Sliding through the compartment door proved to be more difficult than climbing the stairs on his own, trunk trailing. Actually, it hadn't occurred to him he could really use magic right then, being as once they hit the train who was to say who was over age and who wasn't? If he remembered correctly the Ministry could track magic, but not necessarily whose. At any rate, since he hadn't remembered, it didn't much matter. All that did matter was his fumbling Kellen, a snake plant, and trying to keep it from landing upside down on the compartment floor. Except when he heard something fall, so did Kellen...closely followed by Corey. At least he saved both Tanya and Andrew from death by floor. Though, he really hoped he'd be able to save the two plants, as they meant a lot to him. After all, they had wonderfully picked names and he had tended to them for such a long time, he needed them to survive and thrive in order to continue.
"Uh..." he glanced up, startled out of his mind. Dull green eyes stared at the face he wished he could place, knowing it was another familiar, yet unfamiliar, feeling like he'd had with Lianna. At least with this one he knew she had to have attended Hogwarts...well, hopefully had to have. Glancing down at his plants, needing much attention, he could feel his face flare darker than when his mum had pecked him on the platform. "He--hello?" he questioned carefully, quickly sitting his pink mini-rose bush and Angraecum down on the seat before falling to his knees to carefully tend to the covered Corey where it was hiding in its own mini-greenhouse. This wasn't Kellen's first dive, and it'd survive, but he would need to get it some dirt once they got to Hogwarts and had a few minutes to spare. Of course, that might not be till the morning and he needed to tend to him as soon as he could. Maybe he'd go ahead and break rules first night back and grab a bit of dirt. Surely they wouldn't punish him too badly since he was helping out a plant of all things.
"Am...am I?" he asked, furrowing his brow uncertainly. he wasn't ever quite sure whose year he was in. "Fi--fith yea--year?" he asked, noticing his stumbling hadn't faded any, even if he had practiced in front of his mirror after camp and his run in with Lianna. "I'm sor--sorry, I jus--just don't really ten--tend to notice too many people. Not that you're no--not noticeable, just that, well, I mean." Complete failure, and he knew it. "I'm sor--sorry. I'm Dust--Dustan. McNutt, Dustan McNutt."

As if everything was in slow motion Abigail watched this boy's plants fall from his arms and onto the carpeted floor. Her grey eyes glanced quickly from him and then back to the floor at the plants. Not wanting to screw anything up she carefully got to her knees and placed her backpack behind her on the seat. As she did this she stole another glance at the boy. She knew it was rude to stare but a glance wasn't rude....right?
"I-I'm sorry th-that I made you d-d-drop your plants." What was she saying? In her mind she knew that she wanted to just smile at him and be at ease with another person, a boy at that. "Do y-you want some h-help with them?" Abigail hoped he said no, that he had it. If he did say yes she would probably kill one of them, that would be her luck. Meet a cute boy on the way to school and kill his plants. So she sat there, glancing back and forth from him to his plants.
"I'm sor--sorry. I'm Dust--Dustan. McNutt, Dustan McNutt."
Abby was silent for a few seconds. Dumbfounded by the fact that someone just introduced themselves to her. After a few more seconds of silence from her she looked at him, his face and gave a small smile. "Abi-Abigail Gr-Greenwater. It-it's very nice to me-meet you Dusten." She slowly raised a hand and held it out to him. She hoped he didn't notice she was shaking slightly from the shock of this.
"I'm sor--sorry, I jus--just don't really ten--tend to notice too many people. Not that you're no--not noticeable, just that, well, I mean." She took a deep breath, wanting to not stutter or sound like an idiot now. "I tend to not get noticed by people." Her voice was so quiet that if the train was moving Dusten would not have heard her. "B-but yes. I a-am in my fi-fifth year."

