Having successfully navigated the lesser of two evils, that being both muggle and wizarding sides of Kings Cross, and managing to arrive early enough to get his things settled away and forward before departure it was now time for the hard part. The leadership part, time, for the Prefect's Meeting. Oh, sure, it was pretty straight forward, especially when most of the Prefects probably hadn't changed, but, stillt here was the whole...leadership thing...speaking thing...he never really was comfortable with either. But he wouldn't succeed anywhere unless he got used to holding responsability over others...got used, to working in a team, heading a team. You can't be a follower of someone's shadow forever.
So as the clock counted down closer to departure, Corey perched himself on the seat, head turned toward the window with his thoughts circling in a massive puddle in his head. Was he really ready for this?

Hurting. But Tristan would of let it go soon. He remembered something from the letter saying he had to go to some prefect meeting. Wonder what was going to be up in that meeting. He heard a rumour going around the Express saying that ol' Corey Faulkland was Head Boy.
He walked into the Express. "Is it true, Faulkland? Your the new Head Boy?" he asked the older year. Corey wasn't always nice to Tristan. Wait a minute, of course he was, just wasn't nice to Tristan if he asks stupid questions. Partically like what he just asked or maybe it really wasn't stupid.
You choose.

Dragos really hated having to leave Vanessa so quickly, but he also didn't want to get in trouble for being late. The Slytherin prefect hauled his stuff with him until he reached where he needed to be and dropped his trunk and his backpack on top of it. He didn't know either of the guys there were there yet, so Dragos only smiled at them before taking a seat on top of his trunk again, playing with the wheel of his skateboard.
Looking up, Dragos look at the boy who was looking out the window. He looked almost terrified of being here and Dragos didn't really understand why. Sure he himself was nervous but the other one seemed to be having a bit of difficulty with it. It seemed as though the other boy that was there wasn't really helping the matter with the way he'd spoken. Dragos just kind of looked at him, but didn't say anything. He knew better than to open his mouth around people he didn't know.

Another year, another boring prefect meeting to start off the year. Alexis wasn't too excited nor was she in the mood to have to come to this meeting but what could she do about it? If she didn't come she would be in big trouble and Alexis wanted to stay away from that. Dropping off her trunk somewhere, she proceeded to the prefect carriage still dressed in muggle attire.
Strolling in, Alexis expected to find more people in there already. However she only found Corey, another boy and surprisingly Tristan as well. "Tristan? You're a prefect?" she asked surprised. This wasn't ment as an insult or anything, just pure surprise.

"You've got my badge, and I'm still in this car. Simple math Tristan, simple math." Corey replied, not turning his head in the slightest. The fact that Tristan was badgering him, well, more like questioning him annoyingly abuot his badge didn't bug Corey. What did bug him was how in the name of Merlin did Howard find out? Then again...he had been wearing the badge all bloody morning, so someone COULD have noticed it he supposed...
Oh whatever, it didn't matter now anyways. "Anyone know where the rest of the others are, or, for that matter, who got Head Girl?" The Gryffindor questioned, taking the briefest moments to glance at just who was and wasn't present. They had representaton from all but Ravenclaw--which was certainly most odd in his viewpoint, but then again his viewpoint was still partially clouded. Much like the weather was presently.
(Forgive my angered post, right now, I'm NOT having a very good night.)

As if on cue Krissy came bounding into the carriage. She had had to fight her way through the crowd on the train to get to the front, and help a few of the younger students on her way there. But she had finally made it to the front of the train to where the rest of the student leaders were gathering. Krissy's hair was slightly wet, as she had come herself to the platform. She was now dressed in her school robes, her head girl badge pinned neatly to her chest.
Upon entering Krissy's eyes scanned the room, dragos, Alexis, Tristan? and then her eyes finally fell upon. "Corey!" Krissy yelled suddenly. "You got head boy?" It wasn't really a question, mroe of an excited statement. "Oh thats wonderful, well done!" Krissy said making her way over to where he was sitting. Krissy took the seat next to Corey excitedly. This was perhaps the first time one of these meetings had been exciting to her, perhaps that was because she was supposed to be running it.

Like an actor who entered late for his que without knowing Hiro entered the meeting as the Ravenclaw's first representitive. He had his hands full answering the questions of a first year and letting her hold Flicker. After putting his small bag and his pet one of the compartments the blind Raven made his way to the meeting. He both looked forward and dreaded the meeting because he'd get to talk to Drew finally instead of just writing letters back and forth. On the other hand Charlie would also be at the meeting which was bad in that due to her most recent letter he had no idea of what to do, she stopped writing after that unique letter which confussed Hiro even more. The sooner this meeting was over the sooner he could talk to one of them.

