Slowing down once she realized that there were students were already inside, Layla took the seat closest to the door and slowly took out her writing materials and raising an eyebrow on what appeared to be part of the day's lesson. The more she stepped into each class, she started to feel a bit better. She was familiar with the material, but she realized that she needed to work on her wandwork.
She had always done fairly... plus Drew had said he's help if she needed it. So far, she wasn't sure if she needed to take him up on that...

Drew was a little surprised when the new Huffle prefect spoke to him. Drew wasn't exactly sure why, but Cronon had always been a little cool towards him. The guy seemed decent enough, was a good friend of Felicity's, and Drew really saw no reason why they couldn't get along, so the Ravenclaw just didn't get it.
Nonetheless, Drew answered back with his own crooked smile, and motioned to the free seat next to him. "Nope. S'all yours," he told Alexander. Drew was used to sitting next to Hiro or Charlie... or Seanna, Tristan.... and now Layla or Felicity. But with all of them unavailable, Drew didn't mind sharing a desk with Alexander.

Another entered the classroom and sat to herself in the back; the movement caught in the corner of Alexander's eye made him glance up briefly as if anxious about something. Really, he had just wondered who had walked in. It was a wasted effort, however, for it wasn't anyone he, himself, was familiar with. Looking back at Drew, Alexander caught the smile and the gesture of the seat. Well, things could be worse.
"Thanks," he said taking the seat out and sitting down next to the Ravenclaw. He got his books out and such, placing them on the desk and said nothing. It was awkward, not knowing what to think of the person decided to sit next to, and so, Alexander didn't think. Well...not about anything they both didn't know about that is..."So that chum, Piper... from the Prefect's meeting... what the hell was his deal?" An eyebrow arched, Alexander crossed his arms over his chest. "I meant to ask you before... Most didn't even seem as if they met the kid before. Not that I have either... but still." Alexander hadn't liked the guy's vibe he was putting off... there was just something off about him.

Drew snorted at Alexander's choice of wording. The Ravenclaw could think of many more suitable names for that particular Slytherin.
"I don't know. Some guys are just jerks," he answered, again, thinking there were a number of better names. Drew just didn't want it getting back to Felicity that he was using that kind of language. "He shows up to classes every once in a while, but keeps to himself. He must be better than the rest of us or something," he finished with a smirk.

"Oh yes," Alexander said chuckling as sarcasm dripped off his every word. "I mean, when he graced the compartment I just wanted to bow down at his feet. It was like I almost couldn't help myself." Again, Alexander laughed, snorting slightly as he tried to stifle it and yet couldn't help it. Better than the rest of them? Then Piper had a real lesson to learn in life. Not many would take that kind of attitude. "I just want to know what his Head of House was thinking," Alexander rolled his eyes. "I mean, not that I'm like the best either...but usually Prefects are there to help people." He shook his head and then remembered Rolen. The guy disgusted him to no limits.
...."nevermind, I take that back." He filtered his hand through his hair and shook his head. "Rolen was Prefect last year. Almost forgot with how much I ignored that guy."

Drew gave another snort in agreement. Piper's attitude was why Drew had told the guy to leave. What good would it be to have an attitude like that there when they had stuff to do? Any other House and he was sure the Head would do something about it, but with Van Aller in charge of Slytherin, the Head Boy figured little would be done. The Professor would probably say Drew had been the disrespectful one to begin with.
"Rolen..." Drew echoed with yet another snort. "What a joke. Glad to see Huffle finally got some decent guys in there." Drew turned back to his notes, wondering if he had just totally sounded gay saying that? Dang, he sure hoped Cronon didn't get the wrong idea.

Had Drew just complimented him? Alexander's raised an eyebrow and nodded his head. That was a shock to the Hufflepuff, but coming from Felicity's boyfriend...not to mention the Head Boy, actually said that he was decent. Nice? Alexander was slightly suspicious, but he wasn't complaining either way. "Yea," he paused wondering what was the correct way to thank the guy. "You're telling me." Ok, so it wasn't the best way say a polite 'thank you' but Alexander was sure that Drew got the point.....right? Alexander fidgeted in his chair and scratch his head. He was so lame...

Charms. The bread and butter of magic and wizardry. Fairly easy class for Guy, he neither struggled nor tried very hard to pass the O.W.L. exams two years previously. As he walked into the class to discover that it would be a combined class with the sixth years. That was cool, maybe he'd be able to check up and see if Celina was there... Of course she would be there, though, she was in Ravenclaw and had probably passed all of her exams like the studious girl she was. It was an endearing quality in the girl. He didn't know her too much but she was nice all the same.
" Professor. " He said with a wave to the man as he walked by him. Guy made his way to the middle of the classroom and randomly sat down. He had been about to start whistling when he spotted the Ravenclaw girl. " Hey, Celina. How was your summer? " He asked the girl politely, and nodded his greeting to the guy she was talking to. He couldn't quite remember who he was, but suspected he was a sixth year along with Celina.

