The thought of this night got her through the next few weeks. The meeting with Lavinia had worried her that somehow her parents found out and were pulling her away from yet another school. But as she found out Lavinia only wanted hers and Emeric's help with some little project. Seeing nothing bad about a little help she decided to go along with it. She knew something like this would please her parents. The only thing that would please her right now would anger her parents very much. And she knew this. Right after Dante accepted her offer she wrote to her butler and asked him to pick out one of her various dresses for the school dance. In the letter she said she had no preference to which dress she should wear, just to try not to make it green. Green would have been just too....easy. She wanted something that was different and stood out. She didn't wait very long. Darius must have sent the own back either right after he got the letter or the next day. Either way she picked up her dress in her dorm and couldn't wait to try it on again. The dress fit perfectly. It was a strapless number that fell all the way to the floor. The sides were bunched up and made to look poofy. Around the waist there was a sash that was tied into a bow. The only thing she didn't like was that the dress was green. But the more she looked at it the nicer the green was. It was light green, not dark like the house color. Finally the night came. Everything fit right, down to her high heels. She spent her time doing her hair and makeup. She didn't want to look overdone with a dress like this. Tallulah left her hair down, her bangs falling over her forehead. As for makeup everything was simple. No eyeshadow, only eyeliner, mascara, and lip stain to make her lips look a lovely dark pink. She put on her dress last. The zipper in the back was giving her trouble so she just used her wand to levitate it. If someone walked into her dorm right then she'd probably look like an idiot. Right before she left she charmed her heels so they didn't hurt her feet at all. As she walked down the stairs every step down felt like she was walking on clouds. I love being a witch, she thought. She passed a few people in the common room. The boys in there stopped what they were doing and watched her walk by. This gave her the boost she needed. As she left she heard a wolf whistle, making her giggle loudly. What creatures boys were. After gaining composure again she started toward the stairs. Ascending the stairs she held the front of her dress up as to not trip on it. She didn't need that right now. She finally made it to the Great Hall. People were milling about and chatting to their friends. Tallulah peeking around and didn't see Dante. A pit formed in her stomach. She felt a little queasy. Tallulah didn't know many people here and was quite scared to stand here alone. She didn't want to look like she was just standing there. After a few calming breaths she walked out into the hall. People looked over to the brunette Slytherin and looked her over. She felt as if they were examining her for a test. She gave them the best smile she could and started toward the steps. Craning her neck as mush as possible she tried to see if anyone was coming down. {Dress}

His mother was shocked when he wrote the letter asking for help. Probably the most shocking part to the woman was that he intended to enjoy a Valentine's dance? The last time Dante said he was going to a dance he ended up playing a prank on the entire group that arrived. So the response he got from his parents was two distinct letters in one. The “have fun” kind, and the “don't play a joke on people there.” It was very tempting to put a few snappers in his pocket. But he figured that it was not why he was asked to the dance. There were some issues he had to deal with before he got to the dance however, one being the time. He had no idea when exactly this dance was supposed to start, and had lost his invitation and notice long ago, thinking that he actually would remember it this time. How very wrong he turned out to be. So when it came time to get ready, he was feeling behind. It really did not matter though, as long as he had not made Tallulah wait very long. And he had his gift for her prepared, it was not much compared to what her parents could afford all the time, but it was something. He continued to prepare, for what he had to do. He was thankful that his hair was still short enough to fall into place on it's own, nothing was needed to keep it down. The tuxedo he had found was one he owned for a while, and even though he had told Tallulah he would probably be in blue, he figured this beige one would work just fine. He had a gold plated lapel pin to as the only accessory to his completed outfit. The pin was one of the many things that he had asked his mother to bring him. It was in the shape of a heart. Relatively simple, and extremely corny, but at any rate it worked for the night. Aside from brushing his teeth one last time and putting on the suit's matching shoes, he figured he was just about done. At any rate, he made sure to grab everything before he left toward the ground floor. Taking one last look in a mirror he stopped and struck a pose, “looking sharp friend.” On his way there he tried to think who he might run into at the dance. Tal would be there of course, probably several other friends as well. He had not seen B in a while, but doubted he would want to show up to such festivities. He was in a bit of a hurry though, many of the halls were empty which meant people were already at the celebration. So while no one was around he ran through several of the hallways. Walking when he came across someone else in a hall. He discovered that this tuxedo did rub against his necklace wrong just a bit, it irritated his neck. But after adjusting it so the necklace was outside the cloth, the discomfort was released. He finally reached the doors to the dance, and he saw Tal go in. She probably had looked right past him as she searched. But he could get that to work toward his advantage. He decided to sneak up behind the girl. Being sure to not be noticed by her until the final moment, when he stood almost right beside her. “I must say, you clean up pretty well” he smiled toward the girl. The dress was impressive, and he was happy to see that his tuxedo worked well with it. {tuxedo}