No, she didn't have to go back. Her mum could teach her again, but what worried Felicity was if her mum wasn't feeling well as was, there wasn't much reason for her to pressure the older woman into adding more to her plate. And with exams at the end of the year, things were difficult. Of course, she had the option of taking those exams if her mum continued her lessons as well, it was an option given to them for Felicity's fifth year. However, her parents had saved enough for a year's tuition and her mum wanted her to attend Hogwarts for those exams as she would learn more with wandwork that way.
But Drew was right. He was only an owl away if something happened. And though he had Bogey, she had Dustan and he could fly quite well and knew exactly where Drew stayed as Felicity had often written Drew little notes at night before turning out her lights, that way he'd have something upon his return to his Aunt's from her and so she'd usually have something in the morning when she woke. It was a system she loved, being able to write him anything that was on her mind late at night, knowing he'd have an answer back to her by the morning light when she had to ready herself for work.
"What if something happens and it's still not enough time?" she asked solemnly. No, she prayed nothing would happen, but there was a good chance something could. Not even Drew's promise to get her home as soon as possible could stop something from happening, could stretch time to be enough.
It was at a time like this she was glad she didn't wear make-up, so there wouldn't be smears along Drew's nice clothing, as he'd readied himself at her home for his interview. And really, he looked so nice when he was all dressed up as he was, something Felicity had whispered into his ear earlier about. And at least tears only let little spots that dried after a while. Though, using a charm he could easily fix any mess on his suit.
"I don't want anything to happen to her, or you, or anyone. I know it's just an owl away, but an owl still takes time. And I don't want to miss you this year." The last two years she'd never had a chance to because he was right there, all the time. Even when they had little arguments and stopped talking to one another (though it didn't often last for more than a moment or two) she knew he was always right there. The only chance she's really had to miss him was back in January, and then fear took over her emotions then.

Anna looked at the train and turned back to Tristan with a bright smile. "You know I will." she said while trying to get Coquito back in his cage. For some reason the little cat was getting restless. "I'm really going to miss you Tristan. If you don't send me letters every once in a while I'll start to worry." Mrs. Becket then came and practically squeezed her daughter to death before saying farewell. "Have a good term dear. Tristan, I hope you won't have any problems helping her with her things. I've got to get to the office now."
With mom now gone, Anna didn't feel awkward about asking, "So...when do you leave for that trip of yours?"

"Yes, ma'am," Tristan nodded as Mrs. Becket had left.
He then turned back to Anna, "I'll be fine. There's nothing to worry about," he said smiling. Looking at the time, not much time left, so he helped her things to the luggage man. Same dude, every year. Wondering if he ever aged or will he ever talk. Then asked a question about his trip. He knew the Academy started this month, but if she's talking about the adventure.
"Probably after Christmas. I still have to do basic training with the Academy. I'll need to talk to Drew. I wonder if he is here. I'm not even sure if him and Felicity are even together still," he said. Which he didn't. The last time he talked to Felicity was sometime in April or May. And the last time he talked to Drew was graduation.

As the clock kept ticking ever closer to that all aboard whistle, this particular teenage girl had yet to really move (spare only to get out of the way of those who wanted to come on of course). Departure drew nearer and in a sudden flash and flurry the platform was packed with students, parents, siblings and the most prominent thing of all was that which had already existed: Noise. It was almost deafening to her now and she didn't really know why she was watching the crowd as she was; after all she wasn't expecting anybody and she'd made no plans.
A few faces caught her eye, Drew's in particular but that was likely because he stood out a whole head above the most of them. She had also caught sight of Matty briefly, and the Bartlet boy from her House and for a second she even thought she had seen Dustan's face floating among the waving sea of bodies but she wasn't all too rightly sure. The only thing she was sure of now was that she would need to get forward once the train started moving.
But since it wasn't moving yet she would remain where she was; maybe someone would join her...she didn't really feel like hunting people out; especially since she didn't really have many people to look for anymore. Maybe that was why she was standing here. Maybe if she was lucky a worthwhile face would appear among the masses with an angelic beam of light pointing them out to her eyes? The closest thing she had to that was a second year casting a lumos spell some distance up the platform...
Cute, but definitely not what she needed.

Sophia was already sick and tired of sitting alone. She was definitely not one to take matters sitting down, so she rose from her seat and grabbed her purse. She hastily hoisted it onto her shoulder and took ahold of her wheeled trunk and began to pull it out of the compartment. She refused to spend the train ride alone, and waiting around for someone to come obviously wasn't working out. She adjusted the red beret on her head as she traversed the train, looking for company. It wasn't long until she found the Prefect car and bounded into it happily. It was like her mind was an overly excited blur today. There was so much going on, and yet so little that she could remember.
She noticed Henry Lordings Jr. in a compartment by himself and decided that now would be as good a time than ever to get acquainted. She hesitated before taking the seat across from him, trying her best not to move his feet.
"Hey Henry, mind if I sit with you?"

