A long mat was placed in the middle of the classroom. What was going on? Why is there a mat? The lesson of the day was to learn what Rictusempra and Serpensortia was. The third years were going to learn how to use this if they ever needed it. Hopefully they wouldn't have to. This was more of a DADA lesson today, but it was on the syllabus, so what matters? The desks were adjacent to the walls, so no one would be sitting in a desk today, they will be standing near the mat. Another thing was, that the third and fourth years were going to be combined today. What more fun.
But he was ready. And he stood by the door outside waiting for the students. He saw numerous of students walking around in the hallways. The third and fourth years better not miss this lesson today.

Karina was actually excited for charms class so long as she wouldn't just sit there and take notes all day long. It would be such a drag if there was abig long lecture with the sound of quills scribbling feverishly across parchment; there are only two word for that which is: nap time. Bag slung lazily across her shoulder, Kari climbed down the stairs to the fifth floor and turned into the corridor where the classroom was.
Their professor was already standing outside of the room as Kari came out of the mess of rushing students. "Hello professor." she nodded happily but once she stepped inside the thirteen year old was glad to find the desks alined by the walls and a long mat standing in the center of the empty space. Sweet, by the look of things this was going to be a practical lesson. But what were they going to do?

Jax was there. What more did anyone really want?
Actually, if it was a class that involved using a wand, Jax wouldn't miss it for the world! The third year Raven walked cockily to the class, hands shoved in her pockets and her lucky baseball cap on backwards as always. Underneath, her hair wasn't styled...but why would she? It wasn't as if no one hadn't seen it all fluffed up or hat ridden before. Not that Jax really cared about the way she looked...that was unless she was spending time alone with a particular Gryffindor.
Unfortunately, as she walked by the professor, Snake was no where to be seen. All of her classes since the invasion had been combined with the older years and she figured it was for security reasons. This class wasn't any different...but Snake herself was no where to be found. What a drag...Jax let out a huge sigh and walked in the room.
Desks aligned against the walls and a big mat in the way, Jax wondered if they'd be doing some kind of dream charm where they would be getting to sleep on the map. Though she wanted to use her wand, Jax found herself pretty tired. Long nights thinking about....well, she didn't have to get into that then...now did she.

Tianne lazily got out of bed. She hated charms, for no reason at all. It was just that she never had fun, and that she always was put by herself, and she never had any friends to make it better. Her day hadn't started that well either. She had gotten up early, showered and went for a jog, only to slip over in a pool of muddy water. Her favourite blue tracksuit was drenched and muddy, and her hair... well... don't get me started. She dressed in her robes and brushed her hair, which was frizzy. Tianne decided to do something she had not done in a while, and straightened her hair. She massaged a leavein conditioner into her hair, and brushed it, making it sleek and shiny. The teenager pulledit up into a ponytail, and walked out of the dorms. She grabbed her over-the-shoulder bag, full of textbooks, quills and ink, and put a spell on it so it levitated behind her wherever she went. Tianne made her way to the charms classroom and put her sutff down on a table in the back corner. She smiled at the professor as she walked by him, but still sat down in a huff. She couldn't wait for her friends to get here.

Terrah hurried down the hall, worried that she might be late to Charms. She had stopped at her room to drop off some of the books she wouldn't be needing, and she was afraid she'd spent more time in her room than she should have. Once she skidded to a stop in the doorway to the classroom, she saw that she shouldn't have worried- there weren't many students here yet. She took a deep breath and entered the classroom, and saw the desks pushed against the walls. Terrah spied the long mat in the middle of the classroom, and thought 'We're going to be tossing each other around today, aren't we...'

"In all my years of teaching..... which really, this is my first. But still, in all my months of teaching. I do not believe that only the four of you came to class today. Wow, +10 points to the each of you for participating today, good job," he said as he walked towards the mat.
"Today, you will be doing a friendly duel today. Only with these hexes that you will learn today. You guys will learn how to disarm yourselves. Yes, this is more of a DADA lesson, but this is serious," he said. He then went to a target. "Watch, and learn," he said as he pulled out his wand. He got into his disarming stance. "Rictusempra!" he yelled as the disarming charm went flying towards the mannequin, hitting it, yet doing nothing. "If that was a real person, it would laughing uncontroalby," he said. He then sighed about the next one.
"This next charm, I do not really want you using this today. Really in the duel, your just going to learn Rictusempra. But this charm is most awful," he said as he pulled his wand out. "Serpensortia!" he yelled as a snake-like went flying on the mat swirvling around. "Be calm. It. Won't. Bite." he said as he waited until one of them said something.
((Class has begun, if you want to post in, you must be late))

"A-are you sure about that, Professor?" Terrah asked quietly. She didn't exactly like snakes. Sure, she was okay with pictures of snakes in books, or if they were mentioned in a story... But a real live snake, one with fangs, and possibly poison? Terrah got the feeling she wouldn't be performing this charm very often at all. The snake hissed at nobody in particular, and Terrah jumped a little. "I don't think it likes us," she said quietly, slowly edging away from the mat.

The lesson sounded interesting but that rictusempra spell didn't look like it did much. Perhaps it just didn't work on dummies which would make a lot more sense. However making a snake appear out of your wand was cool! Kari didn't really mind the snake but it did not seem to friendly as the other raven stated correctly. Just to be safe, she backed away as well. Also how much use would making a snake appear if you are dueling someone. Wouldn't they be able to just zap it away or something. Ya, Kari was just going to stick with spells that actually hit.

Ryan laughed. Again, the boy had left getting ready too late. He lazily tied his red and yellow tie around his neck, and looked at his reflection in the mirror. Ryan ruffled up his hair, an pushed up his sleeves. He was beginning to like this uniformed look. The gryffindor slung his bag, packed with parchment, books and ink, and began to leave the dorms. The common room was again tidy, much different to what it had been the previous night. As Ryan left the Gryffindor house, he smiled. Today was going to be good, and Ryan knew it.
The boy suspected he was already running very late, but that didn't make him hurry up. Instead, the boy dawdled down the stairs to the fifth floor, and smiled as he walked in the door. "Hey Professor, how ya doin'?" he said, with full knowledge of his tardiness. "Do I get that 10 points, or will I have to earn it later." Ryan walked up to where Tianne was sitting, and plonked himself to the left of her. "Hey Tee. How you doin'? He muttered. Well, the boy was already going to get into trouble for being late, and mucking up was just a thing the boy did; he could not help it.

Awesome! Jax got down on all fours to go over to the snake that wouldn't bite. The professor said it wouldn't so petting it was definitely something Jax wanted to try. As she did so, it snapped and hiss, but maybe she wasn't close enough to it. "Ah, that's so cool!" Jax said, not even caring about the other's reservations about anything. She looked up at the professor, no longer paying any attention to the snake as another walked in.
Jax turned to the kid and rolled her eyes. Some people...then again, what did she care? She had ten points just for being there that day. That was sweet by itself. She wondered why Snake wasn't around, but she figured she'd see her later. Slowly, Jax began to stand. "So, dueling? No sweat..." Jax said, her French accent coming through as she was thinking about what spells she would use. Or did they have to stick with just the ones he wanted?
Oh...she really hoped not.

He then killed the snake. "Now, that was easy enough. What I really want you to do is practice the 'Rictusempra' charm. They are straw dummy targets around the class. Practice now, you will be graded. And if you do it right, we'll have a friendly duel. Now go, pick a dummy," he said as he walked by a corner to observe the class and their abilities. This lesson wasn't fun, but he needed to teach them. Rictusempra was the only charm really what they needed to know. Serpensortia, they would have to see again later.