His eyes never left her face as she took the piece of chocolate from him and he grinned at the sensation of her lips on his fingertips.
"I like it too," he answered, not completely talking about the chocolates, though it had been really good biting into that sweet cream and cocoa. He thought he would really enjoy sharing the last two Valentine chocolates with her. But then she changed the plans.
"We have two more," he told her, worried about putting them in his pocket and ruining them. With the dancing close that he was planning, and the other box already hidden in his pocket, he wasn't sure the chocolates would survive unharmed. On the other hand, he did want to go inside, knowing that the sooner they got in there, the sooner he could suggest leaving. Starting to move towards the Great Hall, he took another chocolate from the box and this time offered her the first bite. Of course, as soon as she went for it, he planned to steal it back with a wide grin and take the bite himself.

When he reminded her of the other two chocolates, she smiled at him and crinkled her nose. They could eat them inside the hall, couldn't they? But he took a step towards the hall, and Felicity gladly followed, ready to get into dancing with him and bugging him about what he got her. Slipping her arms through his, Felicity was ready to keep walking, but he held out another piece of chocolate and she couldn't resist going for it.
Once again, her attention was distracted by all of the girls dressed up in pretty dresses and she took a moment to let her brown eyes sweep over her sweater and Drew's suit. Yes, she was definitely underdressed for this occasion, maybe she should've worn her Christmas dress again, or borrowed something from Celina again. At least then she would match everyone else, but at the same time she didn't like wearing dresses, and she'd rather be comfortable than not.
Leaning in for that bite of chocolate, Felicity hoped Drew didn't thiknk she should've dressed up more than what she had.

Feeling kind of stupid for standing in the entrance way as more couples filtered into the hall Connor moved into the room more, making his way towards the refreshments. The Slytherin sixth year helped himself to a spot of punch as he looked around the place. He recognized everyone in the hall, whether or not he spoke with them depended on who they were. He spotted a couple of friends, mostly girls, all chatting with people. There was Jax, who Connor had passed by in the Entrance Hall and was talking with a Gryffindor girl, and then were was Matty, chatting with Emeric Troy, one of the younger Slytherins that Connor found to be a bit on the obnoxious side.
He had also recognized Autumn when he walked by the girl, hand in hand with her boyfriend. Thinking about all of this caused him to be reminded of three things. One being that everyone had paired up for the event, and two being that all of his friends were girls. He smirked slightly at that thought as he looked around, spotting a girl from a couple of his classes. His third thought was that he was entirely too casual looking. It may have been nice casual with his pressed pants and dress shoes, but forgoing the tie and rolling up the sleeves of his marroon colored shirt might have been too much. A small part of him didn't care, because it didn't much matter either way. Whenever he was forced into wearing a penguin suit, as he preferred to call tuxedos, he usually ended up taking off the jacket anyway. So he was merely skipping a couple of steps in between.
Feeling a little adventurous and willing to talk to new people, Connor set his drink down and walked over to the girl in the rather interesting looking green dress. " Hi, I'm Connor. " He said as he stood before her and introduced himself. Not wanting to seem strange or standoffish, he added, " I think we have a couple of lessons together. "

