"Too-la-ate," she continued in a sing song voice, liking the childish tone she was taking to him. "Look, the only thing we have to worry is that they chop us up with their funny Muggle utensils and store us in their walls. Unless they have homocidal tendencies, I still want to go visit them." She looked to him and tilted her head. "I want to see what how things were once for you, just like you saw how it was for me. Come on, tell me one good thing about your hometown." She made herself comfortable so she could listen in on his childhood.

"Good things about my hometown..." Ben repeated, trying to think of something good to tell her, "Other than being known as the arsehole of the world? There's not a lot that's too great about it." More than once, Ben had heard his father refer to their town of Swindon as the "arsehole of the world" and he soon realized that it was true. It was one of those small town deals where everyone knew everyone. And they knew everything as well.
"One exciting thing about my childhood is how it all started," Ben told her, remembering the story of his birth that his mom had told him, "According to legend, I was born between the two sets of sliding doors at a Muggle hospital."

"Oh, no bloody way!" Beni said with a laugh. "Suppose you couldn't wait to meet the world, eh?" Oh she wished her own birth wasn't as humdrum and on time as it was. For a girl always alive and kicking, it only took two hours for her give it a go to see some worldly light.
"Are you sure there's nothing else? You lived practically your entire life there-- there must have been something great going on there." She hoped nudging him towards this topic would cheer him up.

"I think it's just because I've always had to be different and my parents agreed," Ben replied with a small grin and a soft chuckle. It amused him at how different from them he actually was.
Thinking for another moment, Ben wondered what else he could tell her. There was really nothing else all that exciting, unless his 11th birthday counted. "Well, for my 11th birthday, my parents threw me a surprise party," Ben offered, wondering if that was enough to satisfy her curiosity, "Did I ever tell you how exactly I got my Hogwarts letter?"

Her interest was most certainly piqued at the memory of a birthday party. Those were always good, right? "Do tell, do tell," She said with a grin and this time a literal nudge. It amazed her about the possibilities of him being there before she even thought of going to Hogwarts.

"Well, it was after my party. I was standing on the steps waving to my friends that were leaving and an owl flew right into the side of my head," Ben told her with a nod and a huge grin, "And believe me, I know how that sounds, but it actually happened." The boy laughed at his own past and rolled his eyes again.
"My parents didn't let me go though," he continued, "I still went to my Muggle school until they finally let me go to a magical school and it was some place that I can't even remember the name now. It was a tiny place in London because we couldn't afford Hogwarts stuff. But I eventually ended up there and that's when I met you. Which certainly was the best part of the Hogwarts experience." Ben now had a broad grin plastered across his face and he tilted Beni's chin up so he could do his favourite thing; kiss her.

"What a wake up call..." Beni said after letting him kiss her. She grinned at him, liking it when he talked about himself. "So how did it feel... you know, knowing that you were a wizard? Capable of magic..." It was again exciting for her to know more about witches and wizards' histories. As long as she wasn't going to be tested on it, she liked learning all kinds of things.

"It was weird," Ben replied truthfully, "But it explained the crazy things that happened in my house that I couldn't explain otherwise. My mum said that when I was a baby, I would cry because I was hungry and a bottle of milk just appeared in my hand. I dunno how true that is, but I do remember making one explode once." Ben smiled as he remembered that day. It was probably the only day that he hadn't been called "Fed-Ex". His brothers and sisters were way too terrified to call him a name after that incident.
"What about you?" Ben inquired, curious about her past, "When did you find out?"

"I've known all my life," Beni started as she thought back to her own childhood. "Despite the fact that I'm only half blooded, my mothers wanted me to come to terms with who I am. I think my dad was supportive of it for a while, too. But I didn't even consider Hogwarts because I went from Spain to Canada, Canada to London. Hated the school I was in then, so I went to Hoggy's on a whim." She sighed in wonder, thinking if she hadn't done it on a whim.

"And it's a good thing you did," replied Ben as he looked down at her in a way that he hoped let her know how much he loved her, "I'd be nothing without you." He flashed her another smile before kissing her softly again before breaking it due to the chuckle that was escaping his lips. From all the reminiscing, Ben had stumbled upon one memory that he was quite fond of.
"Do you remember the day we met?" he asked her curiously, hoping she remembered it as well as he did. Never would Ben be able to get the image of her that day out of his head. The get-up she had worn was just too much and he loved it.

"Do YOU remember?" she counterasked, her grin widening. "In my defense, it was a cold day, and I did get hit by a crazy snowballer once. Never told you that, because it seemed smart of me to look like I knew the dangers beforehand." Of course, that "invention" left her with terrible facial marks, but it brought her a boyfriend. Evened all out in the end, right? "And I remember you-- just sitting there like a duck." She laughed a bit.

"A duck?" Ben repeated with a raised eyebrow, "In mydefense, it was my first day there and I didn't have anywhere else to go. So--" He stuck his tongue out at her like a child and blew a raspberry at Beni. A chuckled escaped his lips mid-raspberry which turned it into more of a fart noise. That only caused him to laugh even more because he was just childish that way.
"I'll have to admit though. Those goggles were exceptionally sexy," Ben stated, going back to the memory and then added with a grin, "I think it's high-time we had another look at those. Do they still exist?"

Beni laughed along with him, carrying on the juvenile nature of the conversation. But she winked at him at the suggestion. "I'm pretty sure it's not hard to find in that one box in the bedroom..." She laughed again, thinking that she was pretty sure she scribbled on it with a multicolored quill once in boredom when she was in History of Magic one day. It's still viewable, though...

"Well, up you get, woman!" Ben ordered her, humour clearly evident in his voice. He'd never seriously speak that way to Beni, and only ever did it jokingly. "Go find them!" he continued, winking at her and chuckling again. Ben folded his hands under his head, making himself a pillow and sighing contently. His eyes wandered down to Beni again and they just stayed there. He liked to just look at her. If that was all he could do, Ben wouldn't complain. Beni was definitely a sight for sore eyes.
"Have I told you lately that you're beautiful?" Ben asked, a smug grin across his face, knowing he was so lucky to be with her, "Can't remember the last time I said it and that just won't do."

Beni scrunched her nose as she held back some raucous laughter. "Going!" She said in between giggles and stood up, if only to smooth out her skirt. She twirled it about, liking the way the fabric swung so much that she didn't realize she was sort of modeling for him.
She gave him another devlish smile and an air kiss as she ran off to the room to fetch the goggles. They were indeed splattered with a pattern of color and doodles. Things never went to waste when they were in Beni's hands.
