((I haven't RPed for a long time lol. I hope I'm not too rusty.))
A cloud of dust hovered over the grimy cobblestones of Knocturn Alley as the shadowy figure known as Aros made his way through it. He took a shaky breath as he struggled to stay up, planting a pale hand against the side of a closed storefront, the mannequins inside staring at him with a mocking and lifeless look. It didn't take a genius to tell that Aros was not well.
He wiped the sweat off of his brow before leaving his hand on his forehead for a few seconds. He was still burning up and his fever showed no signs of ever stopping. He grinned weakly to himself as he continued to slowly walk on, his hand dragging along the windows of the closed stores as the moon shined down upon him. It was midnight...and the streets were devoid of life.
Totally empty.
"...T-tired..." he said, not knowing himself that he said the word aloud. Weariness seeped to his bones as he finally collapsed, only managing to put his arms up in order to prevent his face from hitting the ground. He simply laid there for a few seconds, his breath bringing up dust from the ground. His breathing rate became haphazard as it began to slow down. Using the rest of his energy, he pushed his right hand against the ground, causing his body to turn and face the open sky of the night. He looked up at one of the stars which glowed brightly down upon him,
"...You...have forsakened me..." he said, still looking up at the sky, "...Forgotten...all this time. Forgotten...Erin...forgotten...me."
It became quiet for a few seconds before his maniacal laughter filled the air, growing louder before suddenly dying. His eyes slowly began to close. A lone thought made its way to his mind as he fell into unconsciousness,
Yeah...falling asleep in Knocturn is a bad idea...

(You're still quite polished ) Decency, demurity. A woman of virtues. Now, where did that all go? Everything these days seemed to be turned on its head. Sienna couldn't lovingly stroll along where she had wanted. She didn't look at an old lady with the lazy eye and a mysterious bag in curiousity, mostly because she knew what the woman had in store. Yes, everything had a slight tilt to it, as Sienna was no longer safe. Her last mission with the teacher who's name surfaced to be Shaw brought on some self imposed paranoia and a compulsive need to alternate between places every other weekend. This time around it came to be with an old affiliate in Knockturn who agreed to give her two nights. Sienna was more than satisfied with this, because she wanted more time before heading into the Cross Manor. And so the night was one with more awareness than ever. She made the quietest steps, she had shallow breaths. Every craning of the neck contributed to her sense of something being behind her. She missed the free feeling, but it would not fly from this time, not when she had to be careful. When she had arrived to Knockturn, it had been transformed into a quiet quaint area, only illuminated in certain areas and with the typical sounds of a city. Though typical it may have been, Sienna could sense just a bit of a tension to come. She was no psychic, but she was in for a right answer. The deep, thick laughter came suddenly had the most sudden piecing in her skull, the pierce of familiarity. Only one man in her mind would ever pull of a howl of a laugh like that. Looking up from her low-down walk, she hesistantly went-- no ran-- around the corner, hoping to see any idiotic man. Oh but no. Without much thinking on her part, she fell to her knees, bothering to the bottom of her dark blue robes. "You idiot..." She said with her white hand on his chest. A smile crept up on her and had illumination, even in the night. "You're quite the pissed lush tonight."

A familiar voice punctured the wall of darkness that surrounded Aros' mind. He groaned in obvious discomfort as he struggled to open his eyes. They stared into the depths of the figure's eyes as he felt a soft pressure on his chest. He blinked the haziness of his view away as he continued to look upon the figure,
"...The Angel of Death..." he wheezed, his brown eyes still appearing quite despite the high temperature that his body was still in, "...is awfully...very pretty. I was...expecting you...to be...more...ugly."
He gave off a racking cough before he shook his head slightly, still staring up at the figure. He couldn't place it but he felt like he had met this figure before. No, not met. He knew this person before him. The fog of his mind cleared as he remembered the person before him,
"Sienna..." he said, giving off a weak laugh before coughing again, "...what's...up...? I think...I'm...sick..." he ended, laughing once again before he fell once more to unconciousness.

