It was a little weird, being back at school. It was definitely a lot colder. Being used to the California sun, Jeremy didn't really do well with the sudden cold. The huge, drafty castle wasn't really doing anything to help the situation. Yet there he was again, wandering the halls like a lost puppy, wrapped up in a sweater with a long-sleeved shirt and a t-shirt underneath and a pair of warm pants. He had nothing better to do yet so he was out, wandering.
The corridors seemed longer than Jeremy remembered. It seemed to take him more time to reach the end of it. As he walked along, Jeremy kept glancing over his shoulder, sure that someone was there. It didn't feel like he was being followed, really, just that there was someone, or something, there. Finally, Jeremy back- tracked to an empty classroom he'd passed to see if there was someone in there that he had missed.

Hogwarts. That one word seemed to send a trickle of anticipation down Connor's spine as he thought about it. He had been so used to Beauxbaton's and how things were run, the classes and his peers. But now he was here. He found himself wandering alot in those few days since he had arrived at the castle. He wanted to know everything, where the classes were, what the other students did in their spare time. He was curious by nature so it was no suprised to him as he was wondering about the castle once again. It had been during dinner that Connor slipped off on his own to find his way around. He wanted to make sure he knew where his classes for the next day were, he hated being late or lost. It was one of his pet peeves.
Walking along a fifth floor corridor Connor pulled the hoodie of his sweatshirt over his head, feeling a slight draft as he walked. He could hear someone walking and ducked into a classroom, unsure of whether or not he felt like having company right now. He raised himself onto one of the desks and sat down, swinging his feet out of nothing else to do with them. He was thinking about home and how much he missed his sister ever since she had left. Not that it mattered too much, seeing as how he was at Hogwart's anyway. He let out a sigh, and upon hearing footsteps approaching the classroom, Connor looked up expectantly. Seeing someone he didn't recognize, ( as if he would, being so new ) Connor only said, " Hi. " He was relatively shy when it came to meeting new people.

"Oh, hi," Jeremy replied with a smile, noticing the boy who was sitting in the room. The Hufflepuff leaned against the door frame, his eyes looking over the boy. As much as he didn't want to, Jeremy couldn't help but think God, he's cute. Flashing the boy a smile, Jeremy figured it was only polite to introduce himself. This was a boy that he hadn't met yet and Jeremy really wanted to get to know some more people around the school. "I'm Jeremy. Hufflepuff sixth year," he told him, coming into the classroom a little more, "What's your name?"

Connor glanced the other boy over as he watched him lean against the door frame. He could feel the boy's eyes on him and it made him smile slightly. As he returned the boy's smile he still felt somewhat shy around him. He pushed himself off of the desk and walked over to the boy, " Hi, Jeremy. I'm Connor Manning, Slytherin fifth year. " He held his hand out to the Hufflepuff to shake, twitching his head slightly to get his long hair out of his hazel eyes as he looked at the guy. Not all that bad, looking, He thought with a shy smile.
" So what're you do roaming around here, then? " He asked curiously, brushing his hair out his eyes now with his hand.

"Nice to meet you, Conner," Jeremy replied, shaking the boy's hand as he held it out for him. The Huffle noticed the boy's smile and he couldn't help but smile back again. The colour was rising in his cheeks and he could tell they were turning light pink. As Connor flicked his hair out of his eyes and Jeremy got a good look at them, he was shocked for a moment. His eyes were gorgeous. He was so caught in them for a moment that he hadn't even noticed Conner was speaking to him.
"Oh, uhh..." he stuttered before regaining some composure, "I was just...bored. What about you?"

Connor nodded his head slightly and said, " And you, Jeremy. " After shaking the Huffle's hand he placed his own by his side. He noticed a light blush making it's way across Jeremy's cheeks and he couldn't help himself as his smile grew slightly. He wondered what had caused it, but didn't want to pry and ask him straight out. As Connor felt Jeremy's eyes on his, he felt himself checking the boy out again. Stop it. He told himself, arguing that Jeremy probably wasn't even interested. A light grin worked its way across Connor's lips as the guy before him stuttered slightly, he seemed to recover himself slightly and then answer. He lowered the hoodie on his sweatshirt and shook his hair out, trying to get it to look less messy.
When he was done fussing over his hair, he said, " I.. was bored as well. Plus I really don't know anyone yet, so sticking around and socializing wasn't really my fancy. " He told Jeremy with a half shrug. " Wannasitdown? " He asked, his voice rushed. Looking embarassed he then cleared his throat and said, " Erm. Want to sit down? " He motioned to the desks or the floor, either or he didn't care really.

"Yeah sure," Jeremy chuckled with a light laugh. He entered the classroom and sat down on the desk that the other boy had been sitting on previously. Flashing Connor another smile, the American Hufflepuff patted the desk next to him for the Slytherin to come sit. "So you're new here?" he asked curiously. Jeremy hadn't seen him before (he would have remembered if he had) but that didn't really mean much. Jeremy didn't exactly know a lot of people. He just assumed that Connor was new, as he said he didn't know many people either. So far, they had at least that in common.

