On the door, a note said: Sixth Years, go the Grounds for class today

Drew had gotten up to the class and read the note. Why professors insisted on making them walk all the way up to class only to leave a note sending them back down was incomprehensible. Would it really be so hard to let them know the previous class? Or send owls? Or have everyone meet up at the class and then walk down? Drew didn't know.
Nonetheless, he kipped a spot on the floor, leaning his back against the door. Sure, most of the sixth years would read the note and go down to the meeting place (where exactly, Drew wasn't sure, given the grounds were pretty huge) but there was one person who probably wouldn't be reading the note and Drew thought he'd wait for him.

A ton of stairs and he was about to get to charms class. One class that he had excelled on when it came to the OWLs. Alexander had been pleased, as well as was Patricia Cronon. His father wasn't much for knowing what the OWLs were or what an 'O' had even meant but his mother had said it was something to be proud of, even if he couldn't excell in any of his other classes. His wand being messed up...Alexander rolled his eyes. Not hardly. It was more his ambition wasn't willing to accept his future as anything more than the muggle that he had wanted to be from day one. Now, any more though....something else ticked within him. There was a thirst for knowledge that he rarely ever had. Alexander figured it wouldn't last long, but he should at least try hard to begin with...maybe it would make up for the slacking he did later on.
As he finally reached the door to the classroom, yet again his luck prevailed as he noticed a particular Ravenclaw boy sitting against the door to the classroom. Puzzled like, Alexander saw the note and was slightly annoyed. "What...in Merlin's sake...." he grunted to himself. "You'd think they'd tell us before we're about to be late to class....I'll never make it before....and I bet you this new guy's a real stickler for attendance....damnit...." Alexander was more or less grumbling to himself, but for someone who didn't like classes much to begin with, and then when he does want to go to class, he's stopped and stuff like a note?! Some adults had nerve. But what was Drew waiting for? Did he dare ask? Alexander sighed. "You going to class then?" he asked him, wondering if the Prefect would actually skip his class.

Of course Drew would go to class, but not just yet. He excelled in Charms... anything that involved a wand, really... and while he was pretty sure the professor would be teaching things Drew had already figured out, he liked the class most of the time.
"Waiting for Hiro," Drew answered with a small shrug at Alex's question. The other prefect was probably with Charlie and she could read the note to him if that was the case, but why take the chance. "Sometimes he shows up late when the professors leave notes."

"Ah," Alexander nodded. Hiro was one he hadn't met but had heard, and read about in the school's paper. If Alexander remembered correctly again, he too was a Ravenclaw Prefect. And that would be his cue to leave. All he needed was two Ravenclaw boys making a fuss with him. Avoidance was the name of that game for sure, and as indirect as it sounded...it did save Alexander to fight another day normally. "Very good, then. I suppose I'll see you around." And with that, Alexander turned to walk down the stairs...he had to get there before class started.
All the way to the grounds....what in bloody hell.

"Hey... Alex!" Drew called after the Huffleboy, not sure if he trusted the guy enough to ask a favor, but feeling like he had no other option save for sending the Professor a message by patronus.
"Can... can you tell Snow that we'll be there? Explain why we're late if that's the case?" he asked, hoping that if the Ravenclaws did end up being late, that the professor would realize it was his own dang fault for leaving a silent note for a blind kid.

The sudden calling of an abreviated form of his name, Alexander almost missed a step as he started down the stairs. Grabbing onto the railing, so that he didn't fall, he turned back around not knowing whether to comply with the request or correct the boy about his name. So, he decided to do both. "Umm...yea, no problem. Oh, but....on one condition..." Alexander trailed off and paused for a moment to let the Prefect think that Alexander was going to ask something huge from him. It wasn't that though, he was just about to correct him.
"It's Alexander....not Alex," Alexander smirked, but you could tell he was serious as he turned back around, time to get to class.

"Alexander... sorry... got it," Drew answered with a sheepish grin. He personally wasn't particular about using his full name, but thought he understood the Huffle's preference all the same. Drew really hated when people called him Andy.
"Thanks," Drew continued, feeling better that at least now the Professor would be aware of what had happened. Hopefully Hiro would show up and they'd make it in time anyway.

Now that he had some food in his stomach and some time to rest Hiro had to make his way up to the fifth floor for his next class. It was way up but at least he was refreshed from the break. Now he just needed to get to the class before it started and from here on it would be smooth sailing. Just a few more steps and he was there.

Drew had been keeping an eye open for Hiro and saw him coming down the hall towards the class. Scrambling to his feet and gathering his stuff, Drew jogged to meet him. Hey, why should anyone have to walk all that way if he didn't have to, right?
"We're down on the grounds for this one," Drew told his housemate. "Durn professors and their dang notes on the door..."

"Figures." Hiro replied to his co-prefect. Now he was going to be late for sure, it took him some time to move around with his walking cane and now he had to go back down stairs. "Why can't professors tell us in class the day before?"

"Exactly what I was wondering," Drew answered, thinking that unless they just winged it every day they would know where they were going to hold class. It ws bad enough to walk all the way to class when it was History or Defence, but it was sure a pain in the butt to walk up five flights only to go back down again. "Of course, I hope this guy actually teaches something," Drew said. The last guy hadn't done much of anything. {posting in the grounds }