Go figure. All his lurking about makes him susceptible to what he has. Sienna considered leaving him in his delusions, figuring he wouldn't think twice afterwards that she was really there. Maybe he'd die. Maybe he won't. What difference did it make to her?
She sighed. As much as she would have hated to admit, he did seem very sick. Sick enough to make her worry. Thank you for the added burden, she thought acidly. "I suppose this is where I swoop in and play 'Mummy'," She slipped a hand underneath his back and began to force him up. "Come along, now. I'll take you to where I'm going."

Jumbled words and sounds of movement made its way to Aros' ears, trying to rouse him from sleep. It was probably Erin just playing with her toys. It was a foolish idea to buy the little girl a toy broomstick for her to fiddle around with. She was already a menace with her dollies and tea parties and whatnot. Now that she had a toy broomstick in her arsenal, she was a forced to be reckoned with.
"Erin...keep it down, trying to sleep here. I'll play with you in a 'lil bit..." Aros mumbled, opening his eyes hoping to find a little blond girl flying on a imitation broomstick looking at him with a cute little smile. He hoped to hear her voice offer a small 'Sorry, I'll keep it down.' and would continue on with her business of making pretend she was a Chaser for the Harpies. He hoped for a lot of things. He had learned early on in his life that hoping for things to happen was a very foolish idea that was sure to backfire. In fact, hope was not a word in Aros' dictionary. He had lost his hope long ago.
Instead of finding Erin, he, instead, found Sienna staring down at him with an odd look upon her face. He was not on his bed but on the dirty stone ground of Knocturn Alley. Once again, hope had let him down once again. Figures.
Aros was slowly put in a sitting position with the help of Sienna. He shook his head once again, hoping to clear some cobwebs as he looked at Sienna once again,
"Where...are we...going..." he wheezed, trying his best not to fall back down again as he slowly stood up, "Don't...take this the...wrong way. Actually...don't...really care if...you do..." he said as he wrapped an arm around Sienna's shoulders. He shifted his weight to her somewhat so he wouldn't fall back to the ground.

Sienna kept up her own strength as she held him close to her in order to keep him from collapsing again. It was a funny ordeal to her, having to take care of him and most likely nurse him back to health. She would not have wanted to, but when her weekend consisted of doing nothing but hiding, she figured taking up a pet project would relieve some of her inner anxiety and tension.
She hadn't said anything from his last words, save a grunt or two when his weight seemed to shift more on her. But it would take a block or two until she would get to her aquaintance's home. "Who's Erin?" She asked briskly, and with the slightest tinge of jealousy. It hadn't been expected of her, but she also figured his high fever kept him from his special trait of observance that she so thoroughly hated.

If there was one thing that Aros hated the most, it was being taken care by others. It caused a burning feeling deep in his gut that felt like a hot coal was in his stomach. He felt so vulnerable and weak that he was being cared for like a defenseless little child. He hated it.
He ignored the question about Erin. It brought up bad memories that he really did not want to share currently. It wasn't really Sienna's business anyway. Nosy witch.
The surroundings melded into a pot of colors. Empty stores became a color splash of brown, black and grey. Aros shook his head as he tried not to fall unconscious again. Twice was enough for the night as anymore would damage his pride...or at least what was left of it.
It was during that specific moment where he continued to fight against unconsciousness that he realized how close he was to Sienna. The warmth of her body as well as her aroma. Her fragrance baffled his mind even more than than what the fever was doing to him,
"...You smell good..." Aros whispered, strengthening his grip around her. He really didn't know what he was trying to accomplish with her. He didn't really have any feeling for the woman but he couldn't truly say that he didn't like her. He was simply working on primal instincts since it served him well in the past...for the most part at least.

"You're delusional," Sienna retorted, unable to help the rise of anger at the matter on hand. It was all going through her mind. Why the Good Samaritan role, anyway? She had plenty of agenda and reasons in helping him escape a cold, lonely death, but none that worth it, save the one where he never told her how she could repay him for covering up her first murder.
Sienna gained a passion in getting to her location quick, however clumsy it may have been under Aros' weight. He was more of an attention grabber than her being by herself. She couldn't have that.
The door to the location was just upfront. Looking around, she thought to put Aros on a ledge so that she could knock on the door. Doing so, she rested him against the wall. "Act like an idiot, and I will leave you here. Do you understand?" Whether he answered or not was not her problem, she went on to knock on the door. Sounds and whispers came, but Sienna knew they would open eventually.