He grinned as she linked her arm through his, loving the physical reminder that she was his girl and he, in turn, was all hers. He figured that almost every other guy out there thought that their girl was the best, but that didn't bother Drew any. He knew they were all wrong.
He didn't notice her distraction, so entranced by her eyes and her smile and the butterflies doing acrobatics in his midsection. The light bounced off her golden curls and he thought it was absolutely amazing that her sweater matched his tie perfectly. It really didn't register that most people were wearing red for that day. All he really cared about was that she had matched him that evening. They were together.
But as enchanted as he was, he still couldn't resist the tease, pulling the offered sweet back as she went to take a bite. He had been planning to actually take the first bite for himself, but couldn't deny her when she looked so pretty, even if it was just a joke. With only a short pause, he gave it back to her, this time letting her have it for real.

She turned glanced at the boy in red making his way towards her. It was Connor...Connor something. Her memory was usually a lot better and Sophia groaned that she couldn't recall his whole name. She felt a little foolish but then racked her brain for more about him. She knew he was a Slytherin and a Prefect, and was even in her year.
" Hi, I'm Connor. I think we have a couple of lessons together. "
Of course! Sophia nodded. "Hey, I'm Sophia. Yeah, we definitely have a couple of classes together." She was at a loss for words, not wanting to say anything stupid as she was so prone to doing. "So are you enjoying the dance?" She highly doubted it. There wasn't really too much excitement going on, but rather sporadic groups of couples all around the room having their own private conversations. Everything was just so romantic and intimate, yet it just seemed awkward to those unaccompanied by a date.

People were exiting the hall and going into the dance. Feeling like she didn't want to be alone she followed them, glancing back every few seconds to make sure Dante wasn't behind her. Her eyes went around the hall, making sure that Dante hadn't already arrived at the dance. She moved away from the door as to not block it. Her felt over dressed. Some people wore nice dress pants and the such. She cursed inwardly that her butler had to send her the poofiest dress in her wardrobe. Lifting the front of her dress a few inches off the floor she found herself on the wall, looking around awkwardly.
“I must say, you clean up pretty well”
Just as she was setting into her new station as a wallflower someone came up next to her and spoke quietly. She squeaked and turned to her side, seeing Dante standing there. Her heart thumped a few times loudly in her chest. Her look of worry vanished and turned into a wide smile. He looked handsome, really handsome. The corners of her lips quivered for a second as if she was going to say something to Dante but all that happened was a small pink color rose on her cheeks.
After a second she glanced away from Dante and around the room. He was the nicest dress male her tonight. Most only wore nice dress pants and a dress shirt but Dante went all out. The only other person in a suit was a fellow Slytherin, but he didn't look as nice as Dante. "You look very handsome." Her voice was sweet, angelic. You could tell Tallulah was happy to be there with Dante.
As she smiled at Dante her eyes found Emeric as she spoke to Matty. Weird, she thought, I didn't know they knew each other that well... Another thought crossed her mind. Lavinia Cromwell. She didn't look around right then but when she had a chance she would scan the room for the woman. Ever since their 'meeting' Tallulah had been a bit skittish about who she was friendly with. She didn't want anyone to get hurt that wasn't deemed 'respectable' by her parents.
Eyes moving away from Emeric she set them on the boy in front of her. The color of his tuxedo was not one you saw everyday but Tallulah really liked it. It wasn't usual, same as her dress. The colors went really well together with any input on either side. She could already tell this night would be amazing.