Cole slowly took his jacket back. His mind was just dwelling on the night where she had forced to wear it. He hadn't missed his jacket one bit knowing that Delilah had been the one who had been holding onto it. He smiled as he held it. He could already smell it, and he knew it didn't smell like him anymore. Cole recognized that smell as something that suited Delilah perfectly. He said with a small laugh "Thanks Delilah, but I hope you know I was serious about letting you keep it."Cole, your such a idiot sometimes... He thought. "I hope you don't mind my humour to much." Cole said to Delilah. He was beginning to turn a little bit red again.
Cole began to sit back down now that the seat was clear. He looked up at Delilah and said "I saved you a spot m'lady, would you care to rest your legs?" Cole was now smiling ear to ear, and it didn't bother him at all. He finally felt at complete ease with being himself with Delilah. He patted the seat next to him softly to imply she come sit down.
He couldn't wait to talk with her. He asked her with a slight chuckle "So you have more paper now?" He couldn't help but smile because he knew exactly the reason she had run out. Those letters had meant the world to him, he had saved every last one of them in a shoe box back home. He smiled at her and said gently "I've missed you a lot...thanks for coming to sit with me."

Another term - a new year. Connor was pretty much the same, although some physical things had changed. He was a bit taller, a bit more muscular, and had gotten his hair trimmed a couple of times. He hadn't much noticed these changes, nor did he really notice the mental changes he had gone through. He was still the same old Connor, just a bit different.
The changes weren't easy to spot at first, and even his mother couldn't put her finger on it, fretting over him as they stood on the platform. ' Did you eat? You look pale. Are you hungry? ' Connor shook his head, batting away her tedious motherly hands as she tried to smooth down his hair. ' Do you have your badges? ' Connor nodded, his cheeks flairing up a lovely shade of pink and he shrugged off the suggestion that he put the badges on. " Mum, if you don't stop I'll miss the train altogether and then they'll be bound to give it to someone else. " There was threat worth seeing.
Connor's parents had been extremely proud to hear that their son had received the honor of becoming Head Boy of Hogwarts. He never heard of the end of it, in fact, as it was all his mother would talk about after his sister's wedding was over and done with. After saying his goodbyes to his parents, sister and brother in law, Connor turned back and set off for the train. He pulled his trunk along the aisle of the train, glancing into compartments every now and then. When he reached the end of the train he spotted an empty compartment and slipped inside. Connor put his trunk over the seat and sat down, staring out the window until he would have to head down and start up the prefect's meeting. Gulp.

"Yes, actu--actually, that'd be qui--quite kind of yo--you," Dustan answered, chancing a glance before looking right back down at poor Kellen. Corey in his little home-made green-house wrap would be alright as the dirt from his pot didn't go tumbling everywhere, but poor, poor Kellen, he was in need of his coverings again. The plant surely couldn't survive without dirt, and water. But they could get some water for him soon enough, first things were first. Though, her name didn't ring any bells.
"Pleas-sure to meet...meet you Abi--Abigail," he gave a small smile, almost not noticing the extended hand in his brief glance at her again. How many ways had he tried to talk to girls and make the stuttering disappear? They were just like normal people, except they weren't. One of his friends, not likely. Don't look at them, and then they had that way of using a tone of voice that made it so you couldn't not look at them. School mates, neighbors, professors, it didn't matter, he blushed and stumbled and fumbled. Was there something wrong with him? Did all guys go through it? Then why was it his friends were fine at talking to girls?
"If you woul--wouldn't mind hel--helping. I jus--just need to get som--some dirt back in his pan, so his roots don't get upset." Did he really say that without any problems? Indicating that he was just going to pick the dirt up and replace it, he still couldn't remember that damned wand and magic bit of him. "Tha--that's hard to belie--believe. That you don--don't get no--noticed by peop--people."
Really, it was quite hard for the boy to fathom why she wouldn't be noticed by people. There wasn't anything wrong with her face, actually, it was a nice looking face, and there was nothing wrong with her body when she moved that he noticed. No horrible smells, she had a nice smile, and her finger wasn't up her nose. So, why wouldn't she be noticeable?

