Kellen would be the first to tell someone that this wasn't really the shop for him. He'd never had a strong interest in art and no real knowledge of form or colour. But then again, he wasn't there for himself.
He opened the doors to the Art Emporium, relieved to have a place to go instead of just wandering around Knockturn Alley--another place Kellen would freely admit wasn't really for him. He didn't really know what he was looking for, but his little sister's birthday was coming up and apparently she was becoming quite the artist--that, or it was another faze she was going through. Still, he felt sure he could get her something in the magical world she'd still be able to use and couldn't find in any Muggle store. After asking around, he seemed to believe that this place was the place to go.
Still a clueless customer, however, he waited to be acknowledged by anyone working in the shop, who would clearly know more about what he should look for than he would.

Oh what a beautiful day! Hordes of customers! Many happy faces buying art supplies! Oh what a nice day!
Jane couldn't be happier. She loved to see people buying art supplies and making things with them. Even when Muggle borns came in she was slightly happy to see them buying paints and making the world a bit more beautiful. Weird for her, but she was weird. As she sat behind the counter she was trying out some new paints that had this wicked effect to change to the mood of the people nearest to the painting. The paints were warm tones at the moment, showing that the room more specifically Jane was very happy. With a happy sigh she grabbed the box near her feet and started to stock the shelves.
As she finished putting the paints on the shelf the spell she set upon her door when someone came in tripped, letting out a light ring to alert her to a customer. Flicking her wand she made the bx disappear. Jane turned to the door and gave the boy a smile. He looked very familiar to the Slytherin graduate. Stowing her wand into her pocket she took a step forward. "Hello! Welcome to Maelstrom Art Emporium. I'm the owner, Jane. What can I help you with today Sir?" With her free hand she flicked her bright pink bangs out of her eyes to get a better look at the boy. He did look familiar.

"Absolutely," Kellen said, deciding that pretending he knew what he was doing would just be ridiculous here. Sure, most salespeople tried to take advantage of unknowing customers and sell them more than they needed, but he figured that if that was going to happen, it would happen anyway. At least this way he knew he could really ask for help.
"My sister's birthday is coming up, and according to Mum and Da she's gotten really into painting. So. I guess I need painting supplies."
