At long last, the train began to slow, the breaks increasingly giving to slow the massive machine down. Another whistle blew, warning the students within to get ready to embark, but also as a signal to those awaiting their arrival. Slower and slower it became until at long last the Hogwarts Express squeaked to a final stop.
The doors magically opened, steps flinging themselves down to make it easier on those coming out of the train. It was already dark on Hogsmeade Station, Hogwarts visible in the near distance by its brightly lit windows, the rest of its grounds cast in shadows.
The Groundskeeper, Mather Goodwin was already calling for the first years, ready to take them across the lake. For the rest of the school however, the apparently horseless carriages were at the ready.

Talia shook her head, her vision wasn't the best as of yet, but she wasn't about to fess up to it. "I'm fine, really.." her voice trailed off as the train came to a hault. She stood up. "Well Dorf, would you accompany me to the castle?" She asked, grinning. She looked to Emma. "Well Emma, it was nice to meet you, hope to see you around the castle, I'm here if you need anything." She said smiling, since she knew Emma would have to go on the boats while her and Dorf went to the carriages. "Coming Dorf?" She asked, opening the door.

Dorf smiled at Talia and nodded. "I would love to," she said. She was still worried about Talia but decided to do as she had said and not push the issue. She too stood up and smiled at Emme. "Have fun, Emma," Dorf said, "we'll be cheering for you! And remember to lift your feet." She smiled and looked back to Talia. "Right behind you," she said, and smiled at Emma one last time before following Talia out.

Anna felt the train slowing down and the wistle sounding throughout the train. Good thing that she had just changed into her Gryffindor robes because she was ready to get off this train and eat at the feast! Just a small amount of candy wasn't going to keep her going all day and night was it? Turning to Jason and asked, "Are you ready to go?" Then looking at Brittany she said, "Good luck with the sorting! I hope you end up in Gryffindor!"

Talia exited the train, knowing which way to go for the carriages. She hated the fact that she could see the beats leading the carriages, but the only way you could see them is if you've seen someone die, or be murdered, which she obviously had seen, but she couldn't remember who, or when, it happened.
She shrugged it off, stepping into an empty carriage, and waited for Dorf. Her headache was basically gone, so she smiled pleasantly and couldn't wait to get to the castle.

Dorf fell into the carriage. "Whoop!" she yelled. She landed hard on the carriage floor, rocking it from side to side. "Ouch!" She pushed herself up and checked her footing was secure so that she could get propperly into the carriage. She crawled in and smiled sheepishly at Talia, "the step was slippery," she explained. Her cheeks had gone red and her nose was slightly brused from her landing. "I noticed the way you looked at the carriage before we got in. Can you see what pulls 'em?"

Nic tried a smile, but it was half hearted. If she was lying and this was some sick game he was going to make her pay for the pain she was causing him all over again. "I'm a slytherin fifth year. You're a Ravenclaw sixth year." He was trying to prove stuff he knew about her. Lily shook her head. "Not anymore," she said. "I have to repeat the 5th year. But then again, I don't really remember. So it's more like a first time for me." As the train came to a halt, she looked up at Nic. "Now where do we go?" She asked him. She looked outside. She looked back at Nic. "What pulls the carriages?" She asked. She may have seen someone die before, may have seen the thestrals before, but the memories were gone like dust in the wind.

Nic looked surprise. Lily was now going to be in his year. He was supposed to be friends with her and repeat everything AND have her in all his classes. It was too much. What if she fell in love with another guy how was he supposed to handle that and see her everyday. Nic tried to make his face remain blank.
"Oh, that's coo then I'll see you in class. Just follow the mob. They'll lead you correctly." Nic chuckled. "Unless you find yourself wid a bunch of midgets. Then ya followed the wrong mob. They be the firsties." Nic looked out the window. He hadn't bothered to wonder. He thought it was all magic. "I don't know. I never thought how the carriages were pulled. Magic I guess."

Michelle, now alone, quickly jumped off the train dragging her trunk with her holding tightly onto a picture of her brother that had been neatly lying beside her.
It was dark outside and slightly chilly. She regretted packing her only cloak. If she would have known she would have needed it...
Wrapping her robes tighter around her body she carefully drug her trunk away from the train and into a pile with the rest of the first years' things. As she was setting down her trunk, she dropped her picture of her brother. Immediately she let go of her trunk to retrieve it, before it was smashed.
"Ouch sis! Michelle looked up in time to see her trunk smash down on her brother's foot. "You think you could be a little careful there eh? I was just coming over to help out a bit before I took off. And look!" He shook his head grabbing hold of his picture and pulling out from underneath the trunk. "Uncle Nick spent a lot on this frame you know. Try taking care of it."
He handed her the picture then darted off to the carriges that awaited the other students. Michelle tucked the now damaged picture inside her robes before quickly joining the other first years.

Talia grinned as Dorf made her graceful entrance. Dorf really reminded her of herself, somewhat clumsy, and somewhat talkative. She didn't know what to say about the carriages, but she didn't want to explain why she could see them in the first place, or what they looked like. "Don't be ridiculous, there's nothing pulling these things." She said, hoping Dorf would think that the dark was playing tricks with her eyes or something of the sort.