"Oh, not at all... humor is a good thing." Delilah said, touching her Head Girl badge now... She wondered if anyone would listen to her anyways... seeing how short she was and all. Delilah knew she wasn't the tallest girl in the bunch, but obviously she had been chosen for a reason, and she knew it was in her to have a little feist. Delilah smiled back up at Cole, "I'll have to have a Prefects meeting at some point, don't get too lonely without me." Delilah said with a small smirk. Boy did she ever enjoy flirting with this one, she liked him.
Delilah nodded, "Well, thanks for saving me this seat." She said, a small tint of pink overshadowing her face. The small girl laughed lightly, as she remember buying her various inks and new quills, and she had taken Drew's advice to buy some exploding ink aswell as the edible kinds. She simply couldn't wait to see the look on the first years faces when she ate what seemed to be ink right in front of them. Ah yes, she was going to make a great Head Girl. "Yup, I have tons of parchment now, not to mention other things I didn't need..." Delilah said, grinning ear to ear. It was easy to see she was thinking about much more than she let on.

Grey eyes flickered from his face down to the plant on the ground. She didn't know what type of plant that it was, herbology was never a good subject for her. After a few seconds of staring down at the ground she lifted her head, glancing at Dusten as she turned around to grab her bag.a water bottle she grabbed from the house. She held the bottle tightly in her hands as to not drop it and create more of a mess. "He-here. I-I think your plant cou-could use this." She set the bottle down in between them for easy access. Only then did she notice how close they were together in the compartment. They weren't the smallest compartments, but not the biggest. When this new fact sunk in her head she blushed more, the reason behind this was unknown to even her. When she walked the halls of Hogwarts she would watch people, trying to get some tidbit of information that may help her when she met someone.
"Wh-what kind of plants a-are these? I-I've only seen this one be-be-before." With a small hand she pointed to the rose bush on the seat. "To-to be quite honest I-I'm ru-rubbish at herb-herbology." Abby giggled quietly at herself. For some reason she wasn't as nervous around Dusten as she was around anyone else. Without another thought about the matter she looked his way. "I-I'm going t-to guess you're really good a-at herbology."
"Tha--that's hard to belie--believe. That you don--don't get no--noticed by peop--people."
What did he say? Did he just compliment her? Her cheeks burned bright crimson as she thought more about what he said. Abby knew that she wanted to say. "Th-thank y-you." She could feel her cheeks burning even after she said this to him.

Four years. For four years he had been at Hogwarts thus far. Four years had given him a deep knowledge of magic, the castle, and of the world in general, and now, that was almost over. Most, if not all of his friends he met at Hogwarts; He owed a lot to the ancient school, and, with his appointment as one of the latest prefects, would start repaying his debt to the school this year.
Henry straitened his spectacles with the index and middle fingers of his right hand. He had been sedately considering the many people passing on the platform below and had barely noticed the people passing in the corridor outside his compartment. He heard the compartment door slide open, and he looked around to see who it could be.
"Hey Henry, mind if I sit with you?"
"Oh, Sophia!" said Henry, rising from his seat "Come on in, need some help with your trunk?"

He hated thinking about those what if questions, because there wasn't any way to answer them. He couldn't say it would never happen because that's exactly what a what if was. He couldn't tell her things would be okay because they might not be. All he could do was tell her he'd do his best and trust she'd do her best.
"We're going to go crazy if we think about the what ifs," he said, holding her closer. He really didn't mind if she got upset all over his new suit coat. All he was doing that afternoon was filling out paperwork for the academy and it would probably dry before he got to the Ministry anyway.
"I don't want anything to happen either," he told her. "And you know I'm going to do everything I can not to let anything happen. And if something does, I'm going to do everything I can to get to you. I'm going to miss you too, so you know I'm sending Bogey out there as soon as I get home tonight, right?" She'd have his first letter by morning as long as his owl didn't get sidetracked trying to find a midflight-midnight snack.

"I'm pretty sure they are together." Anna said, "But for now just concentrate on the acadamy and let me know how things are over there." Tristan probably already knew what career Anna wanted so she didn't really say it outloud. Besides, there were still NEWTs to go through so better not get one's hopes up before that time. Then she wrapped her arms around Tristan since time was running out. "If you really do go after Christmas, you can stay at my place for a little while. But I'm really going to miss you."
