'd had, if not more.
She waited a few moments before stepping into the classroom to find the desks arranged in a circle. The sight almost brought a smile to the Gryffindor's lips, as it reminded her of her old school, where some of her teachers had made the students sit in a circle.
However, Hogwarts was neither her old school, nor was the professor Ms. Pecora. Instead, the professor was a middle-aged man who was sitting patiently at his desk, obviously waiting for the rest of the students to arrive. Izzy wasn't sure whether or not to smile at him, so she instead avoided his gaze, as well as the two other students', as she picked the desk closest to the door to sit in.
She plopped her books on the floor a little too loudly and then sat down, where she began scratching at the mosquito bite on the back of her hand, which she had gotten yesterday when a swamp had appered in the Entrance Hall seconds before the first years were to be sorted. That had been fun.
Not.

Chris had not, indeed, seen the Lioness behind him. Now, he noticed, she sat the farthest away from he and the other girl. He yawned and scratched his head, trying to pass off his forgetfulness (that being the absence of his books) as intentional. Thus far, he thought, he cast a bad outlook on the male populous of first years. Seeing as he was surrounded by female students (if a ratio of two to one constitutes being surrounded) his masculinity raged. He yawned again, being careful to cover his mouth (as chivalric codes are still in place). He hoped to catch at least one of the girls' attentions. Maybe not? Maybe not.

Emory made her way to the Charms classroom. It was a tad bit farther than she thought, but on her way to the class, she was munching on toast. Her stomach was growling, and she managed to eat a small amount of juice, and was able to down a glass of juice, but that was it. Walking into the classroom with her bookbag slung over her shoulder, she noticed the classroom was awkard. No desks...I like this teacher... Emory thought silently as she smiled. She walked over to the Ravenclaw girl.
"Hi...Im Emory Taylor... Im a Hufflepuff." Emory said brightly. For an eleven year old, she was very bright and bubbly. Emory guessed, Hufflepuff fit her perfectly.

Kopo watched the classroom fill up. The first boy who entered sat down next to her. She quickly glanced over him, from how he was acting thus far he seemed to be good natured. She also noted that he looked absolutly un prepaired and guessed that he had rolled out of bed, thrown on the nearest robes, left his bag, and then came to class. She sighed just a little to herself after glancing at the clock, the boy probally wouldn't have time to go and get his books. If this class was anything like any of her old classes she would end up having to share her book with him and he would get yelled at after class. Well, she might offer now before she was told to do so...
"Bloody 'ell indeed!" She told him after he had finished his yawn. "Looks like you forgot all of your materials." She moved her books to inbetween them. "You can look off mine, if you like."
It was then another girl came over and said hello, well this certainly was a friednly place. She wasn't annoyed exactly and she didn't mind but she had been planning on a nice quiet class in solitude. Oh well, if she was still going to have that she would end up beign very rude. Much better to be polite.
"Hi, Emory!" She said with a smile leaning back a bit so she could look up at the Hufflepuff. "I'm Kopo, but you can call me K.C. I'm in Ravenclaw." Then after a moments thought she patted the ground next to her and said, "Have a seat if you want, Emory!"

Chris smiled at the Ravenclaw. He felt stupid, but at least she'd offered. "Thanks," he said, continuing to smile sheepishly. Before he could say more, another girl came over and presented herself. Her name was Emory Taylor and she was a Huff-n-puff. Chris suppressed a laugh at her beaming pride of being in what he considered the most overlooked houses in Hogwarts. Sometimes he thought his personality should have landed him in Slytherin, but instead he was a Gryffindor. He felt he had more to be proud of with his house than huffnpuff. The girl he'd sat down next to was a Ravenclaw by the name of Kopo. Thats not a name he'd forget so easily. Especially when she was letting him her books. As Kopo, or K.C. as she suggested Emory call her, patted the seat next to her, Chris detected, possibly too late, some air of condescension fuming from the other girls, possibly originating from the other Gryffindor girl on the opposite side of the room. No matter. Chris didn't bother passing judgments on the others. He left that to women . Seizing the chance, now that the girls were settling down, Chris stuck out his hand to K.C., first, and Emory, second. "Hallo girls. I'm Christian Nagle, Gryffindor first year." Then, only to get a reaction, he smiled widely at Emory. "You're looking well, Miss Taylor." He threw in a wink for dramatics... only to garner a reaction.

Selene was becoming less and less fond of Hogwarts, already. Between moving stairs and ones that sucked your feet in, she was frustrated and annoyed. It wasn’t a good way to start the first day off that was for sure. Grunting, the two Fairchild slightly panted leaning against the walls outside of the charms classroom. “Chandra…remind me….that…I….” Selene could hardly spit out what she was trying to say. “We definitely need like an elevator or something.” Selene looked over at Chandra and snorted, shaking her head as she did so.
“Ready for this?” Selene asked her sister, before the two of them walked into the classroom, swaying slightly back and forth and looking around at all of their classmates. Selene wasn’t too sure about any of them and crossed both of her arms over her chest. The board read that there were no seats and that they all had to sit around in a circle. No seats meant no desks and no chairs to Selene, but as she looked around, some people had seats and desks. “So…where do we sit?” Selene asked eyeing the board, the professor, and then the other students. The Fairchild twins stood at the entrance of the door.

Chandra…remind me….that…I…. Chandra panted right along with her sister and giggled. “At least we got some exorcise.” Trying to see the positive side of things, Chandra looked forward, carrying their bag and looking around. We definitely need like and elevator or something. Nodding in agreement, Chandra pushed herself up from the wall, Selene did the same.
Ready for this? “Not really,” Chandra truthfully responded as they walked into the classroom and looked around. She too, read the board and raised an eyebrow. Yes, she too was very confused on what to do. So… where do we sit? Chandra shrugged, setting down their bag on the ground and sighing. “Somewhere we can lean against a wall or something?” Chandra arched her back and stretched it out slightly. “I’m sore…ugh,” she softly complained to only her sister.

This was going to be a breeze. A small spread across the Ravenclaw's face. She had found it funny that instead of sitting in a seat, she was now sitting in a circle. Her legs were crossed indian style, and she was observing those around her. Sydney was a bit anti-social, which was apparent at the lack of interaction she was having.
In almost every class, she sat, quietly as those around her laughed and chatted. Sydney guessed it was her fault for not being social. Sydney just hoped that class would soon begin. She hated the awkwardness that was continually growing between herself and her classmates. She bit her bottom lip, as she waited. She was horrible at introductions, and she never knew how to handle herself among strangers. Well everyone here wasn't particularly a stranger, they'd all survived the disaster that had been the sorting ceremony. Syd still hadn't quite gotten that smell out of her nose, and those brand new robes had been ruined. Of course it hadn't made it any better when she'd been sorted into the exact same house as one of the culprits. Oh well, she thought, she really needed to loosen up.
