"East," Arianna replied quietly. She was starting to wonder how many people didn't really know her. Krissy had asked her a lot of questions over the holiday that Arianna had thought she knew. Maybe she had been hiding things without knowing it. No one should blame her, though. It always seemed that those who knew her best were the ones who liked to use it against her. It was much easier to give them as little as possible to work off of, wasn't it?
"Qui-lin," the girl clarified before Lilly could ask more.

"Ah," Lily said, cursing herself for not knowing her geography. She was silent, just walking and thinking. She didn't really know what to say exactly. What she was best at was saying the wrong things, so maybe it would be best if she said nothing at all.

"So how was your break?" Arianna asked before she had to explain all about Qui-lin. It wasn't Lily's fault, but Arianna just didn't want to tell her anything more. And she was still dreading Ravenclaw. Arianna found herself wishing she could switch houses now. She wouldn't even mind Hufflepuff. At least she could trust them. She hadn't ever been hurt by a Hufflepuff.

"Alright," Lily said. "About as good as I can come to expect these days." She shrugged. Nic and Lily had gotten into a fight, but Ari didn't need to know about that. She wasn't the kind that shared stuff like that. That was pretty much all that had happened. Break times where pretty boring.

"That's good," Arianna said. She then fell silent again, hand stroking at the cat in her arms. Arianna couldn't say why, but she didn't feel very talkative. If she was with Krissy it would have been impossible, but at the moment she didn't want to talk to anyone else.

Lily nodded. "It is." She said. She didn't know what else to say. She saw the cat in Ari's hand. "Is that the cat that we took to Professor Davenport? Did you name him?" She peered curiously at the little cat trying to see if it was indeed the same cat.

"Yeah," Arianna held Juniper out so Lily could see him better and to see how big he had grown. He didn't like this much and tried to pull himself back towards Arianna, succeeding only in squirming about. "I named him Juniper. He can be a handful sometimes, but he's really cute, isn't he?"

"He is," Lily said, petting the little kitty on the head. "That's a pretty name too. Do you have any idea how much bigger he's going to get?" She stopped petting him so that Ari could pull him back so he would stop squirming.

"Nope," Arianna replied with a small shrug. As she pulled Juniper back towards her, the kitten stopped is wiggling. Not as much as she would have liked, but at least she didn't feel as though she would drop him.
"I haven't even asked Davenport if she might now," Arianna then commented. "It's too bad he can't stay little, though. But I think I'll still like him."

Lily smiled. "I think you will." She said. "I had a cat once. His name was mischeif. He was such a sweet cat though, he never lived up to his name. He got old and sick though and we had to put him down, but he was a good cat."

Arianna's steps faultered a bit. She didn't ever want to have to put Juniper down. She knew most animals didn't live as long as humans did, but she couldn't bare the thought of having to put Juniper or even Snip to 'sleep.' Why in the world did Lily have to go and get Arianna thinking about such things?

"You ok?" Lily asked quietly. There she had gone again, saying something wrong. She had been doing so well and then she had to go and ruin it. She always ruined things somehow. Maybe she was cursed.

"Huh? Oh...yeah," Arianna insisted again, adding a short nod for emphasis. She picked up her pace again, trying hard not to let her thoughts bother her. Her grip on Juniper, however, tightened slightly as though she was afraid he would leave her at that moment. "I'm fine. Just...tired. I can't wait until I can apparate. Then I can get home in a day instead of three."

Lily smiled. "It will be nice when we can apparate won't it?" Lily said. "It will make things so much faster. Do you think you would feel safe apparating so far?" She looked at Lily as she walked, absentmindedly playing with her hem.