After getting Leon settled and saying goodbye to Finn, Keagan had finally been able to get down to the Prefect's Meeting in the front car. Upon entering the compartment, a bounce to her step that was reflected in the bounce of her pony tail, Keag's eyes caught sight of Corey first, and she moved to get nearer him, unaware that he was no longer her counterpart in Gryffindor. A glance around the room from his side made her uneasy, though.
"Corey...," she started, speaking in a low whisper and still not having noticed the Head Boys' badge shining from its spot on his robes. "What's Tristan doing here?"
After all the trouble she'd had keeping him in line the last year or so, Keag couldn't imagine why the sixth year would have any reason to be here right now.

He looked at Corey and heard his reply, "Okie dokie, man," he said to him. After awhile, he got bored of sitting so he slumped into a chair and yes there was a chair. Seeing the other prefects coming in, he smiled. First time being prefect and looking at everyone else.

As the others, or, most of them filtered in one by one Corey heard the whistle and felt the train lurch at precisely eleven. Punctual, as usual but it still amazed him they had it down to the very second. Merlin knew today, and tonight would the most hectic of the year second only to exams. At least, the most hectic that he actually knew about. In response to Keagan's question Corey only motioned to his badge, leaving her brain to fill in the lines.
It was time to get the show on the road.
"Alright guys...most of us are here so let's get this started, sooner we do that, sooner we can get back to our wonderful rainy day." Corey began, awkwardness feeling only half as strong at the moment he'd figured it would. In the back of his mind he was running last year's meeting through his head and finding himself feeling more than a bit odd. It was so much easier to be the listener rather than the speaker. "You guys know the basic drill, aurors are still around, help the first years, keep order...pretty much the same speech as last year, our simple job descriptions. Umm..." He trailed off quietly, not really sure what else he could say. Or, for that matter if anything was left.
(I'd prefer Krissy to go after me directly, but, whatever you all wanna do)

Krissy's eyes scanned the room, Pat wasn't here yet. That in itself was a curious site to Krissy, interestingly enough, neither was Drew. As Corey started speaking Krissy looked to him, she was glad he had started, she wasn't quite sure what to say as of yet and perhaps he would jolt her memory. Krissy also hadn't been at the meeting last year, having not been a prefect at the time, so she didn't know what had gone on. It was as Corey dropped off with an 'umm' that Krissy realised that it was her turn to speak.
"With the auror's are still around we have to be more and more careful" Krissy said looking around at everyone. "Prefect patrols will be done in pairs this year, we don't want anyone patrolling on their own" Krissy looked at Corey momentarily. What else was there to say? Krissy wasn't sure about what else was needed saying. "Oh and like usual we need to patrol the train and keep things in order" Krissy smiled around at everyone. Hopefully she hadn't forgotten anything.

Following Corey's gesture, Keagan's eyes dropped to the badge on his chest. Her immediate reaction was one of joy and pride in her friend, but then her eyes fell on Tristan and she felt a her stomach fall, painfully, as if it were made of lead. Had they really done that? The Gryffindor was shocked, confused, panicked, and a bit hurt, but all she did was let herself fall into a sitting position on one of the benchseats along the side of the compartment as Corey began to speak.
After the Head Students had made their speeches, though, Keagan felt compelled to raise her hand and ask a question. "Why do the auror's being around mean we have to up security? Wouldn't they be helping us with that, meaning we'd have an easier time of it, going alone?"
Maybe there was logic in there somewhere, but Keagan didn't understand it.

Drew slid into the compartment on wet shoes, not really caring who he splattered with his wet hair. "I'm here, I'm here, I'm here!" he called out, collapsing on the floor in exhaustion after his race to jump on the train.
"What did I miss?" he asked, looking up at Krissy and Corey and it was then that his eyes fell on Tristan. "Hey, what's Howard doing here?"

He looked at everyone talking. Shoot, it was his first time. He was nervous as you can be. But right here Tristan knew he couldn't act all silly this term. It was time to be for real. But his only way to prove it was to show he could. He knew in his heart that no one would of thought Tristan could do it, or maybe they did but Tristan didn't really know.
Looking at Drew walking in all wet as he saw him in the hallway earlier walking in. He heard Drew's question, but decided not to answer and let him figure it out on his own. He looked around to see who else was missing. He knew Patrick was still Hufflepuff prefect, but he didn't see him come on the Express.
Oh yeah, there was another prefect. "Bloody hell, bloody hell, bloody hell, bloody hell, bloody hell, bloody hell," he said muttering to himself.
Oh yeah. Charlie he thought. How could he forget the other Slytherin Prefect?

Alexis just sat in her seat quietly listening to whatever Corey and Krissy had to say. Though she couldn't say she was too thrilled over the fact more aurors would be swarming around the castle and security tightened. But if it kept everyone asleep at night, it was fine.
As Drew walked in, Alexis's head turned in his direction and said a quick greeting. However for his second question, she couldn't help but giggle. It seemed that everyone who walked into the compartment was equally surprised at Tristan's being here.