Aros chuckled, though it sounded more of a dry wheeze than a chuckle, "Delusional? I feel more alive than I have ever been. My mind isn't as clouded as it was before. I can thank the fever for that..."
Okay, maybe he was delusional, but he would never admit that to Sienna. Actually, parts of what he said were somewhat true. His mind was clearer than ever and was void of all unnecessary thoughts. It was kind of nice since thoughts that plagued him before were nonexistent in the haze of his fever.
"Stop moving so damn much. Everything is all so woozy..." Aros mumbled as he felt her move, though it seemed more toss than move, him against the wall of a house. He looked up with one eye closed at the home. It was a nice, kept up house, which was saying something since they were in Knockturn Alley, and was devoid of graffiti and trash loitering around. In a place such as Knockturn Alley, the house looked very suspicious.
Aros looked at Sienna, giggling and a highly affronted look upon his features, "Me?? Act like an idiot? Miss, do you know who you're talking to? Since when have I acted like an idiot?"
Aros crossed his arms like a child who was berated by his mother as he boiled over what she said. Hushed words like "Call me an idiot...", "I'm definitely not an idiot.", and, his personal favourite, "Stupid girl...probably has cooties." came from the fuming feverish dark wizard.

"Oh for Merl--" Sienna griped, but didn't finish her thought as she know had to deal with the door opening in front of her. It revealed a man, short in stature, but slender in features. He looked normal in his bearings, but above average in handsomeness. He looked to be about Sienna's age, and he had the same solemn attitude that she seemed to bear.
"Marcus, thank you," Sienna said as she gave him a kisses on both cheeks. "I appreciate you helping me out."
"Of course, my darling Sienna. I'd do this just for you," He opened the door all the way, and noticed Aros in the corner. Marcus looked back at Sienna. She sighed.
"I, uh. He-- I found him, but I know him. I hope you don't mind me taking care of him while I stay." She opened her eyes a little wide, showing a sense of hope in him.
"Is he pure?" Marcus asked bluntly. She knew he would accept no less.
"Of course, I wouldn't dare try to nurse a dirty wizard," Sienna replied. Marcus gestured for them to enter, but seeing as she was in need of some help, he began to help her escort the feverish man inside.
Marcus briefly explained the layout of the house, and later asked, "Do you need some supplies?"
Sienna nodded as she went to carry him to the spare room on the ground floor. "Do you still have the potions I gave you when you fell ill?" He nodded. "That will do, as well as my old medicine kit." As they arrived to the spare room, he disappeared into the kitchen for her supplies.
She was professional and polite during the entire time, and she had the slight memories of her times as a Healer at one point. But mannerisms didn't go far when she practically dropped Aros on the small, uncomfortable bed. She looked around the clean, dull room. Clean. That's all she wanted. Sitting in the bed beside him, she went for his forehead to feel the heat radiating off of him. "Don't scream now, but I believe you're going to be with me for some time."
(I hope you don't mind the slight god-mod. I'll modify if needed)

Nonsensical words flowed from one ear and right out the other. Time was mangled and nonexistants as he drifted to and fro from the worlds of awake and unconsciousness. His eyes slowly closed as he submitted to his desires of rest. Movement bothered him though as he felt someone lift him up from his comfortable position against the wall.
Words that Aros didn't bother to pay attention to were exchanged as someone led him forward, the temperature changing which was evidence enough that he was inside the house. He was led to a bed where he promptly laid upon, stretching his bones as he weakly opened his eyes. He stared at the blank ceiling above him as he felt a soft touch upon his forehead. He shifted his head slightly as he watched Sienna, a small smirk playing upon his face,
"I never knew you...were good at these sort of things..." Aros whispered quietly. He chuckled quietly,
"Being with you...for quite some time...sounds like...hell..." he said, laughing before a racking cough made its way through his body.
Maybe he should cut back on the jokes and simply just rest.

