The Classroom was dark, and the only thing you could see is the desks. You couldn't see the professor or his desk, but the desks that the students needed to be in. Why was the room dark? Today they were going to learn how to light up the darkness, and how to dim down the light. It was like a torch really, just something you can say "ON" and "OFF" quickly, rather taking 5 minutes of your time reliting the torch and reliting again. But the students were going to learn it good today.
However, at them being young, it was going to take awhile for them to learn Lumos, as it deals with thinking strong and your strength. They were knew to LEARNING magic, not seeing it. But seeing it at home, a few exceptional might know what it was.

After learning that Gryffindor now had more than one house point, Izzy's step had some bounce in it as she made her way down to the Charms Classroom from Gryffindor Tower. The lions were still in last place, but at least they had more than just one point. She had actually been embarrassed to wear her red and gold tie around the school for a few days, but that was no longer the case. She was too determined to be embarrassed - the lions now had fifty-four points, and that number would only go up from there... she hoped. Surely everyone in the house of Godric Gryffindor would be on their best behavior now. She knew that she would be.
As she neared the classroom, her pace slowed greatly. The door was open, but the lights were out. Had the professor cancelled class? If so, Izzy hadn't gotten the notice. Turning around and going back to the Gryffindor Common Room crossed her mind, but what if the professor was just running late? The first year still wasn't sure what the consequences were for missing a class, and she didn't want to be the one to find out. It couldn't hurt to stay for a little bit. If no one came after maybe ten minutes, then Izzy would leave. Until then, she'd sit at her desk and wait.
So she entered the classroom, and immediately felt the wall to her right for the light switch. After a few seconds of finding absolutely nothing, Izzy brought her hand to the wall on the left of the door where she was sure the light switch would be... but it wasn't. The Gryffindor furrowed her eyebrows, wondering where in the world the light switch was... The girl had no idea that electricity didn't exist in the Wizarding World, even though her mother was a witch.
After a few more minutes of searching for the non-existant light switch, Izzy gave up and made her way over to the seat closest to the door, where she could have as much light as possible. She placed her supplies for the class down on the desk and then sat in the chair, where she waited quietly for something - anything - to happen.