Sophia... Crawford? Connor guessed that was her last name... Or something else beginning with a ' C. ' He couldn't really think of any other last names that started with C, so Crawford it was. He smiled slightly as she introduced herself to him, confirming that they did have classes together. He remembered seeing her chatting with Eaden Valo during one of their History of Magic classes and looked around, wondering if he would spot the other Gryffindor sixth year. He didn't know if Eaden was a dance-going type, but as he didn't see his new friend anywhere, he guessed she must not be.
His eyes turned back to Sophia, his smile still there as she asked if he was having a good time. He was tempted to say yes, to say that he was just waiting for someone. And he guessed, in a way he was waiting for someone, he just didn't know if she would want to see him. As for enjoying the dance, though, that would be an outright lie to say that he was. He let out a small chuckle as he shook his head, finally answering, " No, not at all. Are you? " He didn't think she looked like she was having all that much fun, just standing around as he had been. Dances were all good and fun, but when it came to a Valentine's dance, going alone didn't look like the best idea about now with all the couples milling around and talking and laughing.
Connor hadn't been feeling very well before, but now he felt like he wanted to pass out.

" No, not at all. Are you? "
Sophia scrunched up her nose. "No, I'm not really having too much fun. I thought that it would've been a bit more exciting, but it wouldn't be the first time that I was wrong." Sophia felt so out of place, so alone just standing there. She felt some sort of lurch in her stomach as she watched the couples in the room. They were all so happy...was she just in the way?
She looked at Connor and smiled. "I would've thought that a charming guy such as yourself would have a date tonight." She remembered that she had seen Connor and Celina together during classes. They could just be best friends or something of the like, but that thought never ran through her mind...until now. Until she realized that she had paired the two together, something that Connor could be completely uncomfortable with. Just add that to the list of stupid things I've said...
Connor didn't look too good...in fact, he looked a little sick. "Connor...Connor, are you alright?" She placed a delicate hand on his shoulder.

He took a short time to take in the atmosphere of the area, and was pleased to see it was not completely pink and red. And sure, what was done to the ceiling was pretty cool. As he continued to scan the room he thought he saw several people he knew, but none of those he had expected. The most notable was Connor, who he saw approaching some girl he did not know in a green dress. Perhaps he would bump into the Slytherin later in the night. Perhaps try to catch him scanning the room at some point, but at any rate, he was sure they would meet up. "You look very handsome." He changed his focused back to Tal, “well thank you,” smiling, “I have to say, I feel a little overdressed. Figure I'll take off the coat at some point, claim a table with it.” Not that his outfit compared to the lovely green the girl wore. Even the frill that caused it to puff worked for her. And judging by the smile on her face, she was happy to be there. He only hoped that he could make the time there worthwhile. His right hand had been kept behind his back for the entire time, and had honestly almost forgotten about it. “Oh, right!” he got an even bigger grin on his face, and pulled a box just bigger than his hand wrapped in blue paper with green ribbon. He was not going to conform it to the color schemes of the holiday. “I pulled a few strings and got my grandmother in Italy to send these here. They are not much, but they're for you.” Looking back over a little more toward the food and seeing Connor talking to the girl more. But something was slightly off about the situation. From what he knew of the Slytherin, he did not look right, maybe he was not feeling well. He smiled, figuring the magic he used to hold the paper and ribbon on the present would keep Tallulah occupied for a little while. He wanted to make sure that it stuck well, and did not give up the contents of the box very easily. Contents of box: (Chocolate Flowers) {Example 1}{Example 2}{Example 3}

