"Oh, absolutely!" Celina manged to say to Guy about their jam session with his drums and her harp before class started to settle into the lesson. Before turning around, she gave Guy one last smile and and excited sort of squeal. She couldn't wait to try and 'rock out' with him. It was going to be so much fun! "Connor...do you pay any instruments?" she asked softly as Snow began to lecture. She was quiet after that and paying attention, but she glanced over at the Slytherin for a head nod or shake just the same. A smile still plastered on her face, she sighed and started to take notes on what was being said.
As Snow asked his starter question, Celina opened her mouth and yet Drew's voice seemed to beat her to the punch. She'd have to be quicker next time, and she wrote down what Drew said shutting her mouth and nodded all the same. Ravens were bright and quick...no doubt about that.

After hearing Drew's best explanation of what the two spells were. He nodded in correct.
"Very well done, Drew. 5 points to Ravenclaw," he said with a smile as he scratched his head. "Well, if you any of you want to know, these spells are usually used when something in dire need of it. The Headmistress uses it sometimes, as you can hear. But, you are probably wondering? Is it easy. Well, today you will practice and master it!" he said as he put his hand ontop of the sheet of the covered figure. "Welcome back, LARRY!" he said as he pulled the sheet of the figure.
"Not a mannequin, though. Larry is a little bit more robotic now. But, it's a test to see if you have mastered it. But, I have noticed, that while using the charm in this classroom will blow our eardrums right out of the rutter. So, I ask to put these on," he said as ear-muffs appeared on each desk for each person.
As everyone else, or hopefully everyone else, had their ear-muffs on, he put his on as well. "Let's try it out, shall we? You placed the wand on your neck," he said as he pointed the wand on the skin of his neck. "And say, 'SONORUS!'," he said.
Then he said. "AND THAT'S HOW YOU USE THE SONORUS CHARM," he said as he voice was louder than a Mandrake and his voice could probably be heard from 1/2 of the school maybe. Then the robotic Larry's eyes were widen and the meter went red, which meant he mastered it, if were a student.,"AND WHEN YOU WANT TO YOUR VOICE TO GO BACK TO NORMAL. SAY 'QUIETUS!'," he said as his voice dropped back to normal.
"Now," he said laughing. "Anyone care to try it out first?" he asked with a grin. He could see some faces that were terrified and shocked, while some were amazed, and while some were annoyed.

Larry was back, but he was more of a robotic person. Tristan couldn't but laugh. "Wow, I suppose Larry got a paint job," he said not sure of what he was saying. But then ear-muffs appeared on to the desk and he laughed. He loved ear-muffs, and as soon as they appeared, he grabbed them instantly and equipped them. "WHOA!" he said as he couldn't hear what he just said. Everything was about soundproofed through these ear-muffs.
"AND THAT'S HOW YOU USE THE SONORUS CHARM,"
Wow, that was really loud through the ear-muffs. The voice sounded like Jesus's voice trying to talk to you or something. He wasn't even yelling, just talking normal. He had to try out this charm.
"Anyone care to try it out first?"
"ME! ME!" he begged as his hand rose and jumped up from his seat. His ear-muffs were already off when he said Quietus. But he was ready.

Angel had been sitting there pretty quiet as usual. The bell finally rang and that meant that class would start which was fine with her because she needed to take her mind off of her thoughts. They were starting out pretty simple dicussing the Sonorus and Quietus charms. She remembered hearing about them and was thinking of giving an answer but true to form another Ravenclaw beat her to it. Drew answered it and earned their house five points. Angel was glad that he did and even more glad that the points were going to her own house.
Now the professor tried the charms on himself which Angel rather enjoyed since most professors were quick to get you to do it first. The effect was interesting thought she was lax to think of when she would need it. Ah, perhaps at home with her family sometimes they never let her talk. Then he asked if someone wanted to try it out first. That time she had no problem not raising her hand. Someone else did though Tristan the Gryffindor was all for trying. It was a bit too enthusiastic even for her but to each their own.

Caleb was trying to play it cool, being all incognito in the back of the classroom. He saw with his head down, his arms folded under his chin as he watched all the others enter the classroom. He saw Layla again, but she had taken a seat right near the door. Caleb found himself watching her, ignoring the rest of the world. He drifted off into a kind of daze, his eyes watching her until the professor started the lesson. The sudden booming of his voice brought Caleb back into the world and he nearly leaped out of his seat. He felt his cheeks warm up as they turned a light shade of pink and he glanced around, hoping no one saw him jump like that. Finally, the boy turned his attention to the professor, trying to keep his eyes forward.

Charms was actually one of Josh's strong areas. He'd always been good at it, although he would never admit it or try to show off how good he was. And when the professor asked who wanted to try it out, Josh only dug his hands deeper into his pockets to keep his leap-before-you-think kind of mind from making his arm shoot up in the air. That happened a lot; his brain making him do things that he really didn't want to do. Josh was glad when another boy in the class made a ruckus about doing it first, so he wouldn't even have a chance of doing something stupid.

Sitting back and watching the class start, Layla had taken her slow, neat and even notes. She hadn't even noticed a very distracted Hufflepuff while she tried to keep up. She grinned when the earmuffs materialized for each student and Layla promptly put hers on, watching the demonstration. She quickly put her hands on the earmuffs again, securing them in place. The Professor's voice was so loud that she felt they would fall off!
The mannequin was kind of creepy, and Layla applauded her seat choice, and watched her classmates volunteer.

Charms was another class that Lucas enjoyed. Although a nerd like him enjoyed all his classes, Charms was one of the best in his opinion. The Sonorus and Quietus charms were two that were fairly simple, as well as pretty interesting. When classes weren't boring, Lucas was pretty sure everybody enjoyed them. Charms had always been one that wasn't often boring and today, especially with the enthusiasm of one Gryffindor boy, this class didn't seem like it would be boring.

" Oh, yeah. " Connor responded to Guy with a light smile on his face. He could tell from the Gryffindor's accent that he had either been born in or had lived in the States for a long time. He couldn't tell where, but it sounded a bit like a West Coast accent. Connor had lived in Key West, Florida until he was eleven yeard of age, so he too had a bit of a hodge podge accent.
Connor found himself zoning out again as the older guy asked Celina something about a jam session. He didn't know what he meant by that, but was pleased when Celina turned back to him and said, ' Connor...do you pay any instruments? ' He shook his head in response, stating, " Nah. I've always wanted to pick up the guitar, but I've never really had the time. " He shrugged his shoulders slightly. The class was beginning. He had wanted to remind Celina that she still needed to play her harp for him some time, but now wasn't the time for such conversations.
He listened to Professor Snow with interest. He already knew a fair bit about the Sonorus and Quietus charms, but still found them interesting.

Seeing the students excited and thrilled about this lesson, he sighed. Atleast it was something good for a start of the year. Asking still who wanted to try out the spells, the first person that yelled, was Tristan Howard. The blonde-dyed Seventh Year Prefect from Gryffindor. Remarkable kid, yet, special in his own way. Nothing wrong with that, everyone else was like that. But he sighed and smiled at the same time.
"Ok, Mr. Howard. Try it out," he said as he plopped on his ear-muffs. Hopefully the sound wave won't destroy the classroom or destroy anything for that matter.