Connor grinned slightly, over his momentary embarassment. As Jeremy patted the desk nect to him, Connor walked over and sat himself upon the desk. Out of slight nervousness he bit down lightly on his bottom lip, tugging lightly on his lip ring with his teeth. As the Huffle asked him if he was new, Connor nodded. " Yeah. I went to Beauxbatons before this, so it's a total change. " Usually Connor would try to hide his mixture of accents that were French and also British, but sitting with Jeremy he didn't really mind. He noted Jeremy's accent was different, something he didn't her quite often and figured that he must be from America. " Where're you from? " He asked, equally curious. Connor had been born in Florida, but at the age of eleven they had decided to move to France.

"Wow, Beauxbatons," Jeremy repeated in awe. He'd heard of the school and heard about the kind of people that went there but he'd never met anyone from it before. He noticed Connor's odd accent as well and was about to as him where he was from the the Slytherin shot the question first. Jeremy chuckled softly and his eyes flicked down to Connor's lip for a moment as he noticed the ring. The Hufflepuff shifted in his seat slightly.
"California," he answered, his eyes occasionally flicking down to Connor's lip again," What about you? You've got an interesting accent."

Connor grinned at Jeremy's awe of him attending Beauxbatons. A couple of people had reacted as such, but he still found it strange. To him it was just Beauxbatons where he had attended for years one through four, and part of five. Jeremy's chuckle made him laugh himself, he noticed with slight amusement that Jeremy noticed his lip ring and seemed to be looking at it every so often as he spoke.
Connor suddenly grew a little excited, " California? Eh. I was born in Florida, then moved to Paris, France. Then to London. So my accents a bit of a hodge-podge of all three. " He shrugged because he was used to it and kind of liked how his accents had all melded together after some time. " So, have you met any interesting people here so far? " He asked, because so far from the conversation it seemed that Jeremy either hadn't been here too long or just hadn't met very many people.

"One, so far," Jeremy joked, chuckling slightly and turning to face Connor. He winked at the boy, but regretted it a moment later, feeling his cheeks flush up again with colour. Oh, you're an idiot, the Hufflepuff scolded himself, So much for secrecy. Jeremy sighed slightly, contemplating making up some excuse to just get up and leave. However, when he looked back at Connor, he couldn't help but smile and figured he'd stay. What could it hurt, right?
"I don't actually know that many people here just yet," Jeremy explained, "Maybe we could stick together for a bit." The Huffle chewed on his lip nervously, wondering whether it had been a good idea to even say that.

Connor could feel his face growing warm as his cheeks turned a light pink in color. And all because of a wink? Yes, a wink. His hazel eyes dropped to the ground in a slightly confused state, but as he looked back up to Jeremy, he couldn't help himself but to smile. I guess now that that's out of the way.. He thought to himself with a half hearted shrug. " You're not really so bad yourself, " He said in a joking manner, despite the fact that he meant the compliment sincerely.
Connor found himself nodding before he even registered what the question has been. Just then he noticed the Huffle chewing on his lip and found it kind of... cute. Stick together? He wasn't too sure of what that entailed, but he was agreeing to it. " That sounds good. I've only met about three people so far.. and I think I've gotten lost about tha' many times as well. " He grinned slightly.

The colour deepened in Jeremy's cheeks as he noticed it on Connor too. And at his comment, Jeremy had to look away for a minute. Was Connor...flirting with him? Could he really be....? No, maybe not. But Jeremy couldn't deny the flicker of hope he had.
Jeremy had to laugh at that. He'd probably gotten lost more than three times on his first day at the school, and he still got lost, even now that he knew where lots of places were. It was only after he laughed that Jeremy realized Connor had agreed to sticking with him, at least for a while. "I can show you around to the places I'm sure haven't picked up and moved," the Huffle offered, "Can't guarantee I won't get us lost because it's bound to happen."

Connor nodded, " Thanks, " He chuckled at Jeremy's comment about not guaranteeing he wouldn't get them lost and said, " Oh, well, getting lost is all part of the adventure, I suppose. " He grinned slightly at the older boy as he said this.
Not wanting their conversation to simply consist of talking about getting lost and all, Connor had a sudden idea. He has used this tactic when meeting new people at Beauxbatons for the first time, so he figured he might as well use it now, too. " So, Jeremy.. If you could only use five words to describe yourself, what would they be? " He turned slightly so he was facing Jeremy. He wanted to see how he would react to being asked, that was usually one of the best parts of playing the ' game '. A slightly mischevious grin played on his lips as he waited.

A deep sigh escaped Jeremy as he thought for a moment. He didn't think he'd ever been asked that before and he didn't really know how to answer. But then he got an idea and counted the words off on his fingers. "I...am...not...really...sure. There, 5," Jeremy answered with a sly grin and a slightly laugh, "But seriously, I really don't know, Connor. Never really thought about that before."
Jeremy didn't want to just leave him with no answer, so he tried his best to come up with something. "Different, that's a good word," he told the boy after a moment with a sigh, "I'm definitely different than most people here. Quiet, I guess. Friendly. Guess I'm kinda outgoing, too. And trustworthy, that's a good one. I can certainly keep a secret." Jeremy rolled his eyes at that as he said it almost proudly. He had his own share of secrets that he had to keep, as well as the secrets of others.
"Now it's your turn," Jeremy said with a laugh, "Five words for you."