“I have to say, I feel a little overdressed. Figure I'll take off the coat at some point, claim a table with it.”
She nodded slightly. "Same here. I was worried that everyone would be in semi-nice clothes and I'd be the only one gussied up." Her eyes looked again over what Dante wore. She thought he looked perfect. Dressed up, and yet very at ease. Some people when dressed in formal wear look a bit out of place, but he looked calm.
“I pulled a few strings and got my grandmother in Italy to send these here. They are not much, but they're for you.”
She cocked her head slightly as he said this and pulled something from behind his back. It was a small box wrapped in blue and tied with a green bow. Her expression changed from wonder to just pure joy. She didn't expect anything from Dante. The fact that he went out of his way to get it made her night ever more amazing. Taking the box from his hands she slowly untied the ribbon and took the top off the box. That she saw inside made her gasp. Little candy flowers. She giggled as she picked one up delicately and stared at it. Something so small and beautiful. Putting it back in the box she put the cover back on.
She took a step forward and wrapped her arms around Dante and gave him a hug. She held on for a few seconds then let go and stepped back. She tried to say something but words didn't come out, only a slight twitch on her lips. After a few seconds she finally found the words. "This is the more beautiful present I've ever gotten. Thank you." She let loose one of her genuine smiles. It seemed that Dante was one of the only people who could get her to do this. He was someone very special to her.
A twinge of guilt rushed over her. She didn't pick up anything for him. Biting her lip she looked away for a second. "I didn't get you anything. I'm sorry. I didn't know." You could hear the true guilt in her voice. Probably messed this up! He's going to think I'm self centered and didn't think of him. Her eyes glowed with regret as she looked at him.

He smiled sympethetically, thinking along the same lines as well. " Yeah, it's really not.. single person friendly. " He decided on the words carefully with a small shrug of his shoulders as he slowly glanced around the room, his eyes catching onto couples, couples and more couples. There was an occasional lone person, looking a little lost. Connor felt the need to coral them all together for some reason so they could just hang out and not be all.. lovey dovey to one another.
' I would've thought that a charming guy such as yourself would have a date tonight. ' Was she... flirting with him? The idea was weird to him, but Connor smiled slightly, responding, " Me too, but things didn't work out in time I guess. " He wasn't sure if he should bring up Celina or not, but he added in, " I'm kind of on the outs with this girl... " He didn't know if it would be strange to talk about something like that with Sophia, but it was a bit late for that now. " I could ask the same thing for you, though. No date? " He assumed so, but then again he could be wrong.
Feeling a little light headed he brushed off her worried statements. " I'm fine, just a little nervous. " Whether or not he admitted it to himself or her, Connor knew he had a lot riding on tonight for a number of reasons. " Want to get a drink or something? " He continued on, trying to direct her attention elsewhere.

" I'm kind of on the outs with this girl... "
Sophia smiled. Her intuition was never wrong. She knew her assumptions weren't too far off. She didn't want to pry into it too much, realizing that this was the first time she and Connor ever really spoke, so she dropped the topic, hoping that things honestly went well for him tonight. Connor continued.
" I could ask the same thing for you, though. No date? "
Sophia felt herself chuckle a wee bit. "You got it. I barely know anyone here and I was kind of hoping that the dance would be fun...more like a 'let's all get together and party!' I was definitely wrong about it." She felt a bit of disappointment leak out at the last sentence. She was happy that at least Connor was talking to her...other than Eaden, she didn't really talk to as many people as she had hoped she would.
" I'm fine, just a little nervous. Want to get a drink or something? "
"Sure, I'm pretty parched." She mostly said this for his benefit; maybe a drink would help him feel better.

When he continued moving the chocolate away, Felicity followed, trying to get a small bite from the flavourful sweet. It looked so yummy, and while she knew it was Drew's present if he was offering to share, she wasn't going to not have some. Laughing at the hesitation, she took a small bite when it was reoffered to her, leaving more than half of the piece for her boyfriend. Raspberry cream flowed through her sensations, the taste so rich and powerful that tasted absolutely amazing. Yes, a good pick from Honeydukes.
"All right, there's still one more," she told him with a little wiggle. Becoming ansy because she wanted to see what her present was, as well as wanting to dance with him. No, she couldn't hardly dance, but she knew he could and she was all right at keeping up with him, so it would be fun. Plus, she wondered if Celina was in there and if she went with anyone. As far as Felicity knew she wasn't going with anyone, but she wouldn't mind seeing her best friend anyway, as long as Alfonz wasn't really anywhere too near.