Suppose it is, Celina had said to Connor, resuming her examining of the sheet and such. Celina just hoped that whatever charm they were learning that day would not only be helpful, but less dangerous that what some were that could be used in dueling. Celina really wasn’t in the mood to practice combat of any sort, nor did she like the idea of fighting any ways, even if it was just for play. She shrugged and went back to say something more to Connor as another voice called out her name slightly. Her smile brightened as she recognized the voice and turned around to see a bit behind him.
“Guy! How are you?” Celina softly exclaimed, as she hadn’t yet been able to see or talk to her Gryffindor friend. Celina really didn’t know Guy that well, but from what she did know of him he seemed to be a really great person. Not to mention, Celina loved his kitten…she couldn’t help but have a soft spot for other’s pets, too. “My summer went well,” she slightly lied, but she would admit the good points it did have she wouldn’t have traded for the world. “What about yours?”
Her eyes briefly glanced over to Connor and an exasperated ‘oh’ left her vocals. “Connor, have you met Guy Styles before?” She turned her head and smiled still, the small dimple on her left cheek was purely visible. “Guy, this is my friend Connor,” she turned back to Connor. “Connor, this is my friend Guy.” She giggled and then a light blush rose to her face as she shied away from the two guys and rolled her eyes at herself. She was such a dork…

" Well, you're here now so I'm sure it's fine. " He said with a small smile to the worrisome girl. Celina sure did care alot about missing one class, but Connor supposed it was just how the girl was. He found it kind of nice that she cared so much, though. He didn't really think that he would be so bothered by missing one class, but then again it had been a rather important one at the time. ' I supposed it is. Connor nodded his head as he looked back to the sheet, wondering when class would begin. He didn't mind chatting with Celina, in fact he enjoyed it, he was just curious as to when the lesson would begin.
He was a little startled by the arrival of someone else, someone talking to Celina. He gave a small nod to the older guy, having trouble remembering who he was. Connor watched the exchange of conversation and busied himself with looking over some old notes. He didn't want to be in the way of their conversation when it was obvious that they knew one another. He looked up as he heard Celina say his name. " Hm? " He hmmed lightly before realizing what she had said to him. " Oh, no I don't think so. Nice to meet ya. " He said, offering his hand out to the older student to shake.

He grinned at the Ravenclaw, it as good to know that she was happy to see him. " Good, I'm good. You? We still have to plan our jam session, remember? " He asked, knowing that she would remember but asking all the same, his smile still in place. " Summer was a bummer, but what can ya do? " He said rather rhetorically with a half shrug and a laugh at his rhyme. Summer had been uneventful for him, but he couldn't complain too much. The only reaaaaallly bad part about his summer had been that he broke his skateboard the day that he was leaving for Hogwarts. But he had gotten a new one the other day, so all was well.
As Celina introduced him to the Slytherin dude, Guy nodded and said, " Hey, man. How's it goin'? " He asked, shaking the dude's hand. He wasn't too into formalities, he would have much preferred a more casual high five, but hand shaking was all right. He dropped his hands back down to the table and tapped his fingers lightly on the table in true drummers fashion.
" Hey, so what's this lesson on anyway? " He asked out loud, remembering it was on something... How unspecific of him, but he couldn't remember. Oh well.

The Sixth/Seventh Year class started to get a little loud with chatter. He liked that, actually. Meant they were awake and suprised. Checking the time, he noticed only a minute left to start the class. He sighed and stood up from his chair. Walking past the desk, he walked towards the dummy and patted the covered part of its head. He looked around the classroom, seeing them happy, laughing, and socializable. Maybe keeping them for 3/4 of year was a good thing.
He did feel sad about one particular student though. Felicity. Her leaving class last year, really upsetted him. But, she her going through the Deva Invasion more than anything else, he couldn't blame her. He tried to help her with the O.W.Ls, but he wasn't sure if she even wanted to do it. Got the results, she didn't make the NEWTs. He actually wanted to give her another chance. He was going to have to talk to her soon.
He cleared his through, and started to smile. "Class will begin in a minute. So, is anyone ready for the lesson today?" he said with a grin wondering.

She would never admit this to anyone but Angel loved the first day of classes. That probably made her a big nerd but she didn't care classes were fun, learning new things to make her a better witch well that was always worth it. So she walked into her Charms classroom ready and willing to learn. Entering she looked around for a prime seat and well in all her Ravenclaw fashion she found herself a seat up front. Some people minded the front but not her she rather enjoyed it, plus professors did enjoy picking on those who ran straight to the back of the room.
Sitting she placed her bag down on the ground next to her before looking up and smiling at the professor. Then she opened the bag taking out what she'd need for today's lesson which were her wand, parchment, text, and quill. Yes that too made her predictable, she was always prepared but that didn't bother her one bit. Sitting she waited for class to begin.

DONG! The bell rang and it was time for class to begin. He cleared his thoart, as he knew this was the harder class. He sighed as shut the door, and opened his mouth. "Alright, everyone. Hope you had a good summer," he said chuckling, being nice like always. "Well, some of you may recall the Sonorus and Quietus charm. Can anyone of you tell me the difference between Sonorus and Quietus?" he asked as he had wondered a lot. Though he knew the Seventh Years would all pop out this answer, unless most of them were already sleeping and dozing off in class. Which he had hope not. ((CLASS HAS BEGUN! Role-play as if you been here, if your late, or face the consquences )

So they were starting off easy. Drew didn't think the question was too taxing, even for the first day and gave it a shot.
"Sonorus, from the Latin word meaning loud, well, makes your voice louder, almost like using a megaphone," the Ravenclaw started off. "And then so Quietus, from the Latin word meaning quiet, returns your voice to normal after a Sonorus."