"Quit it already," Sienna said, but it wasn't the rash, cold way he might have been used to hearing. In fact, it was gentle and methodical in its tone, like a Healer at work. She smoothed away the hair from his forehead and felt it formally. "Hmmm... long night, indeed."
Just then, Marcus entered into the room, a black dragonhide bag in hand. "Here you go, Sienna. Just as you left it." Sienna stood up from the bed to retrieve it from him.
"I appreciate it, Marcus." Just as he turned to leave, Sienna mentioned a few other things she might have needed. "And some cold water and a towel. Thank you so much..." She smiled at the man, and Marcus looked back at his old friend with the same smile and a nod.
Before he left, he added, "You know, I haven't seen you smile like that since Wilson." He closed the door behind him, his heavy shoes pounding further away from them. Her smile remained, but it felt a little bit tight, a little bit strained until she altogether stopped smiling. Wiping at the sweat on her own forehead, she turned back to Aros, promptly opening her bag and taking out a few potions. Luckily for Aros, these were not yet expired.

"Sorry for all the...lame jokes..." Aros started before going into another series of coughs, "I crack them only during moments of...awkwardness..."
Aros shivered slightly before pulling the comforter more tightly against himself. He continued to gaze up at the ceiling as he idly listened to the tinkling sounds of the potions that Sienna was busying herself with. He closed his eyes as he let the silence wash over his body like a calm wave. His mind wandered during the sense of tranquility that he felt. The reasons for his fever...Why he hardly slept at night...The voice that haunted every living moment of his life...
Aros opened his eyes before any more horrible thoughts and memories came to mind. He shook his head slightly before looking back at Sienna, letting loose on his grip of the comforter,
"...London...if you had another chance at life, a chance to redo any mistakes you might've done...Would you still take the route that led you to this particular moment?" he asked, sounding more serious than he ever had been.

Now it was her turn to crack the bad jokes. "You mean, like taking another road so I wouldn't have to be taking care of you now?" She had a little devilish smile in her, but she wised up again, looking towards him as she swished the new combination of potions in one hand. "No. When you get older, you learn to face away from the regrets and keep going." She looked away for a moment, but her eyes flew to him again. "Like a race... you may make mistakes, but you know you can't turn back and take it at another angle. Just catch up and win."
Her eyes grew heavy under the slow flutter of her eyelids. What Marcus said automatically brought her back to the woes she experience six years ago. When it came to still moments as these, it was hard for her to not think of Wilson. It was also hard not to talk about him. It made her want to stop and think about it.
"What brought me here was the man I used to love. After he died and left me to be the person I was today, I was sure he was just a bloody mistake in my life, a mishap that would tumble in more moments of regret. However, things got worse before they got better-- but they got better. This is my life now, and I shouldn't want to change it. Not at all." She stopped moving the potion, examined its color, and opened it. "I would rather choose my life a million times than to think 'What if'."

Aros listened to Sienna's story as he mentally compared his to hers. He really couldn't help it; It was one of the few flaws that he had. He could stay up all night, just thinking about thing that may have happened if he did this or didn't do that. Questions like that plagued both his mind and soul, becoming like a festering disease that held his sanity on the line.
"...I guess...you're stronger than me in that sense..." Aros said wistfully, "...I can't help but think...'What if'..." he was silent for a moment before taking a deep breath,
"I...had a daughter. She was adopted-" the term adopted sounded so much better than simply 'I picked her off the street', "-but I loved her like she was my own..."
"We were both street trash but we had each other. That was all that really mattered I guess. I considered giving up killing...the dark arts...everything for that little girl..." he said silently, an image of Erin appearing in his mind. Her bright smile, her bright blue eyes, her loving and caring attitude...
"...When she died...I felt like the last bits of my humanity finally died off." he said in a grim tone, "The last bits of light are always the hardest to snuff out..." he laughed quietly to himself before closing his eyes
He let out a long sigh, eyes still closed, "Ever since she died...I've always been plagued by 'What ifs'...because, truly, I would give anything to get Erin back..."
