Brittany had tucked her self away in the corner of a rather large window, with her bag sitting right below her. She was able to easily sit on the window sill and press her feet against the wall so that her legs were bent at a 90 degree angle. This made it a lot easier to write, instead of having to keep her head bent down. She had chosen this corridor because it was the least populated. It was a rare occasion that a large crowd came through and that was what made it the perfect place to plot study.
The girl had all of her attention focused into the piece of parchment that rested on a book against her knees. She had tied her hair up in a messy pony tail on the top of her head in order to keep it out of her eyes. The parchment itself was covered in a bunch of short phrases and various words that were arranged in a list. Brittany had used her red ink in order to keep the paper separated from her notes that she was supposed to be studying.
At the sound of footsteps the girl quickly covered the paper with a sheet of Potions notes that were sticking out of the top of her bag. Staring blankly at the notes in front of her, trying to figure out which lesson they were from, she ignored the footsteps as they came closer.

"All work and no play makes Brittany a dull girl..." Shay said mischieviously as she thought she crept up on the girl. It was amazing how many professors had work to be graded, sorted, or distributed, because they mostly made her do some of that. Unfortunately, nothing inspired her to really do the "teaching thing", but the facade had to be kept up. Yet thankfully she could yank herself away in time to find her Gryffindor sister, and more thankfully because she had to really talk to her.
"Heya, girl," Shay said as she leaned on a wall to face Brittany. She missed being that comfortable in the castle, and while she wanted to, she felt more of a guest than a former student.

"And since when have you ever known me to be dull?" Brittany retorted in mock insult.
She was relieved that it was only Shay and not a professor that had came around the corner. Carefully, she placed both sheets of parchment into a place in the book that she held. Setting that aside on the floor, she looked over the girl that stood in front of her. Soon enough, she would be joining her out in the real wizarding world. Which was beginning to not scare her as much anymore these days. If Shay could survive, then Brittany would be able to do it. Though, Shay had returned to Hogwarts which technically didn't count as the real world. Things that happened outside the castle were much more dangerous than anything that could happen inside the castle.
Brittany teased, "So, how did you escape from whoever you're interning for today?"

"I told him I was really hungry and I had to go to the bathroom." She giggled a little, adding, "When he didn't want to give in, I told him I had 'girl problems'. Got away easy." It was amazing that despite being classified as an adult, she could still get away with schoolgirl antics. Then again, at times she still felt like a silly schoolgirl.
"I hope I wasn't bothering you with your NEWT studying," Shay said. She had made an effort not to distract Brittany or anyone from doing their exams, but that of course drained any chances for some hanging out time.

The Gryffindor girl giggled and winked at her sister, "Always the perfect way to get away. No man can ever question that one." As for what she had said about distracting her from studying for the NEWTS, it was quite easy to be disturbed since she hadn't actually been studying. Though she would most likely tell Shay about it later on, she was still developing and perfecting plans. So she went ahead with the whole studying gimmick.
"Hehe, no way. I'm so relieved to have an excuse to get away from that stuff. You have no idea how long it's been since I've seen the light of day. Hence, why I sit here." Brittany informed her.
She opened her arms to indicate the window and sunshine coming through it. So it wasn't exactly outside or fresh air but it was light. That was a nice change from the artificial stuff that she'd been seeing for the past few days. It felt like she hadn't been able to really hang out with Shay because of her finals and for that she felt bad. Brittany had never been the best student, so these new constant study habits were very hard to stick to, but she had been doing quite well. Possibly too well?

"You definitely need something more than a window. I think that before we leave here, we have to have one last dip in the lake." Ah, how she missed the warm temperatures of the lake. It was on her list of to do's before leaving Hogwarts.
Thinking back to the lake, she smiled knowingly. "I went on a date with an Auror yesterday." She grinned from ear to ear, glad to have it out already.

Brittany's eyes widened at this very interesting news. A grin started to appear on the girl's face, though not as big as the doofy one Shay had on hers. This information made her spring from her window seat and jump up and down. She took Shay's hands in hers and squealed. This was indeed, well worth cutting into her study time for. It actually came as a shock to the Gryffindor girl that her friend had went out on a date. Sure, she was the same age as her and she, herself had her own boyfriend. But she had never really been able to picture Shay on a date. Besides, around Hogwarts there weren't such things as dates. You met someone, if you both felt the same way you ended up boyfriend and girlfriend. Ah, sweet school-hood.
"Oh my God! I can barely believe you. What was his name? Where'd you go? How'd you meet him? Tell me everything!" Brittany wasn't going to even attempt to conceal her excitement on the matter. She shouted her various questions, while continueing to jump and giggle in the middle of the hallway.

Shay let herself be brought into the super excitement that only two best friends could have. She squealed and jumped happily, just very excited to even tell her all about it.
"His name's Zeke. He's acutally one of the patrolling Aurors around here, and we just sort of bumped into other one morning, and..." She couldn't help but keep laughing. She hadn't put it into a girly perspective until now and she just dwelled in it.

Brittany was especially glad that the girl had not just stood there and let her act the fool alone. It was perfectly acceptable for two of them to do it, but one is just dumb. So when Shay joined her in her excited frenzy, she became even more happy. It felt like they were younger again, when you get excited over every little thing about any guy. Oh wait...that still happened...
"Wait! Zeke?" Brittany knew that the name sounded familiar as she rolled it over in her head a couple times. Finally it came to her, "I've met him before!"
The girl jumped as she declared this, remembering back to the night. They hadn't talked for long, only maybe an hour or so. But she was almost positive they were talking about the same people.
((She seriously has, at the Halloween Ball. haha, I thought they had spoken before but I wasn't sure. So I tracked the thread down and sure enough it was Zeke! lol, I thought it was pretty crazy.))

(lmao! That's such a great coincidence.)
"Are you serious?" Shay's eyes widened at Brittany, her laughing coming to a halt just so she could hear it right. If she felt anything, it was surprise. Then again, it's a small, small world.
Now they really had to go into a talk. "Neverwood? Dark hair? Violet eyes? He's so cute, isn't he?" The interrogation would most likely go into overdrive, but Shay wanted to know....

"It was at the Halloween ball and he was in costume. So he had red eyes and red streaks in his hair, but it's the same name I swear!" Brittany informed her, as she remembered back to that night.
She had been waiting for Sora, who was quite late and Zeke was bored having to patrol a school dance. He had seemed pretty nice and easy going, so she would definitely see why Shay would like the guy. As for looks, the costume that the man wore was quite a scare. So that made her worry what he really did look like under that pale, grey skin. Maybe she would meet him with Shay one day, this time without costume. It was definitely a weird coincidence that they were having though.

"Most likely him," Shay said with a laugh as the description of his costume brought her to a memory from an encounter. "We were talking and he all over sudden sprouted red hair. He's a metamorphmagus!" Again, she was astounded by his gift, but impressed by it. It did add a little to their encounter.
