Even though she had her license to apparate; she had earned it just a couple of months ago; Luce was not used to the sensation of leaving one place, and entering another. It truly was appearing out of thin air. You'd think that after growing up in the magical world that Luce would have accepted those things as being normal, but she traveled on muggle transportation, things like buses and taxi's, for so long that when there was something so much easier, that she just needed to pass a test for, it was like it wasn't real.
Landing on the wrong foot, Luce couldn't help but stagger back a few steps. Okay, so she sometimes made mistakes when she apparated, but that was a given. They were incredibly mild mistakes; she never left her eyebrows in France. Adjusting her shirt, Luce flicked her shoe back on properly, as it was limply sitting on her foot from the landing. Stepping out into a steady stream of people that seemed to all be going to one place, Luce ducked out the flow onto the road, trying to see where she was. As a car rounded the corner, its lights on her, Luce jumped back into the crowd, scared of the driver. Muggles always seemed to be so lost, so angry.
As they came to a corner that Luce was sure she knew, Luce tried to push her way over to the other side of the crowd, as she could see the sign for the Leaky Cauldron, Luce jumped out and leaned against the door of the pub that she was frequenting lately. But not tonight, tonight she just wanted a light dinner at one of the cafes along the street. It was fairly busy when she walked in; Luce didn't even bother trying to spot Sebastian out of all the drunks, and kept on walking out of the pub and into the alley, lighted up with lights that resembled those that muggles used around christmas time. The look of the street made her smile, it always did.
Luce kept walking until she got to a cafe that looked new, that she hadn't spotted before. She wasn't particularly hungry, a hot chocolate and a piece of cake ought to do her, it wasn't so much the food that Luce was coming out for. She found that she didn't have that much of a life anymore, what with work and other commitments, problems needing solving, her parents big move back to Bescancon, in France. There was a lot on her plate lately, that may have been the reason that Luce had lost most of her appetite.
Taking a seat on one of the tables out the front of the shop, sectioned off with a fence that had a vine growing up and down. It really was a quaint little cafe, Luce was surprised she hadn't noticed it sooner.
